Not very reliable, poor warrantyWe started having problems with this monitor 6 months after purchasing it. The picture would blank out for no reason and the sound would stop. Attempts to contact Princeton for help failed. They would not answer email or phone calls. After a year the monitor stopped working altogether. We've since been able to contact Princeton, but they refuse to honor the warranty!
mediocreLets get things straight. First, this monitor does not have the high resolution capacity of any regular monitor. The only great thing about this is that you can watch TV. The monitor is pretty fuzzy and not clear. Don't get scammed and get this monitor. Well actually no. If you like the resolution of a TV, then get this monitor. Im stressing this because, this kind of monitor reduces light glare which is better for you eyes than a regular monitor. Its your choice. To me, i prefer worse eyes and better resolution.
Best monitor I have ever seenI have looked long and hard to see the difference (besides size and functionality) between the wonderful monitor I use now and any common 21 inch computer monitor and have had no luck. If you are looking for a large monitor, for whatever reason, this should be given long consideration. Also if you need a TV along with a monitor but cannot spare space for both and a TV-in card is out of the question, this device also provides the perfect solution. But be careful, it is VERY heavy (I carried mine up three flights of stairs one hot summer day. Thank god for those handles!) The dot pitch is less than "top of the line" but it is nothing I, nor others, have noticed. Over all, I do not question the value of this product.

do not buy this monitorafter i used it for 3 moonths, it broke down. lousy customer service, lousy product, DO NOT BUY THIS MONITOR!
Value for moneyWe have 4 computers and only ever had 15" monitors, but when one packed it in we decided to go bigger. We spent 2hrs wandering a local computer fair and we talked to many people. We liked the idea the proview had its own speaker system.and it was a similar price to many others .
When we brought it home it was easy to get up and running and the picture was so clear. The sound is great too. I find it hard to use the other computers with smaller monitors now. We will eventually replace all with proview monitors.

Great low cost monitorWe purchased the Pro View strictly on the price and dot pitch. It is a fine monitor that we use for video games and associated DVD trailers and complex graphics. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a combination of quality, price, and value.

Mine broke, I suggest another brand!Hello. I bought a Sampo 42" plasma at Costco.com a little over a year ago for $2999.00. I know they have gone down a little but this is whhy I write this. Get this, after a year and one month, the television had no more picture. I called Sampo USA and spoke with Ricky (the technological support representative) and he said that this happens quite a bit with Sampo and that it was a board that went out of whack. He also stated that it would cost about $300 to $500 for the part plus a few hundred in labor costs. Remember folks, this television was only out of warranty for about two months.
After much argument I hired a couple of movers and took it to Costco (locally). They were well aware that this television had many problems and took it back immediately. I was able to get a new Akai and I had to order the wall mount for it. I have not received it yet but I certainly hope and have faith that this television will last me over a year! Anyway, DO NOT BUY A SAMPO or you will be sorry. Good luck with all your plasmas! =)

Gateway 42 inch plasmaThis tv is truly awesome for the price. The picture is very
clear and vibrant. The only problems I have with it is
that their is alot of artifacts in dark scenes and the black is
not quite right. In light colored scenes the colors seem to jump
out at you. I think Gateway did a good job with this one.

HP customer support a joke!I bought this monitor in November of '03. I have sent it back twice and still don't have possession. I was told in February of this year that they would put a "rush" on it for repair. Still haven't seen it! I guess their idea of a rush and mine are two different things.
I was a HUGE Sony fan. Was is the key word here. They will not replace it, sent it back once and said there was nothing wrong with it after having it for 5 weeks. I guess they don't mind having blurred print and discolorations throughout. I will not be buying another Sony product again. Customer support is now an oxymoron.

Sleek design, average performanceImages and text on this monitor are ok, the design is steril and industrial. Once you get close and touch it, it feels "plasticky" and flimsy.
It is in the same price range with other 18" LCD monitors but lacks some of their features, such as a DVI input or height adjustment.
I would recommend the ViewSonic, Samsung or even the Mitsubishi monitors, due to image quality and features over this one any day.

Great Buy!Nice, clear monitor. True colors and viewing angle is a plus. Graphics/text are sharp and clear from any angle. Would highly recommend.

