What is wrong with it? NOTHING!
The Newest Incarnation of Nikon's Veritable Classic.
The Little Camera that CouldThey're very wrong. The camera's lighter than most manual cameras I've held, but it feels very sturdy. The lens it comes with is just fine for students and beginners, and I'll hold on to it even though I plan on getting a fixed 50mm Nikon lens very soon. Still, for the price, you can't beat it!
If you've read other reviews about how cheap this camera feels and you're weary, all I can say is go to a camera store and hold it. If you want something much more rugged you'll pay a lot more money. If you want something to start shooting with then get this camera. It'll also help you start building a good Nikon kit so if you decide to upgrade bodies later you won't have to repurchase all your lenses.
Great clarity, great quality

Chrome and Black Leather
Best new camera of its typeThe FM3a is a completely mechanical camera with only the most basic electronics built in. DX sensors make forgetting to reset the film settings a thing of the past. The Aperture Priority shutter setting allows the you to let the camera do the heavy work of deciding the shutter speed. And the center-weighted TTL metering makes an external light meter redundant.
Forget all those niceties. You are looking for a camera that will take you back to the beginning, back to a time when you enjoyed the fiddling and fondling of cameras. You don't want the automations, and with this camera, you don't need to think about them. The film ISO settings can be changed manually to allow pushing and pulling of film. The shutter speed can be set manually from 8 seconds down to 1/4000th of a second. And the focusing and aperture setting is ALL manual.
If you like having complete control over a camera, this is the one for you. It won't give you spot metering or auto-focus or 'portrait' mode and 'landscape' mode. But it will give you the tools to craft the photos you want, the way you want.
It's not a digital wonder. Thank heavens.
That said, there are a few things Nikon could have done better. They could have put in a mirror lockup to keep the camera steadier. They could have made the exposure compensation dial easier to use (get rid of that button, Nikon!). And they could have made the light meter easier to see in the dark. But these things are niggling inconsistencies at worst.
The camera works well and is excellent at what it does. The rest, as they say, is up to you.
Back to the future...This baby has nearly all the pro features you are looking for in a camera. Built-in light meter, TTL flash, DX ISO, 1/4000 to 1 second, plus B. I usually choose the semi-automatic mode; by setting the aperture manually, then allowing the camera to set the shutter speed automatically.
As such, this camera is perfect for landscape photography. If you are like nature, and enjoy bush-walking or mountaineering, this Nikon is great. It only weighs 570g. This means that you can get away with using a light-weight tripod - if you don't mount big glass (a heavy telephoto lens). And it does not take much space. Good for travelling as well.
The only feature I sometimes miss is mirror lock-up. Without mirror lock-up, camera shake can cause problems at slower shutter speeds. But you can get around this issue by using the self-timer (causing the mirror to flip up before the shot is taken). A spot light-meter would have been nice, but you can still take spot readings by using a longer lens (or by zooming in).
The good thing about this film camera is that it provides me with the best of both worlds. I have the quality (and cheap price!) of film, the convenience of (slide) projection, but I can still scan the images into the computer if I need them digitally. And I can use the same set of lenses, should I decide to buy a digital body one day.
This is a simple to use semi-automatic camera - yet you can get find accessories for it (Nikon and third party) - including a motor-drive and flash.
Classic camera. I love it. Highly recommended.

Perfect Universal RemoteJust bought one a few hours ago. I have everything programmed in to it already and it is working great! It is VERY easy to setup! The learning functions allow me to make the remote work with some of my older components which is awesome. Personally, I prefer the feel of this remote to those membrane switch, LCD remotes that are out there. It just provides a nice tactile feel. There are a few negatives but they are very minor and should not detract most from purchasing this product:
1) The codes provided do not seem to match the functionality of the original remotes in all cases. All of the most important functions are mapped, but if you have a favorite function that is a little less common, be prepared to use the learning function.
2) Its got a BIG footprint. There are a lot of buttons to reach which can be a minor distraction.
3) All of the buttons set aside for learned functions are at the bottom and ergonomically speaking, they are a little tougher to get to.
BUT ON THE PLUS SIDE:
1) Backlight feature is awesome. It can be set to turn on whenever a button is pushed. It is bright and very helpful!
2) Its got a BIG footprint. You are going to have a hard time losing this bad boy.
3) In most cases you can re-program keys that are pre-programmed using the learning function (i.e. you want to change the volume on the TV rather than the cable box. You can program the cable mode volume control to change the volume on the TV instead without having to switch between component modes to do so.
Great product!! If you are looking for a great universal remote at any price, I would get this product!
Awesome features, controls everything!

Panasonic Tau Pure Flat Screen TV
Full Of Features, Great Picture

- High 600-line (maximum) resolution and sharpness
- Universal remote control, easy first-time setup
- 5 watts per channel (10 watts total) stereo sound from 2 front speakers, selectable virtual surround spatialization

