need to read
I have had this device for about a year now and I have been happy, for the most part, with it's performance. Everybody wants to know what it is and so forth. It's so small and mobile, makes for easy travel. On top of that it is surprisingly very durable. The only drawbacks I'd like to note for you are the zoom is not very powerful and the pics when taken in zoom function are not crisp. Additionally the software that is needed to run the product through my computer is nothing to brag about. Actually it slows the rest of the computer down so much at times it will lock my system up. Overall I do recommend to all the purchase of this model and for the price it's a fair deal.

Great
I bought this for my boyfriend about a year ago and he absolutely loves this thing. He brings it everywhere he goes. Everyone is always asking what it is & think it's the coolest thing around. The battery lasts long and it's been working good for over a year with no problems. It's a gadget guys' dream.

Works as advertised
I got this card to work with a SmartMedia adapter for my Handspring PDA.

I haven't had any problems at all while using this item. The extra 64 megs of space is great. My only problem with it could be the slow speed of the card, but that could be due to the fact that it is attached to a PDA.

Rating: A definite buy

This is a good and very afordable product
My friend got this product for his rio 500 so he could hold more music. We thought it would be a peice, because of the price, but it turned out to work quiet well. It just plugged in and puff he had a card that could hold as much as his unit for under 50 bucks. i would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a smart media card, and the price is great for a solid product. (it won't break easy because i droped it twice).

Very good allrounder
I had the need for a product that could be used for: 1. playing MP3, 2. dumping photos 3.Viewing photos and 4. Portable data storage. Along with the Archos products this was the only device which can do it all. I selected this because I prefer the "gameboy" design since it protects the screen well. In fact, I was so impressed with the specs that I was prepared to pay about $170 shipping(to south africa) and run the risk of losing it since there is no support outside US/Europe at all. It all paid off(so far). Fortunately it arrived intact and I have had the device now for 3 problem free months.

It plays music with exceptional quality and photo dumping from all card formats are a breeze with the very flexible optional adapter. TV connection also works well. The video only supports Motion JPEG - MJPEG.AVI files. I have been able to look at .avi videos taken with a Canon camera successfully. However with a downloadeable translation tool from their web site, many other formats can be translated and it works. The translated video takes up a bit more space after translation. Since the device firmware can be upgraded, one hopes that they will come out with more video codecs. The only glitch i found is that the operating system can be very slow when you have large directories. With 80GB of dispace available, a directory can become too large very quickly. That requires a lot of organizing if you have lots of music to store. I also requested from the support people to confirm (before I ordered)whether I would be able to read a Memorystick Duo (with supplied adapter) but there was no satisfactory answer. Battery life is not great, about 3 hours when playing music only, but that should be expected for a device such as this. When only using it for dumping photos, it lasts for days.

A nice feature is that it can read .M3U playlists created on our PC and you can create playlists on the device itself.

An all in all impressive product which have given me countless hours of joy(so far) and I would recommend it for sure. In fact, I have not seen a device on the market yet for the price that can beat it.

One of the better digital storage devices out there
-Easy User Interface. Plug and save for your compact flash card without having to turn the unit on if you are in a hurry.
-Nicely designed exterior and 3.5 inch display.
-The screen resolution in review mode wont allow you to determine sharpness absolutely but definitely will allow you to review pictures and show them to friends.
-There are smaller units out there but this is a nice compromise for size and functionality.
-This unit is a hard drive,so don't expect to take this running when you listen to you MP3 player.
-It has good sound quality when using headphones.
-My only complaint is the "case" is just a felt bag, I was expecting something more durable.

Needs more camera time
I really expected the battery to last a bit longer. I really can't go more than one or two uses with out charging. I am going to purchase a second battery out of fear of not having enough juice when I need to use it.

No complaint - works as advertised
A spare battery is not a strong must for the P10 since the battery live is pretty decent but better save than sorry.
Works just like the one included with the camera.

Costly but Functional
When faced with buying a telephoto lens of this price, one natually looks to cut corners.

I can tell you from experience, don't. The cut-rate brands sold on Ebay (Phoenix, Opteka etc..)and elsewhere are simply junk. It's not that the photos taken with the the off-brands lenes are just bad and corectable via Photoshop, it's that they SO bad, that the autofocus on my Sony 717 simply can't self-correct enough to make the lenes even usable.

