Great Device
FORGOT A FEW COMMENTS__This CD/Radio is awsome. AIWA comes through again. Easy to operate, good spond, BIG numbers on the clock. I recommend this cd/radio. Plus it has a remote.

Price + good product = VALUE.
I paid 50 bucks for a refurbished unit. Nice product good sound (not great but for 50 bucks hey!) Easy to program, lots on features such as a weekend alarm. Holds 3 CD's. Lots of radio station program storage. PLUS a remote control.
Only negative... remote does not control the volumn.

Great clock radio!
Based on the first review, I sent for this clock radio, and have to agree... it's great! The sound is wonderful, the CD changer works great, and the instructions are easy to follow for setting up alarms and CD programs. The sound is crisp and clear, and I like having many of the buttons on the unit itself as well as on the remote.

The only things I wish this clock radio had were a dimmer option for the light (though I must admit that the light is not glaring in the least, and it's not a gigantic problem) and a bass booster.

The listing on Amazon said that the unit could play CD-R/RW's, so I had some concerns when the instructions said that they might not work. However, so far I've had no trouble with playing them.

I was originally looking for a clock radio that had a tape player as well as a CD changer... but they're not even made anymore unless you get them in a mini-system, which was far too large for my nightstand. However, I'm going to get the hardware to transfer my tapes to CD, which I'll then be able to play on this clock radio.

I'm really pleased with this unit and have NO regrets about purchasing it. I too, did a whole lot of research (online as well as in stores) before deciding on this particular CD clock radio. It's a nice-looking radio, and I'm glad I got it!

Great Funky Style And Sound Quality
This is actually a review of Sony CFD-E75 CD/Radio/Cassette Boombox (Silver), exact thing except color. I "borrowed" this from my wife when I found I didn't have any cassette players (except in a car) and had to listen to a cassette. I was impressed by the sound quality for spoken word cassettes. Everything sounds normal like a human is talking! I've also listened to music cassettes and music CD's and am just amazed at how good this sounds. The "wheel" for selecting CD tracks is a great idea and is used for tuning the radio when in "radio" mode. That makes it easy to find your station.Speaking of which, this model has a "real" three section, rotating antenna, not a skinny little wire hanging out the back What won me over though was the FM AND AM reception on the radio section of this item. We live in an area where the big broadcast antenna are on a hill real close to our home so we've always had problems with radio reception. A good adjustable Bass with the Sony "Mega Bass" button does change the sound noticably. I like the styling and I keep the thing on the night stand next to my head so haven't needed the remote. I guess I'll let my wife keep that. HA HA

This was a good purchase. She swears she got it for considerably less than the price shown. But even at the price shown, I think it's darn well worth it!
Highly Recommended!

Great product!
I LOVE this boombox. I got it for Christmas, and it has never given me any trouble at all. Worked right away, great sound too. I highly recommend it.

Love the Remote
I received this as an Xmas present to use at my office. Great sound and I love the remote. I had to place this on a high shelf in my office and having the remote makes it easier to operate!

GREAT SOUND - GREAT RECEPTION
This radio is hands down the best clock radio available in the world.

I love radios and own the Tivoli Model One, the CCradio, and now this one.

The sound quality AND reception on FM are great on this radio, and better than you will get on any Clock Radio. Probably any radio other than the Model One which is equal in reception on FM, and also has great sound.

But I did not expect the not only great reception, but amazing fidelity of the AM on this Boston Acoustics, which is better than it is on the Model One, and just as good as the Ccradio.

The best feature of this radio, is that you can mix AM and FM stations together in the presets, which are not from just 4 or 5 buttons, but in a rotating knob. You can put stations in any order, and have an FM station, than an AM, or any combination in the presets, and not have to change the band to AM and FM like in all other radios when using presets between the two.

Sleep functions, snooze that you can extend snooze periods just by how many times you hit the snooze button to add more snooze time, just a fantastic radio that you will never be sorry you purchased, and realize that the high price was well worth it.

Only a few decades ago, most people did not have stereo systems that sounded as good as this radio. Don't be fooled by it's size, the bass response on this tiny radio is as if it had a subwoofer attached to it.

Usually in a radio, the AM is an after thought and never any good, but the AM tuner in this radio had as much quality in design as the FM part.

Just listening to a voice of an announcer on an FM station will be enough to realize how amazing the sound is on this radio.

I will be buying more of these radios for other rooms of the house.

I still love the Tivoli Audio Model One. I, as many others, can not find a favorite between these two, they are both great in their own ways and I love both of them equally in sound and reception on the FM, but for a bedside radio, then THIS one is the winner hands down.

I took my Ccradio away from the bed, and replaced it with this one.

Great sound and easy to use
This is a great clock radio, small footprint but BIG sound. Very easy setup and the external antenna connector lets my rooftop antenna pull in some great stations over 75 miles away. You will not be disappointed, it's worth the extra cash. The bass out of the single speaker beats the Bose FM/CD tabletop players hands down.

My Favorite Clock Radio
Boston Acoustics loudspeakers have been a part of my audio system for twenty years, but I bought the Recepter because the company claimed its FM reception to be good.

They weren't kidding. No other radio or tuner I've owned beats the Recepter in that regard, and most of them cost more. It's exceptionally good at picking out weak and distant signals from among closer and stronger ones. The radio has connections for specialty aerials, but I've gotten along fine with just the wire antenna that came with it.

The simple controls are nearly perfect. I like having rotary volume and tuning controls, instead of all those tiny push-buttons that populate a lot of electronics. The station presets and clock functions are very easy to use, and the display is informative and easy to read.

