looks purdy - a half-... mouse
I was so excited to see this mouse - as my flat panel monitor, speakers, and keyboard are all black - all I needed was a black mouse. Despite the drivers coming on a 3.5" floppy with a home-job label on it called 'Mouse Suite' [scary!] - they didn't work for Windows 2000. So I search around ... site and finally found drivers that work, and I now have a fully-functional mouse.

I love the LOOK of this mouse, but it is not exactly the best one I have used.

You get what you pay for
To small to begin with. I am of average build but my hand seems huge on it. The position of everthing seems off. I play alot of first person shooters and I just hated it. The extras for the price are nice but I like quality above bells and wistles. So if want buget mouse and not gamer maybe, but only if you have small hands.

Hey its just a mouse....
Well its black and thats cool....its got a big IBM label on the front....it pionts, clicks, and does everything a mouse is suppose to do. It even has that cool blue scroller on the top...if all you wanna do is piont and click(isnt that what we do with a mouse anyway) and you want a cool looking black one(like me) then this one is for you!!!

Agreed, it is a garbage
My Canon 2.0 i960 printer malfunctions if it is connected to this card. But it works fine in other my desktop 1.1 ports & laptop 2.0 ports.

so, clearly something wrong with this. I emailed customer service. No answer from customer service. Thanks to Amazon.com's good return service !!!

Awesome Card
Great card, I can connect my MP3 player and scanner at the same time and have two extra ports for future stuff. Just installed it into in a PCI slot and I was up and running within minutes. Keep it up Startech.

Great Value
Very easy to install and it works perfectly. I think its a great value card. Would recommend this card to anyone looking for extra USB ports.

Fellowes 99197 Cordless Laptop Optical Mouse

Not as good as I thought!!!
This mouse looks sleek and works great when the cable is connected!!! I didnt spend all that money for a CORDED mouse!!!.. When the cords are removed...the range is very bad...They advertise 6FT range...what I really get is less than 6 inches range!!! I even got this exchanged for another one and even the new one is bad. I'd go for another brand of cordless mouse. This one's just not worth the money!!

Does A Higher Price Indicate Quality?
I have been using a large Logitech cordless mouse with my laptop, and decided to look for a mini mouse that would take up less space while traveling. There were a variety of them in the store, most of them priced less than the Fellowes. Once again my highly fallible logic suggested that a higher price must mean a better mouse. When will I ever stop thinking this way? Well, it also looked cute, and one can't overlook this factor.

My first problem with it was the instruction that I must uninstall all other mouse programs on the computer, an assignment that I have never faced in the past. This means I can't use my great Logitech mouse anymore? Well, this wouldn't be too bad providing the Fellowes proves to be a top notch mouse.

Well, it isn't. The mouse seems to have more friction between itself and the mouse pad or other hard surface. It's small, but you have to push it harder to overcome it's striking inertia. Then there are the batteries. My Logitech has a nice recharging stand, but the Fellowes requires you to run a wire from the mouse to the USB port receiver whenever it needs charging. And, unfortunately it needs a lot of recharging. Unlike some other battery driven mice, it doesn't give any advance warning that it is running out of steam. It works perfectly one second, and the next second it is dead. The wire system also is cumbersome, and, in my experience, doesn't fully recharge the batteries. Plus, it only seems to charge (a several hour process) when the computer is on, and that is a nuisance. So I had to buy a separate battery charger and some more batteries. I keep three extra sets of charged batteries on hand at all times so that I will not be powerless right in the middle of some task.

I would suggest that you try a different mouse than this one. If the one you do choose isn't any better, well, at least you probably didn't have to pay this price for it.

    The ultimate notebook mouse?
Not quite--but close to it. It's very well engineered and constructed. The mouse is comfortable (for a mini mouse) and the transmitter is a flash-disk sized USB dongle. Plug the mouse into the transmitter to recharge the 2 AAA NiMH batteries and you can still use it as if it were a corded mouse so there's no down time or hunting for replacement batteries. They include a 6" USB extension that you can use in case the transmitter blocks other ports on the computer. It's also very attractive looking.

I use it on a Mac Powerbook, and Apple just announced a cordless mouse that uses Bluetooth so there's no dongle at all. Brilliant! If Fellowes comes out with a Bluetooth model then I think it may be perfect.

    What a letdown =(
I bought this mouse just a week ago, but I couldn't stand it, I took it back and got another mouse. I will never be buying a Kensington mouse again.

To start things off, the scroll button is extremely awkwardly placed, and when you try and use it it's difficult to rotate. After an hour of use my middle finger started to ache from using it. On both sides are ridged rubber pads, which at first I found nice, but they quickly caused my fingers to sweat and became slippery.

