Come on!
They say it is soo easy to dock the Ipod mini. WRONG! My Ipod mini got scratched, so thats when I decided to put the skintight cover on, to cover it up. Then I got a regular Ipod dock, and thanks to the cover my Ipod mini fit perfectly, and not only was it cheaper, I got the same things that the mini dock could do.

No Cables !!! (useless?)
Hi
I ordered this along with my Ipod Mini (which is back ordered), I'm very suprised and disapointed that this is just a little piece of plastic with 2 connectors: I was (wrongly...) assuming that ordering this meant I could have 1 connection at work and another at home... it is actually not useful on its own...

Necessary for Line-Out
The Dock provides a convenient way to sync the iPod mini with your computer or stereo. It contains two outputs: A dock connector pass-through (the same as the port on the bottom of your iPod) and a stereo line-out. It does not include any extra cables. (To connect to a stereo, use a standard miniplug to RCA-adapter. To connect to power (not required, but will charge the iPod during use), connect the Firewire-to-Dock Connector cable that came with your iPod and use the iPod's power adapter. To connect to your computer, use either the Firewire-to-Dock Connector cable, or the USB 2.0-to-Dock Connector cable, both of which were included with your iPod). It is difficult to comprehend how one reviewer here felt slighted because no cable was included. Since the Dock can be used in a variety of configurations, the choice of cable(s) belongs to the user. (I use one of my Docks in my car!)<br /> <br /> Many of the reviewers here have mistakenly assumed that the Dock doesn't do anything. In fact, the Dock is the only way (outside of a third-party solution) of obtaining a line-level signal from the iPod. Using the Dock's line-out port thus results in substantially better sound quality through a stereo amplifier than the headphone jack or an FM transmitter could provide. <br /> <br /> If you aren't connecting the iPod to an external stereo amplifier, then you technically don't need the Dock. Although it is convenient for syncing the iPod, one of the cables included with the iPod will work just fine by itself. <br /> <br /> I have found the Dock to be a wonderful iPod accessory. I give it only four stars because (1) I believe it is a bit expensive, and (2) because I believe the manufacturer could better explain what it is used for, to avoid some of the misunderstandings seen in the other reviews here. Otherwise, I have no complaints.

do not buy this machine!
Even though I only ever print black type, the "head cleaning" process manages to empty ALL of the cartridges (including the 3 color ones) in only a few weeks. They run about $18 each so imagine how much fun that is. The great part is that the machine will not work at all if the color cartridges are empty. What a ripoff! Also the "transport" thing that holds the ink is easily damaged if you move it by hand.

I will probably take a baseball bat to it one of these days. Serenity now!

WORKS FINE EXCEPT
THIS UNIT WORKS FINE EXCEPT,THERE ARE 3 CARTRIDGES BLACK, AND THE (2) COLOR CARTRIDGES.

FOR SOME REASON AND YOU KNOW WHAT THAT REASON IS. WHEN EITHER CARTRIDGE GETS BELOW A CERTAIN POINT, THE NORMAL DISPLAY ON THE MFC3200C GOES OUT AND A WARNING IS CONSTANTLY DISPLAYED, AND CANNOT BE REMOVED UNTIL IT IS REPLACE THE MODE DISPLAY THAT YOUR MACHINE IS IN FAX & TAD OR OTHER CHOICES REFUSES TO DISPLAY ONCE YOU GET THIS MESSAGE(YOU ARE GETTING NEAR EMPTY.) AND IF YOU DON'T CHANGE THE CARTRIDGE NO MATER WHICH ONE THAT IS NEAR EMPTY; THE WHOLE MACHINE DISFUNCTIONS & MALFUNCTIONS.

THAT INCLUDES THE PRINTER WILL NOT PRINT, THE FAX WILL NOT RECEIVE FAXES AND THERE IS MALFUNCTION WHEN YOU TRY TO FAX. MOST OF ALL IF YOU DON'T FAX,COPY OR PRINT BUT ONLY OCCASSIONALLY; ALL (3) CARTRIDES DRY UP, AND SOON. I USE THE COLOR CARTRIDGES VERY OCCASSIONALLY AND I MEAN WITH VERY LITTLE USE ON INSCRIPTIONS & EDGINGS IN PRINT SOME TEXT AND A FEW COLOR PICTURES. AND I MEAN A FEW!