The VCL-HGD1758 works perfectly with very little/no loss of quality. I ended up buying one after trial and error. Learn from my mistake!

Your other options for a fine lens at about half the price are are the Olympus TCON-14B, Olympus TCON-17, Olympus B-300 and the Olympus A-200. They all work equally well on the Sony 707,717 or 828 but any of these non-Sony lens will require an adapter or step-ring to compensate for their non-58mm threads.

This is a great, albiet costly product. I sometimes question my own wisdom in buying a lens that is about 1/3 the price of the camera for only a 1.7X improvement in zoom (from 5 to 8.5 zoom) but I can't fault the quality.

Increased Zoom with small downside
Having owned a Sony DSC-f707 for a year now, I was looking to increase the optical zoom capability. This new lens fullfilled my objective. On the plus side, the images are clear with no detectable distortion. On the minus side, this lens is BIG. Not only does it take up alot of room, it's weight is significant. I found myself having to be very aware of my hand hold to prevent motion artifact.

Good Starter Camera
This is a good Camera if you just want point and click. No having to worry about file formats (only does jpg) and focusing .If you need to do things manualy buy another camera. The LCD is easy to use and the internal battery is nice touch since you don't have to buy batteries. The main drawback is if you forget to charge it you can't just buy batteries. The software is easy to use both on the camera and supplied for the pc. It also supports a sd card which is really nice as well. Like I said before this camera is for those of us who just want to take quick pictures when were out without much hassle.Overall I am happy because that is all I want out of a camera. Much better then buying disposables or a cheap 35mm camera.

Very good deal
I Got this camera last week, ...
what makes this camera distinctive is it's touch and very sharp LCD , brilliant body design and slim size, it comes with rechargeable battery which saves batteries drain. it's very easy to operate even from first time, resolution of this camera is minimum requirement for you needs. Only movie mode is not available in it which is the only the drawback I found.

Very pleased with this camera
The first thing I like about this camera is that it is priced the same as some of the USB 1.1 cameras, but your getting firewire technology WITH a card! The card comes with 3 firewire ports so you have two extra for a video camera and one other item. I read the two reviews on the Pyro camera without the card and tried the recommendation of NOT installing the drivers; just putting the card in and plugging in the camera. I, as well as that reviewer, am running WindowsXP (mine is the Home Edition) and it worked like a charm! The stand works perfectly (and is also height adjustable) and while video chatting with my aunt and uncle in Michigan, I was able to hold photos up to the camera and they could see them perfectly!! I know from experience not all web cams can do this.

Now, the thing(s) I'm not as thrilled about, but can live with. This camera has very few software adjustments that can be made manually. (I did not install ANY of the chat software because I already have what I need, but did install the amcap software, which is where I found the options to make the few adjustments if needed. I set mine to auto.) On my end, the picture looked good, but I could see a very, very slight snowiness. My computer is maybe 5- or 6-feet away from a 5.8GHz phone so I don't know if that is the reason. My relatives said it looked great on their end, but I wanted to see for myself. I went to my mother's house and had my kids get on and do a video chat with me. I was VERY, VERY pleased to see that the picture and lighting was PERFECT! Couldn't be happier! I have a window without a curtain on it that is behind me and when you move out of the way, the picture goes black. When you cover the window or step in front of the camera...not even completely, the picture is perfect! And, no snowiness! That made me VERY happy!

The other thing about this camera is that I believe the company has discontinued either this camera or all web cams so support on their site, although there is some there, is limited. I have not tried to email or call them so I can't comment on that.

I bought this camera for the firewire technology, the fact that the card had 3 ports instead of just the one, and for the price. And, although it doesn't have a lot of adjustments, the picture quality is just what I hoped for so I have no complaints. I also bought one for my sister-in-law so she and her husband could (hopefully) do video chats (he is in Iraq. Support our troops and God Bless all of them!)

Top Quality... Hefty price
I use this product for the Canon G1.

The quality of the photos i have taken are great, and i'm really happy with the pics. Huge Resolutions, a good printer, and a decent overall effect.
