The Dock is a hassle
Not for GrandmaPROS:
1. The dock is such a huge benefit, no cables to connect, camera sits on top of dock perfectly and after the press of the only button on the dock it transfers the files over to the computer, EASY.
2. It recharges the battery while on the dock (*see below) so you don't have to spend money on batteries and don't have to fuss with a seperate battery charger.
3. Picture quality is pretty good for 2meg, slow shutter but great color tone in daylight.
4. zoom is nice and zoom displays in viewfinder as well as lcd.
CONS:
1. Easyshare software is just awful. Ofoto's own software or Shutterfly's is signifigantly easier to use. Kodak's software try's to run ofoto's website within the program for an awkward experience. There's no button to delete a photo, you have to right click which isn't easy for the above 50 crowd. When you click the button to email photos the layout makes it look like a vote card in florida. Organizing photos was a nightmare and my mom continually got confused on where all her photos went. blah. Just use ofoto's own software or shutterfly, they're free and incredibly improved buttons and layout.
2. The camera's navigation controls are very bad. The 'thumb stick' control makes it very easy to accidentaly choose a wrong option as the arrow keys are easy to press when you hit ok and vica versa. My mom while trying to delete a photo hit the right button which loaded a different photo then pressed delete and deleted the wrong photo. When you press delete kodak, it shouldn't be easy to accidentatly move to other photos, this is horrible. how about just press the delete button twice to delete a photo. It's nice to have the delete button there. Make it work!
3. The rechargable battery pack THAT SHIPPED with the dock doesn't seem to charge fully with my camera. The camera manual says the batteries should be used with the dock, and the dock says the batteries are not okay for the camera. What's up with that?
4. Share button on camera is useless. So many menus after you press share, tiny lcd screen and bad thumb navigation just makes it a pain. It's a button she will never use.
conclusion:
Better software, better buttons, and better navigation would have really helped. If I did it all over again I'd buy a cheaper 2meg camera and a usb memory reader.

Shutter Problem
Small in size with tradeoffsThe default sharpness setting seems to use cheap sharpening algorithm. It's better to set it to soft and unsharp mask filter later.
Great image quality and many features in a mini package- Great color management, sharpness, large contrast - overall - very realistic images
- Large resolution 3 MPixels
- 3x optical Zoom 37-111 mm which produces very good and sharp images
- Rechargable Lithium battery which lasts through the day
- compact battery charger (100-240V)
- wealth of information about exposure data on the LCD display
- Compactflash Memory Type 1 - important when coming from Canon
- auto and manual exposure mode with shutter speed range 15 sec to 1/2000
- many more features
Con:
- LCD display quality does no match up to image quality - not important but annoying and reason for 4 instead of 5 stars! Not good enough to use for the manual focusing mode as it does not allow to judge correctly in focus or out of focus
- no additional 'low power' display with basic information on number of exposures flash mode or makro
- makro mode only in wide postion of zoom - a sacrifice to the small form factor
All in all a great small camera for every day use and well worth the money

- 2x digital zoom lens with autofocus
- Included 4 MB CompactFlash memory card holds up to 36 images
- Connects to Macs and PCs via USB port

video cam
For the price, it can't be beat! We're getting him a USB PCI card and this camera ASAP. It's a pain to switch the cables back and forth and rebooting the computer so the printer will work, the transfer of data is highly increased through USB, and USB takes up less system resources. I greatly underestimated the value of USB. With the rebate, I bought the PCI card and this camera at the same price as his Parallel Port Logitech camera, but they're not the same in terms of quality. This is a must have!