BECAUSE OF THE WAY THIS BROTHER FAX SYSTEM IS UTILIZED AND I KNOW OF A FEW FAX MACHINES THAT ARE NOT THIS STRICK, I NOW WILL BUY DISCOUNT CARTRIDGES AND REFILL KITS ONLY, AND NEVER BUY BROTHER AGAIN.

So Far, Nice Piece of Equipment
Have only had it a week but am particularly impressed with the copy machine function. The copies are almost identical to the original and it takes one button and a few seconds for the whole process. Scanned a photo to my computer, and used the OCR function to scan a page of text into Word. The fax receives 4.0, but I haven't tested the send fax yet. Color Copies look great, too. I can't complain about anything yet. I hope it is conservative with the ink.

    Mostly same as above
I've had lots of problems with it too. I also have had two, I'm on the second right now. It worked fine at first, then the rudder control... ermm.. "freezes" in one position.. not physically.. but whenever you go into a game, the rudder is constantly "pulled" one way.. only way to fix it is to disable it in the game.. I played like that with the first one for a while, then it broke.. I mean the stick broke off the rest.. kind of annoying. The same rudder problem has just started occuring on my new one now. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

    Don't waste your money
I have had two of these controllers, and both have failed in the same fashion. Support is non-existant unless you make the toll call to this company on their time, 9-5 EST. The handle twist function breaks for no apparrent reason. I only got an answer after making a long-distance call to their support center. No response from their support page.
Problem is, when it works, it works very well. You need to download a beta patch if you run Win XP, but that worked great! Again, it's a problem with their hardware. So, beware. It will work just fine...for a little while. I guess I'm going to buy a more reliable stick. Once is a fluke, twice is a problem, and I'm not willing to see what happens on the third try.

    Guess What
Bought this stick on strenght of reviews elsewhere. The stick worked well initially, however, it obvious that the reviews I read did not test long term reliability.

After a couple of weeks of light usage, guess what, the twist handle rudder function broke. Have emailed technical support and await a response. Hoping it is still under warranty so I can get my money back.

    Big Problems
Oh, great. I get my Rio 600 / 32mb and add this 64mb backpack and now after 3 weeks the thing "quits working". Now I've had this player for over a year and it has been very good. Yes I've updated the software (1.55) and tried all the other tricks listed on the web... No go.... Now I read were I'm not the only person to run into this problem....

    Won't ship to England?
Great. So it's offered at $$$ but "can't be shipped outside the US". Is this bloody-mindedness or down to the fact that the charger would launch itself into space with our UK 230 volt supply voltage? (Who cares - I can buy a cheap charger here).

My alternative is to buy a "Backpack" from Amazon UK. But wait - it's only a 32Mb unit and the cost is *twice* that of the 64Mb unit!

Nah. I think I'll just buy a cheap Taiwanese MP3 player and trash this American junk. That seems to be the way the world is going.

    Less than fair
Apparently, Sonicblue discontinued making this backpack for some time because it had a lot of problems-- the many serious issues were supposedly fixed.

Calibration worked easy. The only problem was the supposed 'charging lamp' didnt go on, which created a lot of confusion.

After calibration and testing, I had the battery drained and charged it up (because I thought the lamp didnt turn on because the battery was full)--It didnt go on. Battery level is entirely innacurate, and the mandatory rechargable battery doesnt last nearly as long as the ones I used before.

The only positive thing is that it works

With its bad history, my suggestion would be to buy a player from a reliable brand or one with better reviews.

Pacific Image Electronics PrimeFilm 1800AFL Film Scanner

    Average review score:

    Pathetic
Color cast is always off; editing software is clunky; levels adjustment is incredibly clumsy; scanner is prone to crashing (all the time); scanner won't calibrate properly for film strips. I have wasted an unbelievable amount of time trying to scan with this machine, and then fixing the scanned products, and am incredibly frustrated. I'm using the more advanced version than this - the PF 3600 Pro, but it sounds like it has the same problems. My advice is to troll the Internet and mags for solid reviews, and spend your scanner money accordingly ... or wait 2 more years for the manufacturers to get us off their bleeding edge.

