Too heavy, too slow, too power-hungry -- not worth the $$
I tried this mouse to see if I could avoid using my touchpad. Although it installed easily, movement was often jerky and slow. CRITICAL FOR ME: It drained my laptop battery much faster than normal. Also, if your USB port puts the receiver/dongle within sight, the blue light that flickers and flashes with every mouse movement is very distracting. With its batteries installed, this mouse is HEAVY! If total carry-around weight is an issue for you, or if you don't want your laptop battery drained, this isn't the right mouse for your ensemble. I took mine back for a refund.

Excelent wireless solution for both desktop and laptop pc's
When I first thought about buying this mouse, I wasn't impressed by the reviews. Most of them spoke bad about it and pointed a lot of weaknesses. But I decided to buy it anyway, since I had a friend at work who had one and was very pleased with it. The one I bought came with the cradle and I must admit that it's very useful, since you can charge the batteries when the mouse is not in use and also you can plug the receiver and keep working.
The mouse is very accurate and precise, the blue led from the receiver is nice to look at and, to tell you the truth,it doesn't bother me at all or distract me, like some people said it would.
My recomendation is: if you want a wireless pointing solution for your laptop, go for this one. It works fine and it's a lot smaller than some from other brands.
I paied 54.90€ for the whole pack and must say that I'm very happy with my purchase! Great value for money!
The pack comes with:
- Mouse unit
- RF Receiver (USB)
- Rechargeable batteries
- Battery charger cradle
- USB cable extension

Great improvement over the previous model
This new model is much better than the older unit. The greatest improvement is the on/off switch and power saving functions. The old version would only save batteries when it was left still, which never happens when it's in my bag and always ended up taking the batteries out which was a real pain.

I do not find the switch hard to use as some people have indicated. I have short nails and stubby fingers, but I have no problems with it. It's designed to not be accidentally switched off.

I use 700mAh NiMH rechargable batteries in the mouse and it's been a week now and I haven't had to change them with moderate use. I also find it comfortable to hold and pleasing to look at (important with laptops I think.)

The wheel rolls silently, but the clicking could be a little quieter since it is a laptop mouse that you may want to use in a classroom or boardroom.

The bendable usb adapter is a nice addition and I would recommend this mouse to anyone. I have used it successfully in Windows XP Pro, Gentoo Linux and FreeBSD.

Battery Eater
Glad to hear I am not the only one who should buy stock in Duracell. Just wanted to echo the other reviews in that this mouse goes through three AA batteries every two weeks (but the keyboard can go for months??) If anyone ever does hear of a fix from Intel please post. In the mean time I am thinking of getting an optical wireless anyway.

Mouse
Just thought I'd let you know that I e-mailed Intel tech support regarding the mouse battery issue, and let them know how displeased I was.

They did indeed, help me out. I suggest you do the same and e-mail them.

In fact, I *$trongly* suggest that you do the same.

It Works!
If you have your PC hooked up to a TV this is a great add-on. I can easily control the whole thing from the sofa. Or even if you just want a less cluttered desk. I can move it all aside and have a lot of space for doing homework or projects. As for the mouse, a set of batteries will only last a few weeks, but I bought a set of rechargable batteries and never worry about it. I also bought two game controllers. If you have the mouse and keyboard go ahead and get the controllers. The programmable buttons on the keyboard are an especially nice touch and I love the colors. I am so glad to get rid of the wires on my desk.

    Fellowes! Are you listening????
I purchased this mousepad to replace my worn-out Belkin WaveRest pad. Recognizing Fellowes a a "reputable" company plus the fact that they advertised this mousepad as "optical mouse friendly", I decided to give it a try. What a MISTAKE! My Logitech MX300 suddenly got a case of the jitters and moves in the opposite direction! As for the odor of the gel, there is a slight odor but barely discernible for me. The gel pad at first was comfortable and cool to the touch on the wrist but after a short period of time heated up and caused my wrist to sweat profusely! I'm guessing that this mousepad is better suited for the user who doesn't use an optical mouse. SHAME ON FELLOWES for advertising it as so! If you guys are listening, you need to go back to the drawing board on this one because right now the one I have only serves as a decorative piece on my desk and a reminder of my expensive mistake!