Faulty charging
Ideal for new computer users no scanner needed. Photo EmailYes... ok,you can buy a memory card for your "EasyShare" camera to take/hold more pictures. Then what? How do you remove the pictures from your camera so you can take more pictures?
Answer: Use Kodak EasyShare Camera Dock.
With EasyShare Camera Doc:
1. Recharge your cameras rechargeable batteries. (These batteries come with Camera Doc.)
2. Transfer pictures from EasyShare cameras to your computer by the push of a button.
3. Easy camera interface connection
4. Reduces if not eliminate the need for scanner.
Ok, so what if you decide you want a "hard copy" of a photo from your computer, how?
Answer: Use a good to high quality photo paper in your printer.
This camera doc is ideal for e-mailing pictures to family & friends. Good for the new computer user as well.
ALERT: KODAK Stand-a-lone FUN pix Studio, NO PC !!!!Now, the Dock can be used with a PC which is the standard setup.
ATTENTION Non-PC Users: KODAK provides a complete economical stand-a-lone system. You already have the DX series camera (if not, I recommend the DX3600 - 2.2 megapixels - up to outstanding 8x10 pictures). Now with the EasyShare Camera Dock you now have a battery recharger and the one button picture transfer capability. Now all you need is the KODAK Personal Picture Maker 200 (Outstanding pictures up to 8x10 - see my review), (ink jet printer) ink cartridges & KODAK Photo Paper. The docks fast USB cable plugs directly into the Picture Maker 200 directly!!! NO PC for those who love fast & easy photo processing.
The KODAK EasyShare Camera Dock comes with; Camera Dock w/fast USB connector & cable, KODAK Ni-MH rechargeable battery pack, AC adapter and Quick Start Booklet.

GarbageThis is what i got: Unnatural blurry pictures, 4 AA batteries run out after 10 shots, no options, slow shutter speed, zoom sucks, have to wait forever between pictures, uses old compact flash, slow transfer rate (serial port, 1 min per pic!), software sucks (wont install on newer versions of windows), no lens cap, nowhere to hold on while taking pictures.
Please, go and get yourself a real camera. You can get one 10 times better for the same price. Try Cannon, Nikon, HP ...... Kodak is not the anwser!!!!!!

not too bad..the webcam feature is great. the picture quality is excellent. in fact, i almost never refer to the DSC-350 as a digital camera, but a webcam as the webcam's picture quality surpasses that of the still digital camera function. i've seen a lot of pictures from other webcams around the internet, and the thing most have in common is picture coming out grainy. this is what's fortunately missing from the DSC-350-- the grain. pictures from the webcam function come out as clear as day (well, provided you have a good light source. i keep a lamp next to the computer when i use the webcam feature). the only drawback to the whole webcam thing, though, is that i had to look around the internet for a driver since the one that came with the camera didn't work on my PC.
maximum pixel size-- 1024x768-- is just right-- for amateurs like me. if you're looking to use this camera for personal purposes (i.e., a webcam on your homepage, pictures with your friends), it suits the job just fine. however, this cam is not for those looking to use this for professional purposes. for that, you shouldn't even be looking at this camera.
Good value for money and acceptable quality1) only 700,000 pixel resolution
2) manual focus
3) no flash
4) no LCD screen
for 1), well, if you want more you'll have to pay commensurately more for it... but the quality at this resolution is absolutely fine for the computer. In fact, much more and it's a pain to e-mail as the file size gets too big. It has great focus (I took a photo of my pet rat about 1 inch from her face and it came out great), and you can recognise the people in the photos - what more do you want from a fun snappy camera?
2) manual focus is not a big deal, it has guidelines for distance on the lens when you turn it so as long as you can judge the difference between 0.5m and 1.5m it's easy. The software can sharpen up unfocussed pictures pretty well too.
3) no flash is not so great, but at least the batteries last longer.
4) People think it's terrible not having an LCD screen, but it's no different from an ordinary camera! You really need a screen when there is no memory so you can clear out the bad photos and not waste what limited space you have. This camera has a whopping 8mB of memory which means it can store 145-200 pictures so you can snap away and dump whatever you don't want when you download it onto the PC
Overall I found it fun, easy to use, easy to download the pictures once you get used to it and very fun to manipulate them and change the colours. All my friends have new portraits now! I will be buying one for my sister and also my parents for Christmas...
