    It works for me.
I needed to connect my old HP Laserjet 5MP to my new iMac through the USB port. I bought this cable adapter in particular because HP specified to use an IEEE 1284 compliant cable for best performance. The instructions did not mention anything about Mac OS for the system requirements but I tried it anyway. Installation was easy. All I had to do was plug it in. I didn't have to use their configuration software. I followed HP's instructions at their website about connecting to USB's. I'm glad I didn't have to buy a new laser printer.

This is one nice USB cable. It is very well constructed and does not have a "cheap" look. Compares to cables that are priced much higher. This is a great deal, especially for under 5 bucks!

      Works as Advertised
I use this to hook my new iPod up to my USB 2.0 PCI card. This can only be used with the new iPod, as it uses the Dock Connector. My thoughts:

USB 2.0 worked relatively well. A few things that users should know: USB 2.0 shares bandwidth with all devices that are using the master hub. Therefore, the more you have hooked up, the slower the speed for each device is. I happen to just be using the iPod with my USB 2.0 PCI card. Another note: the iPod cannot take full advantage of USB 2.0. The iPod can only handle the 400 Mbps data transfer rate that FireWire supplies. The extra 80 Mbps does not make a difference in this situation.

Using this cable initially for my iPod (my computer's OS is Windows XP), I found the installation painless, and it works as advertised.

      This connects an I-POD to a PC's USB Port 1.0 or 2.0
I get an IPod from someone. It's cable doesn't fit my USB port on my PC. I found out it came with a fire-wire cable. I searched for fire-wire to USB cable changer, but I found they don't exist. I saw this (Apple iPod Dock Connector-to-FireWire-and-USB 2.0 Cable), but I thought you had to have an I-Pod Dock and I didn't know what it was. Well, the Dock Connector refers to the port on the bottom of all I-Pods. You plug the "dock" connector to the bottom of your I-Pod (it's dock), and now you can plug the USB cable to your PC's USB port, whether you have 1.0 or 2.0 (2.0 is just faster). Also, now you take the extra fire-wire cable and plug it to your charger, so you can keep charging while your using your I-Pod on your PC. The alternative is buying a fire wire card and installing it in your PC, a little more expensive, a litte more work.

Pretty Straightforward to Use, but Great Anyway
Basically, most people don't have a Mac computer, so most people only have USB connectors on their computers. So go to TARGET and get this Dock Connector for $14.95. It works great for USB ports, and the great Apple interface makes updates a breeze. Overall, great product for computers other than Macs.

      PCX2200 - - maybe, maybe not...
Just installed this but had to do it in a roundabout way. First off, the modem has big warning signs not to connect any cables until the software tells you to. Ok fine. I pop in the CD, it goes through the instructions. It does tell you to plug in the AC adapter into the back of the modem. It doesn't tell you when to plug it into an electrical outlet. By the time it starts trying to detect the modem (and fails, obviously,) I figure I better plug it into the wall.

Even with the modem plugged in, the software can't detect the modem if you're running through a router. Doesn't seem to need the drivers, at least if you're running through an ethernet card. The installation troubleshooting guide was no help. I gave up on the software running in circles and exited. In spite of all this it still worked once I gave the cable company my MAC ID. (Software still can't detect the modem, though.)

Here's the strange part. I've been running speedtests on two different computers. The Win98 computer that the modem is directly connected to runs really, really slow and doesn't come near my 1.5MB connection. My other WinXP computer that is networked through a wireless router gets nice 1.5MB transfer rates off this same modem. Go figure.

I can't speculate on why one computer runs slow and another runs fast, but I can say I had a Motorola Surfboard SB5120 before this and I didn't have these problems, even when running through a router.

