Terrible Viewing Angle
can you find a better one for less than the price?Cons: I will be the first to admit that the viewing angle is not great--but think of it this way: when I toss and turn in bed at night, the last thing I want to do is look over and see 3am flashing at me. At least I know the alarm will go off at the right time. But if you need to see this clock from across the room, keep looking.
Design should win an award
- Remote control provides the convenience of 10-key direct remote control of compact disc, AM/FM tuner, volume and power on/off
- CD Player with 1 Bit D/A converter provides accurate playback and the most natural distortion-free CD sound
- CD-R/RW playback compatibility plays all compact discs recorded on personal computer and audio component CD recording units
- Digital Synthesized AM/FM Stereo Tuner provides the most accurate drift-free tuning of AM and FM radio stations
- Mega Bass sound system produces rich, deep, bass tones for more powerful overall sound

It didn't last
this thing is definitely worth the price
Great Style and SoundI don't know why others are saying the sound is poor, but mine sounds great!
This was a good purchase. She swears she got it for considerably less than the price shown. But even at the price shown, I think it's darn well worth it!
Highly Recommended!

Timex: The one that keeps on ticking?
I Love This AlarmFirst the down sides.
- The indiglo light is horrible and you can't see this alarm from across the room, or even a few feet away when your eyes are all beary from sleep. The light sensor isn't too great either, so I pretty much leave it on or off.
- The switches & knobs (alarm on/off, am/fm, brightness, frequency) on the side are, well, on the side, and you have to sort of figure out which is which, though I remember vaguely which is which.
- The buttons can be hard to push, but I think they're easy to push.
- It can be hard to tune in your favorite radio stations.
What I like about it:
- Two Alarms! YAY. I set the 2nd one for 14 minutes after the first, which gives me 9 minutes then 5 minutes then 4 minutes snooze (then alternating 5 and 4 minute snoozes).
- The layout of the buttons on the front is pretty good. The slow back/fwd fast back/fwd on the left side is great and makes it very easy to set the alarm time. The alarm button also stands out enough that you hit it without accidentally hitting the time button.
- The snooze button is easy to hit. Then again, I'm not a morning person, so maybe that's a down side.
- Backup battery.
- Heavy-Duty construction.
- The light dims, so it becomes a regular LCD display.
If I were Timex, I'd improve this clock by adding/changing:
- Better backlight, they should user-test this. I realise Indiglo is a big brand and probably helps sell this product, but they really need to improve on this for this particular application.
- For the size & weight you'd think it would also do nature sound or something (not that I'm a fan of them), but it doesn't.
That's about it. I like this alarm a lot, if you want a dual alarm clock and can deal with the indiglo (which dims so you don't have a light blaring in your face all night), I highly suggest this one.
Many useful features-Shows date and alarm time on the display ALL the time.
-Great battery backup (see story below).
Bad:
-Display is hard to see from far away, because it is a backlit LCD (it looks cool, though).
The Story:
When an ice storm hit Kansas City, my power was out for almost a week. The Timex, because it has an LCD display, continues to display the time. When the power is out, instead of the radio (if you have it set to radio), it beeps--so you won't sleep in. After a week of no power, it still had the time on the display! I couldn't believe it. Timex did a great job designing the internals of this.

Quality Issues1. Controls confusing to use (& remember at 6 am!)
2. It made a humming sound on FM stations at low volume when using headphones.
3. CD player made clicking sounds when playing. At low volumes this is really distracting.
4. It began making random clicking sounds at all hours of day and night about a month ago. Bad wiring?
5. The "automatic" time feature is misleading because it only works if there are batteries in the unit. They install these at the factory, set the time, & ship it out. It uses the batteries to keep the time until you buy it. If you unplug the unit and remove the batteries, it has no idea what time it is when you turn the unit back on. You have to manually re-set the time.
6. Today it fell off my 12" high nightstand (cat) & the LCD display packet broke. So, now I can't tell what time it is.
I'm not buying another one.
Problem playing CDsClack-clack-clack! That's the sound you'll hear too often when you put a CD in this player. The CD itself seems to sit on the turntable fine, but the part of the lid that rests on the CD is loose and often misaligns. So when you lower the lid and spin up the CD, it clatters.

CD-R and CD-RW Compatible!Being able to set the alarm and work with the options requires skimming through the owner's manual. Once you do that you are fine.
There's a LED light that indicates if your back-up batteries are low on power or not.
Overall I think this is a good buy. Waking up to music is SO much better than waking to a beep. I can't believe you're reading this.
It all depends on what you want.
