Nice phone
This phone got a lot improved from the previous model of V300. Compare to V300 plastic cover and low resoultion of color, this phone sure gives you more of each things. A unique design with the metal cover, the bluetooth supported, 64k color and you can go with actual MP3 ringtone on it! It sound a lot better than the way V300 sound. The reason I am not giving it five stars - because battary life doesn't last long, the phone is a little bit haveyer than what I have excepted, the phone somehow lagging bad when you call out and receive calls.

Pretty damn good, if you can live with the address book
I moved from Sony Ericsson T68, so my comparisons will be based on that as a benchmark. First of all, let me say that on paper this new fashion-conscious flip-phone is about the most impressive you can get: Quad-band, Bluetooth, VGA camera, speakerphone, 65k color LCD, dual internal and external displays, 1000 name address book, office tools (calendar, notes, alarm clock, etc.), polyphoinic *and* MP3 ringtones... you name it, it has it. It's small, sleek and relatively light. It even has pulsating color-coded ring-lights on the flip cover! If it's features you want, you can't go wrong with this.

But I don't give it 5 stars, so what's amiss? Well, for a start the packaged battery is abysmal. It barely makes it through one busy day without a recharge, and certainly not if you use Bluetooth heavily. Motorola still uses trickle chargers whereas most of the other manufacturers ship fast chargers as default, so it even takes a long time to recharge. I've heard that the optional extra-strength battery will more than compensate, but that's an extra charge and honestly, poor battery life is simply inexcusable.

Secondly, the phone book and office tools are still as brain-dead as all Motorola phones. The phone book doesn't have a simple "search" function, which means that if you want to call "Sumo" you can jump to the first "s" entry and then you have to scroll through "Salem", "Shahid", "Shujat", "Smock", etc. etc. all the way until you get to Su-. Verrrrrry annoying. Also, what's the point of office tools if you can't integrate them with your desktop? Well, you can but you need to purchase extra software from Motorola, and this software isn't the best. Again, Nokia and Sony supply this software free of charge so what's the deal here?

In the end, I think the pros outweigh the cons, but only by a bit. There are workarounds for each of the issues I've encountered -- I can buy a larger (and more bulky) battery, I can jump to "t" in the address book and then scroll upwards instead of down, and I can use Bluetooth to exchange one business card at a time to sync it with Outlook and the Palm.

On the plus side, hey, it's great to have a decent quality phone camera (it's actually not that bad!), quad-band roaming (with good signal reception!) all over the world, a beautiful bright color screen, and incredibly good looks. Plus, now I can use a Bluetooth (wireless) hands-free kit which doesn't get entangled with the car seatbelts. And that, I think, is the ultimate benefit here.

Great Phone!
I have been waiting for a phone with Bluetooth technology, as well as a phone that will not become obsolete in a few months. My wait is over! I walked into the Cingular store near me and they had just gotten in the V600. With a 2 year service contract, I got the phone for $200. Expensive these days for a phone, but worth it! This phone feels solid, unlike some other phones that feel like they could break if you look at them the wrong way. The phone has everything I needed and wanted. Some complain about the camera, but, hey! Did you buy the phone to talk of take pictures with? There isn't any phone I have seen that will take a picture better than my digital camera. So, when I hear or read people complaining about the camera, it makes no sense. The sould on this phone is clear. It is a Quad band, so I am not worried about not being able to use this phone anywhere. I wish the phonebook would list numbers by catagories (family, friends, etc) but it is easy to get to a name by just hitting the number that corresponds to the first letter of the name. I am enjoying this phone, which is something I have never been able to say about a cell phone before.

What are you using it for?
I bought the FD87 thinking that I would never run out of media on long trips; I could always go buy more disks, or erase some shots. Unfortunately I didn't consider how inconvienient that would be. Lugging 40 floppy disks around Disney Land along with a bulky camera was not fun. Taking it skiing was a whole other pain in the rear. Another problem is the inherent unreliability of floppy disks. I have lost many shots due to disk errors. I liked the Mpeg mode when I bought it, until I discovered you cannot stop the camera once you begin recording. This is stupid. The camera takes good pictures, if your activity is taking pictures. Do not, however, buy this camera if you plan to take pictures while involved in any other activity. It is very impractical. There are two good points though. The battery lasts forever and the camera formats disks about 20 times faster than a PC.

