    Turnkey approach to small networking
Tired of always having the "good printer" on the other machine at home or office? Here's a quick and easy way to share printers, files and other goodies. D-link's hubby kit is all you need for a small LAN.
D-Link is a well-respected name in networking hardware. Their hubs and switches have been around and hold up well.
This network-in-a-box is a great way to get started. The four-port hub allows that many computers to "talk" with each other and share data and resources. You also get two network interface cards (NICs) and two cables. Plug them in and install peer-to-peer networking on your Windoz machines and you're in business.

    About time...
Finally, a sub $100.00 8 port switch/router/VPN/firewall with Stateful Packet Inspection and everything you need to get your SOHO safely connected to the Internet. There are other's out there, but nowhere near the features at this price range. Setup in place of an older Linksys HPRO200 router/firewall was about 10 minutes including wiring and cycling the cable modem. Rule sets will take awhile longer, but should be nice once it's done with configuration backup and restore features.

    Great Hub go no further
Excellent hub. Fairly small foot print. Unit has no fan, but runs quite cool unlike some other models. Because it has no fan it is silent (useful if your computers are in your bedroom!). Auto negotiation is seamless. Has some auto partitioning capabilities that work very well. Only a very chatty NIC will hose this hub up. Unit display is clear, and the warranty is unbeatable (lifetime). The two instances I have had to contact D-Link for NIC support they were very professional. No 1-800 number for support (grrr!).

    It just works invisibly
I have had no problems with this hub. It looks good and works great. I have used it with an iMac DVSE and have connected a QPS Que! CD-RW, HP 812C printer and Iomega 100mb Zip drive. It connects to the keyboard port; it does not need to be plugged into the iMac itself. What more can I say? It's a great product and I recommend it highly.

    THE BEST CARD EVER!!
When I first saw this card being sold for 9999 dollars, I thought to myself "wow, i'd never even think about spending that much money on a network card", but after much consideration (and talking with the wife ofcourse) I realized that this is the card for me. I bought it and its great. A+ quality. Never have I had a network card so incredible that it transfers at blazing speeds of 10Mbps, or a whopping 100!!! This card is indeed a great buy.

An excellent way to connect old but working printers
This is a great way to connect old Apple printers to ethernet.
The unit comes with the iPrint adapter, a power supply, 10Base-T Straight-through cable. 10Base-T Crossover cable, and a localTalk cable. I used the unit to connect my PowerBook to an old but very reliable Apple Laser Writer. Set up is quick and easy. Works great!!

All Hubs are Not Created Equal
I have heard many great things about Griffin Technology products but only sampled them recently when I upgraded my computer. This is a fantastic hub that confirms Griffin's great reputation.

I purchased this hub along with Griffin's PowerWave; they recommend that you use this hub with the PowerWave and the iMic. I'm told that most hubs are asynchronous (irregular) but the USB-Audio hub is isochronous (at regular intervals) -- a must for USB-audio devices.

The hub works as advertised (but two tips: if you are using a Mac and OS 9.1, you should update to 9.2.2; and if you are using the PowerWave or iMic, you should download the PowerWave Control at ...

BONUS: I have a thumbnail drive made by Lexar; it did not work in my old hub (yes, it was a powered hub). But it does work with this hub -- so I don't have to plug it directly into the computer's usb port.

SIZE: you may not be able to tell, but this thing is smaller than most hubs. The four ports are along the back, but the USB upstream connection and power supply are on the side -- so that gives you a sense of scale. The footprint is much smaller than my old hub.

If anyone had told me I'd be excited enough about a hub to write a review, I'd have said they were crazy.

        Cheapo hub work great!
I bought this hub a year ago and it still works great. I am using it to link 3 other computer right now on my home network. I don't care that it maxes out at 10mbps. My cable modem can only give me a max of 3mbps (and I never get that kinda speed). great buy for people who are broke (like me) and want to setup a home network at the lowest possible cost.

        Hawking USB wireless is awesome
Had tons of trouble with linksys wireless card wmp11. Couldn't get a good signal through two floors and walls although only 30 feet away. I plugged in the Hawking HWU36D and loaded the software in three minutes... less time than it took to pull out the Linksys card... and now get 100% excellent connection. It has a three foot cord and directional antenna. Good stuff!