Excellent cable modem at a bargain price.
Recently I decided to switch from a dial-up internet service provider with a 56K modem to cable internet service with the a cable modem. The cable modem service has several advantages: (1) I don't have to dial a number to access it; it's on all the time, (2) It's MUCH faster than a 56K modem, and (3) using my computer via a cable modem doesn't tie up my telephone line. My cable company specifically recommended that I buy a Toshiba cable modem so I bought the new Toshiba Pcx2200. So far it has performed flawlessly and I am thoroughly satisfied with it. It seems to be quite versatile: it works with both PCs and Macs (I use a Mac) and is compatible with both ethernet and USB interfaces. The low price was a pleasant surprise -- many other cable modems that were not specifically recommended by my cable company were more expensive. I've had a long histrory of satisfaction with Toshiba products and highly recommend this one.

      Belkin F3U133-06 USB Device Cable
ok i bought this cable a month before i bought my new Canon S820 printer. I just got the printer today but need to let it sit for a day before opening it because the 7 degree temp. when ever you buy computer & componets they should be at room temputure before using. Now belkin is a well respected name in computer cables so just price counted. One important fact others failed to point out is that this cable is UBS 2.0 - 1.0 ready. Make sure anything USB you buy from cable to hubs are usb 2.0 because all new computers are usb 2.0. A USB 2.0 cable & hub can be used on USB 1.0-1.1 but not vice versia. YOu can't use a USB 1.0 cable to hook up to a USB 2.0 device. The speed is much different.

      Best price around
I had to buy a printer cable for my Epson 890. When I priced around, this could not be beat.

WILL NOT WORK WITH PARALLEL PORT ONLY COMPUTERS For the person that had a previous review, this is a cable that will only work on a printer that has a USB outlet. This is not for printers that are strictly parallel port hook ups.

ENDS FOR PRINTER AND COMPUTER DIFFERENT The USB end that is for the printer if you look in the photo, is the small end to the left. It is only about 3/16" wide and shorter than that. The USB end for the computer is the big end to the right in the picture(about 3/8" wide and shorter than that).

MANY USB PRINTERS HAVE BOTH USB AND PARALLEL PORT CONNECTIONS Many USB printers have both a parallel port cable connection as well. That is one of those huge flat type ones (roughly 2" wide).

This may sound simple for all you computer experts out there, but with the plentitude of this type of cable or that, it can get very confusing.

      Great buy.

      Ok it's a cable!! :o)
I do not really know what to say about this item except that it is a cable. Yep it is!!! :o)

However, when I bought my printer, I didn't know the USB cable didn't come with it (Mister salesperson at Sears didn't feel obligated to tell me I guess!!), so I had to find one. After looking around I found out that Belkin was the most famous and reliable brand for computer cables, and others... Brand doesn't make a big difference for me usually, but as far as electronics are concerned I want to be able to get the best, so I went for Belkin... The Belkin website didn't really offer the best price (I wouldn't have thought so!!). However, Amazon did!!

I've had the cable for about 2 months... I actually forgot about it because I never had any problems with it. The connection between the printer and my computer was done right away, without ANY problems.

I would definitely go for Belkin again if I needed to.

Does exactly what it is supposed to, at a good price
I chose this just because I wanted something cheap. I have heard bad things about some other brands overheating or having various problems, but I have been using this a few months and found no problems whatsoever.

It remains room temperature and has had no bandwidth or power problems for me. It appears to have a place to connect a power supply (not included), but that doesn't seem to be listed as a feature so I cannot guarantee it. It has two USB plugs so you can get the power from a second USB port if you need it. I have only needed one. My only complaint with the device is having that extra plug sitting around (attached to the cord), but of course that isn't a problem if you use it.

It's cheap and it works, so I recommend this item.

      Absolutely COOL!
I am totally loving this little thing! Very slick design with those blue lights and the ability to put 4 different USB devices all into one super-mini hub. A must have for this price...

Great, compact usb hub for mobile or desktop users!
This is an excellent usb hub for the price. Very compact and very light. It doesn't take up too much space at all. Also, it's powered thru USB so you do not need to deal with an AC adaptor.

