I was shopping around for a modem for my Palm IIIxe for awhile, and it came down to either the Diamond Mako travel modem or the Psion travel modem. I ended up buying the Diamond Mako and I am very pleased with my decision. The Diamond Mako modem is sometimes $20.00 cheaper than the Psion and, believe it or not, it is the EXACT SAME MODEM! I was surprised when I got the modem out and it even says "Psion 56k travel modem" right on the label. So Definitely go for this one.

Here are my complaints: The reason that I was looking for an infra-red modem is so I could use my GoType Keyboard while I am surfing on the net. This will NOT work if you use a Palm Pilot! Even though it seems that there are two separate ports (infra-red and the serial port on the bottom), they are actually the same port with two different inputs. What this means is that you have to "turn off" the serial port on the bottom (where the GoType hooks into) in order to use the infra-red port (where the modem sends info into). This was a disapointment, but not much of a problem. Another thing that I noticed is that the modem is not too sensitive, and you must stay very close to it in order for it to work. But, all in all it was a good purchase, and I am happy I shopped around rather than just buying the more expensive Psion version.

This is a great way to get on the internet while on the go. It works with almost all platforms of PDA, be it a Palm, Pocket PC or Psion. Also, because it uses the IRDA port, you can get on the net and still use your expansion slot for memory. My only complaint is the battery life... which falls somewhat short of the advertised "4 hours". If you plan on doing a lot of traveling, you might want to pick up the optional AC adapter for this while you are at it. Other than the battery life, this is a great little unit and well worth the money.

Purchased SupraMax v92 56k WinModem.Didn't say it was for Win 2k
only.No modem drivers came with it.Again the ad didn't say that.
I would call that misleading.

I purchased the SupraMax 56K faxmodem and was amazed at the easy intallation, I was up and running in about 15 minutes. Once the installation process was finished I took advantage of the faxing software (very user friendly).

Furthermore, since I have started using this modem I am getting connection speeds of 4800+ consistently. I did run acrooss a scenario where one particular ISP did not support K56Flex they would only support V.90 so, I called Diamond tech support and within minutes they guided me to the correct upgrade to download which solved the problem.

I would recommend this modem to anyone looking for an affordable,easy to use modem with the flexabilty of V.90 & K56Flex technologies.

seems promising, but installing is a great hassle. Technical Support department extremely weak. don't buy unless you are a professional.

This is a great modem. I used it with Red Hat Linux 8 & 9, Mandrake
linux 7.0 & 8.1, MSDOS 6.2, PC DOS 2000 and Dr Dos 7.03 and never had any problems with it. It came with software but I never used it.
I was also surprised at how fast they shipped it to me. I would buy another.

Power line is the way of future. I hear these are being used for Cheap Internet Access in Singapore and parts of Thailand by the upcoming ISP's

There are 2 models. USB model is best if you
1.require only one connection and will never need more.
2.Do not wish to bother yourself with the Networking stuff.

But if other wise I suggest purchasing a Bridge model which is extendable.

All the Required accesories come in the box and you will not normally need any thing except your System...

These adapters can currently communicate up to 300 Ft of Cabling without any UPS in the Route.

I have been using these for the Last 6 months and they never failed. The Throughput is good and installation is a breeze. Gigafast seems to have a lot of help on their site for installation and much info is sent in the box.

Security is a bit low and I dont suggest them for Multi Dwellings if the Power is shared between 2 adjoining Apartments.

But beware of the rebates being Promised by Gigafast. I did not receive the rebate for two adapters I have purchased as on date after 6 to 8 months.

I have used Hawking products in the past since the quality and price points are ideal for small offices or home offices. The newer Access Points are small and well-designed. The documentation is very helpful in setting up a wireless infrastructure in minutes. The built-in web-based set-up is fast, simple and easy to use. The supplied software can also be used to communicate and set-up the hardware. It does work with several types of 802.11b cards, including pc cards, card bus, USB and compact flash, as well as cards from other 802.11b-compliant vendors.
The web-based set-up menu allows the unit to be customized as needed for network compatibility and security. Additional software is included to assist in set-up and detection.

I bought this b/c my DSL modem came with a dinky, 6' cable. Not enough! This one is great, I would have given it four stars if it would have come in lengths longer than 25'. like 30, or 50'.

The Belkin Hi-speed Internet Cable is not going to get you any consistently better connection rates or ping times if you already have a good quality modem and wall connection. It will improve connection rates when you suspect there may be interference in the wall socket: I found that, overall, I was getting slightly better hook-up, but then the line service in Ireland is remarkably dodgy and inconsistent by North American standards. The current price is very good, so if you suspect there may be weaknesses in your line or you just need every little bit you can get (we pay by the minute for local connection), this is just what you want. (Compare the price of the Monster Cable variants.)

I really like the cable, it did everything I ever wanted it to do, lol. But seriously, its a good product.

This modem is easy to setup and use. The only reason I did not give it five stars is that I thought an external modem should have a jack for the phone. This model does not have one. There is also no power off button, you have to unplug. I guess I was spoiled by the US Robotics styles.

This product is excellent for someone who is not interested in spending a fortune on a fax machine. While most people wouldnt use the machine as a telephone or answering machine, it comes with these features for those who desire to do so. The fax comes out clear, and at this low price i recommend this product as a fax machine.