Viewsonic seems to currently have CRT problemsI have had great success with Viewsonic in the past. However, last September I purchased a G810 that came DOA. Its replacement is currently having problems too. My Mitsubishi 91TXM finally died after 6 good years of service. I replaced it with a Viewsonic P225F-5 that came with 1/2 of the screen very blurry. I had the factory replace it and the 2nd one came with 2 very dark bands running vertical through the screen -- about 3-inches wide each. It is going back too. I'm going to try a Cornerstone P1750 next.
Version 5 has quality problemsNote that these monitors come in different versions. I am a happy user of P225FB-4 monitor that is made in Taiwan. Recently I needed another monitor and didn't think twice about buying P225FB, but I bought version -5 this time. It is different. Not only it has different layout of both front and back panels, which I have no objection to, but the image is also of considerably lower quality. Graphics is not bad, but text in high-res modes (1600x1200) is not readable. I also noticed that on version -5 it now says that it is made in China. After I tried two units of P225FB-5, I decided to try Cornerstone P1750. That monitor works flawlessly with both text and graphics. On top of that it can do over 100Hz refresh rates at 1600x1200 resolution, unlike ViewSonic.
The bottom line is if you can get P225FB-4 -- it is excellent.
Don't buy P225FB-5 -- poor quality assembly and plenty of engineering defects.
Love This Monitor!I highly recommend this monitor! I use it mainly for gaming. I had to upgrade my video card to 256K to match the monitor's high-resolution capabilities.
I accidently "crash tested" it when it fell off the back of my truck at 65 m.p.h., and it suffered no ill effects!
The only drawback is its incredible weight, and lack of handles, making it extremely un-portable. It is much bulkier than a standard 17 in. CRT. Not something to bring to LAN parties...

Cheap Monitor, Two Thumbs DownI purchased this monitor because of budgetary concerns. This item was the most inexpensive 17 inch monitor available to me at the time I made the purchase. My overall experience with this monitor was very poor. When the screen wasn't contracting or glitching the overall picture quality was poor to fair. I've viewed numerous different monitor models since I'm a college student and this particular monitor had as poor of picture quality as any I've seen. A week out of the box and I began to see slight contractions of the screen from time to time, growing more frequent each day. Display glitches and flashes also occurred. I could tell this was a "cheap" monitor as soon as I set it up. I sent it back and now will search for a better quality monitor. I'd stay away from this brand, that is, if you ever come across it again. 3G Technologies? Searches across the Net come up empty with these guys. Two thumbs down.
Great graphics , excellent performanceA very clear monitor that rivals the best in the industry. The image quality is excellent. Definately worth buying

no name product provides no name performanceSometimes it realy doesn't matter if you buy a famous brand VS a generic. For example, canned peaches at the market. There isn't much difference between one brand and the next. But, my expaerience in buying computer monitors, specifically "Gem" and "3G" has taught me that the lower price also means lower quality, poor support and an over all lower value. I ended up having to return several units, and wasting much of my valuble time. In the end, I went ahead and bought a major brand and have been much happier.
No Problems Herehad this monitor for 6 months. no problems at all. after you have been gazeing apon a 14' packard bell monitor that the vertical and horizontal boundries change whenever, this monitor is spactacular. if you are used to a small screen, this monitor is great. easy on screen menus, and picture quality is supurb. i would recommend this to anyone looking for a cheap quality screen.

Doesn't work with Viewsonic monitorsI suppose that this would be an OK piece of gear if you don't have a Viewsonic monitor, but if you do stay away from it. It does not work with the DVI connectors on the Viewsonic flat panel monitors. Instead you need to order the DVI II extractor from Dr. Bott. This is a major hit since Viewsonic is one of the larger and more popular monitor brands available.
Works for me with ViewsonicI have a G4 Quicksilver and purchased a VX900 Viewsonic. The adapter works just fine. Much better price here, I paid $59 at CompUsa in the store...

Fuzzy is the wordMP503B looks ugly, but that ain't its worst virtue. Image is totally fuzzy, and viewing angle is pathetic compared to most other LCDs. When I try to adjust brightness or contrast, very little change. Not a good choice by any standard. I should have opted for a Viewsonic.
Great MonitorI own a Cornea 503 - very stylish looking - that I use at home and a Cornea 1501 - more traditional looking - that I use at work and both are absolutely stunning in their resolution. I watch DVD's regularly (at home) and have no trouble enjoying the movie from across the room - albeit a small bedroom converted to an office. At work several people are able to gather around to examine the what is on the screen while collaborating on a project. The price is very "right."

Wow, what a junker1.5 weeks old, it screams (and I mean LOUDLY) at lower resolutions such as those your system goes through before reaching the Windows desktop. The red color gun is badly out of alignment. It doesn't retain screen resolution settings well, such as height, position, etc., when switching resolutions to one you've setup previously (big problem for gamers). And it's blurry in spots, not something I'd expect from a .20 dot pitch monitor.
Save some money and get a better monitor: buy a ViewSonic. Just returned my Hitachi for one myself.

ExcellentVery happy with this monitor. Flat screen which reduces glare and .20 dpi for very sharp picture quality.
