The hardware is a piece of garbage, but the software is nice
Pretty dern goodI got the VideoBusII for amatuer video work, and it's worked out well. The piece of hardware itself has had no problems, just make sure it's right for your camcorder. The software takes some getting used to, but once I figured it out I was able to have fun doing the basics--simple editing and effects. Nothin too fancy, but if that's what you want, it could be just right.
Easy Installation, low CPU, excellent videoI don't understand the installation problems another reviewer mentioned. I put the CD, installed the Videowave software, then plugged in the USB Videobus II, let Windows XP's hardware wizard "automatically" find the right driver, and it worked immediately. I used Windows XP Professional Service Pack 1, on a 2.4 GHz P4 laptop.
Captures I420 and RGB24, among others. Can do a full CIF (352x288) 30 fps capture that is silky smooth. This is much better than most of these capture devices, I can tell you. Many don't support 352x288 (only 320x280), or drop the framerate, or capture with horrible horizontal interlacing lines.
I didn't use any of the prepackaged software, or capture to disk. I only wanted it for live video capture for videoconferencing, and it works terrific for that. And at about 63 dollars, you can't beat the price for this quality.
You will need a good quality NTSC analog camera to plug into it - just be aware.

No OSX DriversGreat printer, fantastic quality but STILL no OSX drivers. I've spoken to Epson for over a year about this, and they still have no commitment to when they'll get it done. Very dissapointing.
Professional PhotographerI find this printer to be an excellent well made printer. The perfect printer would be one that could print excellent color and Grey Scale.
I have read the previous reviews about lack of drivers for the Mac's and I do not believe that this is true. The printer came packaged with drivers for PC and Mac. Upgraded drivers for both systems are available at Epson's web site. The only draw back that I see about the printer is that there is no light black ink tank, for really good continuous tone grey scale images. So people that do Grey Scale Photography would not come out with gallery results. Color printing is excellent as long as you use custom profiles out of Photoshop.

OS X driversI don't know when the other review was posted but the OS X drivers have been available since 2003. Mine works fine, but a RIP works better.

HP customer support a joke!I bought this monitor in November of '03. I have sent it back twice and still don't have possession. I was told in February of this year that they would put a "rush" on it for repair. Still haven't seen it! I guess their idea of a rush and mine are two different things.
I was a HUGE Sony fan. Was is the key word here. They will not replace it, sent it back once and said there was nothing wrong with it after having it for 5 weeks. I guess they don't mind having blurred print and discolorations throughout. I will not be buying another Sony product again. Customer support is now an oxymoron.

Sleek design, average performanceImages and text on this monitor are ok, the design is steril and industrial. Once you get close and touch it, it feels "plasticky" and flimsy.
It is in the same price range with other 18" LCD monitors but lacks some of their features, such as a DVI input or height adjustment.
I would recommend the ViewSonic, Samsung or even the Mitsubishi monitors, due to image quality and features over this one any day.

Great Buy!Nice, clear monitor. True colors and viewing angle is a plus. Graphics/text are sharp and clear from any angle. Would highly recommend.

Terrible productI wanted a dongle 1394 card because I have a wireless card, but this product was terrible. The dongle did not release properly from the card, and as a result the dongle and card became damaged. Also could not get my W2K computer to properly recognize my iPod through this device. Had no problem on my desktop. Don't buy this unless you are a glutton for punishment.
great for the ipodthis works great with your laptop if you don't already have a firewire and need firewire to connect to an ipod.

ATI Technologies Xclaim Tv USB Edition Mac

Horrible PictureI reccommend that you do not buy this product. When you use it for TV reception, to watch VCR tapes, or to play games with a console system the picture is terrible. You would be better off buying a television for the same price as it would look much better. When I tried to watch any shows the poor picture and color quality along with the distortions on the screen gave me a terrible headache. I returned this product the same day I recieved it as it was a waste of money.
No problems with MACGreat card u have all the features as your TV on the monitor!
125 Channel very simple to use and to install.

