    Works great for me
I purchased this card for my Kodak DC3200 and it works great.
It's about 3 to 4 times faster than the 2 Megs of internal
flash memory. I would recommend this card for anyone looking
    for faster pictures.

    Good, but not as advertized
This is my first day using this product, so far so good. It does what the product description says it should do. However, the photograph above is of a product that may exist out there, but not of the product I have, even though it certainly IS a PNY 512 Mb USB portable drive. The shape/design is a little different, but more importantly:

    1. No write/delete protection switch. If you look at the photo above and expect it to have the same switch that prevents deletion, which is present on all the other models of lower capacity by PNY - you won't find it.

    2. The lanyard on all the other similar PNY products is attached to the body of the stick, whereas on mine the lanyard attaches only to the cap. There's the potential danger that the stick may drop out of its own weight (though the cap attaches to it quite securely). If you're worried about this, carry it in your shirt pocket and use the pretty lanyard for something else.

    3. The ton of information that comes on a minidisk for this product is useless, they all talk about the other models that look like the photo above. For one thing, there's a green led and a yellow led, and I'm left to guess that the difference is that one lights up for USB 1.1 connections and the other for USB 2.0 connections, or that one lights up for Windows 2000 and the other for WinXP - who knows. Worse, there is NOBODY TO TALK TO. I can't find a link on the PNY site to communicate with their tech support, you'll find lots of FAQs but no one to talk to if you have questions.

    4. What drive letter is assigned to it when you use it on Windows systems - a total mystery. It comes up as D on one system and E on another - I suspect it finds the first available letter above C and uses that. I did assign it a specific letter on one system, but it still came up as another letter on a different machine, and I won't know until I'm back at the first system if that means I need to start re-assigning drive letters every time I use it on a different system.

If it turns out that it does find the first available letter, that's a vast improvement on previous versions, but it would be nice to have that documented somewhere.

Other than that, it works as advertized, I'm happily transferring files back and forth.

Wouldn't you know it, as soon as I make the point about the difference between the product and the photo above, Amazon was kind enough to update the photo. Just so there are no doubts, as of this writing, what you see is what you get.

      Solid, Older Memory Card
The new wave of compact memory technology is being led by the Secure Digital (SD) Memory Cards. Supposedly, they have tremendous memory quality while also enabling secure protection of stored data. Yet, being the newer technology, they are also more expensive. For my purposes, I just needed a card to expand the memory of my MP3 player. So, I was more than content to go with the SD's predecessor, the MultiMediaCard (MMC). The MMC has the exact same physical design and can be used in all the same devices as the SD. Its only negative is that it is more primitive technology. It has served my needs quite well. There have been no compatibility issues and the integrity of the stored data has been quite good. I may eventually move up to the SD card, but for now, I have nothing but praise for the MMC.

        Works okay
I've had this card for about 1 year, and it still works fine in my Kodak DX4330 camera -- which I've used a lot. 99% of the time I haven't had a problem with this card. Also, SanDisk phone support is excellent!

However, make sure that you can "review" a photo after taking it ... otherwise it means that something has gone wrong and the file is corrupted. Also FYI -- "Unrecognized file format" means that you've run out of memory while recording a video, and the video is lost :( This card only allows 3-4 minutes of video, and if there are photos in the card then the video time allotment is even shorter.

        Finally it's here!
Sandisk has started production of the 1GB SD card and they will be shipped to distributors by late Jan. 2004, according to PC World web edition. This comes almost a year after the initial product announcement, and will be welcome news for digital photographers who take lots of 5+ megapixel TIFF pictures. I'll order one when Amazon offers it and post a review later.

good basica mouse and good memory stick reader
I've had this mouse for a while now and its never given me any problems. It's optical eye is top notch and the reader/writer functions are flawless. If you want a deviced to help you transfer memory stick files and doubles as a mouse, this is it. If you're looking for a universal flash reader, this is not for you or if you're looking for a super mouse with extra buttons for web browsing, this isn't it either. It's just a great basic mouse and memory stick device, for bells and whistles--you'll need to look elsewhere.

Always buy ECC memory if your computer can use it
Have you ever been playing a game and in the middle of kicking the snot out of the last boss on the last level and then all of the sudden your computer crashes or reboots? Or maybe you were surfing a cool new site that hadn't yet bookmarked and OOPS your computer crashed. Well, ECC memory may be what you need, but it's not for everyone. First, it's usually a bit more expensive than non-ECC RAM. Second, it's still a fairly high-end feature and some motherboards don't support ECC RAM. My motherboard will accept either type so at first I had the cheapo non-ECC memory and had MANY random crashes, but when I switched to all ECC memory I have a crash maybe once every week or so (that's probably due to Win NT or a buggy video driver). I say bite the bullet and get the ECC memory.

        Upgrade to 64Mb
It's excellent for upgrade your Compaq Presario 7240 system to 64Mb. It is easy and quick to install.
I don't recommend the kit if you want to upgrade to 72Mb because is not compatible with the default 8Mb of the machine.
I started to use it a week ago and everything is fine.
