Good Camcorder - Could have gotten bang more for my buck! However, all-in-all the camcorder is excellent. But I do recommend you buy a back-up battery or stay close to an outlet because the battery barely makes the full 2 hours it claims it has. We thought we'd be able to shoot basketball games, but it barely makes through the first half on 1 batterty. If you can get a good deal on it go ahead and get it!
Buy a less expensive model for same results.
Nice, easy to use Video cameraGood photos, great zoom. Bought several filters and both a wide angle and telephoto lens to add to it. A must for this camera is a polarizer lens filter. Really brings out colors and reduces glare from water...... Simple to drop the small cassette into the vcr adapter to plug and play them immediately, or just hook it up directly to the TV to view. I also like the remote that comes with the unit. WARNING........GET EXTRA BATTERIES, AND A CHARGER. It eats power like peanuts.
This was my first video camera purchase. I am happy with what I got.....Not too complicated, but has features for me to grow into. It is not digital, but it also doesnt have a digital price either.

- EDTV resolution accepts 480p progressive-scan signals (with 3:2 pulldown frame-rate correction) from DVD players and satellite receivers
- Side-panel AV hookups allow easy connection with a camcorder, gaming console, or other device
- Velocity-scan modulation improves the definition at picture edges
- 7.5 watts per channel with side-mounted stereo speakers; includes audio equalization presets

Great Picture - IF, if you get one that worksBought the unit, took it home and hooked-up only to find the unit I bought wasn't firing "RED" so everthing was green blue or purple. Samsung, promptly on a Sat. afternoon picked up my call without virtually any wait time. After reviewing a few items, I was told to return the unit to where I had just purchased it from.
Returned it for exchange (without any hassle)and brought home the replacement unit.
Hooked it up to find that the colors were great BUT this time all for corners had color effects.. In terms of a computer monitor it could be said that the tube needed degaussing.... ON white background the corners showed green. On red/brown backgrounds the color would be purple instead.
Once again, called Samsung support (7:20 in the evening) and propmtly told me to unplug the TV, wait 30-45 seconds then plug in the tv once again.
Have done this procedure 3 times thus far with varying results, but the picture isn't right... They are sending out a repair to my home to review... Tech Support person I talked to said that he's never spoke to someone before that experienced the problem.
My response (and concern) is: What's the odds that I receive not one but two, defective TV's??? Maybe this reflects either your quality control, or just your quality????
You decide... But I still must admit that when it works, the picture is GOOD!!!! Maybe by the 3 or 13th set I'll get one...????
YES! degaussing your picture tube is the answer:
Good EDTV, some problemsNow some not so great points about this TV. First, the newer models cannot be modified to accept HDTV signals (1080i), if this doesn't make sense then just ignore it. Second, there are some issues with blooming, that is if you watch a crawl across the screen (e.g. bottom of CNN or ESPN) you can see that it gets higher in the middle of the screen. Lastly, the remote control is very big and a little confusing. For example, to switch to component input you need to press a button that's underneath a sliding piece of plastic. Plus, there are buttons on the remote that only work with other samsung TVs.
Overall this is a good TV, especially thanks to its progressive scan. When viewed next to regular TVs in a store you can really appreciate this advangate. Just don't expect to be getting the same quality image you would with a real HDTV (which, of course, will cost you a lot more).

Poor quality monitor - inconsistent distortion
Bright, large display! That said, a number of reviewers commented that the Viewsonic seems great on graphics (which it is) and only mediocre on text. When I brought this monitor home, I was initially disappointed. I run at 1024 x 768. Much of my work is text only. Text on the edges seemed a little fuzzy and the text below Window's icons was not very clear. I was considering returning the monitor when I began playing with the menus and found that the factory default for contrast is 100%. Once I turned this down to the lower 90s, the text quality improved dramatically. Now I am very impressed with the monitor. When I looked at the Sony 540, which is in the same price range, the colors looked faded. Not so for the Viewsonic. This is a vibrant monitor. It also has a lot of controls, including focus, which the Sony 540 lacks.
For those reviewers concerned by the aperture grill lines, you obviously have only had shadow mask monitors in the past. My last monitor was a Dell 21 inch shadow mask. These are perhaps a little bit better on text, but they lag behind in graphics and color display. ALL aperture grill monitors have faint lines. You can't blame Viewsonic for this anymore than Sony or others using this higher end construction. The lines are really a moot point if you want the better color display that aperture grill affords.
I recommend this monitor for those wanting a large 22" screen without paying the $800 - $1000 for the P225f.
the lines are normal
I will not buy another KDS.