GREAT CAMERA
THIS CAMERA TAKES GREAT PICTURES. YOU HAVE THE EASE OF A FLOPPY DISK. YOU CAN PUT UP TO THIRTY PICTURES ON THIS DISK DEPENDING UPON THE FORMAT YOU USE. ALSO, THE DISK ARE CHEAP, UNLIKE MEMORY STICKS. YOU HAVE NO COMPUTER CONNECTIONS TO W0RRY WITH. JUST INSERT THE FLOPPY DISK INTO YOUR COMPUTER AND YOUR PICTURES ARE READY TO BE TAKEN OFF WITH THE SOFTWARE SONY PROVIDES. IT ALSO COMES WITH A RECHARGEABLE BATTERY AND A POWER CORD. ...I AM GLAD I PURCHASED IT.

Great camera- no memory cards needed!
The thing that attracted me most to this camera was the fact that I didn't have to buy one of those $100 memory sticks. I can, if I were planning to take a great deal of photos and don't want to carry extra disks around, but it's greta for people like me who just want to use it for recreational purposes.
I was at first turned off by the size, but this is part of the beauty of being able to save the files directly onto disk which inserts into the camera itself (which means the camera has to be the size of a floppy- which roughly it is). Besides, The size is a good fit to the hands and makes shaky hands less of a problem.
The zoom is great. You can really get close-up shots from a distance without compromising image quality or color. The display screen on the back of the camera is larger than on most, which makes it easier to choose which photos I want to keep/delete without popping the disk into the computer to take a closer look.
This camera has plenty of fun features to keep anyone entertained for a long period of time, and the battery life is great. The charger reharges the battery quickly when it does need to be charged.
The photo quality is great both indoors and out, night and day. There are differet settings for landscapes, people, etc, as well as light, and they do make a pleasing difference. This camera can be used in any situation.
Overall, I am very happy with my purhase. Sony is a terrific brand, after all.

It is okay.
I just got my meade binoculars/digital camera. I believe the binoculars are excellent. The camera part can use some work, but for a product in its infancy, its kind of fun. I am still testing the camera part, but I do believe the price is a little high. The casing is plastic, but it appears to be pretty sturdy. It is also a bit heavier than my celestron binocular/digital camera (with no LCD). Overall, for a little fun and something new it is okay. DEFINITELY, NEEDS TRIPOD CAPABILITY, WHICH THIS ITEM DOES NOT HAVE. IF YOU ARE VERY SERIOUS ABOUT GETTING AN ITEM SUCH AS THIS AND YOU REALLY NEED IT FOR SERIOUS PIX TAKING I WOULD NOT BUY THIS ITEM UNTIL THE TECHNOLOGY IMPROVES, BUT IF YOU WANT IT FOR FUN AND THE PRICE GOES DOWN A BIT, THEN GO FOR IT. I AM KEEPING MINE. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO ADVANCEMENT IN THIS FIELD.

Pleasantly Surprised
After reading some mixed reviews I was skeptical, but I wanted the product and no other had as many features. Besides, I figure you get what you pay for and this was the most expensive of the bino/cameras.

The bad news first: The item feels somewhat flimsy despite its 11/2 pounds. It's made of plastic; you wouldn't want to drop it. The flip-up LCD screen appears vulnerable on its lightweight hinged base. This base rubs on an internal cable, which may wear, causing future problems. The battery cover fits so loosely I have to hold it in place with a rubber band or the camera turns off.

The good news: Most of the plastic (except the battery cover) is heavy duty. The LCD screen can be left down most of the time so it's out of harm's way. You can't see it in bright light anyway and it's only needed for the initial setup and to view pictures. Power is readily maintained with the application of a rubber band to hold the battery cover in place. The binoculars are great. The 2MP images are excellent to my non-professional eye and accurately duplicate the view seen through the binoculars. Resolution is even sufficient for further magnification with photo software. The menu and controls are user friendly. One of the best features is the internal
flash menory, which retains images even if the batteries fail, and the SD slot for expandability. Plug n' play means no potentially faulty external drivers. The device is recognized as a hard drive and images can be opened in any photo app..

