a great alternative to trv950
PD-DV952 is a great camcorder. I tried it once, and the image quality was exellent. I suggest you buy this since it's really cheap considering the the fact that it's a 3CCD camcorder. Buy this and you won't regret it.

Great Camcorder
I recently did A LOT of research for a high-end camcorder.

This was the winner. After trying many 2 ccd products from Sony and Canon--both good, this camcorder just had more of the goods. Being a 3 ccd camcorder, the colors and sharpness are EXCEPTIONAL. You can film a professional documentary with this one.

The only problem with all the camcorders under $3k, you'll have problems filming in low light. The low-light features in the Panasonics, Sonys, and Canons is substandard, so don't believe the MARKETING that they can film at night in color--that war footage green low-light tints, etc aren't really pragmatic. Consider these cams for use only in good light conditions.

I took the Panasonic to Hawaii and worked flawlessly. Get the bigger Panasonic branded lithium-ion battery and you'll have more than enough juice for 3 days of regular filming thru the big lcd screen (which is better than competitors).

Controls are intuitive and easy to use as well. It may be a little bit more bulky than the 2 ccd Sony palmcorders (though of similar weight), but MARKEDLY smaller than the other 3 ccd competitors. If you're an enthusiast, then this cam offers the best in terms of price, features (3ccd!), and size.

Since all cams are not really pocketable (avoid the buggy Sony micro Dvs), don't only think in size.....you'll need a camera bag on vacations REGARDLESS of size (you'll need the spare battery, 2 filters, wide angle lens).....skimping on these goods will cut your filming experience when you get to your computer to edit--I learned this lesson the hard way--so don't skimp on these items........get a Lowe camera backpack which worked as a day pack and camera pack.

This is one exceptional camera that will give me many years of service!

A Great way to expand your PDA
I never in a million years thought I would need more than the standard 8MB's of memory my Palm m125 came with...but I was given a rather large wake up call rather quickly. 8MB's IS a lot of memory for a handheld device, b-u-u-u-t depending on how often you rely on your PDA, and for what purpose, well that room can fill up mighty fast.

I did some looking around before I made my decision, and I am QUITE happy I did. There are currently several different multi-media cards (mmc) available on the market, but with help from amazon.com and reviewers who found a better deal, I was spared from spending a whole lot more than I needed to. For instance, you COULD purchase the 16MB card manufactured with the PALM name on it, but you COULD get a 32MB SanDisk card right here on amazon for CHEAPER than the PALM's skimpy 16MB expansion card.
The REAL kicker is that the Palm card's are made BY SanDisk...so you are getting the SAME product, just with a different brand name on front, along with a significant jump in price, too. I bought a 32 and a 16MB card, so I have MORE than enough room for a great deal of stuff.

Now, the downside to buying an expansion card: If you have downloaded ANY copyrighted program to your Palm, you will NOT be able to copy the program to your expansion card in order to free up extra room on your Palm. I bought my cards with the express purpose of doing just that, only to be surprised that NOPE, you just plain CAN'T. I have had to come up with alternate ways of using my cards than the initial reason I bought them for. I have copied EVERYTHING that I CAN over to my cards, especially the stuff that I don't use on a frequent basis. I have managed to free up about 3MB's of room on my Palm, and I have yet to use up more than 4MB's of room on my cards. It's gonna be a while before I'll be able to fill up all that extra space.

One more thing to think about before you dive in and make the purchase: It takes about roughly 1.5 seconds of additional time to access programs you have on the expansion card...so if you are someone with little or no patience, you may want to think about a different option, or maybe a Pocket PC which comes standard with much more memory than the average Palm OS device.
It may not be a lot, but for some people I guarantee it CAN make the difference between making the buy or not. For me it isn't anything more than a microscopic annoyance -- at best. Aside from these concerns, I have been nothing but totally pleased with my purchase. Oh, one more tiny item that I think can and should be addressed with the manufacturers of these expansion cards: Include a User's Manual on how to best use and get the most out of your card. My card came in the plastic container with absolutely NOTHING to tell me how to best use it, or even how to install it. Everything I have learned has come through trial and error over the course of several weeks of constant use. I'm not looking for a dictionary, just a few pages of instructions, shortcuts and ideas can go a long way. Okay, that's it from me. Make your choice and choose wisely...keep in mind that amazon has plenty to pick from...do your research first, and good luck.

