It Works!!
No complaints at allIt works like a champ. No need to install the (optional) software, no need to plug it in-- just hook up the cables and you're good to go. You just press a button to switch between the two devices.
Only thing to know is that there's nothing "automatic" about this-- you need to do the switching yourself. The word "automatic" refers to another way you can use this switch-- to hook two PCs up to a single device. I don't need this capability, so I haven't tried it.
Good product.

don't trust themm-audio does not have forums on their site.
there is a reason. their drivers are unreliable and highly incompatible.
absolutely refuse to provide any documentation nor do they accept returns.
if you value the stability of your computer, stay clear. stay well clear.
so easy to use
Great for home use. Install the driver for your Mac!A note about appearance: My Uno's body (the oval part, smaller than an average computer mouse) is a deep translucent blue, rather than the opaque color in the current photo here on Amazon. Also, the cables are all one color, black, though the IN and OUT plugs are clearly labeled in molded lettering. There are three green LEDs: one that lights up when the computer recognizes the adapter, one for MIDI in signals, and one for MIDI out -- handy for troubleshooting.
I bought the Uno to connect my Roland alphaJuno-2 to my PowerBook and play with GarageBand. I took it out of the packaging (a rare treat: a molded clamshell-type plastic package that isn't heat-sealed, so it doesn't have to be cut to shreds to open) and hooked it up, and nothing happened. I initially thought that Mac OS X would recognize it automatically, so it took me a few minutes to realize I needed to install the driver software. Although there are drivers on the included CD-ROM, I downloaded the latest version from the manufacturer's web site, installed, and the Uno instantly lit up and GarageBand informed me (because I already had the Roland powered up) that a MIDI device was now connected. It's worked flawlessly since.
Simple to use; no extra cables to attach -- I think this is the perfect USB MIDI adapter for GarageBand users or anyone else connecting one MIDI keyboard to a computer at home.

Nice Small Remote, but Keyspan has bad Customer Care. The only problem I have had was when I upgraded to Mac OS X 10.3 Panther, the volume buttons no longer operate the system volume anymore. I have sent MULTIPLE emails to Keyspan with only a reply saying they will respond in 72 hours, but THEY DONT! Everytime I try to call nobody answers the phone.
In conclusion, this is a great remote for controlling everything on your computer from a few feet away, but beware if you need any technical support because they may not be there to help you.
Does exactly what it should
With latest drivers, it works with both mouse and keyboard! You can configure the buttons to hit keystrokes - single or repeated with configurable repeat frequency and number of strokes - or cause mouse movements and clicks (yes!! with the latest version of the keymapper software, mouse movement is possible). You can ensure that Ctrl, Alt or Shift keys are accompanied with any of the key strokes or mouse clicks.
The battery in the remote control is a standard camera battery, and it runs for a reasonably long time. I am using it extensively since last 1 year, and the batteries aren't even weak yet. The remote control works even when it is not exactly pointed towards the IR receiver. In fact, it works over a really wide range of angles.
The only complain I would have with this remote is that the buttons and the remote itself are too small! For a small presentation or for occasional use, it may not mean much, but if you're going to be watching DVD movies on your computer and you like to change Volume at every scene (like me) then you may feel uncomfortable holding the small thing in your hand for too long!
All in all, a definite buy for anyone who uses their computer for multimedia purposes.