I'm satisfied. It's a keeper!

Instant Replay Digital Binocular w/ Display & Video
The product is user friendly. I am able to use all features of the binocular without referring to the manual after less than an hour spent reading the manual and becoming familiar with the controls, menus and other features. I am very pleased with my binoculars. They are comfortable and easy to use while viewing a sporting event. I used them for every play while watching a football game and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The binoculars' field of view was perfect and I used an SD card to expand memory to allow recording of the entire game. The resulting pictures both still and movies were excellent quality. I am looking forward to using the binoculars at baseball games, for fishing trips and during other outdoor activities.

Language Selection
Sharp VNEZ1 MPEG-4 is a great little camera until the batteries fall out when the power is on, and then when you put them back in you find your menus are in Japanese. Then you get a Japanese person to look at it to change it back to English and they tell you there is no menu option to change the language selection - which rings a bell because I never saw an option to change the language selection when it was in English!!!

Hi-tech toy
The picture quality isn't comparable to "regular" digital cameras, but then again - this isn't a regular camera! The Internet Viewcam is extremely small and very easy to handle (point and shoot). Barely OK for taking simple still images (640 x 480) and OK for making small MPEG-4 movies (max 320 x 240) that you can distribute over the Internet. It's really simple to transfer pictures and movies to/from the camera via the included smartmedia floppy adapter, but the bundled software is crappy. The Internet Viewcam is more of a toy than anything else (because of the poor picture quality), but I would recommend anyone to buy it as it's the coolest hi-tech toy I've seen in years.

Great product, but only for web video
This is a great product, and appears to be the only one in its class (filmless/tapeless camcorders). And, it's even smaller than it looks in the picture. It makes reasonable quality video recordings -- up to an hour long (with a 32MB SmartMedia card), or longer if you use the time lapse mode and an (included) AC adaptor. (You can upload the video files to the web; Sharp recommends POPcast, a free video hosting service.) It also has a still photo mode, although the resolution isn't so hot. Four alkaline AA batteries supposedly last for a full hour of recording time; my experience so far has been consistent with that claim, and I haven't bothered purchasing long-life (not nicad) rechargeables. You'll definitely want to buy a larger SmartMedia card than the 4MB that comes with the camera; SanDisk and other manufacturers make 32MB cards for about $60. I also recommend adding a USB SmartMedia reader for another $40 or so, although the included floppy disk SmartMedia adapter works on most PCs with internal floppy drives. And start watching for sales on alkaline AA batteries; you'll go through a lot of them with this great camera!

People are missing a good point!
I have read several write ups on this camera and I am a DSC-D770 owner. This is one of the best SLR style digital cameras you will get for under 800.00. If I had my choice I certainly would have moved to the Olympus E-10 Digital SLR Camera but at a proce tag of 2000.00 I thought that a bit out of my range so I settled for the Sony DSC-D770 for it's features and the fact I did not need a card reader in order to download my pics. If I was a real diehard user of digital cameras, certainly cameras above 2000.00 is where I would obviously be looking. But my DSC-D770 is great!

I use it professionally
I use this camera to illustrate the many magazine articles I write, and editors and readers like the results. It is not widely realized that to get double the resolution you need four times the number of pixels. So to go to 3 megapixels won't even double the dots per inch as published. I'll move up when I can get 5 megapixels for under $1000.

Another factor often missed is that unless you can fill the frame, you are wasting a lot of pixels. So the zoom range is often more important than pixel count.

Some of the other comments on this camera seem uninformed: I plug the PCMIA card that the camera uses to store images into my Mac PowerBook, no software, no drivers are needed. I then drag them right into Photoshop or into a folder. It's fast and easy. The same holds for PCs that can read these cards.

I like this camera's good handling, true SLR nature (I wish it had depth-of-field preview, though), ability to take closeup and other lenses, and good control of exposure. My photos are seen by tens or hundreds of thousands of people, and nobody can tell that I've taken them with an under-$1000 digital camera, even when published in a glossy magazine. At its price, it gets five stars.

