Bad C/S support makes adapter worthless
Good, but does not work in OSX with an old printer...
Works well with any USB equipped mac.I found that I could use my ancient serial printer from my grey G4 tower without even reading the documentation. I could print from any classic application, either running in the Classic environment, or when booting OS9. I was even able to use classic printer sharing across my LAN. The client software just sees traditional Modem and Printer ports, and works perfectly normally.
Note however, that if the serial device you intend to use with it doesn't have any OSX drivers, you'll still only be able to use it from Classic applications. (or 'Carbon' applications which you force to run under Classic) That includes most, if not all non-postscript serial printers.

stay away from Belkin
how many of these die
Works well with USB 1.1 and 2.0Of course, since no product is perfect, here are a few negative aspects:
1) All the USB ports are in the back of the product; it would be more convenient to have them in front.
2) The ports are quite close together. If you're using normal USB cables, you shouldn't have a problem, but some users with wider devices such as a flash card reader or a USB flash drive may have to unplug a cable or two to get the room they need to plug their devices in.
3) The AC adapter is HUGE; make sure you have plenty of room on your wall outlet or power strip to plug that monster in.

Doesn't Work at AllBooting a system gave the old "no keyboard found press F1" oxymoronic error message. Plugging the keyboard directly into the USB port of the computer didn't not have this problem.
The manual says to press 1+2 to "reset" the unit which I tried, but it seemed to go into auto-seek instead.
The manual and website were no help, of course.
If it turns out to be defective when I return it, I'll update the review (upward I hope!).
Not the best for power users
Stable SwitchAs another person indicated in the reivew of this product, it doesn't have a feature to turn off the beep when switching the machines. It gets kinda annoying at times, but it really isn't a big deal.
I have experienced no mouse skipping after switching, which I used to come across a lot with PS2 type of switches before. It's a really good switch if you have two machines you would like to use and all your peripherals are USB.

Too bad DLink dropped the ball.
Awesome Performance from such a Little Box!The setup is rather simple, just follow the instructions, reboot the box and plug it into whatever you want. Just make sure it is within range, and sometimes fiddling with the antenna helps with the signal.
Working perfect (with right settings!)I connected my KISS DP-500 Network DVD to the DWL-G810 and everything is working perfect, but you will need to work with settings for a few minutes.

Doesn't work!
It works, but be warned...
It works! Honest!I plugged it in and it works fine (M130, Windows XP). Perhaps the secret is to install the cradle and all the software, get that working and then swap out the cradle for this cable.
Not sure what the problem is... it does what it says on the box.

Mine was defective
Generally worked well on Mac OS 10.3 and Windows XPI did have a problem when I plugged a Zip drive (USB 1.1 device) into the card and put my Mac to sleep. It would not wake up. I don't know if this is a problem with the Iomega driver or USB card. The computer sleep function worked fine with the Zip plugged into the Mac's built-in USB 1.1 port. I've heard there can be some problems with some devices or cards not being compatable with the sleep function, but when I sent an e-mail to Keyspan tech support to ask about this, I never received an answer.
Works great in my G4 Mac2) Open computer case
3) Put anti-static-strap on wrist and clip to metal on computer case (important any time you fool around inside a computer)
4) Insert card
5) Close computer case
6) Boot up computer
Done.
Works just great on my G4 Mac. No drivers to install, nothing to download or adjust, no jumpers, no nothing. Plug it in and it works. Another good experience with Keyspan (and Apple) -- I will continue buying their stuff as long as they keep putting out good products. :)
