    The ONLY Premium 15" CRT???
I wanted a 15" CRT for the computer I recently built. I REALLY wanted a good screen, but one that was not too large or heavy. This product actually cost more than some low or medium priced 17" CRTs. Every other, I mean, every other 15" CRT except for NEC's own AS50 had lower maximum and recommended resolutions. That is, the AS500 has a RECOMMENDED resolution of 1024x768 at 85Hz, wheras these stats are other screens' MAX resolution. Most 15" CRTs have recommended resolution of 800x600.

Sure, I could have purchased a 15" LCD - but at what cost? A good CRT is simply superior in every way except for weight, and this one is the best of all. I just hope other people see the wisdom in this so that they will continue to be manufactured...

      Phenomenal Display
Ordered two of these units for work. They will be used to display status information to large groups of people (like the arrival & departures board at the airport). We've had these displays in the office to set up the application --everyone is wowed by them. Something as silly as a tropical fish screen saver on this big of a screen with great brightness and excellent color saturation is absolutely hypnotic! Now if I could just justify a unit for home!

      Great
This is a great monitor, its compact, stylish and its button controls are easy to use. It's plug and play. It gives you lot of room in your desk, and you can get it for under 300. Nec by Mitsubishi is a very well known brand too. So definitely its worth buying.

      Decent LCD Monitor
I like this monitor a lot it comes with some nice software that allows you to tweak its settings until the picture is just right. It's viewable in direct sunlight and movement is clear and easy to see. I wouldn't suggest using this to play any 3d games however 2d games far reasonably well on it.

Definitely the most bang for the buck
I have two NEC Multisync 95 19 inch monitors. At the time I shopped the entire store to see what the best video picture was. Hands down the Sony flat screen CRT was the best at almost twice the price of the NEC. A close second was the NEC. It was clearly a better picture than everything else in the store. It was more expensive at the time, then it is now.
In a time when everyone is going LCD flat screen, mini slim monitor crazy, I have come to realize that the CRT monitors have a huge edge on picture quality-dollar value. Mating that to the fact that they are the least expensive, and you have a winner. Personally, I don't mind that one foot of real estate being taken up by the back of the monitor, when I can buy a larger unit for less money, and a superior picture. I must admit LCDs have come along way since they were introduced. Then new NEC LCD1725 is a beautiful picture, and the Sony 19 is as well. For the most part LCD pictures are quite disappointing. Even the expensive Plasma screens at ten times the money, don't give you the clarity of the Sony, and are still tweaked out by the NEC.
The difference in size allows me to move the monitor farther away from me, so the miniscule radiation is of no effect.
The thing about the LCDs is that they have a two dimensional quality about them. Some even have a cartoon appearance. It's a fad, but clearly an inferior picture for twice the price.
What does this all have to do with this NEC monitor? Everything. This NEC is an incredible monitor for the money. You would be hard pressed to find anything else in the marketplace that can compare to it. In a Consumer Reports review of monitors, they rated Sony, NEC, and Dell the best.
NEC on their web site, have a full suite of drivers, and software downloads available 24/7.
Well enough monitor talk for now. Hope this helps.

Best monitor i have ever had
This is the best monitor i have ever had. My last one was a cheap proview monitor where you could see the masking and the one before that was a cheap little 15 inch monitor. I love this monitor except that when you change resolutions there is a clicking sound. This can be annoying in videogames where people play at different resolutions like in the total war games where the turn based and real time based parts of the game are in different resolutions and everytime the resolution changes there is a clicking sound.

      NEC MULTISYNC75 17" Monitor
If you are looking for an inexpensive monitor with high quality resolution choose this monitor. I bought two of these for our restuarants a year ago and they still perform as if they are new. Durable enough to survive worker abuse, kitchen heat and grease. I was so impressed with this monitor when I needed one for my home recently this is the monitor I selected. So far three of these monitors purchased and zero problems. Go get one.

