Great Keyboard
I bought this keyboard a while back. I love it, after 6 months still quiet. Nothing broken, still looks good and always comfortable. I'm a big gamer and lay alot, not once has a keystroke not been registered or have i been unhappy with my keyboard. If you hold one specific button down for long periods of time in your keyboard use letters may start to fade, but for the price this keyboard has exceeded expectations.

sleek and comfortable
i love the look of this keyboard, the feel of the buttons, and the quiet reactions you get from using its buttons. a definite 5/5. it's much better than those cheapy microsoft keyboards.

Fantastic
I don't know what the previous guy is talking about, or why he posted three times, but this keyboard can't be beaten. Personally I don't like all those extra buttons on fancy keyboards, so that is a plus. The keyboard is not flimsy at all, in fact it puts up with my beatings very well. I am in fact buying a second one right now because for this price and this stellar quality it cannot be outdone.

    feels great, looks great
I get compliments on this stylus all the time. People love to take it from me and just hold it. It truly feels great. I tried literally dozens of different brands and types of styluses (stlyii?) before I decided this was the best one. I don't need one that's four colors of pen and a pencil and a stylus and has a pocket clip. All I need is a stylus that feels right when I write with it. This one is just about perfect. It's much, much heavier than the standard Palm stylus, and it's longer. The orange tip is highly visible against the screen or the backlight; it almost looks like it glows in the dark. And most importantly, the stylus fits exactly into the Palm III stylus slot, and it stays put. The only little quibble I have is that the stylus comes unscrewed a little too easily (there's a reset pin inside), but then again, I come unscrewed easily myself, so I can relate.

The Best Styli I have everr used-great letter recognition
    Hello,

If you are trying to make a decision on which stylus to buy for your palm, get this one. It is worth every cent.

I own the palm IIIx, and IIIxe. I used the PALM 3 pack stylus that you can purchase..., but they can't compete with the panache for letter recognition. I even was using prior to the panache, the write right screen enhancement on the bottom portion of my palm screen thinking it would help with letter recognition, and it did help some, but when I used this new styli I had no need for the screen protector anymore because the letter recognition is great. It also writes very smoothly. It is sleek, and gives your palm a classier look.

Another thing, the manufacturer will guarantee the orange tip of the styli for life, with free replacement. The styli is heavier than the other palm styli which makes it easier to write. I am going to pick up a couple more because the price is right.

    Good luck shopping!

    Great item
A must have for palm users. It improved the writing recognition and doesn't miss the spot after buying this. It feels great in the hand too. I love it.

    very pleased so far!
I have rather sweaty fingers (I tell ya, this is really annoying), so it is essential for me NOT to rely on touch pad too much. This tiny mouse has been a life saver for me. It is rather affordable, and works pretty well with many (but not all; occasionally it doen't work on very, very smooth surfaces) surfaces. There are more expensive chordless models, but in many occasions, I'll be working on my notebook computer with limited amount of space, so having the "retractable" chord doesn't bother me at all.

"Retractable" is indeed the key here. It's so compact that you don't feel that you are carrying around yet another tiny electronic gadget along with your cell phone, mp3 player, shaver, etc., etc. Anyways, highly recommended.

    Best Laptop Accessory!!!!!!!
I LOVE this little mouse. Its so compact but it doesnt feel too small. Portability is awesome as its cord is retractable. Theres not one downside to this mouse! I highly recommend this for any laptop user. This is also the first time I've owned an Optical Mouse and I will NEVER go back to a track ball mouse. You no longer have to drag the mouse everywhere and when using a laptop thats really helpful!!! You can also use this on almost any surface!

    great size and useability
This is a fantastic solution for a laptop. I don't like touch pads or even the stick in an IBM ThinkPad. I used to carry a full size mouse. This is virtually weightless and can fit in any spare part of a laptop bag. I initially found my hand felt cramped because I was trying to hold it with the same fingers I use for a full size mouse, but I consciously just rearranged my fingers and found it to be incredibly easy to use for long periods of time. The retracting cord is ingenious.

does not work consistently if not plugged in directly
if you use either a KVM or PS2 keyboard/mouse extension cables, this wireless keyboard will periodically stop working.

    Otherwise, it's fine.

    Not user friendly
I found this keyboard very bad if you need glasses to see the keys. They are very small. Also the software is wacky. You need to turn off the software.

