Very Sharp Monitor
I did a ton of research prior to purchasing this monitor. The best features compared to similar models are:

500:1 Contrast ratio for clarity
High brightness
Low price
Liberal dead pixel policy- they will repair after only a few have gone out.
Great warranty- 3 years with an advanced cross ship.

I had never heard of Cornea and was a little leary. I called them and spoke with several representatives who made me feel more comfortable. They are a newer company with a great product. The lower prices are being used to establish them in the market. The features you get with their models would cost much more with other companies.

The CT1700B has a crystal clear image and looks very sharp on my desk.

Excellent Flat Panel Monitor!!
Just got this today. This is my first flat panel after a good deal of research. Specs were comparable, if not better, than those of the competition. Easy set up...No Dead Pixels...What more can you ask for?

Three letters - W.O.W. - end of story.
Traditionally, TFT monitors have looked amazing when doing normal desktop tasks, but really let themselves down when it comes to anything exciting, like DVD playback or fast-paced 3D gaming. The major problem has always been 'ghosting' -- the effect where anything moving leaves a visible trail behind itself. This is due to the slow response time of the LCD pixels; they simply couldn't switch colors fast enough.

Hercules claim to have fixed this with their 20ms response TFT screen and proclaim it to be the saviour of gamers and movie-watchers alike. Well, having had this monitor for few days now and really put it through its paces, I can proclaim that all their hype is true!

UT2K3 plays awesomely on this screen - every pixel is displayed flawlessly and there isn't a hint of ghosting, even when spinning round to take out someone behind you. Perfect.

Need For Speed Underground is a real blast - the roads streak past at the speed of sound, but don't leave any trails. Flawless.

DVD playback is equally impressive - rich, lush colors and superb contrast make viewing movies a pleasure, unless the monitor is above your eye level, when the display fades quite drastically.

Add to this the fact that it sexes up your desktop like you wouldn't believe and you've got an amazing package. OK - you don't get built-in speakers (who needs them nowadays anyway?) or a USB hub (get one for $20!!), but who expects extras when you're getting such a quality product.

Hats off, Hercules - you've done it again!!!

      Herucles PropehtView 920 Pro DVi
      LOOKS.

At a Lan looks can be a nice factor to have. Fortunaly the Herucles has plenty of it. It has a sleek black/silver metal look to it. Infact the whole back is metal and the stand is metal. However the front plate is plastic, along with the buttons. This definatly will steel the show at LAN's! (get it steel heh!) The hitachi looks plane jane and nothing special. Not really much to say about it.

Now to what we have all been waiting for!

      20ms vs 16ms

Most manufacutrers would like you to belive that 16ms is faster, and it is, but they do not test equally. And AUOptronics dose admit that thier product dose not display all the colors correctly, and is not a ture 16ms panel.

For the Test i useed my two computers below both have a form of Radeon 9800 Pro, both monitors were connected via DVI and both used cat 3.10 with 2xAA and 8xAF enabled.

      The Game: Unreal Tournament 2003

I have to say, the Hitachi was a joke, it had more ghosting than the Hercules. But what made it worse was in dark areas the Hitachi's colors would get worse, in very dark situations you cannot see at all.

The Hercules monitor had very birght colors, and i noticed little motion blur, though there was still some.

Both monitors did not handle dark areas as well as a CRT, however the herucles handled the areas ALOT better than the hitachi.

I have to conclude that hands down the Herucles PropehtView 920 Pro DVi is the best Gameing LCD out there, it has style and preformance, however it dose cost a great deal more than the AUOptronic panels witch are acceptable for gameing.

      Great Home Theater
I purchased my Hitachi after doing several comparisons. The fact that Hitachi makes their own components is a huge reason their TVs are the best. They have control over the entire process of building the sets.
DVDs are simply fantastic. My DVD/Home Theater system is not a progressive scan system yet I would challenge anyone to notice the difference. Cable is acceptable and usually depends on the signal quality which determins how good the picture is for analog. VHS tapes are okay but I can hardly wait til I can go DVD recording and dump my VCR( after I transfer my tapes to DVDs). Sound is also VERY good. All in all I'm extremely pleased with the set.

      AWESOME
It was between this one and the Sony V600 model. Lucky for us we were able to compare them side by side at a local store and Hitachi was clearly the winner. Every type of signal was compared and the only signal that looked better on the Sony was the air antenna. When we received it, the picture did not seem as good as it did on the showroom floor, but after reading the manual and making some adjustments the picture was terrific, even on analog cable!

Great TV, and what a bargain!
I bought this TV after Chistmas, because I wanted something bigger and better to use with my DVD player and Xbox. After looking at many TVs, and reading many reviews online (including Consumer Reports and epinions.com), I decided the JVC fit my bill. I hooked it up two weeks ago, and have been happy ever since.

