Apple PowerBook Notebook 12.1" M9008LL/A (1.0-GHz PowerPC G4, 256 MB RAM, 40 GB Hard Drive, DVD-R/CD-RW SuperDrive)
Made by Apple Computer

    Great machine, with caveats....
Ditto all of the lauditory comments of my esteemed colleagues here on the review page, with a few additional comments. AppleCare is a must since the "logic board" of MACs are notorious for going down. The plan is $300 additonal cost for a three year policy, and you absolutely have to have it (you may buy it during the first year after purchase). The shipping protocol of the computer is excellent, with prepaid shipping containers sent to you, but Apple will charge you an additional $50 to save your hard drive data in the event that it must be replaced, a cost that should not obtain in my judgement given the expense of the add-on policy. The quality of the call-in help line varies (as they all do with PCs), but it's necessary, particularly for PC defectors like me. Lastly, if you have a problem with the enormous heat generated by the unit, get an 11" x 14" zip folder at Staples or Office Depot to place under the unit and also to carry/protect it. And you will carry this unit since this is a truly portable computer with a 3 to 4 hour battery time (my old SONY Vaio pooped out after 40 minutes - it's like a dinasaur next to the PowerBook). Plus, truly amazingly, you can edit video and burn DVDs that work simply great on a home DVD machine. Unbelieveable.

Excellent features in a compact Powerhouse
Ah, the Powerbook. For many years, Apple's version of what a laptop computer should be. Then they created "consumer level" ibooks and the Powerbook was elevated to a status of Pro machines (which it always was). There used to be only a couple models (remember Pismo?). Then the Titanium wonder that shocked the portable world. Now, Apple has 3 different sized Powerbooks with various models inbetween those sizes. The compact little gem is the subject here.

This is one of the finest Macs I have ever used. The weight is so light. The aluminum case is amazing. The slot load Superdrive which burns either CD's or DVD's is elegant compared to slide out trays that risk being damaged. The keyboard feels amazing. I could go on and on. Battery life I have gotten has ranged in the 4 hour range...excellent for a G4 equipped laptop. ALthough 256MB of RAM seems rather low, it surprisingly does well (Though I did add a 512mb module later, and watched performance grow). The power adapter itself has hooks to wrap the cord around (though admittedly, the old doughnut design was better looking). The 12" Powerbook is an excellent piece of hardware for those looking to tote a laptop. Two Thumbs Up!

    Perfect
I received a 12" PowerBook for Christmas, and so far, I haven't turned on my old media center pc since. I absolutely love all the features. The computer is quick to boot up, quick to load application, and because of the design of each clock cycle, programs don't interfere with each other on a large scale.
I needed a computer that could edit film and audio, and render quickly and professionally, and while this isn't the fastest PowerBook, it is definitely the one that fits my life the best. It's portable and powerful, and compared to the machines that I was running on before, this is a superior machine. I have Final Cut Pro, Express, Macromedia Studio MX 2004, Adobe suites, not to mention all the handy iApps for simple cut and edit in film. I have yet to get DVD Studio Pro 2, but that's on my list of apps to get. This is the tool for a person who needs power, but the actual physical requirement needs to come second to their ideas and creativity.
The only con is the battery life, rendering and using this processor takes a toll on it, but when I do most of those type of things, it's near a wall socket, so it isn't a big deal. And despite what I had read about this machine before I got it, it is not blazing hot. The wrist rest gets a little warm, but I've yet to find a laptop that doesn't. And unlike those laptops, this one cools down when you put it on a hard flat surface, and I barely notice that the fan is running to vent it. It is a superior machine, and definitely worth the money. Couple this with a 20" Apple display, and you have all the screen space you would ever need.

    Nice one!!!
It is an amazing bag for the price. Everything is perfect but one would struggle to fit a book with the laptop. I was looking for a bag where I could even fit a book which is not the case. But I can not actually complain as it is very cheap.

    Good bag
I have a 15 in Toshiba and it fits snuggly in this case. There are a few problems: there's no room for the cord, so that goes in the front pouch (making it a little bulky)
Also the strap is not the best. The shoulder padding is bad and slips around a lot.
Kensington is cheap and well made, just be careful if you're clumsy.

