Great for pictures -- not great for videos
We bought this camera as an upgrade from our Canon A40. The big feature for us (after the fabulously quick shutter speed) was the ability to take unlimited videos. (Most other cameras limit the video length because they must buffer the image, whereas Sony cameras can write directly to their memory cards.)

However, we've decided to return the camera. There are 3 movie modes. With a 256 MB memory stick (about $100), you get about 3 minutes of video on the best setting. On the medium setting, you get 10 minutes of video. The third setting does give you 2 hours of video, but is completely unusable. The audio is very poor and the image is blurry and pixelated.

We're disappointed that Sony didn't offer a movie mode in between the terrible 160 mode and the Standard 640 mode. A friend's Sony, now over 4 years old, has such an inbetween setting, and we figured this would be an example of the quality of this Cybershot's lowest setting. Not so!

Great camera
This is our first digital camera and so far we love it. It feels very solid and the pictures are really great. The camera is very easy to use for pictures and for video. I have not used any of the different picture settings but I did read the manual and they seem easy to use.
The camera comes with batteries and a charger but no AC adapter. This is the only reason (no AC adapter) I gave the camera 4 stars instead of 5. I would recommend buying the AC adapter so you don't use the batteries too fast or an extra set of batteries so you always have a charged pair of batteries.

Sony Cybershot DSCP73
My husband & I wanted a good digital camera but did not want to spend a bundle. We own other Sony products and know the products are usually high end. We are pleased again with another Sony product. The camera is a little bulky, but the pictures look wonderful and the capability is amazing. More than enough to keep us non-techies amazed!

Ok¿I think
This is my first flat screen monitor. I'm not super-happy with it, but I don't have any basis for comparison. When I took it out of the box and plugged it in, it worked fine, except it's blurry. I get the feeling that I have about 20/40 vision when I look at the screen. I checked the manual to see if there was an adjustment to make the image sharp or put the image in focus, and the problem was not mentioned in the manual. I searched the Web and found a few comments about flat screen monitors being out of focus, and that it requires some specialist technical skills to get the correct settings so that the image is sharp. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any more specific information about which settings to change or where, and so I've had to resign myself to the blur. For that reason, I wouldn't recommend this model of flat screen monitor to anyone but an expert who knows how to get the correct settings to make the monitor work properly. On the other hand, it is nice having the extra desk space and the speakers that are built into the monitor. So far, I have one dead pixel in the middle of the screen, but other than that and the blurriness problem, the monitor seems to function well enough.

Monnitor looks great
It's the brightest screen I have seen. The angels are amazing. When I have friends come over they can see my screen at almost any angles. They have all commented on it. And the 16ms is awesome. Games look great on it. Only problem is the resolution needs to be really high or things might turn blurry. However that's the same with all lcd screens and their native resolutions. I need a better video card now.:)

good spec, reasonable price
Benq FP767 has the best performance/cost ratio: with 500:1 contrast and 260 cd/m2, other LCD panels just look pale and dark sitting beside FP767.

Convinient one-touch adjustment.

Dell, Compaq, and Retail
I use to use this 19" monitor at 1280x1024 but it started to get way too blurry so I scaled down to 1024x768. The monitor isn't very bright. The monitor at work is amazingly crisp to where I can easily read text at 1280x1024 with the Compaq's 17" monitor. I'm now rebuilding my home system using all retail components (retail components, not system). I'm saving a lot of money and I can kiss dell drivers and OEM hardware problems goodbye. The dirty secret is that OEM means that it didn't pass quality tests to be retail.

Larger Than Life
I have thoroughly enjoyed my 19" Dell Color Monitor due to the great resolution and "larger than life" screen.

DELL P992 Monitor
I have been using this monitor at 1024 x 768 resolution and have found picture quality to be sharp and very detailed. I am really impressed with photos taken using my FUJI S602ZOOM using the Finepix Viewer as a slideshow.

