Disappointed!
Ink level monitor is a joke, when it was still printing great, it show ink out (which is not true) and stop printing.

Head cleaning always clean both black and color, bad idea, it could end up use up half of the ink without having both heads in clean condition the same time.

With 2 of the above, I am staying away from Epson forever.

Great Product for the Price
I bought this printer at a great price of $30 and have gotten my moneys worth. It prints scanned pictures with great depth and clarity. It is fast! A plus. The only bad is, expensive cartridges. I pay more per cartidge than for the price of the printer itself.

Great Printer... Great Price
After getting my new Graphite iMac I realized that it would be cheaper to buy a printer, than the software necessary to network with the ones already present on my home Windows network. Since I don't print that often I figured that I would just get a cheap Mac-compatible USB printer. Boy, was I surprised to discover just how great the quality of this printer can be. Print a picture or a publication on the photo quality inkjet paper that comes included and you will be amazed by the results. Better than magazine print and almost rivaling photographs. The speed is fairly impressive too even when printing at higher resolutions. I have heard that the longevity of this printer is not the greatest, so if you print occasionally, but want high quality prints when you do, then, for the money, this printer is definitely a great buy.

Not Compatible with Windows XP.
Dear Public,
This version of Epson Perfection does not support the new Windows edition of XP, therefore I would upgrade to a newer epson version of the scanner.

Hinderance
I hope the above product would be great for 98/nt/w2k.
but I have XP and like the same I have scanner Epsom Perfection 660 and it simply doesn't work. I bought one, didn't work, didn't know and replaced for another new one and it again didn't work. I didn't know whether it (the scanner) was compatible in XP.
thanx

Best scanner I've ever owned
I've had my 636U over a year now and it has never caused me any problems. That is a testament to how well designed this scanner and software are. I've used a lot of scanners from inexpensive parallel port models to a costly SCSI model and the Epson is the one I will choose every time. I've used it with Windows ME and Linux to scan photos, artwork and business materials.

Scanning is fast with the 12mbps USB port although you will notice a slowdown when scanning at higher resolutions because of the large amount of image data generated. That's common to all high resolution scanners and not a problem associated with this particular unit or USB in general.

The scanner works with Windows Imaging, Photoshop 5.5 through 6.0a, MS Photo Edit and other software using the Epson Twain utility. The Epson Twain software has never crashed my computer and its setup was a simple, one-time only affair.

Another big plus is that this scanner works with Linux. I use it most often as my input device for the GIMP program using the Xsane scanner interface. With this OS and app setup, I've never had a problem from this scanner.

Given my good experience with the 636U, I have recommended Epsons to friends and family alike. My next scanner will definitely be another Epson Perfection.

Great, but cord is way too long
They are great, the sound quality is great, and the remote is extremely handy. My one and only complaint is that the cord can become annoyingly long. It is basically the normal headphone length, doubled with a remote in the middle.

The remote is fun and handy, and works when your iPod is on hold. The play/pause turns it on and off when held down as the normal button does. It also has it's own hold button. Overall, it's great. However, I think the cord could be shorter and if the price was lower, or you could buy them for cheaper w/out the included normal headphones (and use the money to buy a different type, use the ones you have or whatever) then this would be great.

4 stars

Nice remote, problematic ear phones
I like the remote - it is well designed and easy to use. It features a pause/play button, track skip (forward and backward), volume, and a hold button so you don't hit the buttons by accident. Especially handy when the iPod is in its case.

The earphones sound pretty good, however, it's hard to keep them from falling out of your ear which is a shame.

Also, the white color of everything is good and bad - on one hand, it's fun because you advertise that you're using an iPod to everyone. On the other hand, it's bad for the same reason because they're so distinctive, some one may steal your iPod!

