Blurry
Even though the manufacturer, a chemical company based in South korea, claims 28mm dog pitch, it's very blurry. The colours are washed out, and the contrast is poor... For better price, go with Kogi...

LG Monitor
I received this monitor from my sons for Christmas. The picture quality is awesome. It's great having a full vision screen. If you adjust it properly, the quality is lifelike and the colors are bright and vivid. I highly recommend it.

Awesome
I bought this monitor several months ago, and I work in Photoshop and print high-quality photos, and this monitor represents what I print very accurately as well, it is just beautiful to look at. LG makes the best LCD's no question about it.

Too picky
While the thing works, it's very particular about placement of the cuff--get it too high or too low or turn it a little too far in either direction and it doesn't get a reading. This morning I had to adjust the cuff position 3 times before it finally gave me a reading--by that time any reading it gave on that arm would be questionable anyway--it's more hassle than a device using a manual stethoscope would be. I'm looking for a replacement that works better.

OTOH, its durable--I've had it for three years now and it still works as well (or poorly) as it ever did.

Dependable
This is the only monitor that I have owned that lasted more thatn five years. Unfortunately, I now need another. I switched to a more expensive brand that was worthless, because it wouldn't give any kind of reading you could believe. I'm buying another Lumiscope.

Easy To Use
I found the Lumiscope 1085M easy to use and pretty accurate. It was only 1 or 2 digits off of the readings I received at my doctors office. The directions were easy to follow, and it has a long battery life. I would reccomend it to others.

Very Disappointed!
Purchased this radio and set it up by the manual. This radio will NOT operate with AC power alone. It also requires 3 AA batteries to operate the digital readout. Within the first 3-4 days the batteries were drained dead and unit would not operate.
I changed to new batteries and again in about 3-4 days, thoses batteries were dead. I replaced with the 3 set of batteries and once again, about 3-4 days they were dead again. The radio was set on "Alert Only" so, therefore would not constantly play, only when receiving a weather bulletin. Only once during my 2 week ownership did the unit alert, and that was during a weekly test from NOA radio. This unit was absolutely terrible. Thank goodness for the good people at Amazon, I was able to return this crap back at no cost to me, and a full refund. I strongly suggest that you look at another specific brand besides a battery eating monster like this one was. Very Disappointed in this brand.

Great product
I disagree with one of the other reviews posted here. The WR-100 does not need batteries to operate and functions extremely well if programed with the correct SAME codes. . Our radio was extremely easy to program and was operable within 5 minutes of opening the box. Make sure you refer to the instructions and acquire the SAME County codes via the NOAA website: www.nws.noaa.gov/nwr/indexnw.htm

I highly recommend this model to anyone who might live in a dangerous weather region, I live in the heart of tornado alley.

This is a great product which has not failed my family yet. Please make sure you check into the products you need.

A good buy
I recently purchased the Midland WR100 for my mother-in-law's home. I own the Midland 74-200 radio and it has worked well. The WR100 is much easier to program than the 74-200. The manual is much easier to read than the somewhat cryptic 74-200 manual. Either radio is a great choice. Features are similar for each. The main difference is the LCD display. The WR100 faces the top (parallel to the ground), while the 74-200 faces the front (perpendicular to the ground.) This may be an issue in regards to placement.

Directly from an Amazon Service Rep. . .
I purchased this product only to discover it was plagued with technical problems (i.e. constant clicking and loud popping noises emanating from the monitor while in standby, large horizontal stripes running through the entire screen; even while disconnected from a computer). I was then sent a replacement with different problems (same clicking, multiple LCDs defective).

I was then told the following from Amazon:

"I am sorry that your replacement shipment was also problematic.

As it seems that the problem with this item is more widespread than we originally thought, I hesitate to send you another replacement. We will investigate and remedy the situation with the item; however, I cannot guarantee when the error may be fixed.

We will gladly refund you in full for the return of this item." (ironically, you can still purchase this item)

While this monitor has excellent image quality and includes a DVI input, its reliability is a grim issue. I would hesitate following the urge to purchase this product for its cheap price.

Great Value
I just purchased the Mitsu NXM76LCD from Surplus Max, and I am very satisfied with this LCD. At 400.00 this is truely a great buy. We have played some games on this monitor and there is absolutely no problems. The monitor has a great response time. We are using the d-sub connection. This LCD also has a digital hook up as well.
The only draw back is the 1 year warantee, which you can buy from NEC.

