Mediocre Hub With Issues
NETGEAR Fan!I use my DS-108 in a 100% Netgear environment. It is connected to my NetGear RT-328 ISDN Router. I have had no problems with this piece and it worked as advertised right out of the box.
The support for NetGear products is great! You can get lots of answers from the NetGear website as well as register your products online too.
I am a Systems Administrator for a growing software development company, and I give NetGear two thumbs up! If you can't or don't want to pay big bucks for Cisco, 3Com, Intel, then NetGear is for you-- the most BANG for the BUCK!
Way better than Linksys!Get these hubs before they're all gone and all you can get is funny colored plastic.

Networking a modem? Kinda silly...In short, get (or wait for) broadband, make sure your broadband modem is of the ethernet variety, then buy one of the multitude of lower priced switches/minihubs available here and elsewhere if you want to share that connection.
Good for small office or home networking
Good answer for modem-based wireless network

Great - until it blows up!Before the flame-out I thought it was great - small, cheap and easy to use. Now I'll think twice about trusting their products.
great deal
Nice switch; can't get any simpler!

Does NOT work with Linux even though it's advertised
linux works just fineAfter executing "mknod /dev/ttyUSB0 c 188 0", I am happily communicating with Palms and GPSs using the new /dev/ttyUSB0 device.
Works great with OS X
- True 10/100 autosensing ports (dual speed per port)
- Internal store-and-forward switching for effective traffic reduction
- Pro-grade hub with 100BaseTX RJ-45 ports
- Each port automatically adjusts to either 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps speeds

Worked for 1 year and then chip burnt up....
Simple to use
Great Hub at a Great PriceI found the 3COM network cards to be difficult to install and configure, both the intel and 3com hub and network cards to be expensive. I've installed over a dozen of these types of Linksys hubs and network cards have always been trouble free and easy installations. I like less work.
The 100BaseT connections work great for file transfer between servers and high use computers. The 10BaseT works great for connecting devices like network printers. And, nothing beats a self-starting network printer on a network.
Be sure to get linksys network cards too. They are cheap and work perfect, and are easy to install.
Note: If you plan to daisy chain many hubs separated by more than ten (10) meters there are issues with configuration that limit speed. This is true of all hubs. For complicated networks, see your local computer consultant.

Extremely Good Product
Good range with 2.4Ghz, and Solid Connection802.11g is a happy medium with adequate speeds and good range. I can go anywhere in the house and if I am furthest I can get from the router I still get a good 2Mbps transfer speeds which means no slow down in gaming online and surfing online.
The router/AP keeps our connection fairly good. There have been times when we were dropped from the wireless connection, but it came back up in about a minute after that. It happened at completely random times so it might have been something do to with interference or some weird wireless thing. It rarely happens and it fixes itself so everything is fine with me.
I'd recommend it to others and advise in changing the default password, SSID, and enable WEP to actually be secure. You'd be suprised that about 75% of people don't secure their wireless connections.

This thing stinks!!
good combo hub, but doesn't integrate the twoOtherwise it's nice looking and seems to work well enough.
I don't think it can do that... I don't think it is possible to upgrade to USB 2 simply by plugging in a USB 2 hub into a USB 1.1 port. The bus controller speed is still 1.1 on the actual computer, so the signal will slow down when it hits the USB port on the Cube. Sorry.

- Easily connect your ThinkPad to USB 2.0 enabled peripherals
- Transfers data up to 480 Mbps
- Plug and play operation
- Supports low/full/high speed (1.5/12/480 Mbps)

Alternatives for IBM Proprietary Products
Works with my ThinkPad T22 and Win2000 without any driversOne, this card has two ports with one running at full power (500 mA) without having to use an AC adapter. Most of the other cards will require you to plug in an AC adapter to get the full 500 mA. Some of these cards don't even come with the AC adapter even when one is needed.
Two, like someone else on this review said, this card uses a cable extension which makes the card itself very flat. This will prevent the card from blocking any other slot whether it is on the top or bottom slot.
I have tried this card with my Maxtor 200GB external hard drive and my Sony DRX510UL external DVD burner without any problem.
Overall, I gave it a 4 stars instead of 5 because of the high price.
Good, with powered USB 2.0 connector
