Good Budget HeadphonesMy music preferences are as follows:
Rock (Aerosmith, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Eagles, David Bowie, Black Sabbath, Queen)
Electronica
Techno/Trance
Jazz
These headphones really shined in the Rock category. It reproduced songs beautifully, with good mids, very nice and deep lows, and good vocals. Sound channeling is excellent to give you the very best detail in all of your music.
Again, as I said before, these headphones are very powerful and therefore don't require an amp to be driven. I first ran the headphones directly to my SACD player, and noticed a MUCH bigger improvement over the HD-580s than expected. I then plugged it into my Meta42 headphone amp, and.. WOW! I was very impressed by how much more this unit shines with good gear.
In addition, these 'phones are very comfortable, and open-sound, so that it will be comfortable to wear for hours-on-end, and wont make it uncomfortable/sweaty around your ears.
To conclude, these headphones are a VERY good starter headphone for the developing-audiophile. The value is superb, the quality is great, the comfort and build quality is the usual Sennheiser best, and it doesn't require high-end material to shine like all other products from Sennheiser. This means that you can purchase these 'phones and get great results, and then when you are ready to take the plunge for a headphone amp, you will get even BETTER results. These headphones are the perfect example why a headphone amp can make a huge difference in your listening experience.
I hope this review has helped.

Great for college students
A damn fine pocket calc. College is tough on equipment, so high build quality of a calculator is a must. I'm used to a TI-86 (which is built like a tank), so the extremely light EL-506v is quite a change. However, the build appears plenty solid. The calculator is gray on the front, with a dark blue back and a dark blue translucent cover which snaps on nicely. The buttons are translucent as well, with the number and main function keys dark blue and the secondary keys white (the on key is also pink, and the secondary function key is yellow). There are slightly fewer keys than on TI's comperable model, but every button has several contextual functions. The display is quite nice. There are two lines, a large numerical one where data is input (with a small section dedicated to exponential notation) and a smaller one on top which shows you the entire equation you're working on. The screen has great contrast, and is large enough to be easily read. The keys have little travel and feel slightly floaty, but nothing that would suggest cheapness.
The EL-506v claims to posess 330 functions, and I believe it. I count 37 keys (besides the d-pad, which allows you to edit your current equation or cycle through old ones), and all posess a 2nd-key function and most have a third contextual function. There are all the things one would expect from a scientific calculator, and some you wouldn't. Most notable are a whole series of 44 unit conversions (technically; though half are simply the same conversion the other direction). Everything's there: mass, volume, area and more. There's also 40 physical constants. Both of these abilities are accessed through pushing a key and entering a reference number for the conversion/constant you want; the ref. numbers are printed on a two-sided card held in the calc's slide cover. I'm very pleased with the abilities of this calc, many of which I thought were confined to the realm of graphing units. Also, one last interesting ability is the so-called "advanced DAL" (Direct Algebraic Logic) input method, which allows you to type in equations just as they appear in textbooks. This makes things much simpler, since you needn't learn all types of esoteric entry methods for complex equations.
So, the lesson is this: if you need a convenient, small, thorough pocket scientific calculator, pick up one of these. You won't likely regret it.

Medical centres choice!I personally have the much advertised Ionic breeze, and don't think it realy helps that much, although I still keep it on. Don't worry about changing the filter either, 5years is a very long time and putting one in is a breeze.

Great combination of USB memory key and SD cardIt works perfectly well. The 480 Mb/sec are -as usual- a little bit overstated, but overall the reading/writing speed is very good. The quality of the device seems good. It comes with an additional USB cable, which allows pluging even if the USB ports are vertical. The total size is not as big as it looks on the pictures. I find it small enough.
Overall it is a great product that offers the flexibility of a USB memory key for the price of the SD alone.
Wow!A few details . . .
Insert it into a USB port, and in about 5 seconds Windows 2000 and Windows XP (home and professional) pop up a message telling you about the removable disk that it automatically found. Automatically! No drivers are required for Windows 2000 and XP. This is very cool when you are visiting a client or friend and don't really want to install stuff on their PC. From there, you use the USB drive just like a hard drive (drag and drop, etc.)
Here are some factoids I wish the product description (or picture) would have told me:
1) A 4 foot USB extension cable is included, which in my book eliminates any negative dealing with the fact that the USB ports on some computers are close together or very tight. (BTW I have a Compaq Presario with 2 USB's on the front and although it is tight the Bonzai works fine there without the extension, even with my mouse plugged in right beside it). Having to carrying a small cable is just not that big of deal folks.
2) It is very small. 2 1/2" long including the USB plug. 1 1/4" wide. 1/2" deep.
3) It is very light. About the weight of one Oreo Double Stuff cookie :)
4) The USB plug has a cap.
5) The case is heavy plastic.
6) A blue lanyard (i.e big shoestring looking thing that goes around your neck like a Referee's whistle) is included. I like this a lot since it helps remind me to take it with me :)
7) I have a 60MB zip file on my Bonzai right now which unzips faster than those on my hard drive. Did I mention the Bonzai is fast? And I'm only on USB 1.0.
8) The whole thing seems solid and well made.
BTW, a guy I work with and I did some research. We both concluded that Bonzai is the answer to our goal of a slick way to quickly move files between computers, with zero install requirements (at least on Win2K and WinXP). He is very envious of me since he opted for the Sandisk Cruzer instead of the Bonzai (because his Best Buy didn't have the Bonzai). I picked Bonzai and was delighted to find that amazon.com has it. The Cruzer is about 4-5 times bigger, and doesn't feel nearly as solid in my view.
I opted for the 128MB model instead of the 256MB or 512MB models because at the time the cost was still pretty high. Things look much better these days since the 256 mb version costs less than what I paid for the 128mb version. If I was buying again, I'd go with at least the 256MB version, simply because I never seem to regret having too much space :) But the 128mb (equal to 88 diskettes) has been enough for me except for one time (and I really didn't expect the Bonzai to handle that 50 GIGAbyte backup file). The good news is that if I want to expand, all I have to do is buy a new memory card and snap it in place. In 20 seconds my 128mb drive becomes a 256mb or 512mb, or whatever capacity is available at the time.
Bottom line: I've had mine for over a year now with ZERO PROBLEMS. Highly recommended!

Insert it into a USB port, wait about 2 seconds and WIN2K and WinXP (home and professional) pop up an acknowledgement of a new removable disk that it found. You use the USB drive just like a hard drive (drag and drop, etc.).

I opted for the 128MB model instead of the 256MB or 512MB models for two simple reasons: 1) 128MB is enough for me for now (equal to 88 diskettes), 2) the price of Secure Disk (SD) is bound to keep tumbling so I'll pick up a 256 and/or 512 once the 1GB (and beyond) SD's come out and drive down their cost of their little brother and sister :)
Enjoy your Bonzai!