I have a couple of USB devices that are powered through the USB port as well and my concern was whether they would still be active through this hub. I plugged both into the hub and both were powered up!!

And the 4 ports light up with a nice blue led color that's looks really cool!! Targus should show this in their ads/marketing material because it definitely makes the hub look much cooler!

This is a great bargain and perfect for people that need a simple & compact USB hub for all their gadgets.

      Definitely recommended!!

      no problems here
why i gave this printer 3 stars? 2 reasons... 1 i can't find the ink anywhere. 2 all of a sudden it's much cheaper than what i paid i just hate when that happens

      Nice for the Price
I saw this by chance and ended up getting it because the price was right and it had the "all in one" feature. I must say, that it has worked really great. The speed of scanning and printing is awesome. I've been able to scan and print photos for framing within 10 minutes, whereas on my HP it took about 30 minutes.

For the price, you get a good scan and printing that is fast and pretty true to what you scan. One caution, I was scanning without printing at first and the scanned image on screen looked too yellowish. I had a cow and had a not so pleasant experience trying to get a useable answer from Lexmark's online tech support. But once they suggested I print the image to show them and I did, I found that the image printed like what I'd scanned. It did not have the off color tints like the image did on the monitor.

Really, I've been surprised and now use it more than my HP. The copy function is cool, because you don't even have to have the computer turned on to use it. Copies are quick and you can adjust the ink levels to get it as light or dark as you want. Plus copies in color or B&W. I like the machine alot and I'm very glad I got it.

      Great Printer for Great Price!
I needed a printer, but one that had several features altogether. The scanner, photocopy, and printing features are all great. The quality for printing can be adjusted accordingly especially for rough drafts to conserve ink for final prints. This is a great buy for buyers like myself looking for budget price and having many features all in one. Also the usb cable works fine, I saved about $13 with the included one. I've been using this printer for about two months and no problems whatsoever. Installation is a breeze just follow the manual and display menu. It even has a power save feature that can be adjusted accordingly. Great quality for great price. Of course I bought mine when it was $120 which was outstanding in comparison to almost buying the Lexmark X1150 with no usb cable for $100.

      portable and works well
I got tired of packing my USB cradle with my laptop and Visor Deluxe everytime so I got the USB hotsync cable.

It is easy to use and attaches to the Visor securely. Unlike the cradle, the cable does not have a hotsync button. To hotsync, you just go to the hotsync application on the Visor itself and hit "local hotsync". I had no trouble with the hotsync if I moved/lifted the Visor. The cable stays in place. To release it, you have to press two buttons at the sides of this adapter.

My one complaint is that the cable is too long (about 6 ft) and this adds to its size, not to mention the hassle of having to uncoil/coil 6 ft. of cable everytime you pack it. If this was designed for use with a laptop 18 inches to 2 ft. would have been the ideal length. After all, you need both the computer and the Visor close together to hotsync.

The Handspring Visor USB HotSync Cable
I just got the Handspring Deluxe (Ice) and it is absolutely great. I have had it for about 3 days now and I can't get off it. Anyways, I never had alot of room for the big cradle that the handspring came with. So i decided to order this. In my laptop case I could easily fit this in with all my other junk. The cradle took up too much room. This USB Cable is also very easy to hook up. I give this 5 stars because its quick, easy to use, and very portable!

      Handspring Visor USB HotSYnc Cable
Excellent service...excellent value. THis product works as advertised!.

Some things are not what they seem to be!
This promising 6 port USB card caused my machine to "hang" because of the substantial overhead required by the USB 2.0 operations. I have a 3 year old 800MHZ machine with 256MB of ram. Adaptec says it requires "266MHZ or faster". I spent one hour on the phone with tech support ... trying a myriad of 'fixes' none of which worked. The tech ... said ". . . 800MHZ is marginal speed (!), a 3 year old machine predates the USB 2.0 spec and frequently the 2.0 cards will not work in a machine like this!!!" ...

