not as cool as it looks
Form should follow function.....The buttons are too small. Settings are relatively intuitive, but the unit just takes a lot of uncomfortable fiddling to operate. Seems that the designers were primarily interested in making a unit that looks cool... it lacks a dimmer for the overly bright display, has no provision for an accessory antenna, and has a complex motorized plastic door for the CD compartment that seems destined for mechanical failure.
I purchased this product two days ago because years of waking up to beeps, buzzers, and bells had led me to fear and dread waking up in the morning. The first one I brought had tracking problems that caused the CD player to skip and stutter. I returned it yesterday, and proceeded to test all the comparable units available in an attempt to find a better one. I wound up getting another one of these instead of switching to another product for only one reason -- the sound. With all its flaws, the sound quality this unit delivers just flat blows the competition away. All the other comparable models sounded like the music was coming out of a paper cup. Horrible. I stress tested the new unit and evidently got a decent one -- the CD player performs perfectly, with no skips or stutters -- at least on its first day of use. Time will tell, I suppose.
This time I also bought the two year extended warranty so I can swap it when it breaks.

Clock Radio Review
You get less than what you pay for!--==THE BAD==-- ** The radio dial tunes very badly ** The caller ID is very difficult to see and poorly lit ** The handset cord is only 12 inches long coiled up and if streched more than 18 inches you will pull the base from whatever you have it sitting on ** the phone cord that plugs into the wall is permanently attached to the base set and can not be switched for a longer one, this is not good if your phone jack is more than 2 feet away, you would have to buy an adapter to extend the cord ** The worst thing about this is the fact that you can hear music from the radio bleeding into the phone line, the radio and alarm are OFF, this is very annoying, I could live with the other short comings, but this is the worst thing about this, if anyone knows how to solve this issue please send me an email
++==THE GOOD==++ ** I Like the bright display, even dim is very bright ** I like the oversized snooze button **
Clock Radio reviewAlso the button lay out is very confusing. I still have to take a long look at it to figure out how to set the alarm time. Not an easy alarm clock to operate.

doesnt work
Not a great product
Poor unit for this price.
The most amazing feature of the SRL50 is that the unit does not display the time when playing the radio or a CD. You have to press a button to display the time, and then it is only shown for four seconds. What's the point of having a CD-clock-radio that doesn't display the time? With this product, you will need to buy a separate clock.