It came free with an 130
You cant complain if it comes free. 16 megs is kind of small for all my digital images though

Huge cappacity, but less compatibility...
With 512 Mega, it can store anything that you want to keep.
But be careful when you plan to upgrade your Compact Flash Card.
Some items can not read this CF Card. My camera (Canon S-20) can only take up to 256MB.
Check your manual before getting one of this.
And also, this Card cost slightly more than the 256Mb.
256MB Sandisk's CF Card cost $0.625 per Mega
but
512MB Sandisk's CD Card cost $0.664 per Mega.

I suggest you to take two 256MB, which cost less (you save about $20 when you get two 256 instead of 512)
(These price based on amazon.com's price on Oct 3rd 01)

Surprisingly Durable Compact Flash Card.
I purchased the SanDisk 512 MB CompactFlash Card from Amazon about a year ago. 4500 pictures later, I cannot complain about the card. A few weeks ago, I allowed my sister to borrow the card and my camera for her trip to New York City. While there she only took 112 pictures; nowhere near the cards capacity of 490 pictures at 4.3 megapixel. Unfortunately when she arrived home, my mother offered to do all of her laundry; my memory card was in her pant pocket. Mom was quite upset as she removed the laundry and found my memory card at the bottom of the washer. They explained what happened as I came in that weekend. The card was dead, or so I thought. I bought a new card at Circuit City. Loaned the new replacement card to my mother this time for a trip to Washing DC. While contemplating how to disassemble my compact flash card, I figured I would try it again. Low and behold I was able to download my sisters pictures. Two weeks later and still working just like new. If anyone else want to test their compactflash card through a washing machine, go ahead and I'll wait for the results. In the mean time, SanDisk has my attention!

More than a neat little toy
First, a note of explanation -- the Cruzer comes in different "sizes", which really only amount to the capacity of the flash memory card inside the little box. I bought one with the 64MB SD card; you can also look at the reviews for the 128MB module ... most of the insights will probably be the same.

It took a little doing in getting it to work on my Win98SE machine. After futzing around for a while, I found a set of instructions on SanDisk's website that basically says: "follow these 5 steps, ignore the error messages, and everything will be fine". Since then, sure enough, it's been cool.

You plug the thing into a USB port on your computer, and a pseudo disk drive appears (in Explorer; I do not have a Mac to test it on). On Win98, I had to go thru the aforementioned shenanigans to get it to work the first time; however, on a Win2k machine, it plugged and played immediately.

Once it's plugged in, you use it just like a disk drive. Move files between computers, store backups, have files to carry around with you all the time, to use on whatever computer computer you're at (instead of emailing them to yourself or whatever).

Only a few cons: 1) You pretty much have to carry the 3 inch pigtail cord around all the time, since few computers have flush-mounted USB ports. 2) The "carrying case" is useless; I never could get the Cruzer into the thing -- the fit was just too tight. However, the carrying case is only a thin bit of cloth, primarily designed to prevent scratches, I guess. (But the Cruzer itself is pretty sturdy; a light dense plastic that I could probably break with a hammer if I really wanted to, but it would take some effort. If you drop it on the floor, and I have, it is no worse for the wear.) 3) Moving the one big button, which changes the Cruzer from "plug it into the computer" mode to "take out the memory card" state, I found to be rather difficult. It takes some effort. But unless you're popping SD cards in and out all the time, this won't be a problem.

So (among other things), I now have a new way of backing up my Quicken data -- copy the files to this gizmo, and put the little gizmo in my little home fireproof safe. A lot faster and more reliable than a fistful of floppies.