    I AGREE! False Advertising!
We have an optical mouse and decided to buy a mouse pad for it. We saw this one and it being a known brand, trusted what it said, "Optical Mouse friendly" Well, it's not. It's a big disappointment! It's comfortable to the wrists though.

    Nice gel, bad size
The gel pad is very comfortable. However, the surface of the actual mouse pad is much too small, and the back of it attracts every stray speck of dust. Also, if you have a limited amount of desk space (a dorm room desk, for instance), the fit is awkward. I recommend buying the gel pad alone instead.

GE should not have their name on this
This wireless keyboard and mouse have been more of a pain than a convenience. It constantly looses its signal with the receiver regardless of where I locate it. The keys are sticky and have very little feedback. They feel like plastic rubbing against plastic. No spring, no kickback, nothing. Also the software for the keyboard is not very Windows XP friendly. While logged in, do a Fast User Switch and log on with an account that does not have admin rights and then have that user log out and the officekb.exe utility always hangs.

The mouse always needs to be moved a little first before it will respond, it is not instant. The software for the mouse is very poor. While navigating through my file system using My Computer, the window would pause and freeze for a second and then let me move the mouse to double click on a new folder. I uninstalled the mouse driver and software and installed Microsoft Intellimouse software and picked a similar 5 button mouse, assigned the same settings to the buttons and had no problem at all.

Overall, if I could have test drove this set I would have put it back on the shelf. Unfortunately for me, I threw the box away (and receipt) before I found all these problems, so I am out the money!!!!

      GE Wireless Keyboard and Mouse
Just bought one 12//05/03 - had some difficulty getting it to work with the included SW and their directions - somewhat frustrating - once installed the kb did not function correctly - some of the keys did not assign correctly - I ended up using my orginal drivers and everything seems to be working great and all the speical function keys seem to work - no problems with the mouse - I do agree the lack of a keyboard manager is a problem - now to see if it will continue to operate long term - considering the cost of the MS optical mouse - I consider it a good value - also have a micro inovations wireless kb with a ball mouse that I picked up elsewhere for 10.00 after rebates - the keyboards seem quite similar -

      PrtScr!
Why doesn't the PrtScr work?? Does anyone know, or can anyone help? This is really pissing me off. Otherwise, it's great. I love it. I highly recommend it. BUT DAMN THAT PRTSCR!

      rough install, wastes tape
Purchased several, had problems each time I tried to install. Poor support. I do NOT recommend. never did get to work with XP!

It's a bargain, if you can stand the quirky software.
Compared to comparable label printers this unit is a bargain at [$$$]The product concept of combining a hard plastic Mouse Pad and a Label Printer is STRANGE to say the least. But fortunately you can remove the useless mousepad.

Software is also quirky (you are advised to download the latest software FA-B30 from the Casio website which does support XP)

In it's default state after the software is installed it takes over the right mouse click context menu so that you can print
make labels out of whatever text that is currently selected instead of the normal right context menu for the application. (I'm not sure why they did not just add this function to the existing menu instead of taking over) - This feature can be disabled by properties.

The software is actually quite friendly in many ways, it shows the preview of the labels being printed, there are some pre defined BMP images that can be inserted to the labels, it even allows you to caputure a part of screen and insert it to the labels. The user interface is not very intuitive but I'm not complaining at this price.

All in all this is a useful printer at a bargain price

Great product at a very low price
      1. Got it at Fry's for only 14.99
      2. It is overpriced at Amazon.com around $28.
      3. It is cheap because Casio is only giving you
the printer and a USB cable. It costs Casio more to
manufacture the input keyboard associated with the
      label printer.

      Good product.