Doesn't work with Viewsonic monitorsI suppose that this would be an OK piece of gear if you don't have a Viewsonic monitor, but if you do stay away from it. It does not work with the DVI connectors on the Viewsonic flat panel monitors. Instead you need to order the DVI II extractor from Dr. Bott. This is a major hit since Viewsonic is one of the larger and more popular monitor brands available.
Works for me with ViewsonicI have a G4 Quicksilver and purchased a VX900 Viewsonic. The adapter works just fine. Much better price here, I paid $59 at CompUsa in the store...

Haven't been happyI've had this mouse for about 2 years now and I've been not too happy with it for most of that time. It's simple- just plug and play, but I don't like the shape much, the cord is overly bulky, the button lacks a certain je ne sais button-oi, and it's not very sensitive. It's gotten pretty bad over the last year, even after cleaning it's just so insensitive. There are probably better third party mice out there.
works well ...Freezes with some, newer, Mac applications coming out of -sleep- mode on my rev C iMac. I especially have trouble with Coda Music apps. A restart fixes all but ... I try to think of it as digital syncopation ... and moreover its Bondi Blue which doesnt match my Grape iMac ... oh woe ... Im going out to the garden and eat worms.

DOARight off the bat on installation the driver is not signed off by microsoft, thay say continue anyway---I did even though I did this with a creative product and it screwed up my computer had to do a complete format and recovery, they care not about the hrs, hrs, and hrs of your time to fix there garbage products. Back to the scanner, noticed a smell after install, it was coming from the scanner, took it for a new item being used for first time. On a test scan the scan was ok and quality so so but I could tweek it out if I had a chance. After a few scans the scanner would only scan 1/2 of the item. (Travel only 1/2 way down the glass).. The smell was the stick on tape they use to hold the glass up to the unit. the glass was coming loose and falling down, the light would hit the glass about 1/2 way through the scan and get stuck then return. I can fix things, and I probably could of got some good two sided tape and replace the factory tape, ya, would of worked but to think that they would use tape to hold the glass up, with no other back-up is a real joke. Shame on you Microtek and thank god for these user reviews. And don't forget about that not signed off driver that comes with the soft ware. Do your self a favor and check out that canon scanner with 64 reviews (Good one's) Cost's $10 more.
Cheap Cheap Cheap!!The main thing I wanted to do with this scanner was to scan and then email my pictures to friends and family. This scanner is USB and under $... many stores!!! It's quiet and the picture quality is great for it. I have no complaints yet on it, works like a charm. Setup instructions and software were included so with most any USB you just plug and play!

Cannot ConnectI have had no luck in getting the modem to work. It sets up ok and responds to AT commands until it is asked to dial. It immediately returns ERROR. I have worked with the vendor service desk for over a month. I have tried two Macintoshes and a PC. I've tried 3 different phone lines and paid the phone company to check the lines at my house. I have edited CCL files. I have had two engineers and a computer technician try. I have swapped the modems with other modems known to work and they all work fine, but the Zoom doesn't. Amazon's wonderful replacement policy replaced the first modem. The second modem does the same identical thing. I have spent too much time and money on something that is supposed to plug in and operate easily. I'll try something else.
A little disappointedI ordered this product to give to my mother for mother's Day. She got it on time. Now As of June 13,2000 the modem is no longer working. It simply won't connect. There is some type of error and won't accept commands.
Much HappierI wrote a review previous to this claiming to be a little disappointed. Well, Now I am elated! I sent the product back and they replaced it at no charge! I haven't experienced any more problems. Apparently it just had a flaw in that particular item. I recommend this product.
The only good part of the deal was the MGI software, the Belkin Videobus I purchaced came with a video editor and a photo suit.
The MGI Videowave IV is a much better program than the Windows Movie Maker that came with Windows XP, and the MGI Photosite III is a good photo editing program, togeather they were probably worth the price of the Belkin VideobusII I threw away.