BEST THING EVER makin fun of comic book guy from the simpson
This is so good. i looked at around 40 or so stores and stores online for a bag that my laptop would fit in i have a 15 inch widescreen and i thought i had to buy the bag that they were offering me for $50 when i bought this laptop. my laptop fits so good in this bag. if you have a laptop bigger then a 15 inch wide screen do not buy this if you have a smaller laptop this has a belt kind of thing that will protect it and you can put your charger in it. only buy this product if you have a 15 inch widescreen or smaller other wise it is to big for the case.

NO 8-CHARACTER LIMIT ON FILENAME LENGTH!
I was shocked to read the review by "doctormoon". I bought the lexar media 1 GB jumpdrive 2.0 pro off a different internet site several months ago, and I have had no problems at all with filename length. out of curiosity, i just renamed a large jpeg file with a 50-character name, and my jumpdrive stored the file no problem. i'm running windows 2000. the model number on my jumpdrive is JD1GB-40-500 B. it has been working perfectly and is very fast, i'd definitely buy one again. hope this helps your buying decision; i just hated to see such a negative [and seemingly incorrect] review for an awesome product.

      Works Great
I bought one of these and have had no issues with it at all. I'm using Windows XP. It worked the first time I plugged it in. No software to load and I have had no problems with long file names.

Great For Boys Who Are Very Smart And Being A Gentleman
I might get this thing if I get an A in my Englih, Math, Computer, and Dance class. I also can get this thing if a lot of girls like me a lot at school. One of my girlfriends say to me that if I learned how to be a gentleman and get an A in my English, Math, Computer, and Dance class, then a lot of girls like me a lot, and then I can have lots of girlfriends. So, I will buy it when a lot of girls like me. If a lot of girls love to dance with me, then I would bring the JumpDrive with me to the dance with the girls. I would also bring it with me when I go to a party with the girls. You should buy this JumpDrive for your son if your son is being a gentleman, very smart, and many girls liked him.

      no problems here
why i gave this printer 3 stars? 2 reasons... 1 i can't find the ink anywhere. 2 all of a sudden it's much cheaper than what i paid i just hate when that happens

      Nice for the Price
I saw this by chance and ended up getting it because the price was right and it had the "all in one" feature. I must say, that it has worked really great. The speed of scanning and printing is awesome. I've been able to scan and print photos for framing within 10 minutes, whereas on my HP it took about 30 minutes.

For the price, you get a good scan and printing that is fast and pretty true to what you scan. One caution, I was scanning without printing at first and the scanned image on screen looked too yellowish. I had a cow and had a not so pleasant experience trying to get a useable answer from Lexmark's online tech support. But once they suggested I print the image to show them and I did, I found that the image printed like what I'd scanned. It did not have the off color tints like the image did on the monitor.

Really, I've been surprised and now use it more than my HP. The copy function is cool, because you don't even have to have the computer turned on to use it. Copies are quick and you can adjust the ink levels to get it as light or dark as you want. Plus copies in color or B&W. I like the machine alot and I'm very glad I got it.

      Great Printer for Great Price!
I needed a printer, but one that had several features altogether. The scanner, photocopy, and printing features are all great. The quality for printing can be adjusted accordingly especially for rough drafts to conserve ink for final prints. This is a great buy for buyers like myself looking for budget price and having many features all in one. Also the usb cable works fine, I saved about $13 with the included one. I've been using this printer for about two months and no problems whatsoever. Installation is a breeze just follow the manual and display menu. It even has a power save feature that can be adjusted accordingly. Great quality for great price. Of course I bought mine when it was $120 which was outstanding in comparison to almost buying the Lexmark X1150 with no usb cable for $100.

      GREAT IDEA, BUT NO CIGAR
I bought this drive because of the removable SD card. However, the drive has a couple of glaring flaws:

      1. The first problem is that the male plug connector is too short. The drive won't seat in many USB slots without using the extension cord. If the plug was just a little longer--say, the same size as on the extension cord--it would fit.

      2. The extension cord is way, way too long and bulky. The drive itself is small and easily carried in your pocket. But if you have to carry the extension cord with it, it's no longer easily portable.

Just extend the male plug (about 2/10 of a cent's worth of materials) and this would be an absolute winner!