    Bad Company Bad scanner
I only have a few things to say about the scanner and the company. Pacific Image as a company is terrible! They have no support and they don't care. This is the poorest example of a scanner I've ever used. Please take my advise and look eleswhere.

Cost effective, works good, driver glitches
Reading some of the below reviews, I am reminded with I use a Mac: things usually work. The PF1800 is actually a good, not outstanding, scanner. I am scanning all my Dad's slides in and it produces good, easy to use results. I use about 1200 to 3000 dpi and it works well with manageable file sizes. Previously I was using an Epson flatbed scanner w/ slide attachment which as much slower and could not reliably reproduce quality scans. The PF1800 does though although not perfectly: it has trouble with darker slides which come out very grainy despite various manipulations. Also its CyberView 35 driver in Mac OS X (Panther) is not glitch free: it often mysteriously retrieves an old scan while posting a NEW slide and freezes up occasionally. But it's MUCH cheaper than the rest and it DOES WORK. I've done about a thousand slides with it so far... I should know. Also check out Costco.com for a better price. Happy scanning!

If you want protection, then don't buy this case
Quite simply the case is so hard, I noticed a small scratch on my ipod screen after it had been in this so called protective case. Do yourself a favour and buy an iskin exo. a cover made of silicone that fits like a skin to your ipod and allows you to access the buttons, hold switch and attach your firewire and headphones without haveing to remove the Ipod from it.

    Don't waste the money!
I've got the 20gb iPod and mine did come with this case. Like other reviewers said, it's a pain to pull the machine out when you want to change a setting. The clip is really poor quality as well - I only used it a few times and the thing just snapped off. Do yourself a favor and by a nice after-market case...you'll save yourself a lot of agravation and probably save some $$ too.

If you want to USE the ipod, look elsewhere.
This case came with the ipod I purchased; in fact, it's one of the reasons I didn't purchase the 10G model. However, as a previous reviewer stated, you simply cannot use the ipod while it's in this case - it's only good for transporting it. There are other case options available that allow you to leave the ipod in the case and access its controls. I'm personally waiting for the Xtreme Mac case to become available. All controls can be accessed inside the case. You can charge the ipod while it is in the case (you can't with this case). It costs less and is made of leather, not nylon.

      Never worked right . . .
From the day that I opened the box and took the reader, then plugged it into my computer I could never get it to work right. With a system running Windows XP it normally installs automatically then works like a charm. However, this time it installed but never functioned properly. It would dissappear then reappear at startup.
If you where lucky, it would stay long enough you to try to use it, then you could try to use it. It would then say there there was no card in the drive, then dissappear until next startup.
This also happened with the drivers on the CD. I would strongly avoid this product.

      Won't read all memory sticks
The Dazzle DM-8100 will not read my 128mb Lexar memory sticks. It will only read the 16mb Sony stick that came with my camera. I emailed customer service. With no response after 3 days I called their 800#. After quite a long wait on hold, they were of little help. They said there might be a patch someday. But, they did not know when.

DAZZLE DUD - WINDOWS XP NOT!!!
I've had nothing but trouble with this reader. Claims to be XP compatable but XP rejects it and Dazzle customer support is useless at best. If you have XP stay away.

      Major Problems!!!
I have gone through 3 Sony SDM-S81 monitors and still can't get one that will work more than a month or two. I am trying now to get a replacement model from Sony - they have sent 3 rebuilt units that all end up doing the same thing. Screen has green-glittery haze and contoured lines moving around screen. Very disappointed with Sony for this junk of a monitor. Paid 800.00 for mis-engineered Sony mistake apparently.

      Big Problems
I've had the same problems with this monitor. This first year is was fine and then it started to go. I called SONY and they send me a rebuilt and that one did the same this after a week. I am now on to my third monitor and just today it started to go bad. So it looks like I'll be calling SONY again. I very disappointed I've got a SONY TV that is 30 years old. I guess they just don't built things like they used to.

