Beware of defect
Great Monitor!Although the screen not perfectly flat, it is much flatter than my old Hitachi. One thing that impressed me is that other than vertical and horizontal adjustments, I needed absolutely no other geometry adjustments (rotate, trapezoid, pincushion, etc., needed no adjustments). Maybe this was because of the flat tube inside?
When I first booted up the computer, the image did appear washed out, but that was because this monitor is so bright. After lowering the brightness to almost the lowest setting images and text look very sharp. I use it at both 1280x1024 (85Hz) and 1600x1200 (75 Hz). I enjoy the flexibility of the different resolutions a CRT monitor offers compared to a LCD.
For the price, this 21 inch monitor offers great performance. I would buy it again!

Slow WorkhorseHowever, to save energy it goes to idle after 15 minutes or so, and takes about 5 minutes to warm up, calibrate and get up to speed. If you get a paper jam, it will again require the whole cycle. Thus, it's not really suited to be a personal printer. It is best suited for specific large jobs, not as an everyday printer. Everytime I write a one page letter, cut a check or do something simple, I have to wait and wait, and it's definitely exasperating.
Also, it's not really good as a photo printer, although I have often used it as one.
I hope the new color laser series is better.

Great Flat Panel
One of the best I've ever haveThe view angle is wide enough.
This is a great LCD monitor.
Pricey...but an very, very good LCD monitor.First, the speakers that come with this monitor are barely adequate. Good for basic sound but that's about it. And finally, this was my first LCD monitor; knowing I'm paying more then I should when compared to other quality LCDs with the same warranty period and bad pixel policy. With that said, there are monitors just as sharp as this VX800 for much less money. If you're comfortable buying an LCD with a top of the line brand name, ViewSonics and Samsungs are who to turn to. But when I buy my second LCD for my other computer, I'm going to look very closely at LCDs from Hitachi and Envision. These two companies make terrific LCDs with great warranty/bad pixel policies for significantly less money.
You won't go wrong with any VX series LCD, but you'll also do well spending less money for the same quality buying a Hitachi or Envision. This VX 800 gets 5 stars based solely on the quality of the monitor. If price was to factored, I'd drop the rating to 4 stars.

Apple Sets the Gold Standard for MP3 DevicesI run my iPod on a Windows XP based PC. At the time, I had to buy a IEEE 1394 FireWard card for my machine. I was more than glad to add this functionality to my PC because now I can hook up other FireWire devices. At this time the Software used to organize music on the iPod is Musicmatch and not iTunes. Again Musicmatch does a great job for me and I continue to use it. There is no synchronization device with this iPod. Just connect it to your Firewire Cable and the PC and Musicmatch software will recognize it. If your Firewire Card supplies power, you will be able to recharge the iPod as it is connected to your PC.
This thing is as Apple advertises. Apple Advertised getting about 1000 songs on it. I have ripped most of my CDs in 128 kbps format and have about 600+ songs on it so far. With still about 2GB of free space, I should just reach the 1000 song plateau. If I went to 160 kbps format for all of my songs, I would probably see a substantial reduction in the amount of songs I would be able to store. The 128 kbps format should be just fine. This device never skips. I take it in my car and to the gym and it never skips. I advise buying a car adapter for about $20 that goes into your cassette deck (the one that portable CD players use works just fine) and then you can have your iPOd in the car.
The device itself is a nice looking one. There is a jog dial used to navigate the menus. There are plenty of organizations by playlist, album, song, genre, and artist (much of this is configured on the Musicmatch software automatically when you rip your CDs to mp3). It also contains 'extras' for Calandar, Contact, Clock, and a game. The game is actually a version of the old 'Breakout' game. The menus are in standard LCD gray and there is a backlight that can be turned on to see the menu better if needed. A great set of headphones comes with the iPod. It is the type of headphones you right on the outside of the ear and what is nice is they don't fall out of your ear - plus they sound great. You also get a portable charger that only requires the firewire cable. As for the firewire cable, it comes with one as well as an adapter for 4 pin and 6 pin ports.
There are three drawbacks I must point out. The first is the back of the player - it scratches very easily. The back is made of shiny metal and you are going to need to get a a case for it otherwise you will get tons of scratches on that surface. This leads into the second drawback - accessories. No case is going to come with it and of course, like with any accessory - you're going to overpay for them. Be careful when shopping for a case, some of them are cheap leather slipcases and you may overpay. Recently I tried to get a car charger and found one at an Apple Retail Store for $13.00, but remember seeing them in CompUSA for $40. The newer iPods are architected very differently and as a result those accessories won't fit this model of the iPod. I still also advise spending the money for a car adapter (mentioned above) that plugs into your cassette deck.
The third drawback is the battery. The battery will give you 10 hours continuous play when you first get it. Slowly but surely, you will see that erode over time. I'd say I'm down to 5 hours right now. Although I said the iPod does the job well, this is the one major drawback I've seen over the life of the device. To replace the battery - it is $99.00 from Apple and this is a job you are going to need them to do. With some of the newer iPod models, I know by next year I am going to face a tough decision on whether or not to replace the battery or upgrade my iPod. Another note on the battery is that if your iPod is idle and uncharged for a few days, the battery will lose some of its charge.
The plusses clearly outweigh the minuses here. I would give this 5 stars, but the drawbacks make this more of a 4 1/2 star effort. Don't let the drawbacks deter you, but be aware of them - especially the battery issue if you are buying a used one. If you do get this device, you'll be very happy with it.

