Several recent upgrades and additions to two different audio/video systems brought about the need for several additional cables to include some coaxial cables. Monster Cable's reputation alone brought me to the shelf looking for their coaxial cables in both the three and six foot range. After hooking up this particular model of Monster Cable's coaxial cable, a Monster Cable two way splitter and one other particular model of Monster Cable's coaxial cable I noticed an immediate and highly agreeable improvement in the picture on a new Sony television. Prior to using these great coaxial cables from Monster Cable, that new Sony television just didn't seem to want to work to its full capacity with the standard cables brought by the cable company.

I highly recommend this particular coaxial cable and any other product from Monster Cable Company as every product of theirs that I've purchased so far has brought about a very noticeable difference in the quality of the picture on my television set. Although their products are considerably more expensive than similar items from other companies, I've found that additional cost to be worth it every time so far. {ssintrepid}

For the discerning audio/videophile, this particular video cable is somewhat of a necessity in their home theater. Several recent upgrades and additions to my first and second theater systems necessitated several new cables of various types. When it came down to insuring the best picture possible in the video connection between both receivers and televisions, Monster Cable's SV1R-1M and MV2R-2M were the clear choices.

As the advertising on the packaging states:

-Most Natural Color Rendition
-Excellent Overall Video Performance

So far, in both systems, I've found these statements by Monster Cable Company to be dead on accurate. In combination with my Sony receivers, DVD players and televisions these video cables have delivered outstanding video performance in all cases.

Overall, I highly recommend these products or any other cable products by Monster Cable Company as every cable of theirs I've used so far has delivered nothing but high performance, easily defraying the slightly higher costs for their products. {ssintrepid}

look up the "Monster Cable J2 HCAM SM-6 Hi-8/S-VHS"kit. Although it is titled for camcorders, it has the Super Video 2(6 ft) and the Interlink 250 (6 ft) for the same price. Instead of3.3 ft, you get 6 ft for the same price. Trust me on this one... I went and looked at the packages to compare. You can also look up the products on the Monster Cable homepage. These cables are definitely worth the money. My 27" TV had cheap A/V wires hooking up the cable box to the television. When I bought a new 32" TV I couldn't understand why the picture quality was inferior to the older tv that we had. Well it turned out to be the cheap cables that we were using. The 32" tv showed the imperfections much more than the 27" tv. But after we got these cables wow was the picture clearer and the colors more vibrant. If you don't have an S-video port or component cables, I definitely suggest going with these high quality A/V cables from monster.

Going fiber-optic is really easy!

Benefits: 1) cleaner install -- fewer cables dangling behind the components, 2) improved sound quality, though it's tough to quantify the difference

Cons: 1) Cost vs. the free analog cables that typically come with a CD player.

I recently put a home theater into my home and was very disapointed by the picture quality from both my DVD and HD cable box. I replaced the standard component video cables I had with the Monster Cable Ultra THX 1000 Component video cables. I was amazed at the improved clarity and depth of color in my picture now. Untill this moment I never realized how important good cables are in a home theater system. I would recomend these cables without reservation to anyone who wants to get the most out of their home theater system.

As for the vcr, I noticed zero difference. Tapes just suck on a projection TV no matter what.

I use this cable for a portable sony dvd player (which has no component outs)-the result was awesome. I also have the double shielded svideo cable, but it doesn't compare to the ultra high res. svideo. I almost prefer this to the similiar "Z series" component cables.

Cable TV reception in an urban area can be plagued with multi-path interference when the cable TV signals compete with the non-cable TV signals and create ghosts, vertical bars, and poor sound quality in low number channels. Portland area cable TV reception on ABC (channel 2 on non-cable but 4 on cable), CBS (8), and PBS (10) yielded poor quality picture and sound that were slightly improved when ATT cable replaced "stock cable" with a better quality cable during a service call, in which I was told that this was the best ATT could do. But after the ATT service call, reception was still poor and made college football games on ABC, pro football on CBS, and quality programming on PBS difficult to watch. I thought we would just have to get used to it or get rid of cable TV. Two Z300 Monster cables (one between the wall and the VCR and one between the VCR and TV) made a dramatic improvement. Sound is now perfect on all 3 troubled channels, CBS has a perfect picture while ABC and PBS are much better with minimal ghosting and vertical bars. In summary, the viewing quality has improved from poor to very good with these better shielded cables. I recommend a trial of Monster Z300 cables for persons who get poor cable TV reception, especially if the cable company says your cable signal is strong and the reception problem is signal interference.
