Unstable
When I first got my Wireless Turbo mouse, I found the transparent blue ball to be a little sticky, so I dropped the putty-colored ball from my old ADB turbomouse into this new one and found it to be smoother . OK. But then my first Wireless Turbo Mouse sucked batteries; I had to change them about once a week. Kensington replaced it, and now I've been using the replacement for about a year and I'm finding that the cursor jumps randomly all over the screen. New batteries helped a little but I can be working and suddenly the cursor will jump to the other side of the screen-or if I'm word-processing, the cursor will just start drifting uncontrollably down the line. It's disastrous in Photoshop. I'm going back to usb. And I'll probably buy a Kensington Turbo Mouse.

Warning this mouse contains lead
This was replacement from the company because I old one didn't work well at all.

On the back of the packaging there's a sticker added to the back of the instruction manual which says something about lead in the mouse cord and that California recognizes this as a health hazard and to wash your hands after touching the mouse cord etc...

it's a great mouse but their previous MIB didn't have this problem. I would give it a five but because of this lead issue I won't.

Lastly, it doesn't fit a regular Macintosh Keyboard because the adapter is too long. It can only be used on a Mac pro keyboard. crazy

anyone know where i can get an old MIB?

    High maintenance!
This trackball worked great for about the 1st 6 months. Of course, I had to clean it at least once a week because the mechanisms that operate the trackball get extremely gummed up and any hair or fibers will get wrapped around the small rollers inside. I loved this trackball because I am a left handed mouser & I have very small hands, this trackball allowed me to be on my computer for hours with minimal discomfort. But after 6 months the bliss ended with a trackball that wouldn't track. I sent it back to kensington & they repaired it & sent it back to me. Meanwhile I went out & bought another just like it while my old one was being repaired. I thought it was just a defective unit. but after about 6 months the new trackball stopped tracking too.
So I wouldn't buy this product unless you don't mind shipping it out to repaired every 6 months for 3 years & then buying a new one (because Kensington only warranties this product for 3 years).

It's shame because out of the box it's the best trackball I've used. I'm now using an Logitech Marble Mouse. I experience more discomfort in my wrist with this one but I've had this one for over 2 years now & it still works great.

Kensington needs to come out with an optical version of this trackball

    Not quite as advertised
I have a Dell laptop. This inverter provides sufficient power to recharge the battery while I drive. But it 'cuts out' if I try to turn on the laptop to use it in the vehicle. The information on Amazon.com doesn't make clear the limitations of this product.

i wish i had researched before buying...
i really wish that i had read reviews before i bought this mouse! it seems to have the same problems as the corded kengsington studio mouse (it looks exactly the same). now that i've read the reviews, i seem to have the same problem many others have had. one thing i NEED on a mouse is a scroll button/ pad... the scrolling DOES take a lot of effort and it usually stops working all together. i have to restart my computer to make it work. at first i thought it was the battery, but no. it's the mouse. sometimes the scroll might not work but it will shut down one of my applications for some reason if i accidentally touch the scroll. however, it's RIDICULOUSLY frustrating bc the base is detecting the scroll pad BUT IT IS NOT RESPONDING. as cool as it may look, i don't think it's quite worth it.

        Mouse Trackball Underperforms
Mouse is unusable; not sure whether the issue is the trackball or wireless technology. I need to replace the mouse with the something usable.

Keyboard works OK, but hotkeys do not work on my PC. Customer support does not answer e-mails. The keyboard only use the PS/2 style connector. The problem may be that I am going through a PS/2 keyboard/mouse to USB hub (...USB connection back to the PC).

        Good mouse, Bad buttons
This mouse looks great and is very similar to the Macintosh optical mouses but with two buttons and a scroll wheel added for Windows use.
The Sony mouse worked fine except for one thing.. the buttons did not spring back up enough. My finger was getting tired of pushing the button down - I had to mash the button into the base to make it 'click' (right index finger is still numb two days later).
I snapped off the top to try and fix it myself, but it looks like it has a design problem (button can only rise so far, and spring is too weak). I contacted Sony on their website to see if I could replace the mouse and they recommended contacting a Service Center (which will probably cost more than the mouse - and the mouse will more than likely still have the spring problem).
So try the mouse in a store first or save the receipt and return it right away if you have the same problem - I don't know if my problem is a typical one.
By the way, this is the first Sony product I have ever been disappointed with (I own lots of Sony) and I wish they had been nicer to me! That's what reviews are for I guess.

          Horrible product, does not work
I plugged it in and installed it, restarted my comp. and it said couldnt find driver. Finally got it to recognize driver only to discover that the scroll ball is stupid. Pages go up and down when i roll the ball horizontally and changing the settings with the software has no effect. Circuit City should cut this product off.

          Star Logic 8D
This Mouse is the worst thing I have ever bought for my computer, and since I built my computer from the ground up, I should know. First, it would not install on windows XP, XP just WOULD NOT recognize the driver for it. I tryed contacting tech support and got back a question for my answer. After answering the question, I got no reply, even with repeated attempts. Secondly, the scroll ball began to stutter after only a few days, and within two weeks, quit altogether. Lack of Tech Support, and Lack of Function make it a POS for me.

I have used one Star Logic 8D mouse
I just got a Starlogic 8D mouse from Circuit City. The one I got is not the same modle as shown here. I have no difficult install or use it so far. I installed the driver on my windows XP and then plugged in the mouse, it works all right. I can scroll up or down, left or right, and the ball moves very very smoothly. I plugged in my original mouse and both mouses can work at the same time...

The only concern I have over my 8D mouse is that the ball takes a little bit large place and therefore the right and left keys are smaller and it is not as comfortable as those old mouses to click on left or right keys.

If you need a mouse for a serial port, don't get this one. It doesn't come with one. Amazon's listing is bad.

Was advertised has having a serial adapter,Does not contain any adapter,so returned it to Amazon. Is not a serial mouse, even though it is advertised as one.If you need a serial mouse,do not get this one.