      Amazing features and brightness
My practice has owned 3 Presentation projectors in the past several years (a Sony, a Viewsonic, and now this NEC VT460). The Sony is still one we use, ... and has 1200 lumens. We like it but its connectors are a bit limited and the remote is a bit finicky. The viewsonic was gotten rid of VERY quickly as it did not interact with the computer and the Viewsonic "service" was terrible. This NEC VT460 is absolutely the nicest inexpensive projector any of us at the practice have every used. Is it the smallest? No. Is it the brightest? No. Does it cost 1/3 as much as the others with its features? YES!... The picture (for SVGA) is as good as the Sony that cost us twice as much. The flexibility of being able to have S-video, component video, computer, and audio input from different sources all at once is wonderful. One of the nicest features is the "Eco" mode that drops the lumens to about equivalent with our 1200 lumen unit, drops the fan noise to almost nothing, and extends the life of the bulb by 2x (so NEC claims). The warranty is top flight at 3 years with "Instacare" 3 day replacement service.

      NEC LCD1760VM
I spent a minor fortune years ago for a NEC LCD1500M -- more than what I spent on my home system -- and have never regretted a cent. Based on that positive experience I naturally gravitated to NEC when looking to replace my hulking 17" office monitor. I did a pretty thorough bit of shopping and kept an open mind to alternatives. But in the end, this beauty won out. There are several reasons for the choice:

      1. Personally, I had a great NEC experience to begin with. I exepected the unit to be well built, the screen quality to be exceptional, the integrated speakers to be up to my needs.
      2. Even if you are not a big gamer or multi-media person, as I am not, the integrated speakers cut down on desk clutter while delivering very nice sound quality.
      3. This unit has both analog and digital inputs so your investment can be stretched over more years, technology changes, and applications.
      4. This is a great looking monitor: minimalist and clean.
      5. It is a very good brand-name value when you compare to what is out there for 17" LCDs.

The display quality has not disappointed. It is exceptionally clear, with rich colors. It's easy to read even in its 1280x1024 resolution. The speakers are getting well exercised with streaming audio and are execllent for what they are (1 watt.)

I had a few hiccups getting started -- mostly self inflcited. I installed their NaViSet software which in theory allows you to control the video settings using an application if you have a DDC/DI capable video card. I don't, but went ahead and installed it anyway. It managed to prevent the Windows driver from running correctly and starting the monitior as a 1760VM. After I uninstalled NaViSet, all was well. The other bit -- which required a call to their 800 help line -- who were wonderful by the way -- was that the instructions for the control buttons that operate the On-Screen Manager (OSM) were one detail short of complete. Pressing the Exit key brings up a tabbed icon. You would like to navigate to the various tabs, and the suggestion is that the arrow keyes <> will do this. However, nothing happens until you press Exit a second time. Then the arrow keys navigate the tabs. Pressing Select puts you into the options within the displayed tabs.

The LCD1760VM comes with a license for LiquidView, which will scale screen objects for better viewing (in theory.) I haven't warmed up to this feature yet, partially because the screen is very readable just as is and I like the large amount of real estate.

I am pleased with my choice and have become even more of a NEC bigot when it comes to LCD monitors.

The best monitor I've ever used!
I'm legally blind, and a college student majoring in Journalism. Which means my desktop computer is virtually my home, and my monitor has to be compatible with many forms of visual enhancement software, as well as being able to work well in 1024x768 settings. Coming off using a terrible monitor that came with my computer, I was finally able to get VocRehab to let me test out the NEC AccuSync 125F, which has to be the best 22" flat screen monitor on the market. Sure, the weight can be an issue (the whole thing weighs 75 pounds and is so bulky it takes two people to move it (or one to carry, one to do some major spotting) . . . but once you get it set up you'll see what I've been seeing now for well over a year.

This monitor has worked wonders with all my high end graphics. I've used it with ZoomText, Kurzweil 3000, and at one point even installed a TV receiver to my desktop, which combined with my DVD drive, made my computer easier on my eyes for TV viewing than my RCA television! With my vision as bad as it is, I'm difficult to please when it comes to finding something that works for everything. But if you need a solid monitor for all purposes, this one is for you.
