This a small optical mouse that unfortunately does not work in that the button functions are set and you can't change them. For example, whenever a dialog box opens with a default Yes or OK button, the mouse cursor automatically moves to that button. This is an option for an intellimouse, but the option can be turned off. The Targus website says that these options are not changeable. I personally cannot use a mouse that moves the cursor by itself - I've tried for two weeks and, while writing code, have had to do some rewrites.

Otherwise, if you don't mind this functionality, it's a nice mouse. I'm returning this one.

Very cheap. I am not impressed by this mouse at all. I recommend Memorex Optical Scroll Pro SE Mouse instead and it's a dollar cheaper

I'm very displeased with this product. It's WAY overpriced. There is next to 'nil in the way of documentation anywhere on the web about this product. Also, only after purchasing the product does one find out that it only works with Win95 & 98. The software for the mouse is subpar and very non-user friendly. The operation of this mouse is also very poor in that, when scrolling, the software continuously displays random program windows, as if one were pushing the preprogrammed buttons. This is a horrible product.

I bought this device to hook up a Logitech wireless mouse via a Linksys KVM switch to 2 PCs. The mouse motion was erratic and tended to overshoot the target screen item. Installed latest mouse drivers, no effect. Tried hooking mouse directly to PCs, works fine. Tried hooking KVM switch directly to PCs, also works fine. Problem is clearly with the USB/PS2 converter. Called technical support at IOGEAR who admitted that they have problems with some cordless mice - they recommended I return the device. At least they were honest, but it would have been better if their product worked properly.

From the description, I thought this was an optical mouse. Under the mouse's "Features", it states "Durable optical technology provides smooth precision and resists dirt, eliminating the need for cleaning" However, this mouse has a track-ball inside that needs to be removed and cleaned just like any other mouse. There is a little red light inside the mouse that make the mouse look like an optical mouse, but it's a track-ball mouse like any other one.

I gave this mouse 1 star because, for the money, there are better track-ball mice on the market.

FYI - It does not specifically state it here, but this mouse is for the PS2. It will not work with a USB port on a PC.

2 weeks after I sent in my order, and 2 emails trying to find out the status of my shipment from the seller, the seller finally sent me back a message telling me the item is in back order. I want to know how long will it take for them to receive their shipment so I can decide if I want to cancel my order or not. But no response again!

I thought this was the answer to my prayers for numeric input on my laptop. Plus it is a mouse to save space. But to use it as a keypad it really sucks. Because the buttons are recessed into the frame of the "mouse" you can't get your thumb on the zero key. Plus it is harder than I thought to get used to it being the "mouse" AND the "keypad".

I had to return the one I bought. Uhg.

The description for this item is incorrect. There is no serial connection with this mouse.
