Drivers won't install
I am trying to use this product with an IPAQ 5455 plus expansion pack, but haven't been able to get the Pocket PC drivers to install. Hawking Tech support has not been able to help. If you don't need to install drivers to use this on your set up then you may be ok, otherwise beware

It Works and it's fast
The only reason this didn't get 5 stars is that it could possibly be a little smaller.
That aside, this baby works great. No driver installation or other fiddling required, just plug it in. It runs 100MB in FULL duplex, so it is very fast. I use it in the lab to talk to routers and terminal servers. At home it's a fast way to load SiteScooper web clippings and to save backups.
All in all, an excellent value.

    A Piece of Junk!!!
Using Mac G4 running OS 9.2.2. 1. When plugged into a USB hub it wouldn't allow the computer to shut down or restart. 2. Downloaded newest drivers - 2 icons would appear on the desktop and still wouldn't allow shut down or restart. 3. A real pain to insert the compact flash card. Consigned to the garbage can. A waste of (Money) plus postage.

    More junk for the landfill
I have the SanDisk SDDR-31 USB interface unit. Serial number 0364469. This thing has *never* worked correctly. Can't tell if it's the hardware or the driver software. Originally the USB interface wouldn't work. After much pain and a driver upgrade, the unit only corrupted my photos about 1/10 of the time. Recently upgraded my Win-2K Pro op-sys to service pack 3. Now, the reader cannot tell when a compact flash is inserted. The OS popup gives me the message "please insert media". In other words, SP3 for Win-2k completely broke my SanDisk CF reader. This is the last straw. The next home for this unit is my local landfill...

It has worked great for me
I have had this little gadget for over a year now. I take it with me where ever I travel. Every night when I come back to the hotel or where ever I am staying I download to my laptop all the pictures I have taken during the day, without any problem. First I had an old laptop with Win 98 SE, now I have a new one with WIN XP Home Edition, and it keeps working as good as ever.

It does what it is supposed to do but 2MB is not enough
I bought this module to fill it up with pictures of my family and to use the Vibe alarm in cases where sound would get me into trouble. Hey, I almost forget about the color update for my Prism. I would buy another if it had more memory like 16 or 32, but 2MB is like having pennies in your pockets. I would suggest getting the MemPlug, which gives you a lot of features for a reasonable price.

    Nifty, but not without problems...
I was very excited about getting this product -- the idea of no longer annoying the folks around me when my alarm goes off (which is frequent, I set lots of reminders for myself in the way of timed floating events) appealed to me greatly -- but now, after having had it for a little while, I'm afraid I'm a bit dissapointed. First off, the vibration action is a bit loud. Now, this is probably a side effect of the fact that it's also fairly powerful, which is a good thing, especially if you wear your Visor in a belt-clip holster, as I do... But the amount of noise, while far from huge, was a little bit annoying. That, though, wasn't too big of a deal -- it was still a lot quieter than the speaker, and yet it was easier to detect, because I could feel it, even in noisy environments. The big deal thing was that at times it has "spontaneously" (I haven't been able to track down the exact scenario that causes it to happen -- it seems pretty random, so far... There haven't been alarms, and I haven't been touching the visor) turned itself on (i.e. turned on the vibration motor)... The only way to turn it off was to either pull the module (which worked fine without causing any detectable problems) or to go to the "test" application, and hit the "Off" button. When the visor is with you, this is a mild annoyance, but once I had it sitting on my couch, and came up to it after a time elsewhere in my apartment, and heard (ok, maybe the loudness is a good thing? ;-) it vibrating... I have no idea how long it had been on, but my batteries, which I'd put in a few days earlier, were now close to depleted. So, if you're going to use this, I suggest you put it in before going into the movie theatre or meeting or whatever, and leave it out the rest of the time. (Also note: The problem of the module turning itself _may_ not be a problem with the module itself... it's much harder to tell if this is happening with other modules, and I _have_ noticed a surprising rate of battery drain with one of my other modules installed, but not in active use. Either way, this is something to be aware of with something that takes as much power as a motor, so I thought it best to state it here.)

    Works pretty good, but.......
It's a bit hard to turn off. It keeps vibrating even after you press to turn it off. I wish this also had an LED that flashes when something comes up on the Handspring.

I don't use it much, unless I'm in a meeting. I don't bother other people when I have a message getting my attenion.

    Not the displayed model
Please be aware that the model they are shipping is not the model they are displaying. They are shipping the PC133 only model while displaying the PC133/PC100 model. The model they show is reverse compatible with older systems, but the model they ship is not.

    not fully compatible
I got this thinking it'd be compatible with my pc, but the one I got was a one-sided chip and my pc uses two-sided chips so I ended up having only 64mb more ram. I returned it and got a Crucial stick instead.

    A wonderful upgrade
I've purchased PNY memory on three occasions (once for a laptop). It has worked flawlessly each time. It's a great way to improve performance on a computer if you know what you're doing.

Also, if you find yourself unable to install an OS onto a cleanly formatted hard drive, a good "last option" is to buy one of these guys and swap it out with your currently installed memory, with the assumption that your current memory is defective. I've run into this problem and this memory worked like a charm. Again, you have to be sure to purchase the correct type of memory and you have to know what you're doing. The Memory Finder on this site works great if you have a brand name PC.

