This is a real hassle saver!
For those who need to share a dial-up connection, this hardware solution is a life saver. This box connects to the network via Ethernet, and is always ready to establish a connection. It is not necessary to have a 'connection sharing' computer always on to dial out. Physical installation was very simple: connect the box to the network and power, and connect a modem to it. The software is simple to install and configure if all you want to do is share a connection. It also offers very advanced features. It will stay in place even after I get a cable or DSL connection, as a back-up.

      Cheap and Effective
Bought this mainly because of the price. It was way cheaper than router and cables. This includes cables which are the most expensive part of networking. The draw backs are it looks cheap, blank shell no lights or anything on router, cables are about 8ft long 4 included in the pack. It works great if you want to create a room into a lan party. The cables are to short though to go to far. This has worked well for the seemingly low quality compared to a namebrand router and cables, but hey I don't care if anyone steps on the cables of spills on it or whatever, it didn't cost me a lot of money. Pros are easy to use plug in and go, and price ofcourse.

      GREAT PRODUCT
This was a very easy product to use. It connects easily (without taking the computer apart) to the paralell port, the software was quick to install (our "old" computer has Windows 98 on it) and set-up of the network was painless and effortless. We now have easy access to our "new" computer, printer and two people can be on the Internet at one time.

      So far, So good
In setting up a Home Office, I sought an easy means to switch between a WinXP box and Apple System. This gave me that and more. I highly recommend the unit for anyone attempting to cut down on wire clutter and empower themselves with a one-click method for switching in between systems and operating systems.

Easy to set up, works like a dream!
Need to network computers on different floors? This product can be used as a bridge or as an interface for an individual machine. All I had to do was take the units out of the box, plug them in to the power line and the Ethernet switch (using the supplied patch cable), and it all worked right away. Just a word of warning, though; you can't plug these into a surge protector (including any surge protector inside a power strip.)

        GREAT!! Smallest AND most convenient
This is an awesome product. I can already see its possibilities. For curiousity's sake, I use this with my Dell Inspiron 1100 (a mediocre laptop nowadays)

        Pros:
-Small & compact (this is actually the smallest USB hub ive seen) so it's great for ppl on the go
-Relatively inexpensive compared to other hubs

        Cons:
-Takes a while to detect after startup

Overall, I am pleased with its performance. I have heard of other hubs overheating but I don't seem to have that problem with this one =)

Extremely thin, reliable, and easy to use
This is an extraordinarily thin and slick USB2 hub. I checked out many others at circuit city, and this was by far the most attractive.

        - 3.0"L X 0.5"H X 2.25"W
        - adapter: 5V 2.5A 12.5W, even the 2-prong adapter is slim! It fits "sideways" into your power strip easily without taking up two outlets =) I haven't seen an adapter with this ingenious design/orientation before.

The hub can also work without the AC adapter, but I imagine it drains power from my laptop. But it's nice to have the option.

As with any small usb hub, there's a chance that you may have difficulty fitting devices that are slightly larger than average, e.g. USB IR receiver for your mouse or some USB thumb drives. It was a tight squeeze, but I managed to carefully fit my receiver for my Wireless Optical Notebook mouse (Targus PAWM10) without too much trouble. The mouse also came with an extension cable for the receiver which would circumvent the tight fit, but that's just one more thing to plug in than necessary.) It helps that the receiver swivels 90degrees.

I've read reviews of other hubs, indicating that they overheat. I haven't experienced it myself. The Kensington remains quite cool. It is possible that without the AC adapter, it may heat up. But I'll leave that for someone else to investigate.
Connection is truly plug & play. The book even warns you about the alert when conneting backward to USB1.1 device.

I often have my pda, camera, printer, and mouse conneted simultaneously. I can't say that all devices are truly running simultaneously, but for someone who does average-to-heavy computing I haven't had any problems yet. I use my IR port for my pda now, so have freed up the port for my usb drive.

It's a great buy and very elegant--a great price through amazon. It will look great among your other trendy gadgets and fits conveniently in your laptop case, pocket, etc.

        Solid performer
You can't go wrong with this device. It's the only hub I have that operates solely on power supplied by the PC. Plug it in and go. It's that easy to use.