Powerpoint savior
I give a lot of public presentations using powerpoint. In most cases, I have to send the presentation days before I am really happy so that the conference organizers can load it on the conference system, or we have to do an awkward swap and connect my laptop to the conference projector. Floppies can't hold a ppt of any decent length. No one has zip drives. I don't have time to burn my presentations on CD's or DVD's. So I bought the Sandisk Cruzer.

I can load 5-10 different presentations on the 64 mb card, and as long as the OS is windows 2000 or above, it is plug and play. It is great for swapping files between unnetworked systems (sneaker net). I love the fact that I can upgrade the memory with a simple, affordable SD flash memory purchase.

If you give speeches or presentations at conferences, the Cruzer is a must.

Childsplay!
I have had mine for 2 weeks and I was just as the box described it... within 4 minutes I had programmed 2 journeys, memorised my home address, and it had picked up all the satellites! The touch screen works very well, and the buttons on the virtual keyboard are large enough not to make mistakes, the directional voices are clear.I managed to keep a signal throughout mountainous regions and in tunnels! The only thing that it seems to be missing is a large compass. One thing to be aware of though: on some newer vehicles with athermal windscreens you will need to get the outdoor antenna to get a signal. Apart from that it puts many of the more expensive GPS units to shame!

The best GPS Car Navigation System... Period
I bought a unit in The Netherlands and have used it for two weeks. The mount is rock solid using the suction cup mount to the windscreen. The device itself is a work of art. It has an exceptionally easy-to-use touch screen interface. You don't even have to read the manual- it is very intuitive.

You just put in the city, then the street, then the house number then follow the units directions- it will take you right to someones house with uncanny accuracy. Or you can ask it to take you to the nearest ATM/gas station/post office/etc.

The best thing about it is the 3D perspective used while navigating. It is much better than the 2D/top-down perspective that most units use. The full color map display is easy to read and 99% accurate so far for the Benelux area in Europe.

Another key difference from other PDA based units is the speaker on the TomTom Go is superb- It is loud and clear of distortion. The volume is easily controlled.

The unit gives clear voice directions in your choice of "voices" in many languages, man/woman, etc. It will say, "in 200 meters turn left" and then about 20 meters before your turn, it will say "turn left" (or you can change the units to feet/miles). And if you need the device to repeat the verbal instructions, you just press the lower left corner of the screen and you will hear the instructions again.

It has an internal battery that lasts about 5 hours or you can use the included 12v "cigarette lighter" power cord.

I can't write about the quality of the US digital maps, but the European maps are very good so far. Every single street in my small town is present including the alley behind my house. Every ATM/store/bank/train station/gas station/etc is faithfully represented as a Point of Interest.

This unit costs a lot of $, but is worth it. Overall, it is the best designed piece of technology I have used in years.

Reliable
If you have an older workstation that has an older motherboard and needs an upgrade in memory, you have to stick with edo. I have two 32MB Viking chips in my linux box that doesn't miss a step when my webserver gets 8,000+ hits a day

Memory is the 2nd most important upgrade to a PC
I own a HP Pavilion 7010. 180Mhz processor upgrade since bought in 1995. I run Windows 98 SE and 128 RAM. It boosts the speed of Windows, Word 97, & the Internet so fast! So much so, that I haven't had to buy a PC since 1995!!! Little upgrades like a processor upgrade & adding Ram such as this can really boost your PC! That saves ya money so you can spend it on software instead of a new PC. This is a must have is you like to mess with your PC
by taking it apart and upgrading it. Read your manual about what memory your PC needs. Memory = Speed.

It worked
I have been shopping around for memory for my older thinkpad, and everyone seemed to not have it for my particular model. Viking said there SODIMMs were compatable, so I order it, dropped it right in, and now my thinkpad is happy, and so am I. The memory gave me a 200% improvement, course I went from 64meg to 192meg.

