Used Car Type SalesI contacted Yahoo and apparently that is what they are a bunch of. The description was misleading. The product is well worn.
I do not like dealing with people or companies that are deceptive. I would not by anything else under such circumstances.
Compact but not so great

Pretty good most of the time
Works well and a great space saverOverall, I highly recommend this KVM switch. Anytime you have a lot of computers in a little bit of space, it will come in handy.

Poor Buttons & Web Site Configuration Tool Needs WorkFirst, the buttons on the H688 are flimsy and small. Feeling your way around the remote is difficult. The directional buttons (up, down, left, right) are on a small metal ring and pressing it repeatedly becomes painful - especially if you're a heavy TiVo user.
Programming this remote from the web site is also a mess unless you have a very basic setup. I have a TiVo, DVD, amp, TV and satellite box. Took me over 4 hours to worm my way around all the configuration steps and choices until I got it where I liked it.
If they could make the buttons more like the Sony RM-VL900 and improve the web site, I would recommend this remote to others. Right now, I'd say the Sony is a better bet even though you have to manually program it.
I'd like to know how this deals with discrete codes...The rating is irrelevant, I've never touched the product.
finally, I can put all my original remotes awayWhen I got the unit, I went to the harmony web site and told it what components I have-then I set up activities like watch TV. The web site asked what I watched TV on. (The TV of course.) Then it asked what I used to change the channels. I choose the cable box. Then it asked how to control the volume-I play the sound through my stereo. It then asked the what input to set the stereo to when watching TV and what input the TV uses to tune the cable box. Now when I hit the "Watch TV" button the remote turns on the stereo, TV and cable box, set the stereo to the proper input and sets the TV to receive the cable box. The channel buttons operate the cable box and the volume buttons work the stereo. The unit knows just how long to wait after turning something on before it tries to send further commands. In the mean time it can operate the other components. Way cool!
The remote knows what components to turn off and on when you change activities. So if after watching TV I want to listen to the radio-with one button the remote turns the TV and cable box off and sets the stereo to my favorite radio station.
That's just a couple of examples of what the remote can do. The online database has all the codes I needed to get started and I fine tuned the functions on the remote after the initial setup.
To answer the previous post, the unit can work input selection where you have to hit the input button until you get the desired input as opposed to a button that directly selects the input. I knows how many inputs are in the cycle and counts how many times it needs to send the code. The "help" button prompts you through getting the remote back in sync with components if you change the inputs manually.
The remote also has device mode where it works like a dedicated remote for each component-in case you don't like the "activity" model.
I have the H688 since it has page up and page down buttons I frequently use with my Replay TV digital video recorder-choose the unit that has the buttons you need.

garbage
Good comfortable wrist support.I'm really happy with this wrist/mouse pad. I spend a lot of time on the computers at home and at work. I had a frozen right shoulder from not having good wrist support and from working with the mouse in the wrong position. I was in screaming pain about about a year. This mousepad helped by providing good wrist support which lowered the stress on my shoulder. I wore out the first Belkin gel pad, and am now on my second.
The gel pad is covered with a nice low friction material, is wide enough so that your wrist isn't stuck in one position, and is neither too hard nor too soft for comfort. The part of the mouse pad where the mouse runs wild and free is also covered with the same low friction silky material so the mouse can be moved easily. It is also cut wider at the top so that the mouse has more room to move, while your arm doesn't have to move as much.
When this mouse pad wears out, I'll probably buy another of the same. Until they come up with direct mental control over the cursor, this works just fine.
A must for writers or anyone using computer heavilyI really loved this and the ease from pain it give me.

- Soft, non-irritating and non-chafing, leak-free, oil-free construction.
- Ideal for the optical or standard computer mouse
- Micro-groove technology helps prevent slipping
- Helps achieve more accurate, synchronized movement between your mouse and cursor
- Improves your performance in a smaller mousing area

Not comfortable and too expensive for what you get
Great for wrist strain, bad for optical mouseAny reason this can't be also made in white? Conclusion: if you use a corded, roller ball style mouse, you are ok. If you use an optical mouse, this is most definitely a mousepad to avoid.
Almost completely satisfying!
- Large finger-operated trackball is easy to use, offers superior control and reduces hand and wrist movement
- Sleek shape is flexible enough to use in either hand
- Scroll wheel provides convenient and easy navigation
- Limited 3 year warranty

Wrong
Excellent Little Mouse at a Great PriceThe scroll wheel is a nice addition but is set in the mouse further than usual. This has its ups and downs. On the positive side, the scroll wheel does not protrude clumsily from the mouse. On the other hand, it does take some getting used to and slows the pace of scrolling.
The optical eye is smaller than I have seen on an optical mouse. Again, on the positive side, the small eye slows down the mouse movement such that the pointer does not go careening around the screen. On the down side, some people may like that feature in their mouse.
As for the construction, it does not feel like the most sturdy mouse out there but I suppose if you don't smack it around like a hockey puck, it should last you just fine.
Great bargain

The best trackball I've ever used!

More Toy than Tool!
Worth the money, that's about it.
Portable and Left handed!!The positives:
1. It is truely ambidexterous, since the main button is the trigger under the trackball one can use it with either hand without changing the mouse settings. I carry it everywhere, because I can log onto the network plug into a spare USB slot and go. When I log off I just unplug and the right handed setting for the machine remain intact.
2. seamless power point. It's so small I can tuck it into the palm of my hand. no more stopping to reach for a mouse or keyboard buttons, asking coworkers for the 'next slide', or fighting with the IRDA settings or batteries in a wireless device.
3. I've discovered it's an improvement on the mouse scroll wheel - by holding down the left button and using the track ball I can scroll both horizontally and vertically.
4. Mouse tag - with both the track ball and the regular mouse connected to our desktop my kids have discovered a whole new dimension to their video games. I now longer have to put the 1 player games in 'time-out'; they are suddenly 2 player, whoever is quickest to click gets a turn. Even office applications have become fun for them.
negatives:
1. If you aren't used to a trackball it will take some playing with your mouse acceleration settings to customize this product. As I said you can use it anywhere, but unless one does some customizing it can take a moment to move the pointer across the screen (of course this added control is convenient in graphics applications such as illustrator and gimp).
2. durability - It just seems flimsey, as if the plastic pieces barely fit together. I haven't had any problems after months of toteing my track ball everywhere, but I carry it in a special compartment of my backpack and I've never dropped it. If you are hard on equipment this might not be the product for you.
3. I've had trouble getting my Linux box to recognize the USB device, but it works with the PS/2 adapter
Have fun! :)