The mouse came with a program to configure the 4th and 5th button. The program offered some neat functionality, such as the option to have a pop up menu where you could run programs from with just a touch, but with these features came other problems. The program featured a mouse acceleration program that couldn't be turned off. By default this was configured to make your mouse move more pixels per inch (or whichever measurement you prefer) based on how quickly you move your mouse. I typically move quickly to an area at first, this caused me to overshoot wherever I wanted to click most of the time, but to make things worse as I tried to get back to that spot, moving slowly, the cursor would go incredibly slow at such a different rate as experienced before that I just couldn't get used to it.

And if that's not enough, when I plugged in my replacement mouse, and attempted to uninstall the program instead of removing the mouse driver it removed my keyboard driver... using only my mouse I had to copy and paste the characters necessary to spell out www.kensington.com from a notepad file, download the mouse program, despite no longer having a kensington mouse, before I was able to use my keyboard again.

Having never used any of Kensington's other mouses before, I can't be sure they all are this horrible, but it's just not a chance I'm willing to take anymore.

Nowhere near as good as my Logitech optical/wireless mouse
I keep my logitech mouse at work, however the model I bought is about 3 years old now. I've been using it faithfully since I bought it. But when I went to buy a new mouse for home, I found that the Logitech was no longer being made. The new mouse is longer, lower, and lighter. So while I'm very happy with the Logitech, I got the kensington because it most resembled the mouse I have.

The kensington is okay. It sets up easily enough, and the software that comes with it is marginally useful.

The real gripe I have with this mouse is that the control of the wheel is not very good. Scrolling with it is jerky at best. With the logitech, it is very smooth. So I actually find myself using the scroll bars and not using the scroll wheel at all. For being a scroll mouse, that's pretty sad.

However, I bought the mouse for home for one reason: To play Unreal Tournament 2004. My "home" computer is a laptop, and playing FPS games is absolutely impossible on a trackpad. So, for the game, the mouse is more than adequate. Its tracking is smoothe, the movement on my mousepad is fine, and it is even fairly comfortable. It has enough buttons, and is well supported by the game.

I just would not recommend it for anything other than casual use or gaming. The wheel is a real hindrance, and the quality just feels poor in comparison to my Logitech.

    David's done whacked Goliath again!
For almost 25 years now the relatively tiny Kensington company, headquartered amongst the Big Boys in Silicon Valley, has been making the best trackballs --- input devices where the base of the device stays put and you move a ball with your finger/thumb to move the cursor around --- in the business.
But compared to behemoths like the big Swiss outfit Logitech and the galaxy-gobbling entity known as Microsoft, Kensington's had a hard time letting folks know its mice, wired and wireless, are as good as any being made these days.
Well, folks, let this 25-year veteran power-user of computer peripherals make it real plain and simple: Kensington's current crop of mice are as good --- AND as reasonably priced --- as any you're likely to find.
I bought this Pilotmouse Optical Pro to replace my much-loved Logitech MX500 (which had cost me nearly double in 2002 what the Kensington did in March of this year), primarily because its shape was so simliar to the MX500's that I knew it would be a comfy fit for my XXL mitts.
Well, friends, not only is the Kensington as comfy as the MX500, it equaled or surpassed the (admittedly superb) Logitech product in speed, accuracy, flexibility AND looks. This mouse can keep up with the MX500 in every game scenario you can think of --- Counterstrike, Call of Duty, Age of Empires, the Sims, I mean EVERY game scenario. And what's more, after epic all-night MMORPG sessions, my hand and wrist felt fresh as daisies.
I've read the other reviews here, and frankly I don't know what caused the negative experiences with this fine mouse that they encountered. All I have to say about that is this: For under $30 you will NEVER find a better-performing mouse than this one. Period.
    Buy one, right now!

    Only the Mouse?
Page indicates "Labtec Cordless Desktop (PS2)" with picture of mouse and keyboard (without cords). But after receiving the email receipt, it appears only to be a corded mouse. Page is misleading.

You can get a better optical mouse.
If you haven't yet switched from a roller ball mouse to an optical mouse, you're in a for a very pleasant surprise. You'll be amazed by both the improvement in accuracy and the ease with which these optical mice can be adjusted. Of course, optical mice do not require a mousepad, a very nice bonus when you're tight for space. (However, it should be noted that they do not work well on glass or on a highly polished surface.) It is in the long run however that the optical technology really shines. With no moving parts to wear out or get gummed up, they age particularly well. This Labtec model works well enough, though the price on this mouse is quite a bit higher than for a comparable Microsoft or Logitech mouse. As the title suggests, shop around, but by all means buy optical.

    It's pretty convenient
Let's imagine how it would be convenient to avoid all the terriblesome cords and be comfortable with sitting apart from the monitor, sitting into the chairs. You have great wireless keyboard and optical mouse, it's easy to use and install it.

Allsop Natural Elements Comfort Wrist Mouse Pad

      Not worth the money!
Aesthetically, the colors on the pad are different than the picture, all green/dark green and not very appealing.

As for physical use of it, there are no rounded edges, so after about an hour using it, my arm is tender from it grating against my skin.

