Wow!!!! How did I ever live without this?
Great monitor...after some minor tweaking.
Outstanding 19" LCD for the price...First off, this screen looks beeeeauuuuutiful! I mean, wow, talk about clean, simple and sleek. I don't need all the crazy bells and whistles such as speakers, USB ports, etc, that this monitor lacks...c'mon who the hell relies on a monitor's speaker; likewise, if you need more USB ports, get a freakin 4-port hub for twenty bucks.
One other factor to note is that this monitor is only analog signal, no DVI. If half of you reading this even know what that acronym stands for, let alone what the difference is, I'd be very impressed. Basically, it's a digital signal that should make images on the screen appear better. Guess what, I couldn't give a hoot about this; in fact, my video card on my 1 year old Dell doesn't even have DVI output. Unless you're a gamer that has no life, no girlfriend and sits reading amazon.com reviews all day long, then don't worry about having only analog.
With that said, onto the actual image quality. Well, upon turning the screen on for the first time, I prayed to the Lord Almighty that no dead pixels should appear. And the Lord heard my prayer and proclaimed, "Thou shalt not have any dead pixels, not even ONE, lest Sony give you a hard time with their dead pixel policy". And the Lord gazed upon the screen and saw it to be good. Ah yes, Bible studies ver. 1.0 amazon.com style...
...anywhoo, this is the most brilliant screen I have ever seen. The contrast ratio is like 600:1...that means it's amazingly bright and vivid. Be prepared to actually lower the contrast and brightness--that's a good thing to have to do with a monitor folks. The onscreen menu options are clear, concise and virtually dummy-proof. For all you fretting about manually adjusting the screen size, rotation, alignment etc., fear not; this is an LCD and it automatically adjusts all the settings for you, like most other LCD's on the market. I have the image size set at 1280 x 1024 on my Windows XP computer and everything looks magnificent. Text is clear especially using the "clear type fonts" available only on XP for LCD screens.
If you're in the market to toss your 60lb CRT out the window and upgrade in style to an LCD, this is the one. Don't worry about Sony's newer models they have out now with DVI capability. Chances are your video card doesn't even have the output so you'd be wasting your money. This is an EXTREMELY affordable 19" monitor. Now's the time folks...buy it.

- Rich 500:1 contrast ratio, stunning 750-nit brightness
- 150-degree horizontal viewing angle; fast 22 ms response
- Component, S-video, composite, PC inputs
- PC and Mac compatible; 3-year warranty

We have surround sound, now we have surround sight!
The ideal entertainment display. Some may whine about the lack of a TV tuner, but it's actually a good thing: dishing out the extra $40 for one in turn allows you to use plenty of amazing software otherwise unavailable, such as that at dscaler.org, which allows you to view the tv signal in progressive scan (incredibly high quality).
To top it off, widescreen in windows is REALLY awesome. my only warning is, for any lcd monitor purchase, find a retailer that has a good trade-in policy for dead pixels. A+
WOW! Awesome Picture, Colorful & Vibrant!

Power house with a great price
Addendum to earlier review, great Sony customer serviceNo other complaints!
Except one thing, if this laptop is too heavy for you, go to the gym and work out.
^^The XBrite screen is great. It makes the colors SO vibrant and it makes my older laptop, also from sony, look pretty weak!
If you're not a super freak about wanting to burn DVD's, having the max processor and what not, then this laptop is definitely better than the K27, which is $400 more.

Sony Vaio desktops ...vaio came to me in a good time i had a packard bell on windows 98 for about 4 years am on Windows Me right now .. the only thing i can say is Vaio is a good investment . not only is it made by sony but

XP ROCKS!It is a great product for school and games too, Nivida chip biult in.
Made soem benchmarks looks like this cpu is even faster from Penium4 1.6Ghz.
If I had a choice I would buy this PC again!
XP Rocks!Well for those of you that don't know the difference between Intel and XP,.
AMD XP makes more operation per second from P4, it works with QuantiSpeed™ Architecture. That's why XP 1600+ is faster from P4 (1.6 or 1.7Ghz)
They say P4 1.6Ghz but in reality runs @1.2 Ghz comparing to XP.
Another ex. Car1 (p4) with 8 cyl 400 HP with only 150 torque, Car 2 (XP) 400HP 6 cyl 350 torque.
I am not AMD fan but it is true, just what I said.
I really don't see the point to buy Intel. Unless you are Intel Freak. The reason why Intel cost more money couse not many people are still familiar with the new name Athlon CPU. Penium name exist from 1995 unlike Athlon came out in 1999.
Decision is very simple.

- Stereo sound
- Records from radio or stereo microphone
- Built-in 2-way speaker
- Mega Bass
- Detachable belt clip

SONY!.......SO NICE!I use it all the time. You can play tapes, record on blank tapes, or listen to AM/FM radio. The quality of play of music and audio books is outstanding. Every note, every word, clear as a bell(and in stereo) through the adjustable headphones it comes with. It's useful for recording important meetings, reminders to yourself, or your favorite radio programs. You can listen to it on speaker instead of the headphones as well, but doesn't sound as great. I don't get as good reception on the FM as the AM, but moving it around helps somewhat.
Other features included are a detachable belt clip, the microphone and a little stand(which may also be attached to your collar or pocket),"Mega Bass" which may be turned on only with use of the headphones and an Automatic Volume Limiter System(to protect your ears).
It's a great price for all the functions it performs. It's a good thing to have in emergency situations(as we here in earthquake country know well)and runs on 2 AA batteries. There are also easy to follow instuctions if needed, where you will also find a 90 day limited warranty and Sony's on line address for any questions.
Lots of good things come in this small package...enjoy...Laurie
Love it for Books on Tape

Should have been standard
Lithium Camcorder Battery
Essential; Optimal Sony Camcorder BatteryMoreover, if you are willing to pay an additional $150 for the Sony AC-SQ950 Quick Charger, this battery can be charged in under an hour! Highly recommended.
Notes: (1) Don't confuse this with the older QM71. The "D" is important (no on-battery power indication or Quick Charge without it). (2) Be sure your device takes an "M Series" battery. Sony has several lettered infoLithium battery "series" (e.g., the super small "C Series" for compact digital cameras) that all tend to look alike in unscaled online product photos, but batteries from different series are NOT interchangeable.
