Why?????
Let me get this straight. It's an alarm clock for the shower? Who falls asleep in the shower? If you do fall asleep in the shower being late is the least of your problems. Maybe a gauze dispenser for patching up that cracked skull would be a bit more handy. How 'bout it Coby?

Piece of Junk
If you don't mind paying 40 bucks for something that won't last a week, then this is for you.

Piece of Junk
I purchased this item and it stopped working in less than a week. What a complete piece of garbage. My guess is that water gets into it and causes it to stop working. If you take it out and let it dry for a few days, it'll work for a few minutes before taking another dump.

Poor Visibility
Trying to discern the time or phone number at night or day in the prone position is virtually impossible due to the poor quality of the lighting display . Who wants to get up to read the time or phone number ?? Not me.

don't buy GE
Their products are full of glitches. This bedroom phone stopped displaying the Caller ID correctly the first time I bought it. After I brought it back to the store for a replacement, the time was always wrong. It would show the right time when a call came in, but would get stuck there until the next call. Look for similar statements about other GE phones and take the advice not to buy a GE phone.

What a piece of garbage!!
Don't waste your money on this item. You can't read the display at all, so you never know what time it is. The base is so light that when you answer the phone, the base comes along and falls off the nightstand. GE, you should be ashamed of yourself! I always trusted that brand name.... until now

Be warned - this clock radio has no CD
Be advised, this is only an AM/FM clock radio - and that's it. The "CD" part of the name of this product couldn't be more deceiving, since the product does not contain a CD player of any sort. If you're looking for a CD clock radio, keep on looking.

Average to below average clock radio
I could almost give this 3 stars, but not quite.

I wanted a red lighted radio because it is not as bright as the green. I was also wanted Radio wake option. The problem I found with this radio is it is hard to get the tuner to stay on the station and the station. So I worried every night "would the alarm hold the station and wake me or should I turn the annoying alarm sound on?"

The buttons cover all the features necessary for most needs, but I would have liked to have had a touch turn off button as apposed to a switch. It is hard to find and work when your just waking up.

Good points are it was a good price, there is a backup battery availability, snooze, red lighted.

Exhanged first broken one and now second is down...
I liked the combo phone/alarm/cd but found the product to be the worst quality of any home electronics I have ever purchased. Both the original and the replacement lost keypad functionality within a month of use making it impossible to dial out. Also both phones slowly lost all contrast on the caller id lcd so that you couldn't make out any display after a couple of months.

Almost sure to break within a few weeks of light use.

Phone did not work
I ordered this phone/clock radio and while the electronics seemed to work fine, the phone was dead and would never produce a dial tone, no matter what I changed or did.

Great machine but problem with phone unless you have mfg tip
I have had this machine since early 2000. Everything works great when you read the instructions thoroughly. Great sound, nice alarm features such as wakeup to radio, CD, and buzzer. You can set all three alarms. When you turn off the alarm in the morning you do not have to worry about turning the alarm for the next day, as it will remember your settings. However, the problem with the phone not being able to dial out at times is a legitimate complaint. I called the manufacturer and they provided three tips that have worked but all are temporary fixes. If the phone stops working such as not being able to dial out or the caller id display is locked, first replace the 9 volt battery that is used for powering the features on the handset. Generally, this will fix the problem. If this does not fix the problem, the phone may also have been affected by a surge. Just unplug the cord that goes from the handset to the base of the phone and leave it disconnected for an hour or more. This should reset the handset. However, their may be ongoing problems where you may have too many phones on a phone line through out your house. Each phone has a REN (Ring Equivalence Number) on it. This phone shows 1.3 and is displayed on the black sticker on the handset. If the other phones simply stop working, check the total REN (Ring Equivalence Number) value of all the devices sharing your phone line. The total REN value on any one phone line should not exceed 4. If it does, some phones may not ring or even work at all, and computer modems will tend to drop the line or not connect properly. Most normal phones and computer modems have a REN of 1. If your other phones or PC modem is one of several devices on the same line and you have trouble, try removing one or more phones. Long extension phone cables can also cause similar problems and should only be used if absolutely necessary. The REN value is usually displayed on a sticker on the underside of the phone (eg, REN=1). With the phone annoyace I would have rated the phone 1 star if I didn't have the manufacturer's tips. If your phone does not have the problem, I would rate it a 5. Since I was able to use the tips with my phone problems, I rate it 3 stars.

Would be great, but clock is inaccurate
The other reviews are true. This clock gains time for no apparant reason!

Easy to use & small, but the clock ruins your day
I'm just on my 2nd one. I also like the features--easy to set the time, 2 alarms, good radio presets, and the ability to turn the lighting all the way down.

Clock #1 gained 45 minutes overnight. I promptly returned it. Last night I tried Clock #2 -- same basic 45 minute overrun. Waking up 45 minutes early is not my idea of how to start my day on an even keel.

RCA--What is going on?