Price is set at real value
Although these may not be the best earphones, they are exceptional, especially for the price. Just about the best earphones you can get cost about $500, but if you want exceptional, but not the best, these earphones are for you. The remote, along with your ipod comes in handy if you have your ipod in your pocket, or if you have it in a case. The little remote if fun to have, because it makes it so easy to adjust the volume, and it creates joy in the user. I think that this is a good pair for $40, especially the earphones. Unless you are willin to spend $120 or more, these are the best earphones for their price.

Quirkey Security
The Targus Defcon fingerprint security device itself is works fine. However, the SecureSuite 3.1 software that comes with it suffers from a number of bugs and inconveniences:

1) It does not work with Windows XP
2) It hangs the MS Internet Explorer when accessesing a page with two password fields.
3) It does not support network user accounts, only local logons.
4) It makes attaching to network file and print shares troublesome.

These problems make the device unusable in many typical workplace or home networking environments.

Supposedly there is a software package available free from Targus to provide security for Windows XP. However, the version of SecureSuite (3.5) that reportedly resolves the above problems for Windows 2000 users is not yet available from Targus.

My advice: Don't buy this device until it comes with software that works in real-world computing environments.

Cool as anything, but what if...
this is officially one of the coolest things i've seen in a while, but my obscure mind begs a question...

what if you had a twin? identical, same fingerprints? i know, odds are against it, but think about it! sensitive data and an evil twin... this worries me.

Targus w/ USB hub is the best fingerprint Bio capture device
On a direct comparison of Biometric Capture Devices for finger prints this is the best that I have used, and I use many.

The advantages of this device are:
1. Faster than the older/larger chipset.
2. Convienient USB hub so that you don't loose a port for a device you use only to logon and unlock.
3. Easier to get used to than other finger print devices (print placement).
4. easer to use on any of your ten fingers, as with a bio enabled mouse you may find that you can only easily use your right thumb.

My recomendation though is not to use the software bundled with the device, but to get SAFsolution Enterprise Eddition SAFlink Co. (OTC:BB-SFLK) and use that, as it works for local and network accounts, and can be centrally deployed for domain wide security.

Apple M7697ZM Optical Pro Mouse

    Barely worth a look
This mouse is aesthetically gorgeous, and the no-button design is pleasing. However, I've tried it on a number of different surfaces, and it has a lot of tracking problems, especially with fine motion. The more I need to do fine motion, the more I experience the same wrist pain reported by others because I try to use my hand to compensate for the mouse's lack of sensitivity.

With most other mice, moving the cursor around feels like an extension of my hand. I look at what I want on the screen, flick my wrist, and the cursor invariably ends up in the right spot (this has been true for Windows as well as the Mac). However, this mouse doesn't give me that feeling -- the cursor often ends up not going where I want it. That's annoying if I'm just switching between apps or something like that, but if I'm playing Halo, it can be fatal. I find myself turning more and more to keyboard shortcuts instead of using the mouse.

Finally, the cord is only twenty-eight inches long, which is absurdly short. Granted, most people who use this mouse will probably be plugging it into a keyboard, and under those circumstances, the length of the cord is less likely to be an issue. However, if you're thinking of plugging the mouse into the back of a tower that's on the floor behind your desk, you need to keep this limitation in mind.

The mouse requires no configuration or drivers, and it is hot swappable, all of which is nice but not particularly remarkable these days. The most important feature of a mouse is how natural it feels in response to the motion of your hand, and in this department, the Apple Optical Pro Mouse is one of the worst mice I've ever used.

    Don't Buy It
This mouse came with my new G4 Computer. I don't like it. I draw a lot with my mouse in general and this does not work for me. I hate the fact that you have to push down the whole mouse to get a click. I found that my wrist gets sore and the mouse is cumbersome and is just not sensitive enough.

It looks really cool, but that's about it.

I recommend the Microsoft Wheel Optical Mouse instead. It's cheap and the shape is very complimentary to your hand. Two buttons and the wheel all work on Mac. Plus the cord is really long... for some reason Mac cords for mice and keyboards are so darn short.