Low price, High end features! The remote that comes packed in is a universal remote, so you don't have to purchase a separate remote for that purpose. You can control your TV, VCR, Satellite/Cable, or DVD. All you have to do is enter a simple programming code for each individual feature, depending on the brand. The remote is also very easy to use.
The functions of the TV are very simple to utilitze. Things such as out of the box set up, the V-Chip Parental lock, turning the speakers on or off(turning them off allows for any surround or stereo system you may have to produce the audio), adjusting the color settings, and an alarm clock.
The inputs on the back of the TV are spaced perfectly, labeled and color coded, so no confusion is possible.
I researched this a lot before purchase, and many people reported a camera-like tone. I have not heard this at all. This TV is highly reccommended!
Good Picture, Good Bargain
Everything that you want with a great pricePro:
Great Price(Compare to JVC and Sony)
Nice Picture(very comparable to Sony)
Lots of inputs(3 in all) feature(S-video, Component Video, RCA, etc)
Has an output for your stereo/amp!
Remote work in the dark.
Has a very good record of reliability(compare to RCA and GE) = check consumer report.
The variable volume(output)to your amp is definitely a nice feature(you don't need another remote to control the volume on your amp/stereo).
Con:
No PIP(Picture in picture). I have DirectTV, hence I don't need this because I don't want to buy another DirectTV receiver. If you really need PIP, buy the Panasonic CT27D31 instead.
Very weak User Manual(did not have instructions on what to do with the S-video). A man reading instructions?! Seriously, if you know how to connect VCR/Cable to your TV = you know what you doing. Hence the weak instruction manual is not that important.
Weak TV Speaker(compare to the JVC) = considering I have my own amp, this was not important(Read my bottom line).
Remote is pretty dumb(compare to RCA universal remote): i.e. if your remote is on DBSS mode, your volume doesn't work(RCA's remote will recognize that you meant to adjust the tv volume).
Bottom line:
If you are a tech geek(want everything and already have your own sound system), this is your system. There are very few system that you gives all the inputs/outputs, especially @ this price! The Panasonic gives the best performance where it counts: reliability and picture. As for other features(PIP and sound), do you really think any TV speakers will be better than your stereo? How often do you use PIP? Is it worth the price to have it? Have you ever use the "Last Channel" on your remote? Last note on PIP, have you ever try to watch TV w/your significant other in PIP mode? If you are still married, you are far more "blessed" than I;)

Finally all the best features in one! What I found was a collection of great features and improvements, which to save time, I'll list below.
1) Lighter handset, slightly smaller with an improved
ergomomic contour with crisp backlit LED displays.
2)Improved handset speaker phone voice quality.
3)NMH battery.
4)Short antenna with a ringer/message alert light on the
tip!
5)Simplified navigation buttons contolling a cell phone
system. (no more space wasting navigation disc)
6)Full commication (phonebook , intercom and conference)
between handsets.
7)Intuative, simple answering system controls with very
usefull LED display window.
8)Attractive styling in charcoal black. Enough silver
already!
9)Talking caller ID. Works great!!
10)Includes 2 handsets!
I join the previous reviewers in highly recomending this phone system, so thoughtfully executed, at a better than reasonable price!
Highly recommendedAlso, if you have caller ID service this phone has talking caller ID which works surprizingly well. When you receive a call the phone will ring a couple of times and then announce "call from Doe, John" from the handsets and the base. This makes it easy to screen your calls.
I really like the fact that you can access just about every function and feature through the handsets like retrieving messages, speakerphone, editing settings, etc.
An excellent value, highly recommended.
Lots of Value for the MoneyWhat sets this model apart is the features included for a very reasonable price, especially the inclusion of a second handset. It's great to have what amounts to three phones in one, since the base unit includes a keypad of its own in addition to the handset it accomodates. The base has a speakerphone built in, as do the handsets, so you can work hands-free anywhere. The ability to plug in a headset to the handsets is also convenient, though I personally don't envision the need to do so.
The clarity of the sound is truly extraordinary, and one of Panasonic's main advantages. The Voice Enhancer technology is valuable in the event of a bad connection, but even without it the intelligibility is superb.
Another nice feature is the variable ring tones on the base unit as well as the handsets, including several melodies. You can also subscribe to a service where other melodies and tones are downloadable, but this seems a bit nonsensical. After all - it's a phone, not a stereo system!
The unit and the handsets are easy to operate, and the instruction manual is clearly written with plenty of diagrams.
You won't be disappointed with the KX-TG2357B - it's a great system, easy to use, great-sounding, and the price is right.
By the way, I didn't happen to purchase mine at Amazon, but wanted you to know that this is a fine product for your consideration.

From a critic's point of viewThis is well worth the price, because you will be able to enjoy you call vs "hello? what's that noise? is that your phone?
Buy the phone, I took back a uniden which I tested near the microwave and it was terrible. This phone right nest to the microwave.. No problem.
Killer Business Phone!!!
Kudo's Panasonic For Making A Great Phone Even Better!First of all I've been very happy with the quality of the KX-TG2216 so I was a little leary of experimenting with another model. Let me just say that I'm very happy and impressed with the features of this new 5.8GHz phone. They have taken all of the features of the 2.4GHz phone I have and expanded them.
The one feature that I wish all phones would have is the directory matching feature, and now Panasonic seems to have included this on these new phones.....kudo's Panasonic. The way this works is that when you receive a call and if the number of the person is calling is matched in you directory that's how it's displayed on the phone. In other words if you have your mother in your phone book as "MOM" this is how it will show on the display. Panasonic calls this feature "Personalized Name Display".
On to the display. The new display is not only larger but the black lettering against the orange background makes to easier viewing.
The sound quality is very good with plenty of volume. The listening volume on the handset as well as the speakerphone are loud enough for us folks who are middle aged and only hear half of what people are saying to us.
There is now one touch soft buttons for both voicemail and the internal phone directory. Thanks Panasonic for now using a nickle netal hydride battery. When I first saw this battery I thought is was a lithium because of it's small size but it turns out to be nickle metal hydride with 830 milli amps output and seems to work very good so far.
Physically the phone itself is the same size as my 2.4GHz but Panasonic has shortened the antenna by about 1 1/2" inches. Speaking of the antenna, when you have voicemail a light built into the top flashes slowly indicating someone has left you voicemail. Also the light flashes rapidly when you receive a call. This would be nice if you chose to turn the ringer off but still want to visually know when someone is calling.
All in all I'm very happy with this phone and I would definitely give it a:
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

- Quick central focusing
- Sharp multicoated optics for superb contrast and vivid color