    Simply wonderful
There are more expensive cordless keyboards available, from both Logitech and Microsoft (and others), but if you tend to replace your keyboard every few months it makes more sense to buy something inexpensive. This Logitech model may not have very many extra keys (across the top of the unit), but the ones it has are enough for me. These extra keys, by the way, can easily be reassigned to different tasks - so you if you have no need for a "Webcam" button, for example, you could make that button do something else, like take you to a website, or launch a favorite program. I did not expect these features to work on my older operating system, Win98se, but indeed, all of these features work just fine. As with nearly every product that comes with some installation software, however, I would recommend that you download the software from the product's website rather than using the included CD-rom, to ensure you are getting the latest version; that worked best for me. I have one minor criticism of this keyboard: the letters printed on the keys themselves are rather small. I am not saying the keys are small, but rather, the printing on the keys that identifies which key is which is a bit small and narrow. This won't be an issue for anyone who types without looking at their keyboards, and it won't be an issue for people with 20/20 vision. But I feel they should have been a bit larger. To their credit, Logitech did print the common shortcut information on the front-cliff of the keys (C has "copy", V has "paste", and so on) and the feel of the keys is just fine. I would not call it a quiet keyboard, rather, I'd say it is average in terms of how much the keys clatter. The receiver for this cordless keyboard has a suitably long cord, and is very discrete. The keyboard comes with an attachable wrist-rest, which you will not find useful if you sometimes pick the keyboard up to type from your lap (the attachable wrist-rest will invariably fall off if you do that). Fortunately the low profile of the keyboard means there is no need for such a rest. For those looking to try a cordless keyboard for the first time, or for people who go through keyboards like some people go through dress slacks, this is an excellent choice.

Harmless fun, even for someone with much more $$$ kit!
Having progressed from MKII's thru to Pioneer CDDJ-1000's I still loved playing around with this true toy! Having seen this product badly demonstrated in the Yamaha shop nearby I still retained the interest to know what was do-able with this thing - making the clear assumption that Yamaha REALLY know what to do with digital drum sounds...

The loops are okay, i mean a fair few are weird (but useable) stuff - but on the whole made a joy by the break down Part Mixer setting... Then you bring in the FX and you are really talking. You could go on for hours about each, but you start envoking the Ring Mod effect and playing with the knobs and dials (names become irrelevant when you know what they do!) and you can keep a crowd going for hours!!!

Hard to be a DJ Snob when you see what fun you can have!

    Enjoy!

    Not Bad
I bought the DJXIIB about 1 week ago. I had always wanted to "scratch" and the IIB certainly allowed me to do that. Before buying it, I read all of the online reviews that I could find. Not surprisingly, some people said it [stunk] whereas other raved. I've played around with it now for about a week and I have not even come close (given time constraints) to playing all of the sounds, etc. I have a Radio Shack Concermate 990 MIDI keyboard and I've hooked the two up. The keyboard plays through the IIB and you can apply the 10 effects to the keyboard notes (It'l like having 10 effects pedals). A neat feature that I noticed is that when you play a pattern on the IIB, it automatically adjusts the 6 drum pads on the Concermate 990 (they look like orange Chicklets) to match the correct drum kit on the pattern.

I also have a CD / MP3 player (the D-Link) and the IIB matched the beats on the songs. I could see hooking up my keyboard to the IIB and the CD player to both the IIB and a mixer. You could play up to 120 MP3 songs on the MP3/CD player and all the while sync the beat with the IIB (with a split cable since the D-Link has a line out jack) all the while laying down melodies over the top of the IIB with the keyboard (I've noticed that several of the patterns are simple I, IV, V progressions).

With a CD player playing 120 songs, scratch capabilities, and a keyboard, add a mixer and you could be the life of your friends' parties.

    For the beginner or hobbyist
OK, Let's get one thing straight people. If you are a DJ, think your a DJ or are expecting that this will perform like a Pro DJ system...YOUR DREAMING! The Yamaha DJX is the adult version of getting your first toy keyboard, guitar or heck even "My First Sony". If you want to become a DJ or just want to fool around this is the BEST machine on the market. The price and features set it far above any of its competitors. With 700 patterns, 10 effects and 73 scratching effects, it will take you a year to examine the diversity of music that can be made. I bought this machine to add flavour to my guitar and drum tracks. When I took it out of the box I was hooked and can't put it down. A creative individual with limited electronic knowledge will be able hook this up to Midi, or even a 4-track recorder. The instruction manual is a godsent, explaining in immaculate detail how the unit works. It comes with 100 tips which are invaluble as well as software that unlocks even more information. Keep in mind that this is not a pro unit and you will be extremely BLOWN AWAY by what Yamaha has delivered in such a small package.

