It's much better than I expected. It's sturdy and nice looking, with all the functions as the manufacture describes. It even comes with a piece of instruction to assist you to know this tripod better. With this kind of price, I am totally satisfied. Maybe just one little thing here: I agree with one of the reviews here: It'd be great if it comes with a carrying bag. Well, it's OK by me.

I was considering spending $95 for a sturdy tripod but felt it was too much of money to spend on a tripod so decided to check out this model.
Since this model was much cheaper than the one I had my eyes on, I was skeptical about its build quality. You shouldn't. This is a very well made and sturdy product. They even include extra quick release platform with bubble level (so you know if the camcorder is placed even). This is really handy if you have more than one camera or have both camera & camcorder. You can just quickly release camera without screwing/unscrewing from the tripod. I am sure you can find better built tripod but this unit does the job for a casual user like me. I highly recommend this unit and considering its price, it's a bargain!

I was amazed with the price tag and the features this tripod was offereing and immediately switched to this one when I read about it.
Its been one of my best choices in terms of quality, fetures and price. The extra quick release plate gives you a lot of flexibility if you have two photo devices. The high - tilt adjustment are superb.

Sunpack could have been more innovative with providing a handle to carry the tripod. Providing a carry bag would have been really great, particularly when others are offering the same. But thats too much to ask for this price.

Overall this is a must buy item.

This compact tripod fufills all my needs, except for table top usage. It's a well made product that sets-up and folds-up for storage quick usage or storage. All of this at a really low price.

This was not the little pod I wanted to buy, but Amazon was out at the time. However, now that I have it, it is working great. Features I was looking for were light weight, small size, and (obviously) stable. So far, it meets all those expectations for a very small price. The legs extend smoothly and still lock down solid. When fully extended, I think the pod is quite solid, even when I am moving the camera while shooting video with camcorder. It has all the different movement points lockable so once you set it where you want it, it stays put.

Overall, its simple, solid.

Don't get too hung up on the decision if you are considering this tripod and on paper it does everything you want it to do. Take it from me, it is amazing value for money. I purchased mine from Fry's Electronics for ten spot more than here (doh!) and I'm still happy as a happy thing with it.

It does just about everything you could want a portable tripod to do, I bought it for the purpose of throwing in the back of my truck rather than trying to lug a big old studio 'pod around with me wherever I go (I hate to miss a shot for want of a steady spot) and in the use it has had over the last few weeks, it seems to be a great mix of size, features and weight. Sure, it isn't super duper rigid, sure the fluidity of the joints leaves something to be desired, but for goodness sake, this isn't some high end carbon fibre/magnesium alloy poser 'pod, look at the price! A 'pod for the common man!

In terms of negatives, I wish it cost five spot more and came with a bag (tripod bags are useful sometimes, though not something you can't do without), and a slightly more 'finger accessible' tripod screw might be nice (if you want the quick release puck for the tripod on tight, you do it with a coin, works well and keeps it compact, just a little inconvenient if you don't have a coin to hand.)

All in all, a tremendous piece of kit. Amazing price, here especially. Does what you need.

When I chose to buy this tripod I was a little skeptical about purchasing without really seeing it. I was very lucky. This tripod is everything I wanted. Lightweight. Easy to use. It has a level so that you can be sure that your pictures will be accurately shot and not crooked. It moves in several different directtions so that you can shoot from most angles. I carry this thing around everywhere I go! I thougth it came with its own travel bag, probably one drawback to it. But overall a great tripod.

I just got my CX-570 in the mail today and it seems to be everything that the review said it was. I'm just a sometime photographer but I needed a new tripod that was not too expensive, but of good quality. This one seems very solid, and has all the necessary features that I would ever need.

I just recently bought my first "real" telescope (the Nexstar 8i) after doing much research and calling several astronomers. The Nexstar 8i is simple to use especially with the updated handcontroller and optional GPS. The Nexstar 8i is light weight, portable, and easy to take out to the field. I would recommend this telescope for any serious student of astronomy.

I just finished using this tripod on a windy day, uneven ground, with a 200mm Canon L-series F/2.8 lens (somewhat heavy) using a standard camera mount (not mounted on the lens, which would have offered even more stability). The tripod worked beautifully. This is the kind of tripod you use around the house or throw in the car trunk, but not for long hikes. It lets you do anything you would want to do with a tripod except hike with it.

Using a triopd is not something we want to do often. Different
condutions need advantages that only the U212 can offer. Independent leg adjustment, can put camera on leg as well as
on bottom of center post, removeable head, buble for leveling,
guid for shoting 360% if you want. A little heavy, you want no
movement on windy day. Have had one for over 20 years my son just borroed it a year ago, started looking for another brand to replace it came back to a U212 others didn't compare.

For a serious photographer this tri-pod is an excellent choice. Carbon fiber construction means its light weight and still stronger than aircraft aluminum! The tripod comes with both a carrying strap (get a case, its easier overall) and spikes for the legs (for those outdoor shots).

It accepts all the Bogen (and Gitzou!) tri-pod heads, I used the straight bogen ball head with the quick release.

The best feature of this tripod is that you can lug it around for hours without getting tired, you can set it up in 20 seconds flat, snap on your camera (with the quick release head), take a few shots, and move on. Great for wildlife, great for outdoor sporting events where you're on the move to follow the action.

The second best feature is that its really tough. Think about that the next time your camera case dents the aluminum leg of your previous tripod. Not this baby.

Expensive but worth it, expect 15 - 25 years of hard use out of this piece of gear.

If you think about it its a little expensive, but its worth the price. If your a professional and you would use it a lot you need something sturdy and strong like this. But the hight it reaches is very good, and its still sturdy even if its at full hight or even at the shortest hight. But over all its very durable. You can't compare it to v-o556 because of the diffrence in qulity.

Bought this monopod last week. Excellent construction. Weight is perfect, balance is perfect. Was able to take super clear 3 second exposures. Extends tell enough where I can look straight into the viewfinder on my Canon 300D (I'm 5'9"). It's light enough to carry in hand for a 4 hour hike, and heavy enough to beat the tar out of anyone trying to steal my gear!

A friend of mine suggested that I use this spotting scope for bird watching as a replacement for my bulky binoculars. It's great and I like to be able to use the tripod so I can look, and write at the same time from my desk. Not a bad choice at all to watch the birds if you ask me!

I shoot in the Civilian Marksmanship Program. The true test of a scope for me is if one can see a .223"-round at 100 yards (lighting conditions apply). The key thing here is the focus. To see a .223" hole in black paper with a black background can be very demanding on a scope... this scope will do it. I don't rank it as excellent (5 stars) because that would insinuate that this scope is as good as an equivilant aperature Kowa or Swarovski. Nevertheless, Nikon has produced an excellent product. If you're trying to get a good bargain at a budget price I recommend this scope.

I purchased this for my Dad for Father's Day, and he has not stopped raving about it. He can now look out his window in coastal Maine and read the names of sloops rounding islands far offshore. The price was so good, I hoped it wouldn't turn out to be cheaply made. Thankfully, the optics are powerful, and the housing is sturdily built for years of use. Note that a good tripod is included (not made clear on the product detail page). I'm VERY pleased with this purchase.

I just got back from a seaside resort on the Pacific Ocean.The hotel provided one of these scopes on our balcony for whale watching. I was incredibly impressed with the clarity, zoom ratio, and image width. In fact, I just bought one from Amazon. A bit pricey perhaps, but absolutely without question worth every penny.
