Great HDTV Viewing!
This TV is great overall. I am extremely happy with the picture quality when using it under HD. Its absolutely unbeliveable!! The drawback is Time Warner only has about 13 HD channels, everything else is in SD. Under a SD signal the TV is an average performer (which is why I gave it 4 stars & not 5). The picture does get grainy and my $300 TV looks much better than this set! But it is still "bearable".

I did go down to a local electronics store and do a comparision of this set against the leading brands (under HD signal), and i must say it was just as good or even better than some of those 5K+ TV's out there.

Its works great when hooked up to my pc, I did have to go out and get a decent video card with a DVI out. The picture quality is simply great.

Bottom Line: Buy it! But just be prepared to be patient until more 'n more programs get broadcast in HD.

Great experience from start to finish.
This is the nicest and thinest TV I have ever seen, and now owned. The colors are awsome, and everything is very familiar if you have owned a TV in the past, except for how thin this unit is. We bought this to give ourselves more room, and didn't actually realize how much room until the old 32" Tube TV was gone. We got to get rid of the TV stand, and the huge TV and now have a nice small unit that we can hang on the wall. Philips makes awsome product, and we have had a grat experience from Amzon throughout the entire process.

It is a pretty flat monitor. Not a bad choice.
Over in the 19 inch flat monitor category, the consumer is at an disadvantage. It is because of lack of technology and high prices. All 19 inch flat monitors have quality problems. Each product fluctuates (geometry, moire, color, missing dots etc) So you have to hope for the best.

As for this Samsung it used a Mitsubishi NF tube. In the 19inch flat monitor market this can be compared to the Sony trinitron tubes. Mitsubishi tubes have a less prominent damper wires (two wires that go horizontally across the screen that are visible) but Sony trinitron tubes have more flashy colors. In other words this monitor has is less colorful but could be less a distraction. But as I said each monitor is different. It's like a car, you can get a dud from the factory or you might get one that works fine. Over here in Korea they sell this monitor starting from 500$. US residents are lucky since there is so much competion prices have to be low unlike here where Korean companies have a virtual monopoly. It isn't worth 500$ but at low price it should be given some consideration.

Other monitors in the 19inch flat market that are similar are Sony G400, LG 195FT, and a few others. Samsung DF 19 inch flats are not really flat so they are inferior to Samsung NF's. But NF's may not be as focused clearly as DF's at high resolutions. It is best for the consumer to actually "see" the monitors before purchase.

A great monitor!
While the technical details are all available, I can't really describe them for the review. I never thought my monitor was bad until I got the Samsung. It's bright, clear, crisp, sharp... beautiful! The pop-down control system is easy to use as well. Plus, it doesn't take up much more room on my desktop than my old 17" monitor. I noticed no distortion, even at the edges. Overall a great buy!

Beautiful Display Great Monitor
I just received this display and all i can say is WOW.
No dead pixels, beautiful picture at 1280X1024.
Brillant brightness. This is a great monitor at a good price
Only complaint is lack of rotating screen and no height adjustment. The previous 19 in Samsung had these features of course it was more expensive.
Overall a great monitor

Excellent Value
I first saw this monitor at CompUSA but would not consider buying it there because of their 15% re-stocking fee if it had to be returned. I got mine at Circuit City and have no thoughts of returning it. Picture quality is superb. Zero dead pixels. I couldn't be happier with it.

    The LCD for the Minimalist
Remember with buying FLAT LCD monitors, the VIEWABLE space is as advertised, while a 17" CRT (normal) monitor actually only has 15" viewable despite being advertised at 17". I thought 15" would be too small, but it's a lot bigger once you actually use one and sit in front of it.

The words "less is more" couldn't ring truer for this monitor. The very thin frame makes the picture look larger, and as an added bonus, the power supply is built in (no brick) with the signal and power cords neatly stowing away through the hole in the stand. Very low profile, you will be able to use your desk again.