      One tough little bugger
Let me just say this little product is a great investment. It not only functions well, but is pretty tough too. Sure the form factor is a little bulky in certain USB port configurations, but the extension cord can cover you in a jam. The lifesaving feature that probably won't be promoted by the company is the ammount of abuse this thing can take! Being so compact, it fits in my coat pocket, my jeans pocket, and even a shirt pocket. As with other pocket items in my life, they run the risk of getting washed; and this unit is no exception.
No Joke, I washed this thing with my jeans and dried it in the dryer. When I saw it in the laundry basket I was really bummed. But wouldn't you know it, the thing worked like a champ, NO DATA LOSS. The case is a bit more faded and the thing smells a bit like ERA detergent, but hey, it works just fine.

Thanks for saving my data, even from myself Simpletech.

      Floppies be gone!
What a great product! I loved it so much I bought 2!

Being a writer, I like to work on my projects wherever I may be. Sometimes I like to work on my desktop PC, sometimes on my laptop at the park, coffee shop or when I travel to do research...and sometimes I like to work at my lunch break at my real JOB. Before I purchased this product, I had floppy diskettes and CD-RWs all over the place--no more!

Now, I carry my projects and all of my electronic research material with me. Everything fits and it's a no-brainer to install...just plug it in. I had to download drivers for my desktop PC as it is still running WIN98SE, but that only took a few moments and then I was good to go.

This is PERFECT for anyone who has an electronic project to do, but can't always work on the same computer.

It's faster to copy than burning a CD and it's also less wasteful. It's universal, unlike some large media like LS-120 Superdisks or Zip Disks...so, unless the PC is really old, you can use this. Furthermore, it's MUCH smaller than those other products and comes with a lariat so you can wear it around your neck if you're forgetful like I am. It also comes with a USB extension cord, in case you can't fit it into your open USB slot because of the drive's case's design.

Basically, you can't go wrong. This is highly recommended and really nice to have around.

One hint: don't run applications off of this. Use it for storage, but if you download a program onto it, copy the program onto the local hard disk of the PC you're using before you run it. The speed can't match the speed on a PC's local hard disk.

Iomega Clik! 40 MB PC Card Drive for PC Laptops

        Terrific
It's fast, tiny and easy to install. The small carrying case never fails to impress either. I like to use my Clik! disks to backup all the files I care about from my laptop. Everyone I know thinks it's one of the coolest things they've ever seen. It's a bit pricey, though.

        Cool!
I purchased my new Clik drive a few weeks ago it works pretty good for its 'mini' size. Since I use my laptop mostly away from home and alot of places don't offer the space and comfort of home or the office, I want everything onboard the computer. My laptop is a replacement for my desktop so I expect all the functionality including the ability to stick something with more MBs than a floppy into it without the usually bulky add-on. It's a lot quieter than the Zip 250 I use on the other computer. I must say I'm impressed with what I've seen do far, the Clik appears to be a good buy. It'll be a while before I'm out of the 'show-off' phase.

I love the carrying case, I use mine for disks storage and the drive is always in the port where it sould be.

        Solved my BIG problem
An owner of two laptops, one old Windows 95 and a new Windows XP, I'd been frustrated trying to copy files between computers. When the old computer's floppy drive broke (the CD ROM was already broken) it seemed nearly impossible to copy the large number of files from one PC to the other. Several costly solutions were tried that did not work. At last I decided to try the Clik! drive. Following the painstaking process of emailing the installation files between PCs, the software installed flawlessly on the old PC, and worked immediately. After this, I was concerned I'd need a second software CD to operate it on the new PC, but it turned out to be plug and play. Happy Day!

The Clik! drive is almost as easy to use as a floppy. I was able to transfer all of the crucial files from the old PC, some of them large, to the new one with little effort. After being so pleased with this drive, I bought a second one, and additional discs. I'm one happy camper!

        Great Case but beware!!!
This is a great carrying case. Its durable, insulated well, and doesn't break easily...but that doesn't mean it doesn't break. I used both sides of each sleeve. I definitely wouldn't suggest it because it does a number on the rings (which hold the sleeves together). I would reccommend this case but I suggest you only use one side of each cd page instead of both sides.

        Nice
Very nice. I have similar units from Fellowes, and this is considerably better. The materials and construction are first-rate. When I need more space, I'll buy another one without hesitation.

Get in now and get it here!
I already had a few of these ,(I'm 'reducing' my entire collection), and recently noticed that Amazon has them a LOT cheaper. BUT GET THIS: not only was this already a well-built, convenient piece, but the one I recieved from Amazon is an UPDATED design, so for almost 40% less, I got removeable pages,(not on the old ones), too. Otherwise, the excellent design is unchanged, and the snap-and-slip page removal system is strong and out of the way.