It works, I love it
I bought it from Amazon with the intention to return it if I couldn't use it. I pluged it in and it works perfectly. I have a 570 with 128MB RAM using Win2000 in a corporate environment. With the extra 64, I load all programs in memory and everything is faster now. This way IT cannot take away my 570 and give me a brick. Only regret is not gone with the 256MB, which I will use when running my Client/Server application. If the price was lower I would have gotten that instead.

Great memory (if I could install it all...)
5 stars for the memory itself - 4 stars to the fact that I can't use it all. To explain: I have a blue, 2nd generation iMac, which can be maxed out at 256MB. When I saw the price on these 128ers, I jumped at the opportunity and bought 2 of em. Great, right? Sorta. I hadn't realized that you can only instead one memory module in the iMac. The 2nd one has to be installed by an Apple-licencee, unless you want to try it yourself and void the warranty. So I've got 128 in and 128 sitting on my desk, waiting for me to pony up the cash to pay for the install (which will probably cost more that the memory in total). Sheesh.
So actually, I've nothing to complain about in relation to the memory itself. It's not making my programs fly or anything, but it's doing its job. Nice.

Great memory and a great price
I bought this memory for an iMac rev. D model. I bought two chips and each comes in its own box that's heavily padded for protection, and each chip is inside a anti-static plastic bag to prevent electrical damage. The chips fit perfectly into both slots on the iMac and I had no trouble starting up the computer after installation. I've been using my computer non stop since then and there are no side effects. My next purchases for memory will definately be with Viking products.

Good Buy
This printer is a good buy. If you need exceptional quality, spend some more money on a higher-end product. But for the the money, this printer is all most people should need. It is a little loud, but that matters NOT to me.

Great stick of RAM!
I have had no problems after installing this RAM in my Toshiba Satellite laptop. What more good can you say when it comes to RAM? If it works without problems, then I say it's good. Best of all it was free with my purcahse of the Satelite 1805-S254.

Nice product BUT does not work with all Macs...buyer beware!
Works like a dream under OS 9.2 after the newest drivers are installed. Fast and reliable!
However, does NOT work for everyone running Mac OS X. As soon as I insert a compact flash card, programs start hanging or crashing and the card reader is NEVER recognized by the OS X finder. I called Sandisk tech support and the tech said that they are aware of this issue with "some" users of OS X and will eventually get around to addressing it. Oh well, I'll keep checking their website I guess...

UPDATE: I finally got it working under OS X...Instead of plugging it in to a USB hub, I plugged it directly unto the USB port on the back of my Powermac. From that point on, it has had no problems.

Works like a charm in Windows XP
I bought one for use with a Coolpix 775, and I'm quite pleased with the way it is supported in Windows XP. XP recognizes the reader and installs its drivers without the need for a driver disk. The reader is then treated as a removable disk drive. When you pop in a compactflash card, XP executes a wizard that copies/moves your photos over to your hard drive, so the camera's software is also unnecessary. Pretty slick.

I have no major complaints about the card reader itself. It's fairly fast, it's small, and it's heavy enough not to slide off the back end of your desk. I have to admit, though, that the activity light confused me at first. It is lit solid when a card is inserted, and it blinks when the card is being accessed. Because the light remains lit while the card is inserted, I initially was unsure of when it was safe to eject the card. Speaking of ejection, it would have been nice if the reader had an ejection mechanism that worked in tandem with the 'eject' command of Windows Explorer. However, that is a minor quibble that is offset by the reader's low price.

Simple and effective
I purchased the Sandisk SDDR-31 after purchasing a Kodak DX3500 digital camera. The camera only supports Windows and Mac with the included Kodak image transfer software. Also, using the camera to dowload pictures drains the batteries and puts wear and tear on the small USB connector on the side of the camera. Since Linux is my primary OS, I had to download pictures to my Windows machine and then copy them to my Linux PC -- not an optimal solution. Enter the Sandisk SDDR-31 Imagemate. I connected it to my Linux PC, mounted the device and copied my pictures directly from the Compact Flash card. No muss, no fuss. This is the way USB should work with every device.