    I don't recommend this mouse.

    Good While It Lasts
I agree with most of what is written here: the mouse is stylish, and the single button is not a huge problem. I used this mouse for about a year but it has just stopped working. I think the problem is that the connection between the mouse and the mouse cable is somewhat weak. If you want to get this mouse, be gentle to it, and don't wind the cable around the mouse (for travel/storage purposes) like I did.

A good mouse, easy to install on my old iMac...
I am using it now to replace my old iMac mouse. It only took about two minutes to install on my iMac. The scroll wheel works great, except in Quicken 2001. But it is most useful with Internet Explorer anyway. The bottom line is that there are probably better mice out there, but for the price and for use on my three year old iMac this is a good choice.

    Great replacement mouse
When it came time to replace my little circular iMac mouse a few months ago, all I could find was the Logitech Wheel Mouse...thank god it's the best mouse I've ever owned. =) Its ergonomic design is a wonder for both left and right-handed people. its simple design also makes it amazingly easy to use. (unlike say, the kensington Optical Pro, which has lots of easy-to-hit-accidenally buttons. Less is more!)

I experienced some problems with the software; right clicking on the desktop usually led to a system crash - I learned to do without.

What I like most about this mouse was the scroller; I loved the way it felt =) Cleaning the mouse is a pain, but that's what happens with all non-optical mice.

Get out and get the mouse! Well, actually, get the optical version - no cleaning!

Better than what your Mac came with
Notwithstanding the comments of one frustrated user, I think this mouse a great replacement for the non-wheel mice provided by Apple. I found installation a snap, and its use even easier. Though I don't have AppleWorks, which another user has found somewhat incompatible, I've been able to use the wheel with every program I have. It's even recognized by Virtual PC, making it useful with all Windows based programs running on the Mac. As for the cord being somewhat short, I suppose it would be, if it didn't plug directly into the keyboard. Still, it's not all that difficult to get an extension cord, even for those who have to plug it directly into the back of their Macs. My biggest niggle is just that it only comes in G3 blueberry. It would be nice if they came in a whole range of colors, as befits the current range of Mac options available. Other than that, I've found it to be a huge improvement over Apple-supplied mice, however chic those may look.

Easy on the pocketbook, if not on the eyes
Well okay, it's not absolutely hideous looking, just a little bit cheesier than the original G3 keyboard that came with the first iMacs, whose style it most obviously resembles. It is also huge in comparison, though you might just say it is generous in its layout. Most importantly, the iMediaKey is actually comfortable to operate, and its many extra programmable buttons are quite convenient to have. A really wonderful, if perhaps confusing, feature is that the F14 & 15 buttons, labeled scroll lock and pause, actually control contrast. I just love this, because otherwise on my iMac I would have to open Displays from a drop down menu and wait for the preference pane to load before accessing the setting. The Function keys respond immediately. Also of course there are volume control keys; they are grouped among the other rather small soft rubber media buttons. These have a real neat feel and I kinda wish all the keys were made of that material.
As for durability, well I only carried this keyboard home last evening, so I can't vouch for that. The two USB ports do not offer as snug a fit as that of Apple's keyboards, but they seem to be working fine none the less. The Power button also has a loose feel to it, but it rides in a deep well; so while I don't fear that it will ever suffer accidental damage, its spring might perhaps wear out before the rest of the device is shot.

Now if you are using Panther as your OS you might want to take advantage of a recent bit of shareware that can modify Function keys. Perhaps over-priced at $20, FunKeys X lets you program keys F1 through 8, Help, and Home, in ways more than do any of its free or similarly priced competitors. You can launch Google without first opening your browser, open any folder, file or application, switch to Finder, control iTunes, Undo, Cut, Copy & Paste all with one touch. It is configured through its own preference pane and is perfectly compatible with iMediaKey!

You know, after pounding out this review on my new Macally keyboard, my eyes have grown more used to it and I don't think it's bad looking at all. Yes, it's really quite attractive...