    Good for no-hassle start-off
This was my very first electric guitar kit. I got it
from Costco few years back. Now Costco has replaced
it with Fender fake-strat (squier I believe). EG-112
is much better than the fender. It has one humbucker pickup
which sounds much better for heavy riffs. The guitar is
well made for a sub $200 kit. The tuners are good and hold
tune fine for long periods of time. But heavy use of tremolo arm
can put it out of tune pretty fast. The fretboard is good quality . The frets on this guitar are much better than what I saw on the
Squier. But they are kind of small and the fretboard itself is
pretty thin. So if you have fat fingers, stay away from this
    guitar.
After 2 years of constant use (atleast 1-2 hrs every day),
the pickup selector became loose and I had to constantly
play with it to select the right pickup.
The amp is very good for bedroom levels and for portability.
If you are into hard rock/metal you HAVE to invest in a
good distortion pedal, else it will be hard to get the chunky
    palm mutes.

Now, if I have $200 to spend on an amp and a guitar today, I
would probably not but this kit. For $200 I would get a
brand new Yamaha Pacifica guitar ($169 at guitar center)
and a small used solid state amp (<$50). Ofcourse this
setup would also need a good distortion pedal.
All said, anyone who plays electric guitar would know
that you will never get anything close to "great" for
$200 (amp+guitar). You need to spend atleast around $450 for
    a decent sounding setup. ($200 guitar + $250 amp). With a
good setup, the learning curve would be much better.

summary: yamaha EG-112PR is good if you do not have any guidance
on what to buy and just wanna start off learning without wasting
couple of months just trying to figure out whats the best gear
    for your price range.

    Nice Guitar, Good Price
You get everything you need with this package. The Guitar is great but the straps a little small but its ok. The amp is pretty small so any distortion you put on it will turn out sounding less than pleasant. The guitar book is pretty good although there are better ones. It comes with an extra set of strings and picks. Its a good deal, i highly recommend it.

    great guitar
I bought this guitar when i was 15 now i'm 17 and i still have the same guitar, its still in great condition and great sound still comes from it. This guitar might cost less than other guitars but the tone, the harmonics its amazing how good this guitar sounds. I recomend everyone wanting to be a guitarist or for a gift for a friend to buy this great Yamaha guitar. It's great, no flaws at all.

    Disappointed with the keyboard.
I purchased the logitech keyboard expecting a high quality product, but I am disappointed. As an experienced typist, I type with my eyes on the screen or the document, not on the keyboard. I noticed 2 major problems with the keyboard.

    1. The navigation keys on the right (Insert, Delete, PgUp, Pgdn) are smaller than standard size, apparently to make space for the 3 internet access keys. Big mistake!! Every time I try to delete something or go up on the page, I miss the key, because it is so small, I end up hitting the other two keys, including PgDn. The F1-F12 keys are also smaller (smaller than the fingertips) again making it harder to find them by "feel", a key aspect to TOUCH-typing.

    2. Another major problem: The keys are "squishy" and "flimsy". Hard to feel if the key has been "pressed" as there is no good, crisp feel when the switch has been made. With the extra "give" past the switch point, my hands got tired easy after just a paragraph or 2 and battling all the errors that occur in every other word. I am impressed with all the "bells and whistles" manufacturers add to their products, but not if they do this at the expense of some basic necessary features
that interfere with the basic utility and function of the product.

Best current generation keyboard on the market.
This Logitech keyboard is truly the best feeling keyboard I've come across for a while. I love everything about, especially these days when manufacturers keep adding more and more buttons that just clutter the designs and get in the way of it's main function: typing!

I am a serious computer user, and I was sad to find out that logitech discontinued the design for a new more ergonomic model. The problem I have with the newer model is that the spacebar is way too narrow. I'm sure they did this to lesson the throw for the keys, but I don't think that I'll ever get used to it. However this model is perfect and I highly recommend that you purchase a new one on ebay. It should run you about $15 shipped on ebay, and it's worth more than double that in my opinion. Email me with any questions.

    Excellent keyboard
This keyboard is great. It came with a computer I bought and I haven't had a single problem with it at all. I do multiple things on my computer, such as typing papers, designing websites, and gaming where you need to react quickly, and this computer fits every need perfectly. It is very comfortable and includes a wrist rest, although I don't use it. The keyboard itself also includes three customizable button that you can set to open your home page, e-mail program/website, and search engine. You can set these to just about any program or website you want, however, so you could have the search engine button open your AOL Instant Messager if you would prefer, for example. Although it doesn't come with all the bells and whistles of more expensive products, I recommend this keyboard due to its excellent performance, comfort, and low price.