THE POINT---Im using it and not just for camera
I am one of those people with several high tech small equipments who is always on the go.

This bag is great. I'm using it for my VAIO V505EC Sony laptop. It works wonders. hey, I dont normally write reviews bec. it takes most of my time, but I have to recommend this bag.

I am advising people to buy this if they want a backpack for their small equipment. Dont think about those bulky SLR cameras or 15-17 inches of laptop. Think portability. If you want to glide around the city withouth an aching back then I want you to buy this camera/laptop/ipod backpack.

Hey, you may be wondering how in the world am I going to fit my sony vaio laptop,eh? well, the dividers you see in the photo is quite deceiving. its just velcro divider- that means you can manipulate the end and stuff. Anyway, to hold my laptop, I use two velcro divider to strap ot. Truthfully, I end up using a longer velcro from another bag. It works well! my expensive laptop is held togther by the strap bec of the velcro.

No more descriptiopn of the velcor. its boring me.

Bottom line---this bag is cheap and on SALE. You cant go wrong bec it is made from good material and it has pockets for batteries and films. Targus struck my heart with such ingenuity.

Im taking my time writing this review bec. i love this bag. backpacks and cases from sony will cost me 80 dollars (not including the hideous tax and repulsive shipping fee). Well, i got a free gigantic laptop bag from Sony..huhuhu.. I'm petite size 5'3 so I look pathetic with the gigantic bag over me. But with this bag, no body knows that I have a laptop in it. Its a humble bag. I am not scared to walk around New York with it.

There--i poured my heart. Just give me a call if you want to chat. :) Mwaa!

Great Bag-But Not for SLR Cameras
As usual from Targus, this is a great bag: well thought out and excellent sturdy construction. But, in spite of the Pro Series in the name, it is definitely not a Pro bag. The bag is not appropriate for SLR cameras or even Prosumer level video. It is great for consumer level products, with enough room for a point and shoot and handheld camcorder and accessories, and some other gadgets, like a separate pouch that attaches to the front strap for your cell phone.

Good, as far as I can tell...
Seems to be a fine case for my Tungsten T. It could be a little stronger -- I can bend the aluminum with my hands -- but it's really light and very form-fitting, so I guess it's a tradeoff I can live with. It also gripped my Tungsten *really* tight the first time I put it in, but it's loosened up a little bit since, and now it's fine. My only other gripe is that it's hard to hit/hold in the voice memo button for me (but I have really big hands, so for normal-sized people it's probably fine :). It'd get 5 stars if I could use it with the cradle, but you just need to get a charging cable (or pull it out of the case when you put it in the docking cradle). I haven't tried the "official" hardcase, but this one works just fine and costs half as much.

        Best case yet
I was spoiled on "hard cases" with my m500, because the "hard case" actually surrounded and protected the entire palm device in a clamshell fashion, clicking securely, and adding not much to the size and form of the PDA.

Tungsten cases, however, cover about 70% of the device, and most of them do close, bu fail to protect the screen adequately. The Palm "hard case" is made from plastic, doesn't actually "snap" closed, and doesn't allow you to fold the cover of the case back far enough to REALLY use the palm if it is still in the case.

This case, by iConcepts, REALLY is a better make for me. It covers about 80% of the device, it is made from aluminum (real metal), actaully SNAPS shut, and protects the screen area with a soft "neoprene-esque" inner lining on the metal cover. The IR port, SD slot, voice recording, headphone jacks are all still usable while in the case. This is also the ONLY hard case that I've found that allows you access to the feature connector on the bottom so you can sync / charge while in the case.

The only thing it doesn't have is any SD card carrying slots. However, for me, this is NOT a big detraction, and most of the cases that DO have SD slots, only have 2. I found a company on the net that sells pages for SD cards which hold 4 SD cards per page, two pages are [money]. This is how I have chosen to go for SD storage.

        Great case, great value
I'm using the case with a Tungsten T2, and am very happy with it. True, you must remove the PDA from the case to do a hot-sync, but after the first couple of times, it isn't hard to do that. (Use the little thumb space at the bottom to push it up.) The case itself is good quality and looks fine.