Excellent 17" LCD
The DiamondPoint series of LCDs are sold under the Mitsubishi brand primarily to corporate users. We have one here in the office and compared to my office NEC MultiSync LCD1760V, it looks and feels substantially more solid. The image quality is excellent, and it's also in the same stylish black thin-frame enclosure as the LCD1760V. Pure plug-n-play, the NXM76LCD-BK gives you a full 17 inches in diagonal viewable area (13.3" x 10.6"). The max resolution is 1280x1024.

In the end, I think the two LCDs are pretty much identical and both excellent. Just pick the one that's cheaper.

Philips 109 B4
This monitor [stinks]!!! I first bought one but I exchange it because it had 3 black pixels. The next one had 4!!! The next one had only 2 but in the lower corners the image was distorted. As a design it looks great but I all 19`` Philips monitor have this problem (black pixels). So if U want a 19`` monitor DON`T BUY PHILIPS!...

Wonderful replacement for a 17"
Bought this monitor as a replacement for a KIA 17" Sony Trinitron. Picture is wonderfully sharp, and even at half brightness is sometimes still a little too bright. The footprint isn't so bad either, actually fits right where my 17"er used to be (didn't have to clean my desk at all :). And the on screen controls are as complete as any I've seen: Language, Zoom, Hor/Ver, Shape, and Color adjustments, and a section of "Extra Controls" that give info like serial number, and Refresh Rate....

Reliable and built to last!
This monitor is great if you want to upgrade to a 19". It is a space saver too - it takes up less depth than my old 17" monitor did. It is high resolution and the price is right too.

Great monitor / Extremely poor customer service
This is monitor has one of the sharpest displays I have seen on a 17" monitor. Very sharp at 1600x1280 resolution and higher. The warranty sounds good too, free on-site replacment within 24 hours during the first year. DON'T BELIEVE IT. It has been 9 days and still waiting. Couldn't wait any longer so had to purchase a new monitor from a competitor. Last Philips product I will be purchasing.

An Excellent Value (at the time I bought it)
This is a wonderful high performance monitor. However, as flat panel displays grow in popularity, prices for CRT monitors are dropping tremendously. If you don't mind buying a CRT and are looking for high resolution to run serious applications, I would recommend looking at some larger monitors than this. For most applications running at high resolutions, 17" just isn't a big enough screen to run on. On the other hand, if you are planning on running 3D games, have a high performance video card, and don't want to shell out too much cash, this monitor is a perfect fit for you. This monitor can keep pace with the best 3D cards out there. The only gripe I have with this monitor are two nearly invisible narrow horizontal gray stripes that run across the screen 1/4 and 3/4 the way up. They're really only visible when looking at an entirely white screen, so generally they are not an issue. Otherwise I am very pleased with this monitor. The picture is extremely crisp and clear, and also displays DVD's beautifully.

Affordable!
I am a student and was looking to upgrade from an old 14". This one is affordable and a name brand. Amazon had a great review of the product and gave a lot of good information. Better than what I would have got in the store. Once I got the monitor, I had a little problem hooking it up but I got great help from Philips customer service. I am amazed at what a difference it makes! If you still have a 14 or 15 inch monitor - go ahead and upgrade, it is well worth the money.

Bad fuzzy monitor
Buyer beware! This monitor is rated .26x dot pitch, but believe me, it is not! Check the tech specs at numerous retail websites,
and check them at proview's site. They're all different.
If you buy it, you'll have to call proview's rude tech support to install a driver!

fine monitor
I have had this monitor for two months. It has worked perfect since set up, which was done by a professional. The screen stays bright even if I am off center 15 to 20 degrees. The sharpness for reading text is quite adequate. Compared to my IBM 15" flat screen, it is not quite as sharp, but much brighter and colors are much richer. The white is much whiter making color photos much more exciting. I would say good value for the dollar. Nice looking too.

Proview 17" flat screen review
Wow! I love this monitor and speaker combination. I was considering the purchase of a regular 17" monitor, but as the prices have been reduced so much on the flat screens decided to get this gem. I did lots of research on the net on both price and availability and found this to be the best bang for the buck. The screen is fantastic and the controls work easily. The only problem I noticed on startup was the quivering which had to be easily adjusted from the menu. The sleek silver color is a plus too.

Overall fuzziness ruins an otherwise good monitor.
I decided to purchase this monitor after owning the 17" version (which I would give 5 stars). The 17" was clear, sharp and has a nice cabinet design. I was expecting the 21" to simply be a larger version of the 17", well I was wrong. They are identical in all ways except for one major flaw. The main complaint is an overall fuzziness. This is especially noticeable with text. I tried everything, different video card, playing with every adjustment, different refresh rates and resolutions, moving the monitor to different locations in the house, running from my laptop, and NEC tech support. Nothing helped. As I write this review I am on the third monitor from NEC. I sent the other two back to NEC because I had hoped it was a problem with the monitor. I can say that NEC tech support was responsive and agreed to pay shipping both ways, twice. Unfortunately I must concede that the fuzzy text is an inherent attribute of this monitor(at least the three I have used).

