will not work with Gateway Essential PCs
This is the RAM recommended for the Gateway Essential series. Beware: it's 66mhz and the RAM Gateway installs at the factory is 100mhz. You cannot have RAM of two different BUS speeds on the same board. If you have a Gateway Essential, like me you probably have 100mhz RAM. Do NOT order this product as it will not work for you.

Why wait to upgrade, like I did?
When I ordered my first home computer I was not fully aware of the difference additional RAM would make. I doubled the amount the unit 'came with', but did not realized how high the capacity was. After adding two of these, I have realized a dramatic improvement in everything that happens, from boot times, program loads, simulator and game performance, and shutdown. The install took about 10 minutes total, with no software to load or system reconfiguration needed. Truly a good investment.

128MB 800mhz Pc800 Ecc Rambus184-pin Rimm Rdram 2.5v

    Price or Performance??
We all want that extra performance in our games and that extra few seconds off loading times, but with this Pc800 RDRAM, is it really worth the price? Certainly, the RAM provides the needed performance, with the coolant system that keeps it running extra-fast. However, this is one of the more expensive sticks of average RAM on the market. In addition, it has ECC-Error Correction Control, which, in my opinion limits the maximum performance a stick of RAM can give. Nevertheless, most home users and gamers will be satisfied with the performance they receive from this product. For potential buyers, you must weigh the cost and the performance. In my opinion, both these factors equal out, which is why I gave the product 3 stars, right on the fence.

      Not Worth the Price Premium
This card works fine, but here is the bitter truth.

The core of all the cards (known in technical terms as the "controller") are made by only a few DRAM manufacturers. Those handful of DRAM manufacturers then sell the "controllers" to the major flash card manufacturers (i.e. SanDisk, Kodak, Olympus, and Viking). The flash card manufacturers then simply throw some plastic casings on the controllers, slap on a label, and ship the cards. As long as the flash card manufacturer is reputable, has a good warranty, and has been around for over 5 years; you will be just fine.

What I am trying to get at? I simply want to make it clear that you should not buy a card based solely on the fact it is made by Kodak. Check the pricing against the other major manufacturers (i.e. SanDisk, Viking, etc.) and then make your decision.

        Beginners are invited!
I am not an electronics expert and I believe my opinions will be helpful to those who are like me, less comfortable with technology. I was unfamiliar with Memorex brand, so I was curious to see how I would like it, compared to a well known brand. And now I can say I have no problem with it.

I don't have a very sofisticated digital camera (Kodak Easy Share CX6200) and so it was not worth getting a high-priced memory card for a moderate priced camera. This Memorex has one of the best price-to-memory ratios, and so I can take almost 100 pictures without being obliged to transfer them into my computer.

It is one of the most popular memory card formats, much more popular than the Sony type, which fits only high-end equipement that is not for beginners like me. I feel pleased to know that even if one day I decide to upgrade my camera, there is a good possibility I might use the same memory card.

It has a fairly small shape (compared to others, larger and less convenient) but not so small to lose it and it is easy to work with. And most important, the quality of the pictures is better on the memory stick than the built-in memory.

If you don't have sofisticated cameras and want something simple at a fair price, this is the card you have to buy.

          Works, but beware
PNY claims that no drivers are needed for this reader to work with Windows XP. I tried both XP Home and Professional and the only way I could get the reader to work was to use the drivers on the CD. The only reason I give this product three stars is due to the frustration of trying to figure out what was wrong and the fact that PNY's support site incorrectly states that drivers aren't necessary for XP.

On a side note, I can plug in and mount the reader as a SCSI drive (/dev/sda1) in Linux with no problems.

            Works well, stores very little
This is an excellent memory card; however, it is sadly only 32 MB. I use it for the Lyra MP3 player and it is very easy to use, fairly quick storage and I have never had any problems.

            Amaze about the size
It is really amazing about the size of the memory, it even smaller than what I saw from the web, but the downsize is the capacity, I think it would be nice to have at least 16MB or bigger so that we don't keep so many pieces

              16MB Card
16MB card does its job I have had no problems with it but 64MB card works better because it holds more picture and you don't have to remove the pictures in it. The 16MB works good for pictures around the house but it is not large enough for vacations.