Nice for the PriceFor the price, you get a good scan and printing that is fast and pretty true to what you scan. One caution, I was scanning without printing at first and the scanned image on screen looked too yellowish. I had a cow and had a not so pleasant experience trying to get a useable answer from Lexmark's online tech support. But once they suggested I print the image to show them and I did, I found that the image printed like what I'd scanned. It did not have the off color tints like the image did on the monitor.
Really, I've been surprised and now use it more than my HP. The copy function is cool, because you don't even have to have the computer turned on to use it. Copies are quick and you can adjust the ink levels to get it as light or dark as you want. Plus copies in color or B&W. I like the machine alot and I'm very glad I got it.

Its a cable.
Great Price and Fast Shipping!!Joey
Great Cable in any sizeYou can't solder these cables. They require a metal to metal contact, and lead-solder doesn't qualify. Also, it is critical to keep them spiraled, all the way up to the end. Even when attaching, instructions call for twisting them right up to the connection.
Since the tech instructions, tell you to keep them down to under 350 feet, these cables, whether they are long or short, are in the right lengths.
I know Amazon doesn't print prices in their reviews, but they have the local major chain office supply stores beat hands down. The 50 foot roll was half again as much locally.
These are the Category 5e cables. They give you a better return feed, which results in better overall performance. So insist on 5e instead of just 5. I initially bought some wall plates from Radio Shack that were Category 3, then I returned those for the snap in option Category 5. Those were returned also, when I went to Home Depot (of all places to go networking) and they had the complete Leviton line of 5e accessories.
If I had to do it over again, I would still buy the Belkin 50 footers. I don't want to have a 500 foot roll of ethernet cable hanging around.
These are tops. Gold plated connectors, Snag free ends, that protect that little lock in tab on the ends. You know the frustration of unsnarling a phone wire, out of a wiring mess, and the little tab bends over backwards, never to work properly again. Well Belkin built twin arches over the sides to prevent just that. Way to go. Highly recommended, good stuff, for a good price.

Great scanner for it's timeOverall, it's a good scanner, especially if you're only doing small-print or web work. Nikon now has newer scanner models with greater o/p and bit depth.
The question to ask yourself is "What am I going to do with the images I scan? Produce small prints or put them on the web?" If so, this scanner is perfect. If you're a semi-pro or pro who wants as much detail as possible, then get a newer model (ie: 4000 ED).....which will most likely be my next purchase. :)
Watch out for Nikon's Technical Support - Windows XP Issues

Reliable monitor from a reliable company. At about two years into its life, it started malfunctioning. The monitor was caught in an odd resolution. I called ViewSonic, and without any hassle they had me send it in. They sent me back a new one in no time, even though I had no receipts or original packaging.
As a basic 17 inch monitor with no frills or extras, the E771 does a great job. I definitely recommend this monitor along with any ViewSonic monitor. ViewSonic is a very trustworthy company that stands behind its products.
Great value, but not the best monitor out there

Sharp and Clear Text, Beautiful Digital PictureDVD movies look superb. Computer games show very slight ghosting but not enough to affect your gameplay.
No sound built in, but that's why I have my existing subwoofer and speakers for.
The casing has a lazy susan at the bottom so you can spin it around, and you can tilt it to suit your height.
Buy it, you won't regret it.
Good Friend
Bought three for my officemonitor I've ever purchased.
