Monitor is decent for the money (I purchased it to use for my internet PC) but don't count on ever getting your rebate.

I purchased this monitor at Best Buy in June of 2002 along with two CPU's and a number of peripherals, including a Samsung CD-RW. All of the products had mail-in rebates. I was careful to comply with the terms of the rebate (copy of receipt, UPC and
postmark dates). I've received all of my rebates (12 total) except three, all of which were from Samsung products.

I contacted the company that handles the Samsung rebates and they told me that I had incorrect serial numbers and/or shipping labels instead of the UPC labels, which was not correct.

I will not be purchasing any Samsung product in the future.

1280 x 1024, .20 dot pitch, perfectly flat screen. I'm very happy with this monitor.

There is no rebate involved in this purchase.

The SAMTRON 78DF is perfectly flat monitor. Not an alleged flat screen with a slight curvature that not only distorts the facts, but distorts your picture as well. This is true flatness designed by engineers who believe in true precision.
DynaFlat technology has no visible curvature when viewed from any angle. It has super pigment phosphors of uniform particle size which project a broader spectrum of color concentration, allow less glare and increase contrast.

I bought this unit two and half years ago. Like it a lot until it crashed after only two and half years of moderate use. I had to pay 300 dollars to have it fixed. Not happy about that.

While brousing about the store, the first look at sony KV 32FV 27
was my seeing. Looking over the picture and reading all it's functions, was my believing.

When I first saw a flat screen sony wega tv I knew I had to have one. Well I bought this exact model and a little less than a year later I am still extremely happy with it! First of all I would make sure you get the side speakers featured on this tv instead of the bottom speakers on the cheaper model. They make a huge difference with the sound quality. Overall the sound and picture quality are excellent. Features both component and svideo for DVD hookups. The one great feature I feel doesn't get enough attention is the quick scroll button on the remote. Press it down a quickly and easily scroll through your favorite pre-programmed channels without losing your current select, or just simply us the PIP. The only turn off about this tv is the incredible weight behind it. Plan on bringing a friend when moving this tv in the house... It is heavy! Overall a great buy. Get it together with a great DVD player and a theatre system and prepare to be spending a lot of time in front of the tube! Enjoy.

This is one of the worst monitors I've ever encountered. It is very blurry. It turned itself off then reappeared with the most horrible blurry screen I've ever seen! I rebooted my machine and it returned to normal.....only to do it again 20 minutes later!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS MONITOR! I am a computer professional....I have seen many monitors...this is by far the WORST.ALSO take not its not flat at all...Viewsonice put a flat piece of glass in front of the CURVED tube to FOOL you!

the screen is crisp and clear dvds,internet everything looks so alive with vibrant colors the monitor is excellent for the price.

Viewsonic has delivered a TOP-Notch 17 inch monitor that blows away the competition in price/performance with it's perfectly flat 17 inch screen!

I was looking high and low for a good addition to the Sony Computer I recently bought and I keep coming back to Viewsonic based on recommendations of my co-workers and friends who have Viewsonics and from recommendations in articles. The 17 inch tube is PERFECTLTY flat which is great for webpages and gaming alike. The picture is crystal clear and the colors are vibrant.

I was considering the 'Multimedia' Viewsonic with built-in speakers but if you have good speakers you might want to save your money and get this non-multimedia version. I have heard the speakers on my friend's Multimedia monitor but I thought my speakers were just as good if not better. It's a personal choice. You can always do better with stand alone speakers and a good sub-woofer (a must for gaming).

Setup was a piece of cake and they delivered this thing FAST.

When you open this box you see the quality. It is built to outlast the computer, that's for sure. And at around 37 or 40 pounds it is EASY to lift. Weight is something I was concerned about too. Also you will find that the depth of the monitor is not much greater than a 15 inch monitor. This 17 inch monitor easily fits on my small work area easily with room to spare!

The 25 mm dot pitch gives me a clear view of my work. I fell in love with Gateways VX series monitors which are great. But this Viewsonic E70f is right up there in quality and performance with high-end monitors. And the warranty tells me Viewsonic believes in this monitor's quality. Viewsonic would not have a 3 year warranty if they were darn sure it would last alot longer than 3 years!