3 strikes and you're out
I tried 3 of these clocks because I liked the size and profile of the clock as well as the alarm time display. The first one gained 17 minutes by day 3, the second clock I tried gained 17 minutes by the 3rd hour! I'm currently on clock number 3 and about 5 minutes into it, it has gained 1 second... we'll see what happens over the next couple days. Although after reading the 2 similar reviews I'm ready to look elsewhere. I'm wondering if it is just a bad lot of clocks as we all experienced our issues in Jan 04. Perhaps someone from RCA can shed some light on this.

not worth the price
I received this as a gift and know the Grundig name typically as a quality product. The sound was so poor I decided there must be something wrong with the unit. I called the Grundig tech support and explained that I heard a very tinny sound with no bass at all. The tech without pause said "Thats typical with all of those units." He further continued to say "you'll get some bass response with the headphones but thats as good as it gets." I couldn't believe something with a $150 price tag was known to sound so bad. Do not waste your money on this product.

Garbage
Unfortunately, my husband bought this piece of junk well before I'd had a chance to read any reviews. I think it's all been said before, but this CD player is a complete rip-off, and an expensive rip-off at that! We were wondering why we only got a couple hours out of a set of batteries, but apparently it's not just us; the problem is inherent in this poor excuse for a CD player. And if you still think you might like to buy one, you can have mine. I'm going to buy something that works.

Anti-shock makes CD worthless
I purchased this to wake up to a CD. It takes 40+ seconds to fill the buffer for the anti-shock system. During this time, the CD stutters. Extrememly annoying. You can shut the anti-shock system off, but only after it begins playing. By that time I'm awake and irritated.

Other than that, I like it.

Piece of Garbage. . .
. . . that's putting it nicely. The CD player - when it works - skips if you even so much as look at it. The sound quality is same as those tin-can string "telephones" that we used to make when we were kids. My expectations were pretty low when I ordered it because of the low price, but if I knew then what I know now of this product they couldn't give it to me.

Tricky, but crappy
There's another product that looks *almost* like this, but also include a fog-free mirror, more CD features, and better sound quality. Go for that one instead!

Wouldn't turn off!
This radio lasted 3 days in my shower. Then suddenly it just wouldn't turn off. Even though the power was supposedly turned off, it would suddenly emit noise. I finally had to remove the batteries...and return it to the store!

I wish I had read these reviews first!
Ditto on all previous reviews. Nothing to commend this device.

Horrible product
This is a horrible, horrible product. I keep it in my baby's room. When the power goes out (as it does occasionally) and comes back on, the alarm is blaring. It woke my son up today for the LAST time. I took this sorry product and put it straight in the trash. The sound quality is lousy, the commands for the CD player and confusing and don't always work, and then there's that alarm problem. Don't waste your time on this junk.

Keep looking!
I wanted an inexpensive clock radio & CD player with relatively good sound. The CD quality is great, but after owning the clock for just one month, the radio tuning dial broke. Now I must guess the stations, as the indicator is stuck between 94 and 96. If you plan to use this clock primarily for the radio feature, there have to be better products on the market!

garbage
I purchased this radio several weeks ago and it's been thrown in the garbage. It has poor radio reception, and tape player is noisy and it does not have clear sound.

Junk
It doesn't get much worse than this. The audio quality is similar to sticking your head in a bucket and scraping metal objects around. The tape player ate one of my tapes. The tuner never seemed to work in the AM band... you could go 1/4 the way on the same station/static. To trust this alarm clock in waking you for you future is as smart as tricking yourself into thinking you'll get up 30 minutes after you hear your neighbors car start. Buy this only with a surplus of aspirin...

Not Very Good
I was not impressed with this unit, even considering its relatively low price. I purchased it because it is one of the few currently-manufactured clock radios that contains a cassette player. It is cheaply made. The unit I received was defective: when I tried to play a cassette, all I heard was a loud howl. When I accidentally hit the "sleep" button (the buttons are pretty close to each other), I was unable to stop the radio from playing and eventually had to unplug the unit. After some research I found that TIMEX (a company with at least a bit of a reputation) doesn't even make the unit--they've licensed their name to another company. They should be ashamed.

A waste of money.
Too bad there's not a zero star option. I bought this primarily for a kitchen radio. The tuner and volume knobs are so smooth and so tiny you can barely turn them--certainly not with wet or sticky fingertips. The tuner is analog, not digital, so you're lucky to tune in a station at all; it's impossible to avoid interference. Nor is it an option to set it to mono to cut the background hiss. I suppose the CD player works and sounds fine, so I've put it in the laundry in case I ever get around to ironing. If not, taking it to the consignment shop will likely cost less than shipping it back for another $20.

Poor Quality
I received this radio and had to ship it back the same day. The CD player worked once and never worked again. The knobs are extremely small and hard to turn. The overall craftsmanship of this item is poor. I would suggest you try another unit.