Good, but not enough to stand by itself
I've always been loyal to Yamaha keyboards, so when I decided to purchase a new (consumer-level) keyboard, I figured I'd continue to be loyal to the tradition. Well, after having dropped by the local Sam Ash music store, it seems like it's going to be the end of that tradition. As much as I continue to love the sounds that Yamaha offers in its keyboards, the power that this one delivers, along with the design it comes with (don't know... things are just oddly placed, in my opinion), made me drop my wish for another Yamaha, considering my budget max of $300 for a keyboard these holidays. Instead, I will be buying the Casio WK-3000 Professional Series 76 Key Digital Recording Studio Styled Keyboard, which came out in late 2003.

another trick to raise the volume
I used another trick to raise the voice volume. Use the DUAL voice function, and set the dual voice be the same as the main voice. In this way, you DOUBLED the volume. Of course, the price is no more different dual voice.

    Certainly good enough!
OK, I haven't tried the Casios that some rave about, but I do know this...the keyboard does offer an adequate volume level (particularly how I play). If you want more volume: 1-Try turning the touch response off. 2-Go into the function menu and turn the M.Volume control UP. I'm certain that the naysayers didn't read into the manual. I admit that there's not a ton of additional sound, but it's set at "104" from the factory and can go to "127" if you choose to. That's because Yamaha has given the unit some "play" so you can raise or lower the sound to match other built-in settings. Also when a "song" is playing there's extra sounds like bass, cymbal etc., so how much can you expect of 12watts, total? 3-Go to radio shack, get the right adapter and plug it in to you stereo (or I've read about some adding inexpensive PC speakers for $30-$60). One or all of the above will do the trick.

It's got a great range of voices. The piano sounds great as well as others like guitar, church organ, etc. There's 600 to choose from. I advise the 202 model which will include a sustain pedal, AC power adapter, some 'phones and an extended warranty.

    Pencap
The reason i purchased these pencap/stylus thingers was A.) so i could have an extra styli around, and B.) to replace the pencaps that i lose ever so constantly. But i guess it was somewhat my fault for buying these, for within a week or purchase, i found myself purchasing a new set of four. I lost them just like regular pencaps. I think the handspring pen/styli is a much better way to go. It fits into the visor, and is much easier to keep track of.

    Pretty handy
Nice to have about in an emergency. Converts nearly any pen or pencil into a tol for your PDA. Nice bonus, they glow in the dark (pretty brightly too).

Why didn't I think of that?
This is definitely one of those "Why didn't I think of that?" ideas. I've got them on pens in my cars, so I don't have to pull the stylus out all the time, and I have a couple on pens within easy reach around the house.

They are more comfortable than the stock stylus, and sharper. The fact that they are sharper bothered me at first, but they don't seem to scratch the screen (expecially if you use the WriteRight protectors)and the fine point makes them more accurate, expecially when trying to get between letters and words on your Palm.

A cheap accessory for yourself, and a cheap, useful gift for a friend with a PDA.

LandWare GoType Pro Keyboard for Palm Vx
Pros: solid keyboard with no folding -- harder to damage than the Palm rendition.
The keyboard is slightly smaller than a normal keyboard so is a little hard to type comfortably for longer entries, but for most Palm entries, it works fine.
Cons: It is larger than practical for me for most uses since I got a palm to avoid carrying a laptop/bulky stuff. So while it is nice that is one solid piece, I don't use it as much as I would if it fit in my fanny pack.

    Lots of extras
I'm really impressed with this product.

First, it's about half the price of the Palm product (which I've used) and I like this one better. I prefer the one piece (non folding) construction - can't put it in your pocket, but easily fits in a briefcase or backpack. Just feels solid, whereas the folding ones feel flimsy. Excellent docking base for the Palm, supports it really well.

It came with some nice extras I wasn't expecting. It came with a full functioned Word Processer (complete with Spell check, a thesaurus) capable of saving in .doc format, then loading directly into Word upon HotSync. If bought by itself, this software is about the same price of the keyboard - here, it's a great free bonus. I also appreciate the fact that you can HotSync directly from the keyboard, something many other models don't do.

This is a great keyboard, and truly does make the Palm function more like a mini-laptop. Well worth it.

    Great product for traveling
I use the Landware GoType! Keyboard for my Palm V, and it is just great! Not only is it great for typing, but when traveling it dobles as a hotsync cradle, it comes with cords for power and a serial cord for hot syncing.