I expected to wait a week or more but they delivered in about 3 days! Buy one you will love it!

I bought this monitor because it was a top of the line model. Worked great, for only 2 years. All of the sudden, the lights went out and nobody's home. Not my card, or a cable , the clunky thing had some kinda bulb blow b/c the green light is on with NO picture. Only 2 years old and not under warranty. Also tried to get some help from customer svc. They said it was under warranty, then it wasn't and then directed me to a phone number to call for an authdealer. Phone number was a phone tree to no where. So, will I buy a Viewsonic product again? Hello no...

I had this monitor for 3 years now and have not had a single problem with it. It plays games well, has good picture quality (not ultra sharp or ultra bright though), and does a good job of displaying CAD applications. I never had a problem with Viewsonic and have faith in their products. Also do not be fooled by negative reviews. After all it is usually the people who have a problem with a product that have the urge to complain and bad-mouth it.

I purchased the ViewSonic E90fb and was very pleased with the monitor. The picture started to get narrow and the horzintal width was finally set at 100%. I called the company explained my problem and they sent me a new monitor and I shipped the bad one back. No hasseles and they paid for shipping both ways. Great product and great service

I ordered this on Apr 1, Amazon listed 1-2 weeks delivery. On Apr 20, I asked for status, they say it will ship Apr 21. Then Apr 21 I got an email, it will ship July 14 or something like that due to delay. Amazon should not hold orders that is 3 months delay. I waited a month now with no LCD.

First thing I did when setting this up in our demo lab was to say wow! It has very good features as well as a crystal clear picture. Setting up is easy. The colors are brilliant. I only wish I could afford this for home use. Go to the cnet.com to read about other LCD monitors available, if you like me, can't afford to buy this monitor for home use and still want one. Over all I was very pleased and I highly recommend it.

So far, after having experienced a Cornea flat screen a couple of months ago, I have to say that you truly get what you pay for. This one, by Viewsonic, sure is not unexpensive, but it delivers a huge, crisp, rich picture that I just love! It is also very stable, so it takes a good push to move it by "accident". I have it as the companion to my Tablet PC at work and it doesn't get any better than that. No complains, highly recommended.

Do not be fooled when the description says this stand holds up to 21" monitors - that is only true for *flat-panel* monitors, not traditional CRT monitors. Note that the weight rating says 50 pounds! Most standard 19" monitors weigh 60 pounds or more. I purchased this item at a Staples near me, and brought it home to use with my 19" CRT. After placing the monitor on the stand, the stand bobbed up and down and seemed as if it would completely bend at any moment.

If you own a laptop and use an external LCD monitor or you are just looking to sneak some small peripherals or desk accessories beneath your monitor or an inkjet printer, look no further. The MetalArt Jr. is a classy alternative to molded plastic stands intended for beafier CRT monitors. I ordered the product to use as a stand for a 17" LCD monitor. Not only does it raise the monitor to the ideal height, but it is spaced perfectly to store my IBM T40 laptop and docking station neatly beneath. The perforated metal at the top of the stand allows air to flow freely and keeps both the laptop and monitor cool.

The description doesn't give the dimensions of the stand, which are very important since its size is not traditional, so I'll list them here (from the manufacturer): 11" x 15" x 4.5".

I really wish that I could give this Apple product 5 stars, write some words of praise, and be on my way, but unfortunately I would feel uncomfortable recommending this monitor.

For two full years, this monitor was great. The resolution is generous, it is bright, and the fully digital ADC interface is perfect. Colors look good from a wide range of angles. The casing is smart and takes up little space, and it's easy to clean. The touch-sensitive power and brightness buttons are a nice touch that you expect from Apple.

Unfortunately, after two years, the top half of my display suddenly went dim, which is extremely annoying. I wouldn't post a negative review here just because I got unlucky. I am posting here because hundreds of customers have seen their displays fail within the first two years. Just look at Apple's discussion boards to see for yourself. (I can't post URLs in reviews.) Apple has not acknowledged that this is a widespread problem, and repair costs exceed that of a new display. It is also unclear as to whether or not this problem has been fixed in newer models.