This CRT monitor is a bargain as they are becoming less popular due to Dell's 19" FP TFTs. I have been given to understand that text can be 'fuzzy' on the TFTs and can honestly say I have never experienced any 'fuzzyness' with this superb CRT.

Image is stable and sharp.....a quality product from DELL.

I will wait for a while when TFTs become cheaper and DELL have ironed out the 'fuzzy' problem with text.

monitor has flickering lines through it
I got this monitor for Christmas and it has lines running throught and real faint color changes. When you move the cursor or look closely you can see flickering lines throughout the display. My wife got this from Circuit City so I'll be taking it back when it opens. I tried all of the settings, installed the driver, etc. and no help. It only got worse the longer it was on. I am taking the computer to my brother's to see if his monitor works on it. Hopefully its the monitor and not the computer. It looked nice coming out of the box until I turned it on.

Outstanding!!
This Monitor is Outstanding!! I really love it! Got it in a Computer Package from "Best Buy". Saves room on desk, very bright, great for Photo Editing! Will never own another CRT Monitor. Get this, you won't be sorry!!

Terrific Monitor
Got the f1503 bundled with our Christmas computer. Super mobility, great clarity. No problems with display as stated by previous reviewer. A great space saver, while at the same time a stylish and high quality product.

Good choice for price conscious shopper
I bought this monitor in July 2000 and have now owned it for 3 days. The monitor is compact and relatively lightweight (31 pounds). The image quality seems comparable to the much more expensive 21-inch monitor I have at work. If you don't want to spend much money for a monitor, this seems like a logical choice. In general, NEC is a reputable brand while if you find something any cheaper, you are probably sacrificing manufacturer quality.

Good value
I bought this monitor to replace my aging Acer 15" monitor. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a new monitor because I plan to buy a new system in a few months. The NEC is much nicer than my old monitor, with sharp detail and vivid colors. The viewing area is small but I can live with it. I took it out of the box, plugged it into the PC and a power outlet, and here I am.

Great buy!
After seeing this monitor in a set-up ... , I decided it was just what I was shopping for. But....the store did not carry NEC. I went to three other stores here in town and could not find a 15-inch NEC - all were 17's. That was Monday, July 17. I came home and ordered from Amazon. The monitor was delivered by standard shipping this morning - July 19! It is all I expected and then some. If you are looking for a 15-inch monitor at a bargain price, this may be your best bet.

Look¿s good but poor TV resolution
I bought this TV about five days ago. I was the highest cost unit in the store so I expected video quality at least as good as my old Sony TV. However the picture is fuzzy with high degrees of pixalization. For small graphics the pixalization causes actual "sparkling". After watching the history channel where they place small graphic on the lower right hand corner throughout the program I noticed that I was drawn to the graphic more than the actual show. I am going to get a 4:3 model or wait for the new generation of LCD with 3:2 drop-down and better conversion circuitry.

CATV says "WOW!"
The compact size of this TV allows it to fit comfortably on the top shelf of a bookshelf. The picture is as clear as one can get without investing a whole lot more. When the Time-Warner CATV people have come to the premises, they have given it a "WOW!" rating.

a little too blue
some seans come out too blue but most of the time it is great. when I saw it in the stores it had animations on it not live action so it was harder to tell how good the pict realy was, but very nice pict great for the places you don't have room most tvs.the speaker space for the speakers on the sides is too wide.
The speakers cabnets themselves could have been narrower, the cabnet the speakers are in are twice as wide as the actual speakers.
I wish it was in black, since my purchase I have seen it refurbished in black, but no brand new in black. wish it didn,t cost more than a big screen.

pricey but I found a cheaper alternative
Well If you are like me, I am on a budget at this point in my life. So much so that I am literally saving the change I find to buy my next monitor. Well I have not acheived my goal but am half way there right now. Well like many others I have also scoured the net for the cheapest price to this wonderful monitor. You wonder why I gave it a 4 without even buying it, well I own 3 Sony monitors(2 TV and other) and they are all flat CRT, plus I have never in my 27 years of existence ran into a problem with any Sony monitor. They are a very functional company with the end use in mind. Anyway back to the price story. After scouring the web, I ran across a sight that you can get it for around $585 with free shipping. That's right F>R>E>E> shipping, but it is ground only though, I am sure that you can upgrade to some other type. Anyway the sight is newegg dot com. Hope this helps.....

