wow man wow
Great features - Easy to Use!!!For the beginner photographer, it has a full auto mode and a number of special scene modes to help take great pictures. For the intermediate photographer, it has PASM modes which give you even more creative control. The movie mode is better than most cameras, but if you really want to make movies, you should probably get a camcorder.
I have only 2 complaints about the DX7440 - the lack of a superfine compression mode and the use of a proprietary battery. However, neither of these issues are too big of a deal. Hopefully Kodak will release a firmware update at some point in the future to address the superfine compression. I ended up buying 2 backup Li-Ion batteries so that should not be an issue in the future.
In conclusion, I would recommend this camera to any beginner or intermediate photographer who wants a camera that is simple and fun to use.
Fantastic camera!!!
- Dedicated auto electronic flash, Minolta Maxxum SLR cameras
- Flash coverage ranging from 24-85mm focal lengths
- Remote sensor with Dynax 7, 9, si- or xi- series cameras
- 6 levels of variable power
- Tilts its head 10 degrees downwards
List price: $641.99 (that's 49% off!)

Great but proprietary- This flash is really powerful. The guide number is 185 (feet), it means under the most conditions your can easily shoot for 60 feet in the complete darkness. And it is probably even more important, that it is powerful enough for any kinds of bounce lights.
- Complete integration with the camera. In most cases you don't need to touch any controls on the flash. It automatically adjusts zoom and power level when you change settings on the camera.
- Wireless control. You can disconect the flash and install it somewhere or simply hold it in your hand and without any cables it can communicate with the camera. So you can use your integrated camera flash and this external unit to do some nice fill-ins.
- TTL metering. The flash makes a pre shot to let TTL system figure out what is the best exposure and power level and adjust the camera and the flash before the main shot. Very usefull when you do any bounces or use multiple flashes.
- Very fast! Because it's so powerful even if you set the flash at 1/8 of it's max power, it's still enough light for most scenes. But in this case the flash is ready for the next shot almost immediatly and you don't have to wait till it gets recharged. So far it could keep up with my camera in all situations.
So the flash is really great. The only problem is this is s Minolta proprietary stantard and you have to make sure your camera can utilize all these features.
Amazing but proprietaryThere is just one issue. It's proprietary, so it's really nice on compatible Minolta cameras and it's really ugly on everything else.
If you have a matching camera..

- 4X Digital Zoom Enhancement
- Images stored on reuseable, removeable SD or MMC digital memory cards (16 MB included)

What a fantastic cameraEverything about this camera is fantastic and there is nothing gimicky. Most importantly you are getting a solid metal frame rather than plastic. The only hitch is the battery life but it would appear that a lot digital camera have this problem.
Truly, I don't know what else to say but you won't be disappointed.
Great camera, great price - overall great!

Great Camera
great digital camera
Defective out of the box, but replacement worked fineI will be using it a lot this summer, so we'll see if the display holds up this time.
All else worked correctly. I liked the over-all size & placement of the controls.

Wonderful CameraSomething that doesn't usually get mentioned is the lens company. The lens company that makes this camera's lens is Schneider-Kreuznach, a company that's famous for its quality in lens making. Because of this quality, this camera might possibly give you overall better looking pictures than a camera that has perhaps 5 Mega-Pixels. This is a great buy for beginners and those who love taking quality pictures. There's plenty of information about this camera all over the internet- this should definitely be considered if you're looking for a great camera at a reasonable price.
Great camera for price and functionalityBoth my 14 year old and my 10 year old grandsons use this camera with ease, including the movie mode. This does not mean that this is a bottom of the line camera. It is a VERY good camera for any user ablility and age.
The down side is that it is almost impossible to find the accessories for this camera. Fortunately mine came with the AC adapter and the case that actually goes to this camera. I have not seen either anywhere online. There is also an optional remote control for this camera but finding it has proven to be unlikely at this time.
But still; overall a perfect camera for someone/anyone who does not want to take time to read a manual.
Excellent little camera - same model as the V4
- Allows charging of two C-series batteries at once.

Battey Chrager for Sony Cybershot DSC-P3 digital camera
Good to have for the holidays.
Every Sony digital camera owner deserves this...Well worth the price and less cumbersome than the TWO power cords that come with your Sony digital camera (one from your wall to the the charger, the other from the charger to your camera).
With this gizmo, you have just ONE cord. It runs from the wall to the charger. That's it. I always worry about charging my camera from the wall because there isn't enough clearance for the wire and the back panel to your camera. The result is your camera, during charging, is pushed upward at a funny angle, on one edge because the flimsy door panel to access the input jacks is flush bottom. This door feels it could break at the slightest mis-directed touch.
No such worries anymore.

- Rechargeable battery pack, NiMH batteries for Cyber-shot digital cameras
- Rechargeable type that is reusable and environment-friendly
- Use the Cyber-shot battery charger (BC-CS2/BC-CSQ2) for recharging
- Compatible with: DSC-P digital cameras models 32, 41, 52, 72, 73, 92, 93, U40, U50, W1

Little die-hards
Great for MORE than Sony cameras!I purchased the Sony "starter kit" which includes a quick charger that holds 4 batteries. Put the (dead) batteries in - a light goes on. When they're charged - the light goes off. Simple. I purchased a few sets for me and my Sony camera, PLUS a few more sets to use in the kids' toys! Very handy. I'm now placing an order for the AAA batteries to use in my book lite. (The AAA size can also charge in the quick charger that came with the "starter kit".) It feels good to not be throwing so many batteries in the trash.
Side note: when I originally tried to place an order for the batteries from the SONY site - they charge shipping PER ITEM. So when I ordered 3 sets of batteries - I forget how much they charged per item - but for example, if it was $5, then the charge for 3 sets of batteries was 3 x $5 for a total of $15 just for shipping. So at Amazon, w/ Amazon's free shipping with a $25 order - it's a great deal.