After ruining my existing CRT monitor, I had to buy a replacement. Searched for low-cost, high-quality CRTs and found none (went to at least 6 stores). Brought home two CRTs and immediately took them back. Then decided to up the ante by looking at LCDs. Bought the Sony SDM-HS73 (based on reviews and store demo). Brought it home and immediately didn't like the text when plugged in my G4 -- very fuzzy and gave me a headache.

So I finally did what my wife and several friends suggested, spend the $700+ and buy the monitor I knew I really wanted/needed. Save yourself the search and buy the best to start.

Cons: price tag, only Mac compatible, must need ADC.

I have always bought Sony products, but now I feel the need to ... due to my experience with this TV. I bought this TV 6 months ago, and the TV seems to have lost it's brain. The computer in the TV that allows you to change the volume, channel, input, etc. is locked up and the TV will do nothing now. Sony only has a 90-day warranty on this product, unlike most TV manufacture's which is 1 year. This is a very pricey fix to have to pay [$$$] to fix a 6 month old [$$$] TV. I recommend if you buy this product also get the separate extended warranty.

in my own experience with many different sony products. all purchased new from major retailers i have never experienced the problems such as the other reveiwer did.in fact i purchase kv-32fs17 have owned it for 10 months now. totally defect free such as many of sony products i have owned .sony owner for more than 16yrs.many of my friends are also long time owners of these products.some more than 24yrs.

I spent a long time researching before I bought a TV and for the money this is the best you can get. The quality rivals anything out there, even TVs that cost twice as much. Put in a good DVD, adjust your set to your likings (there's several good options) and you'll see why you spent the extra few hundred for the "true" flatscreen.

This product will arrive defective. It is not a true 27-inch TV as the so-called regular TV viewing mode of 4.3 gives you 2 inch black bars on the side, and stretches the people vertically. If you go to the other modes, either the people are squashed vertically or the sides are smeared in a blur. When you complain to Westinghouse they will ignore you. When you tell Amazon they are sending out not only defective, but misrepresented merchandise (27") they will advise you to sell it to some other poor sucker on their website so they can take more money from you.

So far so good iv'e had this unit about one month and I'm delighted so far.
Strengths: Great picture(Awesome), compared to plasma tv's, not much of a difference. Sound quality is great as well, with built in 8' speakers and integrated surround sound with a subwoofer connection as well.

Weak Points: The remote control is a lil' more complicated than most but if you have a universal remote you'll be okay. It is a bit on the heavy side(about 50lbs) so wallmounting is questionable but if you have the correct brackets you should be fine.

All in All a great value, a lil' cheaper that others in it's catagory. For those who download movies off of the net, it's Ideal for PC use as well as Sat and Cable.

This is a fantastic unit. We decided to enter the high-tech world and go for this Westinghouse LCD wide screen TV. Ultra sharp and ultra bright picture and SO light weight! Being able to enjoy DVD movies the way they were meant to be seen is fantastic. Also being able to use with our computer is such a great feature.
Hope Westinghouse brings out a DVD Player soon. Will buy one as soon as they do! No disappointments. we are very happy!

Think about it, There is no way in your lifetime people are going to give away a 15K Plasma for 2k.
IF the seller asks to use an ESCROW service, ditch it.
I was interesed in buying a nice new plasma for $2,100 but realized that the whole escrow website was a scam

I've seen this monitor on display at a retail outlet and wish I could afford to buy one. The picture is bright, crisp, detailed. Colors are vivid. It's presence is rivaled only by the Toshiba 50HP82 and the Panasonic TH-50PHD5UY, both 50" screens. The Zenith has PIP (like the Toshiba), many other plasma sets do not. You need an external tuner, like the Sony SAT-HD200 (if you have Directv) and speakers are extra. If you have no budget and you really need 60", the Zenith is the one. Make sure you search online retailers for the best price.

The tv is one of the best i have gotten so far. It was given to me as a present from CRORY but when I turned it on, it was the best. The Picture is clear,and very lifelike, I say on of the best tv's out there, there is no flaw in it, I think the price is right for a TV this good