None of this would mean much if the Recepter didn't sound good, and it does. The vented cabinet and "BassTrac" circuit make for more bass than I thought was possible from such a small radio. Enough, in fact, that it can be a bit much if the Recepter is placed too close to a corner, or too far back on a bookshelf. Keep it a little distance from a wall or other boundary though, and the boominess goes away.

I'm an FM radio nut, and I tried out a number of other hi-fi clock radios: the Bose Wave, Cambridge SoundWorks 730, and Tivoli's Model Three. I liked all of them, but the Recepter was the best combination of features, sound, and price.

Great little clock radio
I got this from Walmart for only $25. The buttons are very simple and straightforward. I don't need to read the manual to operate it. Sound is not bad. Bass is weak though.

Best CD Clock Radio I Found
Read the other reviews on the other clocks... lot's of complaints.

I have had this for a week and it works great and the controls are simple.

One great feature is the alarm reset. You just hit the button to turn off the alarm without having to reset it again for the next night. It also has a snooze.

Waking up to CD is great (it does play CD-Rs). A minor complain, but it always starts on the first song regardless where you left it the night before.

A true dream machine
I have had my sony dream machine for over 10 years. It's survived numerous moves, countless spills, high school, college, exams, interviews, and a seriously grouchy un-morning person. The huge snooze button is a big plus and it's almost impossible to mistake it for the tiny "off button" in the back. Only now is my dream machine starting to lose some of its luster and I fear I may have to buy a newer model. Luckily, they still make it! If you want a simple, consistent, and durable alarm clock, the dream machine is for you.

great little item
This is a great little item at a rock-bottom price. It must have been designed for those who do not like buttons everywhere. This clock is very simple to set and works like a charm.

Great quality for its size.
We bought this radio/CD player for the kitchen so we wanted something that wouldn't take up too much space. When we found this one, it was love at first sight, and it has not let us down. It is small, attractive, and most importantly, has beautiful sound quality. We have had no problems with either the radio or CD player functions.

Just perfect!
After researching, looking at, and buying (then returning) several compact CD/Radio combos (I wanted it to go from kitchen to bathroom, but didn't have room for a boombox) I can finally rest. The Sony Liv Shower Radio is small, easily carried around with its attached handle, and has great sound--no distortion as volume is increased, and no background fuzziness. The one quibble, which I only noticed in the store as I compared it to the matching new Sony Dream Machine CD player, is that the Dream Machine gets much louder and still maintains the integrity of sound--but you have to plug it in, so you aren't going to be carrying it anywhere. That being said, mine is in the kitchen right now on a low-to-middle volume setting, and I can hear it out here in the living room--so it's loud enough, for sure. Love it!

I love it!
The Sony Liv Shower Cd Player/clock radio has far exceeded my expectations. I live in a rural area, and with other radios, I have always had trouble bringing in stations clearly. The Sony Liv has clear, crisp sound, excellent fine tuning, and the CD Player and clock are an added bonus! It's an excellent package.

I highly recommend this product and would not hesitate to purchase another.

GREAT product!
After reading many reviews on many different shower radios, this was the only shower/radio/cd player I've found with good reviews, so I decided to buy it. I love it! It's nice being able to listen to the news in the morning in the shower, and the sound quality is great, totally clear. The only cons Ive found is the price, but it IS worth it, and the volume doesnt go up as high as Id like. Other than that, it's the best Ive found.

Very Nice
Hey, my name is Sam, and I'm a 14 year old kid who lives in New York. I agree with the person who said that the past reviews seem written by all the same people, but I'm not complaining. I enjoy this product, but there are a few downsides. 1, an unneccesarily fold out slot for the cd. Instead of a space the size of a cd opening up, the whole damn player opens up. Very annoying, but it doesn't detract at all in the big run. Okay reception, I'm not complaining but I'm not jumping for joy. Great sound, great backlight function, nice, bright and orange. Slim, can fit mostly anywhere. Hmm... wall mounting was pretty easy, so don't let that stop you. Looks nice, blue and fuzzy looking. Buttons are not placed conveniently, but it is no struggle. A handy little remote is one of the biggest plusses, a feature I cannot go without. 30 radio presets, 15 am/15 pm. Only complaint here is that instead of pressing 1 and going back to your 1 station, you have to cycle through 2-15 just to get back to that one station. Quite the hassle. I'd just like to note, I'm a very critical person, so everything I say is a quarter as bad as I say it is. I'm everybodies worst critic for some reason. Nifty little gadget. I recommend it, and it has a digital tuner to boot. For the most part, this thing has convenience all over it. Great alarm clock timer features by the way.

Peace

Sam

Outstanding. Until it falls over with a thud.
It's no Wave, but it's not bad except for the flimsy stand that keeps the player from falling over. It barely does that. And there's the odd need to expose the entire CD player to insert a disc. But the player sounds pretty good, reception is OK and if you hang it securely on a wall until it's time to throw it in a suitcase you'll be fine.

Casio AJ-1 Flat-Panel CD Player with Alarm Clock and AM/FM
So it looks like a scale! Once you've gotten over that little detail you can start to enjoy all that it has to offer. Digital tuner, CD player (that will play CD-R's), better than average radio reception, an enhanced bass boot that works well, and a nifty remote "to boot." What else could you ask for? Sure, it's not going to fill the room like your home stereo, but you'd be silly to ask it to. Solid sound from the two front mounted speakers. Find myself using the remote a lot, even though I sit less than 2ft. away from the radio since the buttons are on the top and difficult to see.
