This modem is a really good buy, do not judge because of the price, 'cause is low, but the perfomance... Besides, it does very good on Linux and 486 machines, so, what are you waitting for? Purchase!

This is a fast modem with fax/speaker phone capability at a rock bottom price!

If you are looking for a small KVM, this unit is fairly adequate. It does a good job handling video, and I have not experienced any ghosting or other loss of picture quality, which I have experienced on other KVM's. It does require AC power (adapter is included) and does not come with any cables. The annoyance is minor. It beeps loudly (at least it is loud in a quiet office) when I switch from one computer to the other.

This is one of the few DSL devices that work well back to back. I use them to connect offices over short distances < 5km over 'dry pair' or an point to point alarm circuit. There is a small panel on the back of the unit. Set switch 1 to ON for one of the units and they will connect. I can't figure out why this feature is not documented.

Great product.

Works very well, easy to setup. One minor problem, the firewall only allows for one VPN tunnell out to the same access point.

Well first of all i just recently bought the modem and i have to say i am very proud of it except that sometimes the palm cant find it even after changing batteries. If you have aol you can go on aol but its hard to get on lets say amazon.com or .... Because aol doesnt support that kind of stuff i guess so i was disappointed. But when i went on aol on it it was very fast and didnt have alot of problems. So if you have compuserve, earthlink, at&t world net, netcom, shore, mindspring , ibm global network i think it will work for you. Overall very nice product.

This is a cool replacement if anything. Its not as good with out it so might as well buy it. plus it so cheap. what deal.

I use this KVM to swap between a PC and a Notebook. Previously I was using an unpowered switch, but I would lose cotrol of the mouse each time I switched (unless I put the notebook in stand by). This product was exactly what I needed.

I purchased my U.S.Robotics modem Model 5690 and was very pleased with it. The documentation with the modem was not very well detailed. I ended up phoning their tech support and got everything going right in just a few moments. The CD included has all the voice files you'll need to get up and running. It comes with Internet Explorer ver.5 and numerous other software including a modem manager. I have my modem set up as an answering machine. I had once thought of running Symantec's Talkworks Pro ver. 3 but decided to run WinFax Pro ver. 9 as a companion to the the U.S. Robotics software which is included. It runs straight and smooth. No problems.