Great camera for the price
I've been waiting for over a year to find a decently priced digital camera that has the feel of an SLR. When I found this camera (at [money] at [a local store]) it fit my needs exactly. For the price, you cannot get a better approximation of a real camera.

I'm seeing complaints about the software and pc card adapter, but it works fine for me. The other complaints seem to be more about the camera's quality, which I'm finding is excellent if you learn something about how it takes pictures. Adjusting the white balance is critical for indoor and night time shots, but this isn't simple.

I didn't want a simple camera though. If I wanted point and shoot, there are plenty of other choices out there. For the price and the features, this camera is one of the best choices out there, and you can find some incredible deals now that it isn't being produced anymore.

Disappointing performance
The camera will not take an acceptable picture under incandescent lighting - it will generate a very red image. Even out of doors, the image is badly blurred around the edges; only the middle half of the image is sharp. The "preview image" (ie the viewfinder) is very blocky and in grey only, making it hard to recognize where the camera is pointing. The display of images after they have been taken uses a very poor color mapping - much worse than what the Palm IIIc is capable of.

A great little camera for the money.
Sure, you can buy a much higher quality camera, but not one that weighs 1.5 ounces and extends the Palm's length less than 2 inches.

I have a Palm IIIxe and run everything on it. I'm overclocking it with afterburner, I'm running half a dozen hackmaster hacks and this camera STILL works perfectly. As one reviewer stated earlier, It DOES take a few seconds to adjust to the light - especially if it's extremely dark or light - but then it performs wonderfully. I have personally gotten much higher quality pictures when I'm not trying to work in very low-light conditions. I agree that using the screen as a viewfinder isn't much better than a framing tool, but then, I don't use the 1-square-inch display on the digital camera we have at the office to display images for people either. The Palm isn't much on displaying these pictures because of its grey scale limitations. For the price and convenience, I am perfectly content with the quality and very good color accuracy of the pictures. I have not had a single problem with the camera or hot synching the pictures to the PC. (Hey, It's a LOT faster than transferring a few web pages with AvantGo)

I have a keyboard and a modem for my Palm so this was just another extension to increase it's functionality. It won't take up much space or add much weight to my briefcase and the batteries last a long time. And, since they are the same size as the Palm uses, I don't have to stock several sizes.

A Great Sub-$100 Digital Camera for the Palm IIIc
This camera works really well with a Palm IIIc. It was on salefor only ... as Deal of the Day at ... so I picked it up and then came back to Amazon for a Palm IIIc with ... off and no tax.

Since this is a low price "fun camera" which doesn't have all the fancy features like other higher priced ones, there are several things you need to know in order to get the optimum quality.

1. Download the latest driver from Kodak. Don't use the one that came with the camera which is probably the outdated v1.00 or v1.20. By using the latest driver, your picture and preview quality does improve.

2. Obviously, it doesn't provide flash. Don't try to take a picture in the dark unless you have abundant light source or if the object itself provides extremely high luminance that brightens up the entire area (for example: movie screen, monitor, outdoor fireworks, etc). Daytime especially noon when the sun's out provides the best natural lighting.

3. Always use 640x480. Never use 320x240 and don't bother with the 2x zoom feature. The 2x zooming simply crops the center part of the screen and shows it to you at 320x240. For a nice close up view, just walk closer to the object but no closer than 4 feet away. Otherwise, it might look blurry.

4. Take still shots. Make sure no objects are moving and keep your arms still. You can tell if you'll get a nice shot by observing changes in pixels on your preview screen. When you've reached the point where you can hardly see movement in pixels, that's when you take the shot. Keep it still after you press the Date Book button until the preview screen sharpens up and Palm starts saving.

5. Use an 8 meg Palm. Each 640x480 jpeg requires roughly 200k of free space. If you have about 4 megs of free space like my Palm IIIc does, you'll have room for saving at least 20 pics. On my Palm m100, I have only 500-600k left so that gives me say...3 pics? If you're using Palm m100 which only has 2 megs, I really wouldn't recommend getting the m100 version of the PalmPix.