It has a great picture, very good reliability, and also turned out to be quite a bargain in comparision to other sets like ($) Sonys. I decided to wait to take the HDTV plunge, because for me it's just not worth the ($) price difference. I'll use this TV for the next 4-5 years, and when I upgrade to HDTV, I'll have an awsome set for the bedroom.

      A very good television
We just bought the JVC AV-32D302 television and I am impressed. The image sharpness and quality is awesome and the features that comes with the tv are impressive. The sound is pretty good and I find that the TV itself has a great look. I would definitely recommend this product.

        Perfect
I'm usually staring at my monitor long hours and the strain was beginning to wear on my eyes. This was just what I needed, at a perfect price not to be beat.

        Just what I needed !
my monitor faces a large window with a very bright afternoon sun shining directly on my monitor, forcing me to close the blinds in the afternoon. The filter does it's job allowing me to keep my blinds open ALL day now! Nice color, nothing to rub or scratch the casing of the monitor due to the inside cushining of the filter! I reccomend this product! No complaints from me! : )

        Traded in My 17" CRT
First of all, I can't believe I concur with the magazine reviews, as I usually find the user reviews on Amazon and other places to be more helpful. I thought I wanted a 17" LCD but wanted to look at them in person. It's sad, but Gateway is the only store in NY where you can actually try out the monitors using real computers, software and mice. Anyhow, my visit to Gateway talked me out a larger monitor (they have 15" and 18"). The larger one was "huge." And you are told these things look better at maximum pixels so the big one was set for 1280 x 1024. The little tiny icons on that big screen were hilarious. I tried a game of free cell and the cards were so tiny and spread out, it was weird. The bar on top on the AOL screen was also almost too small to see. I felt like I was at the movies. The 15" was much more user friendly and seemed sharper. I finally ordered a 15" but a KDS, based on reviews and price. I love it! It's clear and sharp. The 15" screen seems hardly smaller than my 17" Dell CRT. Nothing fuzzy about this screen. It's also very slim and good looking (okay, it's not Heather Locklear, but you get the idea). It does come with an annoying sticker across the top that took me 20 minutes to remove with a glue-remover (but be careful what you use on the actual screen...read the instructions before cleaning). This one is a winner!

        A great encore.
I bought my first KDS 2 years ago and a second one a few months later. Overall I had been quite pleased with the performance. However, when one of them stopped working a few months ago, I figured it was new monitor time. I called KDS and told them I hadn't registered the monitor at the time of purchase. They asked me for the serial number and within 1 minute informed me that they would be glad to replace it for free, as the date of manufacture was less than 3 years old. In a week, I had a brand new monitor! Last month, I returned the favor by buying a few of the new KDS-15 S-3Fs for the office. They are even nicer than the first generation I bought. Three cheers for good products with great customer service!!

        Brilliant display
I bought this display for my main gaming machine and I am very happy with it. The display is bright, sharp and fast. It has a 16ms response time, which is great for gaming/video. I have never seen any ghosting with this monitor and I've tried all the latest games, including FarCry and UT2004. The display includes DVI input and a cable, which a lot of other LCDs don't bother. One nice feature is there no power brick for the monitor. The brick is built into the monitor, so it uses a simple electric cable and plug. Another good feature is the usb ports. There are 2 usb ports on the back of the monitor. The placement is a little inconvenient. It probably would be better to have them on the side. You can never have too many usb ports, so this is a small issue. My monitor arrived with no dead pixels.

One thing, $900 is far too much for this monitor. $500-$550 is much more reasonable.

After buying and returning 3 Sony displays, this is the best
I thought that investing in a pricey Sony lcd monitor (17 inch "HX" model for over $650.00) would guarantee quality and excellent performance. The first Sony HX totally sucked because the text was at time illegible, and the "moire" effect (the constant ripples scrolling diagonally on the screen) was so very distracting. I thought it was defective and exchanged it for another one. The second one had three burnt pixels, and I returned that one thinking the entire shipment to that store was bad. So I went to Circuit City and bought another one, only to discover that the moire effect was even worse than the first one. After returning that to Circuit City (with a 15% restocking fee - OUCH!) I carefully researched for another brand. I found LG and decided to take a risk. Boy, did that risk pay off! Now, sure it doesn't have all the gee whiz features like the Sony, but who really care about that when the display quality itself is the most important thing? Right out of the box, this monitor rocked! Setup was very easy, and even let's you fine tune the colors to your preference. The display is bright, text is sharp and clear, and the colors are soooo vibrant. I cannot recommend this monitor enough, and I will never ever buy another Sony again.
