Great monitor!
I bought this monitor from Office Depot through Amazon.com and am very pleased with it. I read a lot of other reviews about LCDs having dead pixels on them, and was a bit concerned before ordering, but I am pleased to say that I only found 1 dead pixel. This monitor rotates both vertically and horizontally and looks and functions great. Color and resolution are very good also.

Crystal clear quality !
I just updated my home computer system and am so happy with my new monitor- it is a flat panel LCD monitor that is smaller, more compact and streamlined than my bulky older monitor. The Sony Flat panel LCD looks modern and has sharp resolution- its great for gamers!

Great quality svga extension cable for a great price!
The picture Amazon currently shows for this cable is not the correct product picture for the actual item. The one in the photo shown is entirely different then the actual product you will receive and if you go to the Tripp Lite official website (TrippLite.com) you will see that the actual cable corresponding to this model (and the one you actually get) is a much more thick and industrial quality cable, unlike the one pictured. With a added ferrite shielding coil that most of you have seen on the VGA cable coming out of your monitors, this cylindrical hard black covering provides additional protection from noise that may enter the cable and disrupt the image and its quality. Other cables I tried did not have this ferrite "section" and were much thinner. Trying several extension cables that were much more flimsy feeling and thin including a Belkin SVGA cable, I found they all caused ghosting and degraded image quality. Unlike those this Tripp Lite cable has worked perfectly. This is a great price compared to the $20+ or so retail stores charge for inferior quality extension gold cables.

    Clears up those fuzzy monitors.
I added a standard monitor extension cable between my computer and my beautiful new NEC MultiSync 1700M+ monitor and ended up with a fuzzy, ghosting image. I replaced that cable with this and my monitor is once again absolutely sharp and clear. This is a very thick black cable, nearly twice as thick as a standard quality extension cable. It's not cheap, but there's no point in spending hundreds on a great monitor and sacrificing display quality with an economy extension cable. This cable won't let you down.

    Gorgeous monitor!
This is a great looking, great working and well priced monitor. Sometimes I turn my computer just to see it. go get one.

    oooh, we love viewsonic
We have had this extremely trouble-free monitor hooked up to our HP computer for 5 and a half months now, and love it! Flat screens are the best. The image quality is perfect- I watched a dvd on the computer and the quality astounded me. The reason we got this brand was because the guys at office depot had one hooked up, running continously, for over 1 year with no problems...

    Great long-term investment
I highly recommend this monitor as one who has used it 8 hours a day, five days a week, for the last 18 months. The image quality is superb and has not diminished. I've found the monitor great for general publishing use, including a lot of time in Photoshop (graphics & color-intensive) and FrameMaker (B&W/text intensive). I use it at 1162x864 and there is no flicker. I previously used a Sony Trinitron, and I rate this twice as good as the Sony.

Bright, clear picture with awesome resolution...
This monitor is one of the best 21" monitors I've used to date. I've been using it for a year now, at 1600x1200, true color, at 85Hz refresh.

The picture is sharp and bright, with accurate colors, and the controls are quite intuitive.

    A Wonderful Monitor!
This is an excellent monitor. Well worth the money. This Monitor is well suited for graphics work or for playing games. A great choice in monitors!

An awesome monitor that happens to be inexpensive.
This is a phenomenal value! This monitor has excellent color and contrast. If you were thinking of getting a 17" monitor, DON'T. At this price, this monitor is UNBELIEVABLE, and you should buy it. This is also PC Magazine's Editor's choice.

    Great Monitor
I purchased my first flat screen. Viewsonic had good reviews, so I purchased their brand. The monitor is crystal clear with no flaws. It is very bright, which can be adjusted. It is clearer than my old CRT, and larger viewing area because the 17" screen is full. Great purchase. No headaches.

    Nice Monitor
This monitor is sharp. It mounts on the wall or sits on the desk. It has built in speakers (which I don't use--so I don't know how they sound). There is one dead pixel, the rest are very sharp.

Originally, the images on the screen were shadowed. This was a result of my video card (All-in-wonder 8500). I upgraded my video card (G4Ti4200). Now it looks stunning.

I chose this monitor because of it's 16ms refresh rate, which, from my research, is one of the fastest on the market for flat panel monitors. I play Battlefield 1942 with it and it look as good as my previous CRT (playing games was a concern I had regarding flat paneled monitors--this monitor works fast!)

If you have the right video card, this monitor is a winner. Crisp lettering on documents, fast refreshing for gaming. Viewsonic is a reputable name and I couldn't be more satisfied.

Simply the best "upgrade" to date
Right out of the box, the ViewSonic VP211b required only one brightness/contrast adjustment to calibrate its output for print, which is a remarkable change from my experience with a high end, problematic and short-lived CRT with integrated calibrator. It takes just a few minutes to understand the on screen controls and to know the buttons by feel. The monitor base is solidly constructed and can be positioned to make the two "legs" less obtrusive, which is important for my use with a rather large graphics tablet. The display's height, pivot and rotation adjustments are precise and virtually effortless. In portrait mode, the amount of vertical real estate is surprising and has become increasingly preferable to landscape mode for a number of tasks.

After two hundred-plus hours of use, I have yet to find a single bright or dead pixel, but there is one major caveat: a "No Signal" error occured on screen with the DVI cable installed. ViewSonic's Customer Support rep would only say that my ATI Fire GL 8800 accelerator card must be incompatable, but my question about a compatable cards list drew a non-response.

The monitor operates perfectly well in analog, but to avoid startup errors in Windows 2000, it's important that the "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display" box in the Display Properties/Settings/Advanced/Monitor window is checked (make sure that all changes are made while the display is in landscape mode!).

Overall, the VP211b's large screen presence, highly flexible positioning, easy USB port access and neutral color balance are qualities that were either lacking or altogether missing with prior monitors. Although I cannot comment on its digital-input performance at this time, the VP211b nontheless provides a comfort level that exceeded my expectations.

    Excellent sharpness and color fidelity
I previously had a 21" CRT/17" LCD dual monitor configuration, and replaced the 21" CRT with this monitor. The first thing I noticed was how bad it made my older 17" LCD look. Colors are sharp, contrast is extremely good, and there are no color or brightness variations across the surface that I can spot. The unit I have has absolutely no dead or stuck pixels, but I don't know what the ViewSonic policy is on that, so I may just be lucky.

It is an expensive monitor, but I wanted the combination of (relatively) small footprint and 1600x1200 resolution, and have been very happy with it.

The USB 2.0 hub is a bonus, as very few LCDs seem to offer one. The box supplied both VGA and DVI cables. If you have not priced them out, DVI cables tend to run in the $50 to $70 range, so having a DVI cable included is a significant feature.

Cornea 17" LCD Monitor [black] CT1700
This monitor is absoutely superb. I don't know why anyone would buy a different one, much less insist on a "brand" name. Cornea is trying harder, as it were; and succeeding. I'm guessing that in a year or so its prices will be a lot higher. And there's no problem reaching them by phone during the week.