I highly recommend this brand to any who need more RAM.

    Slot TOO small
OK. Believe it or not. I purchased this item for my multimedia card and had to return it because the card DID NOT fit into the slot!

    Good USB product but...
the onDVD software included with this product is the older version and you must upgrade software in order to add audio to your slideshows. If you like silent movies this is the product for you.

I guess since I custom built my computer and used a motherboard compatible with the memory I didn't have any problems.

      Not as advertised
As stated before, this is not as described. It is only a card reader, period. Works OK, but not as slick as some others and the cord length can be an issue.

It's just a CompactFlash Card port
For what it is, it works well, and transfers the data from my CompactFlash card in the blink of an eye.

It's not what the manufacturer describes, however. It's not a 4-port USB hub, it doesn't come with an AC adapter (doesn't need one to just read/write to a data card), and the attached USB cable is only about a foot long, not the fifty-something inches as in the description.

If you're looking for a USB hub, keep looking. If you're looking to save digital camera batteries, and to download your images from the data card faster than your camera-connection would, this is a very inexpensive way to do just that, and only that.

      Never recieved it
I ordered it for $59.99, even paid for the expedited service, but two days later it was canceled. Not sure why. After reading another review it seems the price was incorrect. I thought it was too good to be true!

I have not a clue on its performance.

False price - $59.99 with Office Depot
I tried to purchase this Lexar 256 MB SD memory card in mid-May for $59.99 through Office Depot/Amazon. However, a day after I received my confirmation e-mail, I suddenly received a cancellation e-mail with no explanation. I called Office Depot & found out that an incorrect price was advertised, so my order was cancelled. Now a day later, both Internet sites still have the incorrect price of $59.99. The lady I spoke with at Office Depot said that the actual price was $75 ... so beware if you think you're getting a good buy!

      Can't go wrong...
...with this SD card. I had recently bought 2 digital cameras for an upcoming trip to the UK and needed more memory of course. I'm an EE so I started comparing specs. (with a bias towards low price). Here's the skinny:
The Lexar 32x 256MB was $60, the 32x 512MB was $170. The big brands were more yet. The best compramise in MB/$ came in at 256MB. Another issue with the bigger cards is getting over-invested in your photo storage media. If you get a 1 gig card, sure you can load it with 750 high-res pictures, enough for your whole 2 weeks just clicking away. What then if the (one) card gets lost, squished, or just craps out? The whole trip of memories gone forever! The most I was willing to risk was about 256Mb - maybe one fourth of the trip, and with both my wife and myself shooting similar pics on 2 cameras- further risk reduction.

The card... works like a charm. I've tried all 4 I bought in both cameras - all worked perfect (practiced over 100 pics getting the hang ov camera features so far). I have 2 different readers (the Kodak 6in1 reader and the little $15 Lexar USB pod) and they both read and write perfectly. I get about 5 MB/s transfer (rough estimate) to 2 different PCs (work and home), and also use the cards to transfer general data.

Best bang for the buck of all the SD cards available right now!

        Horrible!
Unless you enjoy raising your blood-pressure, don't bother trying to make this work with Windows 98. Installing per Memorex's instructions does not work. The Customer Support page at Memorex doesn't help either.

        Can't find the dang drivers
Cute little thing but the bare bones instruction sheet tells me to install what's on the CD, then remove the CD and restart the computer. The instructions go on to say that when the reader is plugged in the computer will recognize it and automatically install the correct drivers for it. WRONG. My computer recognizes the new device but wants me to tell it where the drivers are. I've tried looking on the CD and in the very folder that the reader's program is installed but my computer still claims it can not find the driver. Go to Memorex.com and you have to fill out a very lengthy form and become a user before you can get an answer and I bet after all that I still won't know where the drivers are. I hate this thing already.

        Simple, easy, non-intrusive...Great!
This is a great little USB based smart card reader. There aren't any moving parts, bells, or whistles, which is just the way it should be.

Slide in the card, open up "My Computer", click the drive letter, and there is your stuff.

I plugged this into my Windows 2000 based PC's USB port and the machine recognized it, did whatever it had to do, and was ready to go to work. I didn't have to load any drivers at all. (woo hoo!).

I bought this to go along with the digital camera that I purchased for my wife so that she could easily get pictures off of the camera. It is indeed as easy as expected.

The only thing that would make this product even better is if it would also stand on its side instead of just flat.

May not work with your laptop
I have a Sony Vaio PCG-FX370. While Viking's memory configurator may tell you that this memory is compatible, it might not be. This memory did not work in my laptop.

There is also a lot of talk on forums on the internet that claim that Sony Vaio memory slots might be defective, and therefore, new memory sticks might render the computer unable to boot.

Be sure to check your memory slots by rotating your memory sticks, before buying new modules, to ensure that you do not have a faulty memory slot.

Install and wait for the crashes.
I had this product installed by a professional. My system became unstable. Crashes resulted in the middle of worksheets.
I had the original memory replaced. No more crashes.
        I'd love to return it.

        Good purchase
I work in an office with a half dozen Sony Viao laptops. I've ordered this RAM here from Amazon and installed it on three of the computers and it works great. There is an adequate performance increase with the extra RAM that makes the money spent on this RAM worth it.