Not quite an Eizo but awsome for the price
This monitor is an outstanding VALUE. Sure, there are monitors with tons of adjustments... but you'll pay a price for it. This monitor has an excellent image quality right out of the box.

I was torn between giving it a 5 star rating for being such an awesome VALUE, and a 4 star rating for it's lack of features.

Nice Looking CRT
I recently went shopping for a 21" monitor to replace my aging ViewSonic 17GA and settled on the Sony G520P. I figured I couldn't really go wrong with a Sony Trinitron. For the most part, Sony has lived up to its reputation, but the G520P isn't without a few small faults.

The first thing you'll notice about the G520P is the two tone silver and gray cabinet. It's probably the most attractive design on the market - certainly an improvement over the original G520.

As far as features go, the G520P is lacking a USB hub and BNC connectors. You'll have to go to the more expensive GDM-F520 model if you require either of these amenities. On the other hand, it does offer dual HD15 inputs, which might be nice if you wanted to hook up two machines at the same time.

Image quality is reasonably good. I found the G520P to be exceptionally bright and colourful, which is great for games and DVDs. Small text was a little on the blurry side, though this could potentially be attributed to my nVidia video card, which isn't really known for its 2d image quality. The monitor can reach resolutions as high as 2048x1536, but I found that 1280x1024 was the most comfortable for my eyes.

The on screen controls aren't bad, but navigation is made awkward by Sony's "Display Mouse". It's nothing more than a button that you push up or down to cycle through the various settings. The difficult part is that you have to push it inwards to activate your selection. It's not a terrible design, but I've certainly seen better.

Overall, I'm fairly happy with the Sony G520P. If you're interested in purchasing a 21" monitor, it's certainly worth a look. I would also recommend checking out some of the Diamondtron monitors - particularly the Mitsubishi 2060u and the Samsung Syncmaster 1200NF.

I hope this has been helpful!

Picture tube has a problem
My personal experience:
I bought the Samsung SyncMaster 700NF monitor as it had excellent display resolution and I liked it.
The problem:
The display just goes blank, with the picture tube just not working. The LED on the front goes from solid green to blinking yellow.

I have taken this very heavy 40+ lbs monitor back an forth to the Samsung service center 4 times now and this problem has not been fixed, they even gave me a different monitor and this problem still exists. Not a good experience for me. Maybe I got lemons :(

A really good monitor
I have had the Samsung SyncMaster700NF for 3 weeks. Quite good one, sharp and accurate color, easy to tune, reasonable price.I bought this model after comparing with other brands (NEC,Viewsonic,Sony),I should say that Sony is the best ,but it does not worth that much, about 50 percent higher price.
The only shortcoming with 700NF is that there are two very thin horizontal lines on the screen it is said normal from the user manul, but they make me uncomfortable.

Best 17" monitor on the market
I spent several weeks looking at every 17" monitor I could find in my local electronics chains stores, comparing MAG's, Viewsonics, Phillips, Sonys, NEC's, and a variety of cheaper brands. I have also used Dell, Compaq and Gateway house brand monitors in the past. This Samsung blows them all away in every category. It has the brightest, most vivid and most accurate colors of any monitor I have seen. Its text and other detailed displays are razor sharp and exceptionally readable and easy on the eyes. The screen has a very effective anti-reflective coating; the only minor criticism I have of this monitor is that the anti-glare coating makes the screen a bit difficult to clean. The electronic controls on the pull down control box are easy to use. This monitor is not only a premium performer, but has a reasonable price. You can buy monitors that are more or less expensive than this Samsung, but you can't buy one that has a better display or is a better value. I am more satisfied with this purchase than virtually any other (of several dozen) items of computer or electronic gear I have purchased in the past ten years.

ok monitor
I've owned this monitor since it first came out. The only problem is the it scratches very easily, just when using the recommended soft cloth and glass cleaner. I don't know if Samsung has corrected this issue or not, but please check and see. You don't want to be stuck with scratches on your monitor like me.