I would encourage you to buy a different one.

      Very durable and comfortable
I own one of these for 3 years now and it is still going strong.Being that it does not cost much money I am surprised that it can withstand the beating it gets from my children, husband and myself.

My wrist never hurts when I use this and I even tried another mouse pad with wrist support that I received as a gift only to have to throw that out and continue using my Allsop.

So if you are looking for a less expensive mouse pad that will give added comfort and last you years,I advised getting this one.

      Poor Macintosh OSX Compatibility
Zero documentation for installation and setup on Mac -- I had to download a PDF from their website and ultimately email Belkin Tech Support for help.

Once I got the mouse basically working, I asked them how to configure the various buttons. Out of the box, the side button does nothing. Belkin told me "We don't have any special software to program the buttons but you may be able to find a third-party application"!! Clearly their Mac OSX support is an afterthought. My advice: Wait and buy one that really IS compatible.

      Pretty good on OS X
Although there's no documentation about OS X, it's simple to set this thing up (in 10.3.3): just open the Keyboard & Mouse preferences, choose Bluetooth, and click "Set up new device..." and push the connect button on the bottom of the mouse.

And while there's no OS X support for the third (thumb) button, you're still a right-click and a scroll wheel ahead of Apple's own Bluetooth mouse offering... for less money.

      Try to avoid!!!
I purchased the creative wireless mouse set, looking at the good price they offer. As simple as it was I should have realised that the price they offer is LOW so is the device. It has major compatibility issues with my Hp laptop. The customer service UNLIKE other companies, has stange customer service timings, (during the normal work hours) and they dont work on weekends also. Strange!
It would be better to spend $10 more and get it from another manufacturer.

      Liked it!
I purchased this because I liked the look and because it was at a good price. The mouse had a good weight and feel after I received the product. Buyer is happy!

Mouse tray broke, keybord tray cracked, hard to attach
I had some trouble getting this keyboard tray attached to my desk correctly. The brackets attach to the desk easily, but to attach the drawer, I had to crawl under the desk, lay on my back and try to align the sliding rollers into the correct slots on both sides. It is pretty tricky to get it lined up properly.

If you bump the drawer wrong, the rollers come out of the slots, and you have to reattach it - something I don't enjoy doing very often.

Once I got this keyboard tray attached correctly to the desk, it worked very well for awhile. But I must have leaned my elbows on the keyboard drawer, and it cracked in the middle. This didn't affect the usability, but it made it a little more unstable.

After awhile, the slide out mouse tray broke off completely.

I liked being able to slide the keyboard under the desk to move it out of the way. I also liked the wrist pads on both the keyboard drawer and the mouse tray. The mouse tray was a little small to move the mouse around, but I got used to it. If the tray hadn't broken, I would have been much happier with this product and would have rated it 4 stars.

      Better than nothing
I read a review that said the sliders are great. They are. Everything in between is not. The plastic cracks. My biggest compliant is the mouse tray. It mounts to the side at a significantly lower level than the keyboard tray. It's killing my wrist. I avoid my mouse as best I can for this reason, but sometimes it can't be avoided. On these days, my wrist is sore for days.

      Keyboard Tray
This product is a good idea that needs to be manufactured better. The mouse tray slide is made out of plastic and the slide broke after a couple of weeks of use. This makes the tray significantly less atractive. The gel wrist rests are very nice. The mouse tray is a little small but would have been very useful if it had not broken.

I bought 2 and 1 quit working after the first month
The USB transmitter no longer communicates with the mouse, so basically I have to go through the hassle of exchanging or returning. The other mouse I bought (exactly the same kind) works great and looks good too. Go figure.

Worked for the first few days ...
I have been using this unit for a few day and loved it. Now the however... the right click botton just quit working. Well, it works 1 out of 10 times. Pretty sure it isn't the battery because I replaced with new ones to see if the problem goes away.
On another note - the bottons may be a little stiff and noisy for some. But I think it's acceptable.

I'll contact IOGear product service tomorrow. Stay tuned...

The mini mouse looks and works great!
I wanted a small portable wireless mouse to use with my laptop and I first ordered a regular sized optical mouse which worked great but was way too big. Its clunkiness made me less mobile, which defeats the purpose of having a wireless laptop. The mini mouse was exactly what I was hoping to find!

Anyways, I have had the Iogear mouse for about two or three months and I use it almost every day. I have hardly ever had to recharge it - the sleep feature of the mouse really saves batteries, and it is really precise! I am a graduate student in electrical engineering and I have to create a lot of drawings and circuit diagrams and run simulations, and the mouse works way better than my touch pad. It doesn't stutter or anything like that and it works on many different surfaces. I read the other reviews here before I bought it, and I was worried I was going to have problems, but it's turned out great! I figured I should write a review to combat the others since I have had such a good experience with it. I would highly recommend this mouse, and it matches my laptop perfectly.
