A solid hub for SOHO useCompared to the Netgear 24port hub, the Linksys switch fabric is rated at 2.7gbps. The Netgear is only rated at 1.2gbps. What this means is that the Linksys will be better equipped to handle all the devices talking at once at full speed, whereas the Netgear hub would be congested with roughly half of its devices communicating at any one time.
The preamble regeneration provided by the Linksys is an important feature if you still have 10mbps devices at it decreases synch up time.
You'll certainly notice a difference going to 100mbps from 10. A nice side benefit I realized was with the utilization of my cable modem. By having my cable modem router and my machines each on their own switch port, I gained almost a 25% increase in throughput!
The Linksys hub is easy to install and setup, and includes a fiber expansion port if down the road you have a need to connect two hubs together via fiber optic cable. This unit is unmanaged, and doesn't include such advanced options such as spanning tree, but overall for home or small office use the unit will perform very well and require little maintenance. It includes rack mounts and is slim enough to mount on a small shelf.

- Includes 2 network cards, cabling, 10BaseT hub, and drivers for connecting 2 computers
- Share files, drives, CD-ROMs, applications, e-mail, and printers in just minutes
- Optimized for high-performance, 32-bit PCI local bus computers
- Runs with PCI 486 and Pentium PCs
- Add computers at any time just by connecting more network cards and cables

Great for File and Internet Sharing!

Low tech hardware savings planThis is an easy way to share a monitor, keyboard, and mouse with multiple CPUs. The device allows either keyboard enabled or hardware buttons to switch between systems. New systems can be added without creating new problems. Just plug and play.
Worth the price.

ADSL + Router + Wireless 802.11G (French version)I like it because it has 4 ports and is an integrated solution. This can become a problem if you want to upgrade any of the parts.
Wish it had a dual voltage adapter (110 and 220). The adapter is a step down AC type which I'm seeing more of lately. Unfortunately, it makes it harder to find an adapter in the US.

- Whether you're looking to connect two or 253 PCs, why not take a route that eliminates the hassle of rewiring your home or office?
- The Panasonic Concourse Broadband Networking Gateway is just such a high road
- In a few easy steps, using one Cable or DSL (ADSLand xDSL) line, you open the door to more efficient computing
- Share your digital music to any PC or IP Stereo in the house
- Eliminate stacks of floppy disks by saving files onto a shared network drive

Cost effective sharing of my High Speed Internet connectionAll in all, this Panasonic Gateway router has worked well for me since I bought it and installed it over a year ago. I just purchased a Motorola SurfBoard Cable Modem (Sb4200) to replace the one I was renting from the cable company, and it works fine with the gateway too (see my separate review on the modem). I have never used the gateway as a wireless access point as it seems too costly to have to buy 2 cards. It would be cheaper to buy a separate wireless access point and connect that through the ethernet connection (or to a hub, connected to the ethernet port, so as to share that port).

More expensive than a restocking feeI was disappointed that this card does not expose both a Serial ATA and an IDE connector - once you plug this in you lose the use of the IDE connector. For some reason I thought this card had an IDE passthrough, but I was wrong.
I should note that I have only used with CF cards, but it has worked great under both USB 1.0 and 2.0