Picture quality is good, and make sure to turn on your "ClearType" in Windows XP. There is very little "ghosting" effect on the screen, and I am able to play games effectively. The only bad part is that the swivel is rigid and a bit hard to adjust, unlike the display on the new table lamp iMacs.

The bottom line is, once you go flat, you won't go back.

The best flat panel I've used!!! Flawless!
The resolution on the samsung 152N is absolutely superb! a sleek design, and user friendly controls make it an excellent buy!

    Good value
This TV works great in a kitchen or bedroom. Cool features like an AV in that can be switched to an AV out so sound can be run through the TV and then out to a stereo system. No problems with brightness even in front of a window. Has component video inputs but this TV does NOT support progressive scan (480p). I know because I tried it. The good news is that it doesn't seem to matter all that much. LC-20E1U has crisp, clean picture quality anyway. Sound quality is more than adequate for average television viewing. Annoying attribute: the stand tilts back at a minimum of about 12 degrees. Big plus: viewing angles, picture quality diminishes minimally (it is nearly unnoticeable) when viewed from an angle.

    Great TV
It fits on a bookshelf - picture and sound are great - easy to set up. It was delivered in less than a week in perfect condition. No complaints.

absolutely fabulous style; not the best price
I have the PS version of this LCD panel (without the stand & speakers). It looks stunning, because it is so light, thin, and stylish. It takes up the least space on the desktop of ANY 15" monitor (CRT or LCD). The analog to digital conversion is rock-solid.

My unit has one pixel that is stuck on. This is common with LCD panels, and is only noticeable with very dark images.

You pay a price for style, however. Sony prices this model higher than most other LCD panels. ... :)

A great LCD monitor, but kind of pricey!
A great LCD monitor, but kind of pricey! For those of you who have a limited desk space, I would highly recommend this monitor cause you can adjust the angle and height, which hardly any other monitor manufacture has this adjustment. You will be questioned by many and few who will ask why anyone would pay [price]for this type of monitor and elsewhere you can get a Samsung 15" 570V TFT LCD Monitor and others!

Just say to them that the Sony monitor is able to be placed in a very tight, small desktop area, where space is extremely limited.

Also, this monitor comes built with stereo speakers to hook up to your sound board. Has bass boost, stereo wide settings, etc.

Would I highly recommend this to you, yes, if your needs are like mine where your desktop space is extremely limited and you want an LCD type of monitor!

    Great 19" Monitor
A great 19" CRT monitor. Sharp, clear image. Have owned approximately 1 year with no problems.

Has Been Working Great for 4 years~
I originally got this monitor because it was just cheap and it was a 19". 4 years later, people'll come to my monitor and say that it's nice.

Some things to nit-pick about would be that it's not flat-panel and it's very heavy. It's a 19" so can't complain.

No regrets at all. If you want to save money, and want a reliable 19", get it!

    Very pleased
Just got this monitor after my 17"'er keeled over and so far, it's great. It's got great resolution and excellent color at every screen setting I've tried. Dot pitch is .27x.25. Adjusting the monitor settings is very simple and intuitive, though getting the screen just right requires a bit of patience if your a perfectionist about it.
Only flaws of this monitor are 1)The name 'Perfectflat' is somewhat of a misnomer. The screen is not perfectly flat, though it is VERY close. 2) The power button requires a bit more push than most (due to the depth of its travel)- a minor gripe, and one that the user will get used to.
Another good thing though, is that the E90 has a nice flat top. -A good place to stick small notebooks and whatever else (that's important if you've ever had the misfortune of dealing with a rounded top monitor)
Overall it's a great monitor. Can't say much about it's lifespan, I've only had it a few days, but Viewsonic typically has three year warranties on their products, so I'm not all that worried. If your looking for a high quality, economical 19"er, this is it. Just make sure you got enough deskspace for it.

    Great Monitor
Great Monitor, I've seen a number in commercial use last a long time. I've got one at home I just love. Typical of Viewsonic Quality.
