Without question, these are the worst monitors I have ever used. Our office owns four of these, and they are all terrible. We even had them replaced and the new ones are just as terrible. The colors are inconsistent, they constantly flicker, are out of focus, and every so often, they make this scary bzzzt sound, the screen goes blank, and everything resets. Yes, this is after adjusting the focus, color, and pincuscion controls. I will never buy another Viewsonic monitor, and recommend you avoid this particluar one at all costs.

I have owned this model for over 2 years and never had any problems with it. I have owned other Viewsonic monitors and they have worked very well, so I would buy Viewsonic monitors again. In fact I'm buying another soon.

The "PC Connectivity" of this monitor is a joke. I wanted to get an immediate refund. Windows XP is NOT compatible with this sleek hi tech monster. All I could eventually get was HUGE type that was still blurry. BUY A TV MONITOR, NOT THIS MESS.
It would make a nice TV as it is portable and seems to pick up vibrant and bright color. Frankly, the Sharp Aquos series is far better--it's a really beautiful set and picture. It does NOT claim any PC ability. At least Sharp is honest.

I've gotten this as a gift and am using it as a computer/tv in my bedroom. The picture quality first off is amazing. I didnt set up the HDTV yet but on new dvd's the picture is awesome. With its widescreen format i can use the computer and and set up a web page or any application on the left side and have the tv PiP mode on the right side with plenty of room. the PiP can be either 6 or 12 inches in diagonal, and sound source can be from the tv as well, so you can watch espn while surfin the net or writing a paper. When in regular full TV mode the picture is set right in the middle with two black lines to fill up the screen. if your watching a wideformat film on TV you can press the WIDE button and it zooms in the screen to make it fuller, although it doesnt get it perfect, but its still helpfull. After pressing the WIDE button 3 times it become a 4x zoom mode. The sound quality is pretty good, the only thing that is it doesnt really get too low,it goes from zero to 50, but when i'm at 1 or 2 it sounds just like its at 5, but thats no big deal. Currently i have my cable, computer and PS2 hooked up to it, all within a touch of a button i switch in between either three. Oh yea, and all my friend looovvveeee it, i dont want to say they are jealous, but they get this look in their face like ooooooohhh.

I have gone through 4 of these monitors in the last 4 years. The first two were replaced under warranty after burning out. After two years of use both of the replacement monitors burned out within a week apart.

My computer monitor at work recently went POOF! (literally) and it was replaced by this ViewSonic Optiquest monitor. I had never heard of this brand before, but the improvement in picture quality was startling. The picture is crytal clear and sharp, and the colors are very vivid, while remaining realistic. When I buy my next computer, I'll make sure I get this monitor.

Update on 7/10/03: Still very satisfied. A solid performer. I'm recommending it to friends.

My brand new Monitor...less than 6 months old...starts smoking and spitting sparks...then little flames come out of the top....If I was not home...I am sure my house would have caught fire.

So...I send this thing back...it cost me 82.00 to have it packaged and shipped by UPS (Viewsonic won't pay me back)

Viewsonic will replace it...but...since they don't have one in stock...I have to wait. All the resellers have plenty in stock but the factory is out?
I have been waiting over 3 weeks now.

Also I have to call them to get this information. I would think after they promise a 5 day turnaround once they recieved the old on...they would at least give me an e-mail to explain the delay.

If I was not so impressed with the product (when its not on fire)...I would tell everyone to stay away from this company.

I bought this beutiful peace of art about 6 months ago, probably even longer ago, and it is STILL one of the best CRT Monitors out there. What else would you need then a 22 incher? I did have some shipping problems, but I was delighted when I recieved this product. It's easy to setup and adjust (just plug it in!). There will be an installing thing when you first open up the computer. Just put in the CD which came with the monitor and install it. You don't even have to install the drivers from the CD but I recommend it. Goto viewsonic.com for the latest drivers if you're having any problems getting it to work, but that's a highly unlikely thing to occur. I can't tell you enough how nice this product is. I've had NO PROBLEMS at all from day one. I've actually left the monitor screen on for 2 weeks without closing it and it still works fine. It's been more then 6 months since I got this thing and it's working in mint condition. The monitor itself is very nice looking, but its pretty damn big as well so make sure you have enough space on the table for it before you buy it! The demensions are posted on viewsonic.com. And if you have to choose between the white and black version, get the black one. It looks so much nicer then the white one, and it's the exact same price. I love this monitor =)

It is a piece of junk, not only ugly in appearance, but the picture quality is worse than our 20 year old 27 inch model. My wife and I would love to throw it out, but since we just bought it, we are stuck with it for awhile. We have been letting it sit while we go to watch the older,smaller model. This unit is not only a great looking HDTV but the features are great. The HD Digital Auto Convergence is easy to use and saves the time of manually trying to set it. PIP has great options, the Aspect ratio options a also great. The menu and remote are very intuative to a beginner. Overall great product!!!

This 3M Filter is useful and is not expensive. It can protect your eye from the radiation and it also can reduce the glare, but the point is that filter comes with only one year warranty(not like some others with life time warranty)....

I had to visit the 3m website to find out more info. on this product. They had a chart and some info. The info. I was looking for was how much privacy was given. The only privacy built into this screen is for people trying to view from you right side or your left side. It gives them that black viewing screen. People directly behind you can read and see all of what your working on your computer. I find this to be a bit over priced. But with the free shipping I got at time of purchased made it worthwhile. Not enough of these privacy screens could be found at local office supply stores. Their catalogs were pricey! And not much info to go on either. Amazon should of put in their editorial in as well as the 3M description. On what and how these privacy screens work. (Percentage of screen info is filtered out of prying eyes.) Since their are quite a few type of privacy screens out their to choose from.

I bought one which is on its way, but I cannot help pointing out that the image shown is not consistent with an ARCH stand. Could someone please comment on this? Personally I believe such a dedicated piece of equipment should come with the TV, but that is a separate issue.

It's not the best lcd out there, but it's pretty good considering it's sub 300 price. Could be brighter.

The cable is fine for applications where you have a monitor that is 15" or below and runs in low resolution. If you are planning to run a larger monitor, like most of us do, then this product will not meet your standards. The result of coupling this cable to a 19" monitor running high-resolution are ghostly images. In short pay the 30 - 40 USD to purchase a thicker cable.
