Adds bulk- and handleability, battery flexibility.
This battery pack makes it easier for large-handed folks such a smyself to hold the Nikon Coolpix 5000, especially when using the camera in vertical format. It attaches easily (but it is easy to lose the small detachable connector hatch fromt he camera bottom, so be sure to secure it in the appropriate hollow with a flexible adhesive like rubber cement if you will normally use the battery pack). The pack also allows one to use a variety of fixed charge or rechargable AA batteries, a major boon when the native Lithium Ion batteries become difficult to charge or at the end of their lives. Highly recommended accessory (but it will take up almost as much room in your camera bag as the camera itself.)

      Three thumbs up!
This lens is even more than I expected it would be. There is no chromatic aberration (the WC-24 did have some). It is very well corrected for a ultra wide angle lens (I get no curving of straight lines), the horizon is straight even when placed close to the edge of the frame. I wish it had a lens hood and you can't put filters on it but it is a great addition to my Coolpix 5000.

      Compact Battery Charger
I have this charger (only in black as marketed by Energizer), Specifically, what I like about the unit is that there is no external cord; the plug is built into the unit and folds down for very compact storage. Red light at the bottom goes out when batteries are charged.

The best camera on the market under $1000
This is one of the greatest cameras you can buy for under $1000 excluding proffesional SLR cameras. When someone goes to a store like Best Buy and looks around for a digital camera I always see people unsure of their product choice as if they don't necessarily know what they are getting and end up with a camera that doesn't hold up to there expectations. However the olympus c-770 will hold up to your expectations and possibly even go beyond your expectations. You may look at the price and think "wow $600? I'm not willing to pay that much for a camera when I can just buy one for $400 or less!(Lets just say the Sony Cyber Shot)." Anyone who thinks that is wrong. If you compare the two cameras you will see a significant price difference and quality difference. The SCS(Sony Cyber Shot) which represents most inexpensive cameras may have alot of the megapixels youve been told about which is good but when you consider other factors contributing to the camera 5 or so mega pixels won't seem a good enough reason to buy it instead of the olympus. A few factors that play its part in a good digital camaera are these few things. Mega pixels(SCS's best version has more than the olympus's c-770[OC])Then you need to consider the type of memory card( SCS has a regular type of memory card and the OC has an XD picture card which increases the storage space significantly and causes the pictures taken to be saved more effeitiently which leads to a better picture(although not noticable until you print the picture at a large size.) Then you consider the zoom(SCS has 4 opticle zoom and 3 digital zoom that comes out to a maximum of 12 zoom, the OC has 10 opticle zoom and 4 digital zoom.) As you can see the OC has much more zoom which is something really important. A more complex thing is the type of picture format which is also very important. Sony's can't reach TIFF format when the OC can. This is very important to the picture. Then comes the focusing. OC is much faster at this and can achieve certain points of focus in even the worst of conditions. After considering all of these things the OC in result can 80% of the time achieve a much better picture. Other things to consider that the OC is better at is it's ease of use, manual controlls, variety of options "including night seen' which alows you to take pictures in any condition, extended flash for more light, looks, reliability, endurance, weight, metal body, the 4 megapixels and finally the ablity to adapt to your skills as you get more and more advanced. BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT FEATURE ABOUT THIS CAMERA IS THE ABILITY TO TAKE MOVIES! WITH SOUND! I am totaly amazed about these movies. It films in MPEG4 which films with the quality you watch T.V in! Also the sound reciever works fine. Over all I highly recomend this camera! Ignore the price. It's well worth it! "I compared it to the sony cyber shot since that camera is the best a cheap camera can get, I used it to represent all cheap cameras with the SCS's same abilitys or less.Thankyou for reading my review.

What is actually in this package...
...I took a chance that this was the same product that I saw on the Olympus web site (Olympus part number 200860) and ordered it, and it is. It contains the following items:

1 - Camera bag - this padded bag features a shoulder strap and outside zippered pocket for storage of additional cards or batteries. Width 4.5" x Height 6" x Depth 3.0"
        2 - 4 AA Ni-MH (1700 mah) batteries with overnight battery charger
        3 - xD/SmartMedia USB Reader/Writer
        4 - CAMEDIA 4.0 Pro software

For <... this is a pretty good deal, as many places will charge more than half this amount for the NiMH batteries and charger. Additionally, since my Olympus camera didn't come with a bag, this package makes even more sense.

The USB Smartmedia reader means that I don't have to turn the camera on to read the Smartmedia cards, which will be nice.

...So, if you just bought (or are buying) an Olympus digital camera, you should consider this item. The price is great and you'll need everything in it, anyways.

Olympus RM-CB1 Remote Cable Release for E-10

Well-made, essential for slow shutter speeds!
This is Olympus' proprietary version of the bulb shutter release cable for the E-10. If you do any type of photography that requires slow shutter speeds (including macrophotography and some special effects work), this little item should be among your first accessory purchases. Even if you just do "normal" photography, such as landscapes and portraiture, this will help you achieve better [less blurr-prone] results.

With very slow shutter speeds (and even some within the "normal" range, up to about 1/125), you may introduce blur into your photos -- even using a tripod or setting the camera on the ground -- just by the action of your finger pressing the shutter release button. This problem is solved by using a cable release: the motion of pressing the button is isolated from the camera by the cable. Olympus has, as with its other accessories, given more than I would have expected! This remote cable release allows the user to do a "half-button-press," as with the camera-mounted button, to autofocus and lock in exposure settings. It also has a button lock, which can be engaged for those long "bulb" exposures: the user can lock the shutter open, and then do other things (such as manipulate lighting, reflectors, rotate the barrel of the lens for zoom effects, and so on). There is also a threaded hub on which you can store the cable port cap when in use -- convenient, and nice not to have to worry about misplacing it.

The price is, admittedly, higher than the old stand-by cable or air release used with traditional SLRs, but the convenience, usefulness, and nice little features make it worth the price. If you want to improve the quality of your photos (and especially your macro and slow-speed photos), this is an accessory you must have.