Feeling dizzy now, gotta go lie down...

    Better than Apple's
This keyboard is great! It is basicly just like an Apple Pro Keyboard. The only difference is the extra 19 programable buttons. They can be used to do almost anything. The defaults have them carry out Volume Adjust, Audio/Video Player buttons (play, ff, stop, etc.) and anything else you want. The only thing I can't get right is the start-up key. But I believe that is happening because of my Mac model. Otherwise, perfect keyboard. I even used it to type this review!

    Great keyboard!
I bought this to replace the Apple Pro keyboard that came with my G4. With the Apple Pro Keyboard, I found myself constantly typing double or triple letters, even if I only pressed down the key lightly. After months of feeling illiterate, I gave up.

After agonizing over a keyboard purchase, I chose the iMediaKey, hoping it might offer some of the same features as the keyboard it was replacing. And it does! It not only has volume controls on it, as well as media eject functions, it also has a POWER BUTTON that works through the USB port! For all those people like myself who really miss that ability to power up off the keyboard, you can welcome it back.

In addition, there are full music controls (FFwd, Rew, Play, Stop, Pause) on the keyboard, buttons for email and your internet browser, and several programmable buttons. The best part about it is that this thing is plug and play- install the software, and all the buttons are pre-configured. Eudora came up immediately, as did IE, which are the two clients I use for email and web respectively.

I like the feel of this keyboard a lot. I'm used to older Mac keyboards, and having to actually type and not touch. You definitely have to push the keys down. But there have been few if any key repeats, and I feel much more confident with this keyboard.

My one complaint is that the caps lock key does not have a light on it and is placed close to the A, so on my first day I was hitting it a lot. That immediately became a non-issue.

If you need to replace your Apple Pro keyboard, this may be the one. I can't vow for durability yet, only because I have only had this keyboard for a little over a week. But for functionality, it's perfect. Knock wood!

    Great printer for the Price
I've owned this printer for a week and am very pleased. It's a great Printer for the price. It's well constructed, fast and simple to use.

I share it on a home network with PCs running Win95, Win98 and WinXP. No problems printing. The driver provides access to all the printer's features on these platforms and is very straight forward.

I considered the HP 1200 and Brother 1450. I normally purchase HP printers but was disappointed in how flimsy the HP appeared. While I wouldn't mind Postscript which comes with the HP, it isn't essential and not worth the additional $$. The Brother was probably my second choice, but the Samsung had better specs and was less expensive.

The Samsung WEB site could be improved, but I was able to eventualy validate that the drivers that came with the printer were up to date. They also have limited service coverage.

    Great small office printer
We use it in our office... very quick and solid printing capability. The only drawback is that it seems to go through printer cartridges fairly quickly, but then again, we do print a lot of stuff. Overall, we're very satisfied with it!

    Why need postscript?
I've had for 2 weeks...do not have postscript card. Have not yet come across a PDF file that wouldn't print. Not sure what others are trying to print.
Also, I've had no problem with manual duplexing. Have not tried 1200 dpi yet.

    Great Monitor For The Buck!
Got my VG150 last week, Worked great with windows XP out of the box. The updated driver from Viewsonics Website did not load properly so I chose to ignore it with no problems. Easy on the eyes and easy to use

    An excellent 15" LCD
I have been very happy with this Viewsonic LCD. So when upgraded to a 17" I bought a Viewsonic (VG721) again. This LCD has no dead pixel, the text and pictures look crisp, its cool on the eyes but yet sufficiently bright. I have had no problems with it. However I did not find the colorific software that came along with the LCD very useful.

    Runs Cool and Looks Cool
One of the reason why I switched from CRT to LCD is the size. This one is a 1/4th the size of my previous monitor (thickness). So I have more room to put my keyboard and any other stuff infront of this monitor. Doesn't run hot like CRT monitors. Easy on the eyes. Plus it looks classy and refined.