      Great monitor. No problems whatsoever
I'm not sure what the problem is with the previous 2 reviewers. We've got a large number of these monitors installed in my office, and there have been no problems whatsoever. Both text and images are quite clear with excellent color balance, brightness, and contrast, with excellent and simple controls via the buttons on the front of the bezel. The screen is viewable from a wide angle (an advantage in an office setting when others need to see what's on the screen, of course).

There's an easily-lifted panel on the back which conceals the power connector and the video cable connector, and the user needs to make sure the cables are flat in order to properly shut the panel; but that hasn't been an issue.

      I recommend this monitor.

      lost all data
Mine lost all data as well. Over half way through a 2 week trip of a lifetime in Italy, my card failed and I lost all pictures. Sent card to a data recovery company that tried to repair the card to no avail. Will never buy PNY again.

      All Cards NOT Created equal...
I was always a believer that all media cards were created equal. Whether a San Disk, Lexar, PNY, or SimmpleTech card, it didn't matter, each worked as well as another. Well, I was wrong. After one use, just one single use, the PNY card stopped working! Just one use, I couldn't believe it!

In my line of work, I sometimes put my camera and media cards to the test. I use San Disk cards (which have never failed me), but one time I needed an extra card and had to settle for a PNY. That turned out to be a big mistake. Luckily I was able to return the card and get my money back.

PNY 256 MB CF card dissatisfaction
I purchased a PNY 256 MB CF card in April of 2003, and it just stopped working, in December. I have tried to contact PNY for support, but their support people don't offer much help. They offer a lifetime warranty on their products, but tell me I have to return it at the place of purchase (I only have a 30 day return policy, and that has expired). Their support people have told me they do not offer picture recovery from bad CF cards, either. Lexar DOES. Guess whose CF cards I will be buying in the future...
In short, bad customer service and lousy support!

      Horrible
We purchased one for our small office. Set up went smoothly, but it would hang in the middle of printing any job over 3 pages. The web site and user's manual had no description of these problems. The web site is particularly useless. 6 days after setting up the printer, the power went out. This printer never recovered, even though every computer in our office was unaffected. Don't waste your time or money.

      Horrible Execution
It is not only Mac users who will want to throw this thing out the window. I had numerous errors using a G3 and G4 Mac running OS9, including printing and especially scanning, so I finally gave up and connected it to a PC running Win 98, only to experience about the same thing. Errors, system crashes, etc. I give this one star because as a copier and standalone fax it works fine. The software is abysmal, atrocious, etc., and I tried to get help on their website which is hopeless and then they take over 24 hours to respond to emails with no real help. I have a HP 4M+ which has been 100% reliable for ten years so I thought I was safe to stick with HP, but apparently they think in order to compete they have to churn out junk and then run and hide.

      NOT Macintosh compatible
The HP LaserJet 3300 mfp printer is not Macintosh compatible. it is, I would like to see the circumstances that pass for the determination of "compatibility"

Some people have been waiting months for updates to drivers. HP's suggested workaround is to enable print-only functions by using Apple's newer Jaguar ppd. However the ppd that would enable (EN-able?, come on, DIS-able) the multiIfunction device to ONLY print is overwriten by HP's outdated pre-Jaguar ppd on installation. I have spent a month of weekends trying to get just a single print, on OS 10.2, to no beneficial result. I have gone from clean system installs (in order to recover overwritten ppd's) to the lastest releases of GIMP print and HPIJS and Foomatic printer drivers. LinuxPrinting.org suspects that HP is using an incompatible version of USB communications for printing to this device.

Operating while connected to an Mac OS 9 is (occasionally) possible, but HP states that the 3300 is incompatible with Apple's usb printer sharing, further thwarting attempts to set up an OS 9 shared usb printer and printing via LPR.
Note that any success with this printer on an OS X or mixed environment involves the addition of a network interface (3330 etc.) and not simply USB.

I am now (after 30 days) left to hope that Amazon will accept the the return of the HP Laserjet 3300 mfp for a device that renders toner on paper.