6. After you sync your Palm, edit the pics by resampling it to 320x240 or 50% of the original resolution for highest quality and save it in 16.7 million color .bmp or use the lowest compression in jpeg. A "sharpen" filter might also enhance the photo depending on the type of object in the pic. For printing, keep it at 640x480 and use 300 dpi to get a nice print out sized roughly 2.1"x1.6". It's perfect for a personal portrait.

Overall, this is an excellent little gadget for capturing images to be used on a website or emailed to family and friends. The hardware itself is very limited but you CAN produce quality pics if you learn to work with it. PalmPix is by far the best digital camera I've seen that retails for under ....

mac users, please don't bother. on the box it clearly states it's for any OS higher than 8.1, but apparently 9.0 is too much for it to handle. the software hasn't been updated since 1998, and on logitech's website the section for this particular camera is so old and neglected it's coated with dust. the FAQ for the pc version of this camera is ten miles long, but of course the mac FAQ is only two questions. but not like that's anything new for mac users. why is this webcam still being sold?

Reliable, Easy-to-use Webcam
For those simply looking for a low-end Webcam and not intending to do anything requiring serious quality, this is a good choice. The software is easy to install (on an iMac, which I use) and includes plenty of options... including the ability to use this device as a "security camera." The image quality is rather grainy, so diehard multimedia creators should definitely steer away from this item, but the average home user is likely to be quite satisfied with this small camera.

I use this connected to a seven-port hub, and the camera still works quite well despite having many other devices also attached to the hub. However, whenever I activate the software for the camera, the Zip drive and floopy drive - both connected to the USB hub - shut down. This may be a potential drawback, especially for those for whom directly-connecting the camera is not an option due to the need for other peripherals.

Interestingly, I also have MyVideo (USB video capture/outout device) connected to my iMac. Whenever I open the MyVideo software for video capturing, the image from the QuickCam VC shows up in the MyVideo window! This almost certainly means that both devices are using the same set of system calls or video drivers. Therefore, if using the QuickCam VC in conjunction with other video-related equipment on the same computer, a few "surprises" may appear. (In my case, this simply means switching the video source within the MyVideo program.)

easily the best
This camera was great! it is easy to use- just open the program, aim right acording to the picture that appears on the screen, and click the button- it is that simple! The only downfall I found was that the pictures it took were a little dull, as in the color was not very bright- but this is expected from this type of camera.

WORST CAMERA EVER.
All I have to say is the pictures from my vacation are all ruined. Thanks to this cheap camera that can't take pictures all my photographic memories are lost.

I own 4 cameras two digital and two 35mm, and I know what I'm doing. I decided to take this one because it was new and small. I really wanted a small camera and I was so happy. I got home after the vacation, hooked my camera to the computer (which was rather frustrating and difficult - and I'm a computer programmer) and discovered out of the 93 pictures I took, only 5 were keep worthy (even [though their quality also turned out unsatisfactory]). They were grainy, dark, blurry and most of them out of focus. I played around with it some more after I discovered that and had the same issues. Like the others here have mentioned, the outdoor picts come out "ok" but only in great sunlight. The flash is worthless. Bottom line, you get what you pay for.

Please DO NOT buy this camera.

I'm convinced that the positive 5 Star raves for this camera are written by the folks at iclick in an effort to increase their high star rating. Read them, they all sound like they are written from the marketing department. DO NOT BELIEVE THEM. The folks at iclick are lying and deceiving the digital camera consumer. This camera is pathetic.

Yes I am upset. All those pictures ruined by a camera that makes claims on how great it is when all it is, is worthless.

Please do not buy this camera.

