    Defective
I bought one worked for 5 hours. Returned it for another. That worked for a day or so. Crappy, crappy, crappy.

    stick with oem products
failed after a few months use with my toshiba centrino laptop. targus would not honor warranty because they claimed that the power adapter was not meant to be used with my particular model. can't think of a a more bogus explanation for poor quality.

do yourself a favor and avoid this pricey paperweight. stick with oem equipment

    Excellent for Transcontinental Flights
I was taking a flight one day from Los Angeles to D.C. when I noticed that a person in front of me seemed to have 'plugged in' his laptop while on the plane. I asked him how he did that and he pointed out to me that most planes have a power adapter under most seats (usually the first half of the plane only though) and that he had purchased a Targus Auto/Air Power Adapter.

As soon as I landed I went to my local computer store and indeed found this product. I purchased it immediately (I admit I paid more than what Amazon is selling for, though) and used it on my flight back from DC. It was so nice to be able to watch two full length DVDs versus getting through only 90% of one DVD before the battery went dead. Best of all, I don't have to hunt around the airport anymore for an AC plug because as I watch my DVDs on the plane the Targus Auto/Air power adapter charges my laptop for me.

I have a son that was born in July of 2003 (around a year old at the time of this writing) and so the only DVDs I watch anymore are when I go on business trips. It is actually pretty relaxing to fly now that I have this power adapter. I just plug in my laptop, put on my headphones and I am in my own little world (until the flight attendant finally comes by to 'put my seat in the full and upright position').

Thanks Targus for such a simple but useful product.

    Yikes...
I bought a QPS back in April, I had configuration issues right away.
I followed the tech support format and emailed them. Giving them benefit of possibly being busy or email issues I emailed four times over four weeks from seperate servers. They do not respond through support.
Now the hardware failed, I repeated the email attempts with no response and have phone support three times in two weeks to give up in Cue after 45 minutes. No 1-800 number.
Now I have a very high phone Bill coming and a useless QPS device that I will eat also.
Please don't allow companies like this to thrive, which they all too commonly do in todays market.
    Buy elsewhere.

    Interface is unreliable...
QPS' interface is unreliably bult. They have poor quality checks and the electronic tolerances are barely within the specs.

Perfectly fine...works great...Buy it if the price is good
What can you say? It's a PCI firewire adaptor. It installs
effortlessly (no driver disk required) in Win2k / WinXP.
    It works effortlessly, too.

This is a rebadged SIIG firewire card that uses the VIA chipset,
which is well-liked, and generally very compatible, chipset.

It also comes with Ulead video editing software.

    If the price is good,
    go for it...

      Not a product for beginners!
I bought this program after getting a digital camera and wanting to "play" with AND improve my images taken. I bought this program based on it's packaging. They make it sound great. However, upon getting it home, became frustrated very quickly. For someone with no experience, your totally on your own. I knew I would have to experiment and learn on my own, but there is no manual, the help menu's are, at best, minimal and offer no help, merely a description of what the icon does. Save your money and search, like I should have, for a program that is more user-friendly WITH a manual for learning!

      Room for improvement
I have tried other photo editing packages in this price range and like this about as well any. On the positive side, it is pretty easy to use and handles the basic tasks and then some. There is no manual to speak of, but the program is not too complicated. I like that it uses the jpeg format in native mode (unlike Adobe Photodeluxe which uses some oddball native format). I was amazed, though, that the window under which the program runs cannot be made full screen. It was like trading my 19" monitor for a 15". Another dissapointment was that it didn't allow viewing of all information text imbedded in the jpeg file. My Cannon Powershot S10 stores information about cammera settings in the jpeg. Canon Photo doesn't display this (although it leaves them intact for other programs that can). I would hope the next version fixes these problems.

        Don't Buy This Monitor!
I bought this monitor about three months ago and the first time I used it I noticed that the sides of the display where curved inward way too much, and no matter what I did with the OSD the sides of the display where either curved inward or outward way too much. Then about three days later I started having another problem with the monitor.... on the left side of the screen there would be a wave pattern every now and then, which would be enough to give you a headache and make you dizzy. I thought I would give CTX a chance because I heard a few good things about them.... boy did I make a mistake! It's back to NEC Multisync Diamondtron's and Sony Trinitrons only for me. Maybe I just got a bad one though, but I still don't recommend buying this monitor... why even take the chance. I'm returning this one before I start having more problems with it!

Brenthaven Mobility 1 Laptop Bag - Underwhelmed Me!
I got this bag for my 14" iBook. I'm a fan of quality and love well made products. I looked at Brenthaven's website and decided they were all about quality and that the $80 price for the Mobility 1 was well justified.

I was wrong. First I will concede that this bag is made with good materials, built to hold up to heavy use, and does in fact shield a laptop very well. HOWEVER, at $80 there are some serious design flaws that keep this bag from being really cool.
        1. Bag is perpetually lopsided. When loaded with a laptop this thing will never stand up on a table top (flat surface) etc.
        2. With this lopsided-ness the carrying handle becomes twisted in your hand whenever you use it. It's too thin and flimsy.
        3. Now put the bag on your shoulder and it's still lopsided, but if you're talented you can make it work.
        4. You can't remove the shoulder strap, and it doesn't have "swivel" hardware to keep it from getting all twisted up.
        5. The front strap that holds the clasp for closing the front flap of the bag is not adjustable. This means if the bag isn't stuffed full the front flap can't be cinched tight. This adds even more to the bag's lopsidedness.

It appears Brenthaven rushed this bag to market in response to Apple's request for a small laptop bag. While it will protect your machine, you'll soon be pestered by its many design flaws.

Global Village 56k/v.92 for mac call waiting
Do not buy this modem if you are interested in the modem
on hold/call waiting feature. The modem is hardware compatable with this feature but according to Global Village
tech support there is no software available for this feature.
So even if you have call waiting and an ISP with v.92 service
this modem will not enable you to receive calls while online.

            Built to a price unfortunately
I bought this printer as a replacement for a 1220C non duplex printer as duplexing has become a must for our company. I have had this product for 2 years and probably run no more than 200 sheets of paper through it. The quality is superb when it works. It has now developed a fault which makes it as good as useless as it requires a replacement part which I understand would cost almost as much as the printer if I could actually get it. Looking on the HP web-site forums I note that this particular problem appears to be rather too common for this make of printer. I cannot recommend it and suggest you look elsewhere. Shame, as I really rate HP printers
            I will be junking it

ADF not reliable, PDF conversion does not work
I bought a 7490c scanner mainly because I needed to convert paper documents to PDF files.

Unfortunately, even if the scanner works quite well without using the ADF or preparing PDF documents, I could not succeed in doing what I needed.

The Automatic document feeder is not reliable for scanning A4 papers, since while taking the papers it often rotates them giving a rotated image as a result.

Moreover the Hp precision scan pro 3.0 software has a bug in producing black and white PDF files , and HP does not know how to fix it.

Therefore, if you need to have a large number of pages scanned , avoid this scanner and go for a fujitsu.

              Not Recommended
Go with the Canon DR-2080. This is one of those scanners, although attractively priced on Amazon.com, is still TOO [spendy] for its size (HUGE footprint).

The Scan drivers are difficult to install and are NOT user friendly.

Bottom line: go with the Canon DR-2080. Although the Canon is a path through, its quality and ease of use is FAR superior to this Ricoh behemoth.