Get one before CRTs are gone
I usually prefer CRTs over LCDs because I don't like being locked into one native resolution. LCD kinda turn me off because they look so mushy in non native resolution and thier colors are not accurate so I did some research and got the FE2111SB. I usually prefer Sony but they want 1700 for thier 20" so this is my first NEC monitor. Physically this monitor is somewhat deep but not as heavy as I thought it would be. The model I recieved was cream colored with a silver face plate and looks terrific. The screen is almost horizontally flat only about a 1 milimeter taper toward the edges and is vertically flat. The picture is pretty sweet at 1600x1200, and not bad on sharpness. It takes some time to get the convergence correct from the extreme corner to the opposite corner but the unit required some compromise to get the sharpest picture overall. The edges are just slightly fuzzy around an 3/4 of an inch from the corners at 1600x1200 but no big deal just slightly. I backed off to 1280x1024 @ 85 Hz and the picture is sharper all around. Another little detail is the contrast control, it just doesn't go far enough text look greyish on white. However most graphics cards let you adjust the signal with software so pratically this is no issue. I was amazed at how straight the picture was with no horizontal wavering distorting vertical lines. Colors look rich and deep and the monitor adjustments remember the settings in each resolution. The software really helps you adjust the monitor quickly and provides some test patters for you but you need to download this from the web site. The weakness of this monitor is the horizontal convergence the strong point would be its straight and colorful picture. Screen real estate is impressive per dollar and overall its a good value for under $600. All in all I would recommend this monitor to anyone that doesn't mind a big foot print on thier desk.

I have a pair of these monitors and they're crisp.
Owned a pair of the fe2111sb monitors since Oct 2002 and am quite pleased with thier performance, consistency and clarity. I use them side by side and haven't a complaint.

Buyer Beware
Being one of the most expensive 21-22 inch CRT monitors on the market, and from a highly respected source (NEC-Mitsubishi) I expected a better than average product. What I got...

Monitor #1: "Damaged CRT" according to NEC tech-support. The CRT had 2 large dark areas on either side of center (4" x 8"), with an especially bright diagonal area in the middle (3" x 7").

Monitor #2: "Damaged CRT" according to NEC tech-support. This CRT has the same 2 large dark areas on either side of center, and the bright diagonal area in the middle, and they are worse than the first monitor. This monitor also "flashes" the entire screen every so often (sigh).

Not sure if I will try for a third monitor, try another model, or another brand.

Great monitor
I am using this monitor with the DVI input to one PC and the analog input to a laptop. The positives: large screen, easy to use controls, and sharp picture. The negatives: My USB mouse died a few times when plugged into the back of the PC. I am not 100% sure that this is the PC though-still trying to figure this one out. The biggest negative of this monitor is that the screen is not totally flat. They say it's flat - but not totally. I sit pretty close to the screen so I am probably more aware of this. Very slight curvature. Maybe it is impossible to make a screen so big totally flat? Still - I am not sure what a better CRT monitor would be - Sony's big boys cost much more and there is no where to check them out. Sony's flagship store in Chicago (5 stories high) does not even show CRTs anymore. I would still buy this monitor again.

Outstanding display, outstanding manufacturer
I had an NEC FP1350X which offered amazing image quality, but began to fail on me while still within warrantee. NEC replaced it at no cost, *and* upgraded me to the FP1375X I have now. Great customer service.

The image quality is the best I have seen in 15 years of work in graphics and imaging. My only gripe is that the USB ports and the display ports on the back could be better positioned. By the way, the display has ports for both analog and digital connections from your computer.

With respect to the negative comment from another reviewer, the one comment I would offer is that displays of this size need care, especially when being moved. My original monitor, for example, was probably damaged (very subtly) in the course of delivery. And these large monitors generate a lot of heat, so minor damage can be aggravated with use.

The other monitors in this class are from Phillips and Sony.

Not Really a Monitor!
Stereo TV/Monitor HUH. Where's the VGA connector? or the DVI connector? Sorry...not really a monitor,,,Just a TV!

Mis informed!
Apprently this individual from TN, has no idea between the difference of a regular television and PC Monitor. First of all, nowhere in the add does it describe the unit as a TV/Monitor! combination, who ever wrote this review, needs to read the advertisement a little closer.

It's an awesome tv!