Good for the money, but
I've had this little camera for about 3 weeks now. I like the price and the size, but has enough drawbacks that I'm going to return it. First, the FAQ says that it will hold 15 high quality pictures. I couldn't get more than 5 on my camera. No problem, you say, add a CF card. The FAQ states that the camera will take 128mb CF cards, but not in my camera. When I finally got a response from their tech support, they could not provide a solution other than to buy the iClick brand 32mb CF.... I responded asked for more information, like, "Which CF 128mb card WILL work in your camera?", and haven't received a reply. Photo quality? I liked the outdoor photos and most of the indoor photos looked good. Some looked a little mottled, but I could have lived with that if the camera would hold more than 5 photos! I guess I'll look for something else.

picture perfect
This camera is great for people just learning about digital cameras and for those who already own several cameras. It is small, easy to use, and takes great pictures, and a great price! I would recommend this camera to just about everyone.

It does what I need it to do.
I got the Fotoshow mainly to serve as a zip drive and as extra storage for my digital camera when I go on vacations. As a zip drive, it works as expected. It's nice to have the option to take it with me as additional storage for my digital camera. I thought of going with a digital wallet, but the thought of carrying (and dropping) a harddrive with all my pictures in it worries me.

There are a few things that I think would make the Fotoshow better.

1. The card slots are useless when the Fotoshow is connected to the computer via USB cable. It would be nice to be able to use the Fotoshow as a card reader.

2. The power transformer is big and heavy. It should be smaller and lighter for travel.

3. Option for battery/portable power.

4. Faster operation when using the TV.

Overall, I like the Fotoshow. I would like it better if Iomega would fix the items above.

Versatile equipment!
I purchased the Iomega Fotoshow when I purchased a new PC. I knew I wanted to get a digital camera eventually, but I wanted a ZIP drive immediately. At first, I used this exclusively as a ZIP drive attached to my PC and it worked like a charm. No better or worse than other ZIP drives I have owned, so it is certainly not worth the price if that is all you intend to use it for.

When I purchased my digial camera, the Fotoshow's extra features proved to be very useful. I just pop my compactflash card and a ZIP disk into the Fotoshow and press one button to copy my photos onto the ZIP disk. Piece of cake! I can see this being a really handy tool if you go on vacation and want to dump your photos onto a disk and don't have access to a PC. The fotoshow is not that tiny, but smaller than a laptop or desktop computer would be to carry with you when you travel. And, at 100 or 250 MB disks, you don't need many disks to tore your images.

Another great feature of the Fotoshow is the ability to connect the it to a television (through a coaxial or RCA connection, cables included). Using this feature, you can selectively copy the contents of your memory card onto a Zip disk, perform some basic touch-ups on the photos (like removing red-eye and cropping), or you can give a slide show presentation through your television! All this through a small remote control! What is also nice is that you can give a slide show presentation of images on your ZIP disk as well. So, your presentation can be from images generated anywhere, no just your digital camera. Very, very cool!

I do have some complaints about the Fotoshow that prevent me from giving it a 5 star rating. 1) If it is plugged into a PC and you are using it as a ZIP drive, you cannot read or copy from your memory card. Only if your computer is off or the Fotoshow is disconnected can you copy images to a ZIP disk. No big deal, really. 2) Also, a feature I would REALLY like would be to have the ability to give a slide presentation on a COMPUTER screen directly from a memory card, but alas you can only view a slide show through a television.

Three years experience
A friend asked about mine and wanted to buy one. On checking the Iomega site to send him a link I discovered they no longer make this. It is a grat product. I don't know of any other way to view digital pictures on a TV other than directly from the camera if it has a video out jack. The Iomega software works pretty good except that you have to put the pictures in viewing order from the Fotoshow. If you put them in order from your computer in Windows Explorer for example the pictures will revert to the order that Fotoshow had them. Other than that it's a great product.

It is okay. You just have to find more things to do with it
I purchased the Intel Pro Pack camera with the Create and Share Software. It is okay. I have a Celeron Chip inside so I don't get the fastest video but it is very decent. For beginners, I would highly recommend it. Keep in mind, your lighting needs to be set right. I had some problems with pictures in relation to the amount of light.

With a little tweeking and stuff, you can make great use of this camera.

Great little webcam for netmeeting
I have this webcam for over two years now and it worths every penny. I use it for video chatting and playing games.

Modified for astrocam
After a week of trials and errors, I succeeded modify this affordable webcam to be my astrocamera. It works great! More info on "intel cs330 astrocam" can be found on google.
