Nice Look - Poor Functionality
If you haul a LOT of stuff, this is the bag for you...Under the flap you'll find a smaller zipper compartment perfect for cables and wiring, with extra little pockets sized for diskettes and pens. The zippered main compartment is *huge*, though my laptop is about 1" too tall to take advantage of the velcro closures on the laptop compartment flap--however, the flap also has an adjustable quick-snap strap to hold everything securely in place. The back of the bag also has a very large flat zipper pocket that can hold a bunch of legal-sized files with ease. In addition to the shoulder strap there is a handle on the top of the bag so you can carry it by hand.
The color description claims it is a bright, high-visibility citrus color and shows up as a cheerful yellow online. In reality this bag is a dark mustard-gold color, which took a little getting used to. The trim is reflective but not enough to be considered any sort of safety feature.
I liked this bag because it has a lot of space and now I can carry everything in one bag instead of three, yet still be able to mash it all under an airline seat (the back and bottom of the bag are constructed of solid black heavy nylon fabric). It's also a security advantage that it doesn't look as if it would have an expensive laptop inside.
I took a star off for the following points: inaccurate color description, smallish (10.5 x 12)laptop compartment though the adjustable strap allows larger units to fit, and because I think the balance of the bag would be improved by setting the straps slightly closer to the front of the bag. This is a bag that is most comfortable with the strap worn crossways over your chest (weight of the bag resting behind you), but most people carry loads on one shoulder only.
Overall, though, you can't beat the practicality for the price and I really enjoy using mine.

Not Your Average Leather Case
does its job

Problems with Windows 2000 ProfessionalI purchased Iogear's version because of the perceived professionalism of Iogear's products (nice form factor, decent web site, etc.). Unfortunately, after receiving this device a few days ago, my experiences are mixed.
The installation of my extra hard drive into the enclosure was fairly simple. They have a nice little booklet that describes the process and all you need is a phillips head screwdriver. Once I got the drive in the enclosure, things went downhill.
There is a glaring error in the manual on how to install the software (it tells the user to double-click a setup file that's not even on the entire CD, let alone the root). Also, even though Windows 2000 detected the drive and started installing a driver, the driver was unsigned and after a mandatory reboot, I still could not access the drive. I then proceeded to do a whole series of Windows updates, as they suggest in the manual, and tried reinstalling the drivers, but still no luck.
I'm currently waiting for a response from Iogear on this issue. The problem reporting form on their web site has an ASP error (bad sign) so I emailed their "sales support" email address. We'll see if they respond in an appropriate amount of time and can resolve this issue.
Fortunately, all I had to do on my secondary computer (Windows Me) was to plug the drive into a USB port. Windows Me detected the drive, installed a generic driver (that didn't require the Iogear CD) and seconds later I was able to access the drive and copy files to and from it...even without a reboot!
In summary, this drive may have compatability issues with Windows 2000 but on a Windows Me system it worked fine (at least for me).

More like a child's toy.First things firs when my set finally arrived and I opened the carrying case every single tool just fell out (non of them were strapped in place), after getting it all together I realized that two parts were missing (pen knife and Phillips screwdriver). Since It was a gift I can't really return it so I kept an incomplete set.
After looking threw all the tools I realized that all of them were rather poorly made and very low quality (no offense but when I hold a tool in my hand I want it to feel like a tool not a plastic toy), not to mention that the whole thing looks like it's been used. I really had a nice laugh about a little flash lite that comes with it, it's so cheep it doesn't even have an On/Off button you have to loosen the top portion so that the battery doesn't touch the bulb to turn it off. The soldering iron burned out after first use, so I had to replace it right away.
A couple of pieces were really unnecessary. The Cotton Swabs are good I guess if you get an itch in your ear while working. Same thing with the cleaning wipes, you can use them if you wonna take a lunch brake from work and wipe off your hands. The wire stripers I replaced right away, you actually need a screw driver to set it to different cable sizes (since it's almost impossible to set them to the right size you always end up cutting the wire or not being able to strip it).
Finally the Vinyl Carrying Case is Big and Bulky (like one of them all in one encyclopedias), I really think they could of remove some of them unnecessary stuff and make the case more portable. Did I mention that the batteries were also missing?
In conclusion if you're even thinking about buying this product GO TO THE STORE AND TAKE A CLOSE LOOK AT IT, MAKE SURE ALL THE STUFF IS IN THERE. The picture above is way too small to see how it all looks like, so if you buy this online be ready to be disappointed.

do not purchase this cd wallet!!Well, recently I realized that many of the CD sleeves were cracked along the edges, and some so badly that CDs won't stay put in them.
I have owned this product less than 6 months.