Thank You AMAZON.COM!
First, I must thank Amazon.com. I couldn't believe I just found it on Amazon. - No joke, I had checked more than 50 sites to look for 900IFT 19" monitor. Nobody had it. (...)

Anyway, 900IFT gives me more clear and balanced ranges of colors than my old GDM F500. On 900IFT, bright and white color balance with flater screen is outstanding. I was used vivid and yellowish tones with F500 for 3 years, so first few hours were uncomfortible with 900IFT. F500 produces sharper text than 900IFT but 900IFT "ROCKS" on 3D images in games.
I thought AG could only draw quality pictures until I found 900IFT. I was worng.
Again, Thanks Amazon.

SyncMaster 900IFT
I have been very pleased with this monitor. The high refresh rate seems to offer very little flicker, and the big screen is great.

So far, there have been no reliability problems with this unit, and it is used daily, and never turned off -- just in sleep mode. I purchased the extended warranty through Best Buy, not noting that the unit came with a three year manufacturers warranty. Perhaps, the earlier reviewers experience with Samsung's service makes that investment a good one.

Mislabeled - Max resolution 1280x1024 not 1600x1200
According to Sony's spec for the LCD. The max resolution is only 1280x1024. Not sure where these guys got their numbers from. Office Depot doesn't even list this on their site.

A Very Nice Monitor
First, because I needed a monitor NOW, I ended up buying this monitor locally and paying about ... more for it than if I had bought it from Amazon (after shipping, rebates, and taxes).

Second, this is a very nice monitor. I'm hooked up via the DVI connection, so that might make a difference if you use the standard monitor connection. Pictures on the monitor are absolutely beautiful. Things like video clips and DVD playbacks look just fine (I've still done very few of those). Text, on the other hand, looks somewhat grainy (it varies from screen to screen), though it's still quite acceptable. I think this is actually a function of the dot-pitch for the monitor being larger than what my old CRT's was. This graininess can be mitigated by loading Microsoft's Clear Type in Windows XP and using the tuning utility. Also, make sure you adjust the Contrast and Brightness (turn the Contrast all the way up and then turn the Brightness down until blacks actually appear black (with Contrast at 100, my Brightness is at 25)). The display area of this monitor is actually somewhat bigger than what was displayed on my old 19" CRT (though the rated 18.1" is theoretically the same). So, if you want, you could also increase your font size for better viewing.

One other thing. The monitor is back-lit and comes set to 100% illumination. Unless you're looking at this thing in a highly lit room, you can probably turn this off entirely (use the "ECO" button on the bottom of the column of control buttons). At a minimum, you can definitely turn the backlighting down to, say, 70% (probably more).

One thing I do wish the monitor had is some type of swivel feature. You can tilt the angle of the display to your heart's content. But, there's no way to turn it from landscape to portrait mode. Also, and I should have thought of this before I bought it, there's no place to put the center speaker in a 5.1 speaker setup. With my old CRT, I just rested the speaker on top. Since there's essentially no depth to this monitor, that's impossible. On the bright side, there's plenty of room behind the monitor for that same speaker. :)

One final note: The "Utility" CD that comes with the monitor is totally useless. All it has on it is a DOS, Windows, and Mac version of a test screen. It doesn't even come with a monitor INF file. When I plugged the monitor in via the DVI port under XP, Windows changed over to a standard LCD screen driver (everything worked fine, it's just not fully accurate). You'll definitely need to go to Sony's web site and download the proper INF file.

Awesome monitor.