      Piece o'cake
Installation on a XP PC was super-easy. Just follow the instructions, carefully remove the back (case) of the PC, select the appropiate port, slap it in, replace the cover, turn the PC on - and PRESTO! you're ready to go!
XP recognizes the Port Card and it is ready to use.
      Highly recommended.

Installs very easily and works like it should!
I highly recommend the Adaptec AUA-5100 USB 2.0, 6 port card by Adaptec because of problems with Iogear. I originally purchased the Iogear GCI 250 U, 5 port, USB 2.0 PCI card and had severe problems. When shutting down my PC, the Iogear USB card would send a heavy pulse, most of the time, that would just about snap off the Microsoft Force Feedback 2 joy stick handle. Iogear e-mailed me a new driver. After installing the new driver, the problem still existed. Iogear told me to send the USB card back to Amazon.com for credit -- Iogear had no suggested fixes! The Adaptec AUA-5100 works just like Adaptec says it should. The Adaptec card is well worth the extra money. (Is the Iogear sending damaging pulses into printers?) Plus, Amazon.com promptly credited my account when I returned the Iogear USB card. I highly recommend Adaptec and definitely Amazon.com!

Nice Small Remote, but Keyspan has bad Customer Care.
I found this remote easy to install and set up with my iMac G4. You can customize the buttons on the remote to do virtually anything from moving the mouse cursor to keyboard commands to quiting and opening different applications.

The only problem I have had was when I upgraded to Mac OS X 10.3 Panther, the volume buttons no longer operate the system volume anymore. I have sent MULTIPLE emails to Keyspan with only a reply saying they will respond in 72 hours, but THEY DONT! Everytime I try to call nobody answers the phone.

In conclusion, this is a great remote for controlling everything on your computer from a few feet away, but beware if you need any technical support because they may not be there to help you.

      Does exactly what it should
This device makes it much more enjoyable to watch DVDs and listen to music on my computer. I use Windows XP, and it was very easy to install the software (which can also be downloaded from the manufacturer's Web site, by the way) After this I plugged the infrared receiver into a USB port, and started using the remote immediately. Commands for about 25 applications are pre-programmed, but you may have to do some configuring with the remote's software to control some other programs. I had to do this for iTunes for Windows and WinDVD, for instance. It did take some time and concentration to do this extra programming, but the manual is comprehensive and well-written, and the manufacturer seems to offer good customer support on their Web site, if you should end up needing it. Now that I've got it set up, it works perfectly.

With latest drivers, it works with both mouse and keyboard!
This is one of the cheapest and best remote controllers available for the PC today. It has 17 buttons, that are fully configurable. The key mapper software packaged with this remote is pre-configured for a number of different software applications - Cyberlink PowerDVD, ATI multimedia center, ATI DVD player, MS Powerpoint, CD Player, Winamp, and many more. Of course, you can always add an application yourself and configure the buttons accordingly.

You can configure the buttons to hit keystrokes - single or repeated with configurable repeat frequency and number of strokes - or cause mouse movements and clicks (yes!! with the latest version of the keymapper software, mouse movement is possible). You can ensure that Ctrl, Alt or Shift keys are accompanied with any of the key strokes or mouse clicks.

The battery in the remote control is a standard camera battery, and it runs for a reasonably long time. I am using it extensively since last 1 year, and the batteries aren't even weak yet. The remote control works even when it is not exactly pointed towards the IR receiver. In fact, it works over a really wide range of angles.

The only complain I would have with this remote is that the buttons and the remote itself are too small! For a small presentation or for occasional use, it may not mean much, but if you're going to be watching DVD movies on your computer and you like to change Volume at every scene (like me) then you may feel uncomfortable holding the small thing in your hand for too long!

All in all, a definite buy for anyone who uses their computer for multimedia purposes.
